The car turns on but as soon as a open the car or unlock the car it shuts off. Do you know the way to change that setting to let the engine run even when I unlock or opene the door?
Yes . 1. There are 2 options. Disconnect the door entry input wire in the security system module. 2. There is a light blue wire in the steering column that requires double pulse to disarm the oem security system. If you installed an aftermarket system, find the factory disarm output wire and wire to the light blue wire. Program to double pulse. A company offered me Remote start for the GX awhile back but i didn’t take the offer but i might this time around and do a video
Yes, this is quite an easy one to answer. Two things are not happening that i can tell from reading your statement. 1-you are not using the remote engine start keyfob to disarm the vehicle when you enter the car. The keyfob unlock fuction disarms your truck so that the truck knows u are the owner. If you have a remote engine start that utilizes your OEM keyfob then This tells me your aftermarket alarm system was not installed to its completion. Every remote engine start comes w/ a "factory alarm disarm" input wire. That is supposed to be routed to your OEM's security system disarm input OR it is supposed to be wired to your door unlock pulse wire. I'll explain...IF installed correctly, when you go unlock your vehicle via remote, the remote start will send a pulse to either your OEM's disarm input OR a pulse to your vehicle's unlock wire to let the GX460 identify you as the owner of the vehicle and not shut it down assuming you are an intruder. The mickey mouse short cut if you want to work around doing it the correct way is to find the door/dome light trigger wire input to your remote start and disconnect it. The problem with going this route is anyone can enter your vehicle and the engine will not shut off. ....hence the necessity for the "factory alarm disarm input wire". Here is an example of a Viper system in the link below. Go to slide 11 and look at the auxiliary 7-pin connector. When I remote start my Gx 460 it cuts on, but when I try to use the key or the button to unlock it, it shuts the engine off? Any idea how I can unlock it without the engine cutting off?
yes. Install an aftermarket non-plug and play remote start system such as Viper. They have additional outputs that you can run to your oem security shut off in your steering column. When you disarm your alarm, it sends 2 pulses to a light blue wire in your steering column to shut off your oem security system which will keep your engine on. Your engine only turns off because the oem security is still left on. Current plug and plays don't have the option to wire this separately. I thought of doing a video in the near future.

Technology is great funny how we always come back to old school mechanics. (using a key) Adding as well that if you don't know the dealer can program your remote so that when you press and hold down the unlock button, all the windows and moon roof open. So nice when walking to the car after work, etc. to start getting that heat out of the window or casually talking to someone before you get in and roll those babies down and let some of that blasted summer heat out of the car!

what brand window visor are those?
they are chinese off brand visors off of eBay. They work great. I don't recommend weathertech.
@@GXBOB damn, i was just about to get some weathertechs, thanks for the heads up, since I got my GX your vidz have helped out immensely, and they are funny AF!
Cheers from Texas!

That’s what she said.
Omg hahahahha thank you so much for answering my question! You are the best

Learned something today ! THX !
Sorry about the curvature
This is actually useful. I usually need to start my car and let it warm up in the winter time and was always afraid of somebody will climb in and get my stuff. Thanks, BOB!!
Mr. Tran. Until i find a better and faster way to do it, this will have to do. I'm trying to tie it into an aftermarket alarm system. Thanks for watching man.
Hello Bob, I don’t know if you can help me but here goes, my wife and I have a GX 460 2018 And just a couple days ago we started experiencing problems with our touch screen. Whenever I touch the screen I have to touch 1 inch below what I want to select and sometimes this does not work out because the item that I want to select is too low on the screen. Short of taking it to the dealer is anything I can do? Any help would be appreciated. Your videos always crack me up by the way. Lol
Yes your screen needs to be re-calibrated. I know Acrad did a write up on this while back. I was able to find it.

@@GXBOB wow! Thank you.
Mine is 4 maybe 5 if really inspired. But have to admit I did count the curve.
Invest in a penis pump and rigorously pump for 3 months straight. It increases your girth and length significantly.
Cadillac and Lexus can never, ever, ever, ever be in the same sentence..lmaooooooooo 🤣🤣
Coming from an owner of 3 Lexus's!!!!
I think I’m falling in love with you.
Thank you very much for your help
You are welcome
Technology is great funny how we always come back to old school mechanics. (using a key)
Adding as well that if you don't know the dealer can program your remote so that when you press and hold down the unlock button, all the windows and moon roof open. So nice when walking to the car after work, etc. to start getting that heat out of the window or casually talking to someone before you get in and roll those babies down and let some of that blasted summer heat out of the car!
Ron, reading your comment felt like reading a romance novel. I almost felt like i was there with you at our cabin by the lake.
@@GXBOB :-) "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..."
Nice video. Great job!
Thanks Catherine. ❤️
This one had me rolling! 🤣🤣🤣
Nah....this one is actually one of my most watered down version of my sense of humor.
Oh yeah Bob. I could do that in my Cadillac Escalade and I can't lock the GX and walk away with the engine running. So I agree with Samantha, want to be able to do that. But the method is lame for this car.
Ughhhh…
@@GXBOB _Bob that is a long process! Most of us don't have patience to take out the key and do all those steps twice!_
@@seekfactsnotfiction9056 that’s why we live in a good rich neighborhood so we don’t have to worry about leaving our cars unlocked.
@@GXBOB that doesn't work around here anymore. those were the good old days
@@seekfactsnotfiction9056 this is for a once in a blue moon option. Not for everyday. If you feel like you will be doing this everyday then its better you invest in an aftermarket remote engine start.
Another useful thing to know about being able to lock your doors while engine is running. Lol f**k Cadillac
LMAO!!! Bob you are funny!!!
whatever it takes to get into Samantha's pants.
I lock my car like this daily so my dog has heat or a/c while I’m at the bar
Live, only my right ear.
That’s because you’re listening with earphones instead of watching in your tv
Really???!!! She couldn’t figure that out???!!
So in my mind I just watched a sarcastic video lmao!
Maybe she didn’t clarify, keep the GX running WITHOUT manually locking the door???!!!
And btw, it’s the “rich” neighborhoods that ppl go rob and steal from. So you do need to lock your doors and windows, poor or rich because, hell this isn’t Mr. Rodger’s Neighborhood…
You’d be surprised how many people don’t even know about the semi-hidden key. Same thing with the sunglass holder. 😁

great feature to keep the AC running 🏜
You were going to say keep the AC running for the toddler buckled in the back while you run into Walmart to buy something really quick. 👎
