Hey Jeffrey, not sure if you are the original owner or how old your suv is, but i would almost bet that your seat was removed at one point and wasn't put back properly. There are many reasons why your seat could have been removed, one is the upholstery was initiated that can lead to many many parts and hardware being loose afterwards. Another reason is the drivers seat is the most used seat in the entire vehicle which, (with age and friction of sliding in and out) can cause things to come loose over time. I would remove the 4 bolts holding your seats down , tilt it back, and start wiggling things around underneath your seat as a starter. And i don't mind you coming on to ask questions. To answering your first question, you have to set it while you’re near the suv because it sets thru the control button or with the bluetooth capability of your phone app. It stays on the last setting you leave it on via memory. So if i leave for a few days, I’ll set on lockout mode before i leave the truck and I’m done till i get back.

Hello bob my famous Lexus gentlemen, after I watch the movie clip install the throttle, I just wonder when you drive the car, would you leave the ECO GREEN LIGHT ON OR TURN OFF from the factory setting i think for gas saving, thank you bobs,
Well tommy, why don’t you try driving one week with eco mode on and drive one week with eco mode off. Calculate the difference in mpg’s between the two. While you’re at it, feel the difference in throttle response between the two settings.
Do you still have this TRC in your 460 Bob? Looking for 2 year usage feedback. Also, on the anti theft aspect, thief (if knowledgeble) (1) can unplug the cable and put the original cable back, car will move forward, or (2) simply hold the switch for 10 seconds, and car will move forward. Seriously thinking about this installation but for some doubts.
I still use it to this day without fail. I can't imagine going back to oem because the way it makes your truck feel is a game changer. If you're afraid of someone going through the hassle of removing the cable and putting it back to stock just to move it forward then.....don't install the dash button with the arrow. You can do all your adjustments using the Beatsonic App on your cellphone.

Hey Kevin, not exactly sure what kind of scenario would allow a thief that much time to go thru the hassle. They would be in panic mode once they realize the vehicle has throttle kill switch.
Bob as usual awesome video. Question does this controller actually remap the engine response or is it just making the gas pedal more sensitive. Not understanding what is actually occurring to engine. Also BTW bought the window and mirror plug in to make mirrors collapse and windows to go down and up and it’s pure genius. Let me know your thoughts about throttle control. Thanks and keep vids coming!
Hey! So the throttle response controller allows you to use less power to accelerate if that makes sense. Over time your foot and calf will thank you on long trips. Even in short trips i feel like I’m driving a Porsche. And yes your gas pedal will become more sensitive versus the old Lexus signal delay that was built in to the oem mapping.
I wish I had this when i was driving up the mountains last month. Wouldn’t it be nice if there’s a mode on the switch letting you go back to the stock throttle setting? Let us know how your mpg is affected when you have an idea. p.s. - proud of you, you finally starting to refer the GX as a truck… 🤣
I've made a video of my GX460 Mr. Bob, I've also Down Loaded the Power Shift App Oh my goodness its so convenient to see what your on and I'm able to adjust the Intensity of each drive mode! Oh was your next video was about the Switch Panels?
I have to assume the opposite will happen in mpg's but the difference will be so miniscule that it won't matter to people like you and me because we're filthy rich. So the answer is no you won't save gas but i doubt you'd waste gas either since the sensitivity compensates for using a heavy foot on your gas pedal just to get it moving. Thats the tradeoff if understand what i'm saying.
Hahaha, i do recommend the app installed. A lot easier to manage the speed settings than looking at a bunch of colors and remembering what each color represents.
@GX*BOB actually no. Bob. I just watched the clip you posted from Beat sonic and they explained how this worked. So it was good enough. But thank you for the video as always.
@@GXBOB no need to be that scientific with a dyno. just a friend with a stop watch and your right foot smashing the gas and shouting “60!” When you get there. Curious if the different settings are meaningfully more effective!
Should I do it, Bob! You said it was a dramatic change and hard to explain. But you didn't say you "loved it!" Maybe you'll have more long term thoughts after driving with it more? I just don't want to miss out on sale ($219)...as cheap as I am!!!
Okay let’s be honest. I’m on my 3rd day using it. I found that having it open on my app with the cellphone in front me in my cellphone holder was a lot easier to adjust the settings rather than to switch thru each color on the button and trying to remember which color is which setting. The app is really great and detailed and very user friendly. So far…i honestly don’t think i can go back to default and drive with the Lexus oem setting after i rode around with this mod for some time now. I love it!!!
Hi GX*BOB. Appreciate all of your videos. Does the Beat Sonic change the behavior of cruise control? In other words, can I tweak how CC responds to calls for acceleration?
Hi Bob- have you had any issues with your throttle response controller? The blind spot warning, antilock brake and head light level warning lights all go on all together intermittently. Don’t know if it’s coincidentally or not. Thank you for all the great content excellent job!
Joseph, i use my throttle response controller on a daily basis and have not had the issues you are describing. Those issues are independent of your throttle signals to your ECU. If you want to do process of elimination, disconnect the throttle response and drive your truck around for a couple of days to see if the problem persists or if the problem goes away.
Since its so easy to remove the start button panel, it gave me an idea. If you have to park at a remote trailhead or campsite and leave the truck unattended for an extended period, remove the panel and unplug the starter relay. Then place the panel and switch in your backpack and take it with you. Can anyone think of a reason why this would not work?
I want to say the wires behind the starter button creates a loop or disconnect when you shut off your engine. I also want to say it is connected to your factory's oem security system. If you remove that component, we would not know that disconnect would affect other parts of your vehicle. Great idea though. But then again, my relay set up does the same thing except its worry free. I don't have to remember to take the button out and to either hide it somewhere or carry it with me and God forbid, i forget where i left it last. Now i'm stuck with a truck that won't start because its missing a starter button.
Well....if the obvious aftermarket security system blue LED doesn't deter them and the OEM factory security system doesn't go off, then they would still have to bend over backward to look for the wire bundle, unplug it, and look for the original connector and replug it. Then they would find out i have a starter kill. After they spend the next half hour looking for the starter kill and putting everything back to stock, they'll find out the starter kill is backed up with an ignition kill. At the end of the 2-hour ordeal, they'll look up to see me over them with a 9mm Beretta. OR they can move onto my neighbor's car, which is a convertible, and he always leaves his car keys in the ignition.
Another great video Bob! I've looked at these throttle devices since there is so many now. I had a bully dog on my Tundra but I'm gonna hold out for some more reviews and feedback for OVtune. Have you checked them out? They cracked the GX ECU and already have some tunes out there too. Reach out and see if they will sponsor you and you can give your real world analysis on a real deal tune vs plug in throttle control!
Is there an option to still have the car run in stock mode (sort of like valet mode)? Or do you have to use one of the four modified settings with green being the lowest?
Hey Tim, i leave it on the green setting and tow in S mode. Normal cruise typically on 4. I have never left it on anything but green because i don't like the "jump" at a green light.
Hey Bob, pretty neat!! Once installed can you turn the device off or does it default to the dynamic setting each time you start the truck? Very interested.
On my 3rd day with this mod. It starts where you left off. Download the app, the app is so much detailed and straight forward. You won’t be disappointed.
Have you ever driven your GX using the Shifter + - ? Did this not give the throttle response? I am just curious if anybody ever shifts because that's better than just driving in the Eco Mode which is D.
Shifter +|~ only allows you to shifts gears manually instead of preset shifts. It does not provide quicker response time if you’re going toe to toe with a Porsche 911 turbo at a red light confrontation.
I could use something to spread out the throttle response at the low end. (Quite the opposite of the beatsonic) I'm quite capable of burying the throttle when I want to, but there are times with my GX470 I need to feather at slow speed.
I agree. The good thing is the Beat Sonic provides an app that syncs with your throttle unit so you can play around with the parameters to best suit your needs. The dashboard switch is defaulted at 25% which is what i set it on and i found that perfect for my type of driving. The app is real time and i can feather my throttle in a split second when needed to.
Appreciate the response. Was curious if Green mode was a reduction over stock mileage. I just got my 2017 with 29K miles. Really enjoy your videos and I need one of those trees so I can pay for all the mods you made me want...more. Good practical how to do it knowledge you provide. I'll do the MTS/CC mod, tires, and decide later.
Hey Bob, I got 2020 Lexus GX 460. When I am going up a steep incline in cruse control mode, car starts to slow down. Eventually car is going too slow for the gear it’s in and it shifts down. That’s when I feel the jerk. Will ShiftPower Throttle Controller eliminate this jerk issue? Thank you in advance for your advice.
Hey Grigor, that would be an interesting test. Unfortunately, i have no way of testing that without recreating your circumstance because other systems are involved (cruise control). Even if a throttle response doesn't improve your issue, at least you would have paid for what its intended for - a quicker take off. Try it out and maybe reach out to the folks at Beatsonic with your questions.
Can you ditch the button and just use the app? That button is really the only thing holding me back. Been looking into something similar for a little while now. Maybe I’ll just find a hiding spot for the button 🤔
yes the app is pretty awesome. The app also gives you more options to choose from. I use the app myself and not the button. The button is only there in case you're using your cellphone for other apps such as Waze.
BOB good morning ☀️ i was wondering if i could bypass and not install the switch at all i would like to use this for anti-theft purposes i would install the unit not install the switch and disable the throttle from the app after i park i would then enable the throttle before i take off, when i’m gonna drive the vehicle would that work ? pray for me, parking in NYC streets also what kind of range would i have over the app ? could i be 10-20 miles away ? or would i have to be next to the vehicle to operate the app functions ? Thank you!
haven't tried that but an alternative is to just roll up the switch and zip tie it under your dash somewhere. Use the phone app to do all your settings.
I keep it on the green setting which is one notch above oem. After driving like yours for a year i can’t imagine myself going back to the stock setting. I like it and it still works as good as Day 1
Yes I keep it on the green setting, which is one above oem. If I removed it I would not be used to driving stock and would most likely hate the difference.
@@GXBOB I got the controller a year ago after I bought my new 2023 GX. It's still in the box. First I wanted to wait for after the 1 year free service/oil change at the dealership. Now I'm wondering if this thing was to fail or short out, could the throttle go full on by itself?, unless this is fail-safe design...........
Has anyone had any gas pedal malfunctions with this due to it possibly drawing too much amperage from the throttle control system of the vehicle? Banks Pedal Monster has an additional obd connector to get extra power from that port as a failsafe, but my obd is already being used for another device. Just want to make sure if I buy this product, I won't have any throttle failures while driving. Thx.
Hey B Evans, I've had the product for quite some time now without fail. Also to note, that if there were obvious signs of issues after having sold thousands of throttle response units to the market, the internet would have indicated so with complaints. I haven't read of any pertaining to Beat-Sonic's throttle responsive system as of yet. Hopefully others can give their input in here as well. Thanks.
no, it does not. Your Lexus vehicle already has a similar unit but with default settings. All this does is replace the factory unit with one that allows you to change the settings yourself manually. This is plug and play meaning, you can always remove it and put it back to OEM very easily.
Hey Daniel! Any and all throttle response controllers weren’t meant for improved fuel economy so I’m assuming your question is how bad will my mpg’s get. To be very honest, I’ve kept my settings on eco mode and haven’t seen any major difference to my mpg. I’m guessing the quicker throttle response is efficiently burning your fuel right away as opposed to sucking your fuel during the initial lag time to get your vehicle to initially move. Not sure if that makes sense. I don’t have numbers documented but at the same time i didn’t buy my GX for the awesome gas mileage either. 😊
@@GXBOB Thanks for the quick reply. I have been getting better mileage then I hear most people report. I usually get between 13 to 21 MPG and I use premium grade gas almost exclusively. With regular I get 13 no matter city or highway so I don't use regular unless I have to. The reason for my question was that last year I drove 26,000 miles so it is a major consideration to me. I have followed your videos and done them on my GX. Mostly the LED change overs. I'm getting to the mileage where replacing the fluids is going to be a requirement. So keep them coming.
You don't want to install these. They giving you feeling of a sport car but it is not. And when you need to pass someone at higher speed, all of a sudden you realize you don't have much power.
It works as advertised in advancing your throttle response. I pass cars with ease without the hesitation. I have no regrets and plan to move this controller to my next vehicle when I upgrade.
@@GXBOB thanks for responding. But in US and in Europe different story. Controller redistributes power on gas pedal range , you apply throttle pedal 10% however engine is commanded 80%. On 2 lane road people think they still have a lot more power left, however when push pedal to the metal nothing happens. We had lots of head on accidents. In few Eastern European countries they banned these.

A quick question. What if a theft knew where the device is and then remove it, can he still start the engine?
Hey Kevin, not exactly sure what kind of scenario would allow a thief that much time to go thru the hassle. They would be in panic mode once they realize the vehicle has throttle kill switch.
@@GXBOB Since this isn’t inexpensive device, I need to convince my wife that this anti-theft function works well.
@@kevin04cty read up on relay attacks. It happens more often than you think
For anyone who has installed this, how badly has it affected your gas mileage?
if you're concerned about gas mileage, you kinda bought the wrong truck. Might want to look into Toyota Rav4.
OK you still liking this thing? I'm all about the theft feature. I also need a loud alarm
I love this thing. I keep it on the green setting for my daily drive. I don't think i could ever go back to oem after driving with this.
Hey Bob, would you ever in the near future consider switching your tires to all terrains?
Of course. Not sure if i was going to do it to this truck or a GX470 i'm going to be building.
@@GXBOB got it! Thanks for the quick response.
I noticed that after installing this my autostart stopped working, has this happened to your GXBOB?
I wish I had this when i was driving up the mountains last month. Wouldn’t it be nice if there’s a mode on the switch letting you go back to the stock throttle setting? Let us know how your mpg is affected when you have an idea. p.s. - proud of you, you finally starting to refer the GX as a truck… 🤣
Haha . Yes the switch does go back to stock setting if you want it off via switch or phone app.

Yup, switch panels also has an app too! Doing apple carplay soon. 😄
Hey bob do you think there could be a slight gas savings as well?
Also please do a remote start install! (12v solutions)
@@GXBOB "because we're filthy rich"... my God, you're so hilarious and that got me cracking...🤣🤣
Another hit Bob, truck looks fast! Is it too much to ask for you to post 0-60 times in each of the settings?
Hahaha, i do recommend the app installed. A lot easier to manage the speed settings than looking at a bunch of colors and remembering what each color represents.
I second Sam. Can you do 0 to 60 for with and without the module? I am curious if this is just giving initial jump vs constant power to higher speed
@@Nnon11026hj hmmmm….. you want me to put Big Bertha on a Dyno. Let me ask around.
@GX*BOB actually no. Bob. I just watched the clip you posted from Beat sonic and they explained how this worked. So it was good enough. But thank you for the video as always.

Hey Shurly, i haven’t tested that out yet but will do this weekend and report back to you.
OK so does shut down mode do complete throttle shut down or does it let them reve the engine? I think I know

Thank you Bob!
Hello 👋, have you noticed any difference in the MPG now that you had for a while ? Thanks
TBH, haven't paid attention. I"m just enjoying how quick the truck takes off.
So if someone seeing that controller they can just unplug it. Shouldn't it be hidden somewhere?
My rough terrains dropped my mpgs by 3, almost 12 city. I wonder if installing this will take me to single digits land
Only one way to find out. 😊
Is there a failsafe in case it locks itself into a particular setting, let say anti-theft?
There sure is! You crawl under your dash and unplug it.

The white color is the first setting which is the stock setting
@@GXBOB There is a more expensive alternative called Pedal Commander. Did you try that one too?
Hi Bob, Do you still notice a difference when towing? If so, what setting do you use?
Hey Tim, i leave it on the green setting and tow in S mode. Normal cruise typically on 4. I have never left it on anything but green because i don't like the "jump" at a green light.
Hey Bob, pretty neat!! Once installed can you turn the device off or does it default to the dynamic setting each time you start the truck? Very interested.
I'm sure this will help you with pulling your camper off the start.

D is not eco mode.. it simply shows eco when you arent accelerating past a certain point.
@@GXBOBI picked it up. It’s the best upgrade. Truck is now a real V8.
Bob where can i get one of shift power for my GX460 2010, thanks
Contact Beat-Sonic on their website
I could use something to spread out the throttle response at the low end. (Quite the opposite of the beatsonic) I'm quite capable of burying the throttle when I want to, but there are times with my GX470 I need to feather at slow speed.
I agree. The good thing is the Beat Sonic provides an app that syncs with your throttle unit so you can play around with the parameters to best suit your needs. The dashboard switch is defaulted at 25% which is what i set it on and i found that perfect for my type of driving. The app is real time and i can feather my throttle in a split second when needed to.
@@GXBOB if you lock your car with the app can a thief turns it on by pressing the switch to activate your car into driving mode?
Hey Bob. DIgging your videos. What did this controller do to your mileage?
If you’ve been watching my videos you’ll realize i don’t worry about mileage because my kids believe i have a money tree growing in our backyard.
Put a peddle max on my f150 twin turbo v6 works great
Yes but does it have anti theft???
Can you ditch the button and just use the app? That button is really the only thing holding me back. Been looking into something similar for a little while now. Maybe I’ll just find a hiding spot for the button 🤔
yes the app is pretty awesome. The app also gives you more options to choose from. I use the app myself and not the button. The button is only there in case you're using your cellphone for other apps such as Waze.
BOB good morning ☀️
i was wondering if i could bypass and not install the switch at all
i would like to use this for anti-theft purposes
i would install the unit
not install the switch and disable the throttle from the app after i park
i would then enable the throttle before i take off, when i’m gonna drive the vehicle
would that work ?
pray for me, parking in NYC streets
also what kind of range would i have over the app ? could i be 10-20 miles away ? or would i have to be next to the vehicle to operate the app functions ?
Thank you!
haven't tried that but an alternative is to just roll up the switch and zip tie it under your dash somewhere. Use the phone app to do all your settings.
@@GXBOB so the app does do the disabling of the gas pedal?
@@freshdotholla Yes the app does the disabling also.
How do you have so much knowledge mechanically and also specifically to the Lexus gx? Really really appreciate your videos
Thanks Derrick but i got a long way to go.
A year later how is it doing for you Bob?
I keep it on the green setting which is one notch above oem. After driving like yours for a year i can’t imagine myself going back to the stock setting. I like it and it still works as good as Day 1
2 years later, do you still like and use the throttle controller??
Yes I keep it on the green setting, which is one above oem. If I removed it I would not be used to driving stock and would most likely hate the difference.
@@GXBOB I got the controller a year ago after I bought my new 2023 GX. It's still in the box. First I wanted to wait for after the 1 year free service/oil change at the dealership. Now I'm wondering if this thing was to fail or short out, could the throttle go full on by itself?, unless this is fail-safe design...........
Two thumbs up, Bob!!!
Thanks Billabong!
You da man!
Thanks.
would you still recommend this? do you still have it installed?
Hey Juan. I use this daily on the green setting. I have grown so used to it that if i ever removed it, the GX would be a completely different vehicle.
Any Mpg hit you see?
It’s too early to tell. Besides, i don’t really pay attention to my gas mileage unless it’s really obvious.
does this damage the engine or anything in a long run?
no, it does not. Your Lexus vehicle already has a similar unit but with default settings. All this does is replace the factory unit with one that allows you to change the settings yourself manually. This is plug and play meaning, you can always remove it and put it back to OEM very easily.
Much appreciated bro
Is there a mode to but the throttle back to default other then any of the settings? How bad did it affect the MPG?
Yes. White mode puts everything back to default. But after you play around with the other settings, you’ll never want to go back to oem
Lost around 3mpg on green
How does this effect your gas mileage?
So keep them coming.
do the lower settings help with gas mileage at all?

It works as advertised in advancing your throttle response. I pass cars with ease without the hesitation. I have no regrets and plan to move this controller to my next vehicle when I upgrade.
@@GXBOB thanks for responding. But in US and in Europe different story. Controller redistributes power on gas pedal range , you apply throttle pedal 10% however engine is commanded 80%.
