Proud owner of XUV 700 AX7 Non luxury Petrol AT... I can tell you one thing for sure... No matter how good road presence Scorpio N has, and how rough and rugged the Scorpio N is, XUV 700 is leaps ahead in ride, handling, performance and refinement... Space is slightly better in XUV... Tech is also next level in XUV 700 😍😍😍 M&M has really created a good profile for customers 👍 only If Mahindra could work on waiting periods, both can be hot deals 🔥
All this was coz u are the owner of XUV700 and therefore biased ! This is not at all rational and true 😅 I am in the market for a new one and checked out both of them thoroughly, To my utter surprise i found Xuv700 strangely looks MPVish in front of more muscular Scorpio N when parked side by side , driven both , and the difference is not too much , the only inherited difference is that of a monocoque and BOF , so no brownie points here , difference is not exceptional, space again is 19-20 difference, and as per features are concerned than again not much that i long for , specially if u are buying a Mahindra get a car with less electronics 😅 (have driven xuv500 for 10 years) learned this lesson in last decade myself! The upright stance and the majestic driving position that Scorpio N offers , its out of this world and no monocoque can match it, moreover if u want a proper off roader vehicle scorpio n is way superior to 700!
@@manishpandey5573 Yes, and that's what XUV is oriented towards... family... I bought it for that reason only when compared to Scorpio N... I neither wish to off road so much... Even I owned Xylo since last 10 years, and wanted a premium vehicle instead of a rough feel...
In simple words: Xuv: The guy who loves to appear powerful Classic: The sidekick to the powerful guy N: The guy who is strong but keeps quiet until required.
It's simple if you need a 4wheel drive vehicle that can do some serious offroad trials and comfortable onroad too, then scorpio N is the one. If you dont need 4wheel drive and you drive mostly on tarmac xuv is the one to go for. Without 4wheel drive there is no need to go for scorpio.
Both are very good products, take what you get soon. Mahindra has created it's own Segment. Pure Enthusiastic People's who don't want Korean brands always go for Mahindra Nowadays.❤️
Jay Patil is the star of the future. Great screen presence and dashing personality. One day in the future he'll surely be the editor in chief at Autocar.
Xuv700 is fantastic to drive and transition from driving a hatchback or sedan to an suv is almost seamless . The major dissapointment is the waiting period and the frequent price hikes. Anyway fantastic video from Autocar . One question though is the mileage on Xuv700 really bad and also there are lot of videos about bad breaking performance and frequent break pad wearouts , maybe autocar can throw some light on such issues.
XUV700 is superb but still misses out on Ventilated Seats and sliding midrow which we can have in Safari which is less expensive. There should be a variant without ADAS but loaded with everything including Ventilated Seats and sliding midrow.
For me ultimately it comes to one thing the COMFORT / RIDE QUALITY. So XUV is the obvious choice. And I would suggest anyone to judge a vehicle on this as the ultimate buying decision factor cuz u need your family to have a good, comfortable, jerk-free ride, specially on Indian roads.
Yeah without panoramic sunroof it's not a complete 4×4 right ? Lol Obsessed with sunroof . And ADAS in Scorpio n makes no sense especially if we consider the price of the Scorpio n.
Should've made XUV 7OO, RWD... Behemoth 450Nms being channeled only to the Front Axle is waste RWD+ 210HP and 500Nms from the 2.2L mHawk Diesel would've been lit af
So the conclusion is: XUV700:- If you want something sophisticated and premium and more comfortable car like experience. ScorpioN:- If you want a go anywhere, butch and bully like presence with some serious off road capability. Nissan Armada:- If all you want is the big daddy of SUVs.
Xuv700 is way better value than ScorpioN. Even in the base variants, the XUV MX gets all needed features, but the ScorpioN gets no infotainment and black trim.
😂😂😂 even the Z2 (base variant) comes with the same infotainment system as Z8L, i guess its the only car which gives the top model infotainment system in base model too, plus no black trim , even the base model comes with coffee and black color scheme same as top model, the only difference is base model wont have soft touch , jago grahak jago 😅😂
Just imagine if the 2nd row had sliding seats then the 3rd row could be much more usable than this. Mahindra always launches cars skipping some main features. Here they also skipped automatic irvm. They will add all these after 1year. So initial customers are fooled. Ventilated seats also will be given in the next update.
Scorpio N's interior doesn't feel like it's a 30 Lksh SUV..They should have gone for a more contemporary interior like the one they have in the XUV 700
Did you choose XUV AX7 or AX7L for review. 360 Camera of AX7L is good. By the way i have AX7L AWD. For the initial prices, XUV is more value for money.
What i have personally observed is that the 7 seater SUVs the 3rd row is an after thought. The luggage space is absolutely non existent. The 3rd row isn't comfortable even for short trips. In that case the 7 seater is out of the window. Either build a proper 7 seater SUV with a proper 3rd row and a decent luggage space or stick to the 5 seater SUV.....
U need a taxi bro 😂 buy a MUV 😅 SUV’s are not people mover! Just because they got size its good to have optional seats for that one week in a year! You want a proper 7 seater , close your eyes and buy Innova ! You are cross shopping in wrong segment 😂
This is where Autocar is at its best. I completely feel that ADAS is mostly useless in Indian driving conditions and Autocar has the guts to put it out. I agree some features like collision warning may be handy at times, but companies can do away with higher level ADAS offerings and instead offer these products with lower prices for their own benefit and the customers' as well.
The point is XUV 700 is sold as a Sport Utility Vehicle but it is MUV. By looks it doesn't look like a 25 lpa car, I oddly find it similar like the xuv 500. Whereas N is a true SUV and by looks it can beat down 700 any day. Rest already others comments have highlighted that M&M is not that good with electricals and ADAS has a long way to go, to be implemented on Indian Roads. I guess if you want a feature rich crossover which 700 is you can buy Astor which has more adas feature and is a globally sold variant why pay so much for inferior looks even hector, harrier, safari all looks premium than 700.

Mahindra has really nailed it only if they could just keep up with the demands
In simple words:
Xuv: The guy who loves to appear powerful
Classic: The sidekick to the powerful guy
N: The guy who is strong but keeps quiet until required.
I couldn't have said it better 😂
U nailed it 👍
Both the cars are meant for different types of owners . So it depends on one's choice . But I will go for XUV 7OO anyday .

8:07 “ SUV with upwards of 20 lakhs needs to have ADAS “
Toyota with the 60 lakh rupees GRS Fortuner : N o

One question though is the mileage on Xuv700 really bad and also there are lot of videos about bad breaking performance and frequent break pad wearouts , maybe autocar can throw some light on such issues.
If you want an SUV buy scorpio N , If you want a big seven seater car buy XUV 700, simple.
XUV700 is superb but still misses out on Ventilated Seats and sliding midrow which we can have in Safari which is less expensive. There should be a variant without ADAS but loaded with everything including Ventilated Seats and sliding midrow.

My pick 700..luv this..And luv AutoCar reviews, top notch , no one can match it with AutoCar
If you know malayalam watch talking cars .it's very ahead of autocar
XUV is most pratical as a family car, Scorpio N is more drive centric
The old school Scorpio Classic is a LEGEND. Using since 2015 and I can certainly say that it would remain the BOSS.....
Mahindra should have offered the Scorpio N with ADAS and Panoramic Sunroof. That would have made it a perfect and complete 4x4.
Why?
Perfect and complete 4×4 बनने के लिए Adas और sunroof की कोई जरुरत नही है।
Yeah without panoramic sunroof it's not a complete 4×4 right ? Lol
Obsessed with sunroof .
And ADAS in Scorpio n makes no sense especially if we consider the price of the Scorpio n.
From Kanyakumari.
Proud owner of XUV 700

Don’t forget that Scorpio-N gets 4x4 whereas Xuv700 gets All wheel drive that’s a major difference. So yes Scorpio-N is a go anywhere SUV.
Ground clearance of XUV700 is better then Scorpio N. So even Scorpio N is having 4WD, its ground clearance sways away that advantage.
But 90 percent of the time you don't need either...i drive a Pajero SFX, I don't know when I engaged the low range in the last one year.
So the conclusion is:
XUV700:- If you want something sophisticated and premium and more comfortable car like experience.
ScorpioN:- If you want a go anywhere, butch and bully like presence with some serious off road capability.
Nissan Armada:- If all you want is the big daddy of SUVs.
I would any day trade ADAS for sliding seats in middle row without any second thoughts
Xuv700 is way better value than ScorpioN. Even in the base variants, the XUV MX gets all needed features, but the ScorpioN gets no infotainment and black trim.

Saw both side by side, Scorpio N is far more bossy and has better road presence, we choose Scorpio N. It's really enjoyable for my taste
Booked 700 ax7 i had new type verna recent model just to go for indian market went to safari and xuv 700 test drive literal xuv is ulti vehicle

Finally the review everyone has been wanting for. Well done 👍👍😊
Is it that much of a challenge to mahindra to add few inches in lenght and height to give these vehicles a decent 3rd row?
Nissan Armada is a gem of an SUV. The real daddy indeed. From power to features, it's almost almighty
Good for u.. how u spotted an invisible car in this review.?
Could you do an after service comparison between Indian brands such as Mahindra and Tata vs Foreign brands such as Hyundai, Toyota?
16:23 Alexa replies Nissan Armada is the big daddy of an SUV.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ADAS is very useful in an open highway. It makes long distance trips effortless and relaxing.
16:37 Emotional Damage😭😭
Cool duo review, love the style and comparison factor from both 💐 keep up the good work AutoCAR 🌼
Not Saumil Chocking and swallowing that burst of laughter at 14:45
Instead of giving boss mode Mahindra could give sliding option at middle row seat that's a major drawback
Scorpio N's interior doesn't feel like it's a 30 Lksh SUV..They should have gone for a more contemporary interior like the one they have in the XUV 700
Legends drive without ADAS and Safety features. Learnt driving on Mitsubishi Lancer GLxi 🔥
The last part was hilarious 😆😂
Pls make a comparison video between Tata Safari, Scorpio N and XUV 700.
Headlight design is better on xuv 700
Did you choose XUV AX7 or AX7L for review. 360 Camera of AX7L is good. By the way i have AX7L AWD. For the initial prices, XUV is more value for money.
Are the niggles with XUV700 sorted? The suspension noise and brake pads wearing out within 10k kms to be precise.
Nothing as such after 1st service for me
Break pads wearing will never get sort out, driven xuv500 for 10 years and changed break pads almost every 10k !
Drove it 4000 km not even a single issue with me yet.
Loved the video, i adore the Mahindra XUV700 it is soo good looking🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Wish Mahindra would sell in Portugal🥳
What i have personally observed is that the 7 seater SUVs the 3rd row is an after thought. The luggage space is absolutely non existent. The 3rd row isn't comfortable even for short trips. I own Xuv700 Ax7L AWD Diesel(A) , it's been around 7months, by far experience is great yet there are small niggles but it's fine.
Absolutely boss, even cruise control is also useless ... adaptive cruise control also can't be blindly used on Indian roads
Would like to see comparo between scorpio N and safari
very detailed video,I'm currently confused between these two, this video helped
Everything about mahindra is cool but if you want the car next year, you have to book now
Made booking with dealer before launch. Willing to pay full amount. But…..
Frustrating wait for Z6 diesel. Provisional delivery by July 23😢😢😢😢
Scorpio owners will definitely upgrade to a new Scorpio only 😉. Period.
Harrier & safari doesn't stand a chance ,
M&M got an upper hand against Tata Motors .
No car under 15 lakhs offer third row adult seating space and comfort as Suzuki xl6.
Imagine a Scorpio N 5 seater version
Xuv 700 - Front bencher 😅
Scorpio N - Back bencher ❤
I drive a xuv700 ax5 diesel auto and happy with car.
Not a single review of AWD XUV 700 and its capabilities. Want to see how much you can push as far as soft off-roading us concern.
Scorpio is a badass , no one can beat it
Beautiful comparison with practical usage n analysis...good work n quite useful
Hi Sir,
Could u please suggest which car is the best one?
Grand Vitara 'Delta' (AT) Smart Hybrid (Or)
Hyrider 'S' (AT) Neo drive
Scorpio twins are SUV’s but 700 is a jacked up 7seater with good power.
Scorpio, all day, any day
That Giggle Of Jay Sir & Saumil Sir .. Ohh Boy .. :) "Nissan Amada" .. The Big Daddy 🤣🤣
What's the waiting period fr XUV 700 AX5 Diesel variant
Jay really liked the way you carried the comparison..🙌
One of the finest comparison series till date.👍
Well after this video, i am going for the xuv 700 cause i love sci fi tech in my car xd..
4*4 in Scorpio classic will make it a ideal car
Diesel + Manual = 🔥x ❣️ for me ❣️❣️❣️❣️
2 years delivery waiting time -$corpion
5 years delivery waiting time - xuv 7000
😅
Whatever...my dad sold his xuv700 due to a load of problems
Explain what sort of problems you Father faced while owning the vehicle
What about those thuds in suspension of xuv700?? r they present in scorpio n?
Bring a big camparo of tata safari, mahindra xuv 700, scorpion and Hyundai alcazar
Both the best car Mahindra cars r love
Jay and Soumil, both top notch presenters✌️
Head says: XUV7OO
Heart says: ScorpioN
Budget says: Womp womp little yappachino😂
Guys I have a genuine question, which is better front wheel drive or rear drive.
was waiting for this comparison
Who is the big dady of SUV's...???
The answer is.. 😁😁😂🤣
Looks of Scorpio, features of XUV.
The waiting period is a joke for Scorpio-N.
Jay patil sounds so like Rohit Sharma!
Autocar India should compare rear space, useability etc for 3rd row for vehicles like ertiga, carens, xuv, scorpio...
I think nothing can match carens 3rd row....
AWESOME VIDEO AMAZING FANTASTIC ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I too have 2018 scorpio D140 i barely use 3rd row... Ita mostly used as a dikki 😂
Amazing review… As always these 2 have really good chemistry
XUV is the best
Xuv is for urban customers
Scorpio is for rural customers
i want either one od them but waiting time is fookin huge
Please make a comparision of all 7 seater suv s...
You know your audience people!
Without adas - go for Ax7 manual
Scorpio N interior have to modify atleast for updated model from the mahindra next release
Hope will be Launching in Indonesia soon. 😢
SCORPIO N WALE LIKE HERE 🔥
Need this in 4k
No reason to be here as well 😁 class dialogue
Waiting for tiago ev review…………
