I'm gonna be honest, having ground item names show up on mobile/steam client would make me actually want to do mobile slayer as I'd know when i get a valuable drop without having to check every single drop pile. Edit: I do know you can set it up to show up in chat. Though it is useful, the chat box on mobile does take up a decent portion of the screen, even when it’s set to be see-through. I also mainly use mobile for afk stuff, so if I get an afk task, I don’t wanna accidentally miss a drop due to not paying attention
You can set up chat notifications and just search the piles. I had mine set to notify at 2k for prayer pots at mm2 caves, made it doable on mobile, but it's set at 5k for slayer
Thought I'd let you know. Steam+X, no matter your layout opens the keyboard and closes it. ( the ... can be used instead of the Steam button for any of these combos) For a list of similar commands hold the Steam Button down. The other one I could see being useful is a magnifier. Steam+L1 for that.
The controls take a little getting used to but, I agree I love RuneLite on Steam Deck the buttons are super satisfying to press. Glad you're showing yourself in vids more! You're a cutie :)

pro tips: deck button bottom left one + X open close keyboard. u dont need that deck dock. its a 100 bucks. 25% of the decks price. its far better to grab a cheap usb-c to hub thingy. mine has 2 usb 3.0 hdmi and even card reader. i do like that u found out an easier way to get runelite. im not used to linux so had no idea what discover is.

So why I like playing on my tablet sometimes, is because you actually point and click, instead of dragging your mouse and click. For me, that is more intuitive, and often faster (when cleaning herbs it is so much faster for me, as well as gear switches or prayer flicking), as I'm horrible with a mouse. With a trackpad it would be even worse for me.
I’m pretty happy using an iPad Air atm especially with the improvements Jagex has been making with the mobile client. Honestly, if they would just support keyboard and mouse input on the mobile client it would be nearly perfect (just missing those extra plugins, for now)
i can bluetooth my logitech G604 mouse too my Samsung S20+ phone and use it flawlessly with the runescape app. its smooth af just a little small thats all. but i can switch items just as fast on my phone as i can on my desktop. it must be the ipad that dosent have support with the Runescape app.. that sucks bro
@@shmee2571 I've got a Samsung tablet and mouse and keyboard seem to work pretty well, apart from right clicking, it seems to be really inconsistent and the right click menu quite often closes straight after right clicking. Is this something you have noticed?
Also, it's worth noting that Runescape uses the teeeeeensiest amount of data to run, so you can really play it on a hotspot for hours if that's a concern.

You can use your ipad as a second screen! You'd need to get a long cable so you can reach your preferred spot, and you'd probably need to do some fiddling to get it set up right, but it should work! You can also use an extension cable on your keyboard, and just put it next to you somewhere if you need keybinds regularly.
So just a little fyi the reason hdos runs infinitely better in performance is due to current osrs engine runs off of a single core process unit where as the hdos version with runs on the newer hd engine utilities multi-core performance the best way gain fps on your single core games is to drastically reduce the draw distance in game!
Interesting to watch but definitely not for me. I switch off between desktop and mobile often. For me, the only things I can really say I wish I had on Mobile is quest helper-- everything else is solid!
Looks fun, but I’ll stick to mobile. If I’m doing something pretty intense, I’d prefer to do it on PC over mobile or this Steam Deck. If I’m away from home and need to scratch my RuneScape itch, I’ll do skilling or other activities that are easier on mobile.
Make sure you have set your trackpads to disable trackball mode, couldn't tell if you had or not but honestly I've been using the trackpads a lot so maybe its just practice
The reason music doesn't work is likely because it is a snap package, you can easily toggle it's sandboxed permissions using the flatseal application :)
Steam Deck owner here. The best part about the steam deck is not the ability to play osrs but the ability to play other games while your PC is playing osrs. I just bank stand skills on my PC and play other games on my steam deck. Sure I can do that on my PC too but it feels more comfortable with the steam deck instead of having to tab out all the time.
I know logistically left trigger =/ left click but my brain still would reverse the triggers for the clicks so right trigger as left click lol seems more comfortable for me 😅
Mobile really needs to get with it. I'm a pure mobile player & there's just so much I wish it had. That game system doesn't look ez to use at all. I'd rather just tap my screen than try & move a joystick around.

Can you explain how you copied settings into the runelite Linux folder? I have the settings file from my PC but can't figure out how to get their on linux. Great video by the way. Love my Steam Deck.
i prefer to install runelite on linux with appimage and i think those problems you have might be caused because of the flatpak but i haven't tried runelite on flatpak so i can't say for sure. flatpaks just sometimes have problems because the dev didn't set flatpak settings in a correct way or something like that but you might be able to change that with flatseal so it's not like huge problem.
I gotta say the steam deck is far more powerful than what its being shown as. I am playing Doom on medium graphics and getting a constant 60fps. It struggles with new AAA games like Elden ring (I get 40-50fps on low settings) but it can easily run OSRS also the analog sticks are way better than track pad imo. Also every button is customizable and the way to open and close the keyboard by default is the steam button (bottom left of screen) and the X button. It feels like an xbox controller that was extended so if you are familiar with the xbox controller you'll love it.

I personally would take an iPad over this, I’m able to do vorkath, demonic gorillas etc, although it would be nice to have some of the benefits of runelite while playing mobile

you can open runelite in desktop mode, sign in and close it then when you launch via steam you're logged in
to fix the audio issue you would go into the terminal on the desktop and type `sudo pacman -S pulseaudio-alsa`

A locked 30 fps in elden ring is still really good for a $400 handheld. That's completely playable.
