It’s so crazy how much players actually spend on gacha games, especially on those with power levels. The scariest thing for me in games with gacha is, once you’ve started spending, your view on your spendings gets warped up, and it’s hard to quit when you consider how much you’ve already spent on the game.
I got so into gacha the first time I played it so I spend some money on it. Though luckily I got disillusioned after two month of rolling and not getting the character that I want. After that I never spend any money on gacha ever again and just enjoy it at my own pace.
Never spend in any gacha game and you won't get addicted. Though you will get really salty when your friend manage to get the character that you want
It's not really bad for most of us. Especially content creators, most of them purposely throw a lot of money into it because it gets you clicks, but if you aren't sure if you have an addictive personality or not, or worse, are a gambler, you really shouldn't touch Genshin. I spend money, but I actually know what I can spend as do most players.
I don't know if it is Suisei's case, but I remember seiyuu Yuuki Aoi saying that she would spend a stupid amount of money on gacha, mostly because it is the only way she can entertain herself, she has a lot of schedule conflicts so she can't entertain herself like average people can, I imagine Suisei is kinda like that too

Well 4k is considered as high end pc, that's why aqua said the price has wide range, and Suisei be like "leave it to your imagination", tbh I rarely see someone have >10k pc build, most of the high one I saw was around 8k pc build or the 4k one. So Suisei might be spending about 4-8k, still that a lot for gacha game

Suisei should do a gacha merch event. Where you can buy a ticket for a chance to get one of like 20 items with like a super rare one of a kind signed album or axe plushie. Not sure how legal that would be, but it would be fun as hell and it would print her buckets of money.

I’ve had friends around me play these games for over 10 years, from fgo and kancolle to uma musume and love live. I’ve just accepted that I’ll never understand it. To me, it’s honestly the meme of ‘just spending on pngs.’ I’d rather buy any other type of merch, such as clothing or accessories. Different sense of value I guess.

Well, this is very concerning, I know if suichan hear this she'll say something like "that not true gambling isn't same like gacha(insert suichan preach in here)", but trust me, people who have gacha addiction are have mutual behavior with people who have gambling addiction, I hope she can manage her money properly.

I've been wondering about this for a while but, there are many holomems who are addicted to gacha, huh? The first members who I saw are addicted to it is Matsuri, Fubuki, La+, and… Who are the other mems that are addicted to gacha? Pretty sure majority of them are.
It's not really surprising, replace "holomems" with "people" in your first sentence and the answer is still "yes".
A lot of people are addicted to gacha most of them just don't show it but not all of them are just throwing money. Some likes gacha because they are one of those Day 1 players and so given the game design of a gacha game where there will be constant updates they are stuck playing it even though it only takes like 15-30 minutes of their day. So in a sense they still waste something, not money though but time instead.

That's setting the bar quite low. Lamy recently talked about her new PC costing over $5000. Knowing Suisei, that's probably closer to the actual amount of her bad months. For whales, $1000 a month is usually just enough to keep up with regular events.

Not to be a downer, but is this even something to laugh at? I remember a clip where she literally spent like $1000 in one stream, and yeah it's her money, she can do what she wants, but how is this not an actual addiction? Imagine if she said that she spent this money in a casino instead, would we still be joking about it?
We all know that these games are predatory and manipulative. We know that people waste their life savings on them and end up regretting it dearly. If anyone spends these amounts of money on gacha games they're being psychologically manipulated and taken advantage of, it makes me a bit uncomfortable how normalized this is right now.
