There is a lot of style mismatch going on (Higurashi-medieval rpg-visual novel with light BL and bad ends), but as a passion project where you use what you have, it's more commendable than cringe. Marine cringed a lot to her dialogue, but it's not like there were anything too out of the ordinary. This is a good reminder to be nice to who we were and what we did.
Yo, in all seriousness, having this kind of project in high school is a MASSIVE undertaking, and Marine and her friend pulled it of until chapter 5! That is 5 whole game chapters more than what 99% of high schoolers at the time were doing. I am extremely impressed, Marine-senchou.
It is impressive since it shows how much passion she had for her game, lots of us did create our own with the RPG Maker I doubt a lot of us have finished our work when we were young. And that is a manga and vn already by one young pirate, that burning passion man.

Passion projects of youth may be extremely embarrassing to have exposed when you're an adult, however the days spent working on those are easily the greatest time of one's life, and Marine is lucky to have held on to a piece of that.
And now, 9 months later, after playthroughs, a lot of cringe senchou and a (not giving another thought) joke we have a TRAILER for the game voiced over by professional seiyuus, where senchou and other holomem had an audition stream for it. From the bottom of my heart, I'm truly grateful for this stream, for what brought and what will bring.

Rather, it was a long dream accomplished through years of efforts and a critical help from her best friend.

Reminds me of the story I wrote in my OLD OLD high school years. My language teacher forced all the students to write their own original story as a class project. It was an assignment spamming from the first day of school all the way to the end of the year. My story was about a man who gave up his childhood dream to become a lawyer for money and stability. Now at the age of 30, he hates his job and his life. But after the tragic death of his older sister, he found himself becoming a guardian to his 15 year old niece. Through her, he was able to recall his youth and rediscover his childhood passion. It helped him realize that money and stability isn't the only thing in life. She, on the other hand, regain a family through him. And as her guardian, he was able to help her not make the same mistakes he did when he was her age. I remember writing over 100 pages for this story. It was filled with teenage problems like her trying to fit in at school as the new student all the way down to her having a bad boyfriend that is only interested in getting her body. And there are the adult problems like him having a gold digger girlfriend who is only after his money and is cheating on him. And him having a drinking problem due to the unhappiness in his life. There was a lot of cringe stuff in there for sure. Things like sex, attempted rape, NTR etc. But the most cringe thing of all is that I was the only one seriously writing an original story. Everyone else just found a random book and copy everything on it. That's what I get for being the introvert in the class.

Seriously though, Marine is so talented! I can't do things she does in that age. Even UpTo now I'm still pretty useless and I am pretty old. I always appreciate people who do their best. I even encourage them because I know that will boost their confidence to do their best more and never give up on their dreams.

Marine's primal scream when Fubuki and Subaru said they were gonna read it killed me. It was pure horror, and Marine devolved into rambling about the lore and backstories to try to make the dialog and scenes less cringe.

Reminds me of the story I wrote in my OLD OLD high school years. My language teacher forced all the students to write their own original story as a class project. It was an assignment spamming from the first day of school all the way to the end of the year. My story was about a man who gave up his childhood dream to become a lawyer for money and stability. Now at the age of 30, he hates his job and his life. But after the tragic death of his older sister, he found himself becoming a guardian to his 15 year old niece. Through her, he was able to recall his youth and rediscover his childhood passion. It helped him realize that money and stability isn't the only thing in life. She, on the other hand, regain a family through him. And as her guardian, he was able to help her not make the same mistakes he did when he was her age.
I remember writing over 100 pages for this story. It was filled with teenage problems like her trying to fit in at school as the new student all the way down to her having a bad boyfriend that is only interested in getting her body. And there are the adult problems like him having a gold digger girlfriend who is only after his money and is cheating on him. And him having a drinking problem due to the unhappiness in his life. There was a lot of cringe stuff in there for sure. Things like sex, attempted rape, NTR etc. But the most cringe thing of all is that I was the only one seriously writing an original story. Everyone else just found a random book and copy everything on it. That's what I get for being the introvert in the class.
She says it's cringy but all jokes aside, I find it pretty impressive for two middle schoolers to produce such a game.
