Very very impressive. I've done lots of models for two decades and have never seen someone do this level of detail and do the entire thing from scratch. You sir, deserve a very good paying job doing this work and should charge more for the models you are selling. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John!! I'm glad to see people like my builds! Before i started 3D printing models, i've built quite a few 1/700 ships, i felt like those builds really trained my attention to detail... And as a hobby i don't really mind the price, any income is already greatly appreciated haha :)
I want this so bad it looks so good and accurate to the movies!! Also im making a lego custom Milano and im using this as reference, i know its not 100% but it works beautifully
I love it, this looks incredible. Like every owner of a resin printer I have tons of stls I still want to print. Some of them bought for money. But I have to get this model to print it, too. Even if I don't get to print it soon, I really want to support your work and your talent. Very well done! Keep up the great work.
Wow! What an amazing and skilled modeller. I do not have words that would suitably praise this level of creativity or craftsmanship. Video editing is quite nice and well balanced. All the best with selling your 3D designs.
I just discovered your channel a few days ago, when I watched the video of the valkyrie shuttle. I must say I´m really impressed of how carefullly and detailed you make your models, but also how these videos keep me entertained for half an hour or longer, as I sometimes already lose focus after a few minutes. The music is very well chosen and I love your commentary. It´s quit relaxing and also the general informtions are very interresting. I personally love the guardians of the galaxy movies and espacially the Melano. By the way I´m from Germany, so you can official announce now, that you have an international audience :)
Thanks for your kind words! I have plans to make the Warbird (rocket's ship) and maybe the Benatar, i hope to keep improving my videos too, thanks for watching!
Very very impressive. I don’t own a 3D printer. How much would it be if I wanted to purchase the all the printed parts for the Milano including the mini vacuum former?
Haha thanks!! I was really busy IRL but I squeezed many hours into this and finally finished it😆 learned a lot hopefully it would speed up future projects
For whomever is working on this model, the glass panels in the rear can be done with mycrosol ( or any other brand of glass looking glue) and the tiniy side panels on the cockpit canopy glass, all others have to be vacuformed for best results
well done ,i design and 3d print models my self but this one especially the lights are top work same for the 3d model is super complicated and the way you cut it in order to 3d print it is ideal ! May i suggest you so you dont wasting so much time sanding with water sandpaper ,use foam sandpaper dry... then the Water one just to smooth it out ,the resin sanding down 3 times faster when is dry ! Then dont worry much about your panel lines either design them a bit deeper or you can rescribe them again when is necessary !
Thanks!! And yes this one was pretty complicated, lots of head scratching in front of the computer hahaha. I will get myself some of those foam sandpapers, seen them in lot's of modeller's videos, although i find sanding pretty zen sometimes :)
It's gotta be the best 3D Printed model kit I have ever seen, very impressive. It looks so much better than Fantastic Plastic's resin Milano. Looking forward for more builds. And btw, if you're into sci-fii modelling - I recommend you checking out Pegasus Hobbies War of the Worlds Tripod. 1/144 scale kit with some solid details :)
Thanks!! I did spend dozens hours trying to get the ship's profile correct, it was difficult, lots of staring at the screen and making tiny adjustments, but I think I got it pretty close to the original shape! And I will checkout the tripod!
Really amazing work you did here.. have been trying to recreate the ship myself in 3D but the info and references are so limited that it's almost impossible.. there are some stl out there but they are just rough approximations... however yours is really close to the original. To me the Milano is one of the most amazing designs i have seen in long time.. definitely it's worth to buy and i appreciate and thank you for your work.
Sure! you can find the super thin LED strip on aliexpress by searching "1M 3v 1.5mm LED" Also the square LEDs by searching "2mm square LED". (international shipping takes awhile) The breadboard is a generic brand from ebay, you can find by searching "mini breadboard", (i cut it in half). Tiny LEDs are from www.funtrying.com/product-page/bundle-of-leds-with-wire-leads-pre-wired-0402-smd-leds, (0402). They comes with pretty long 0.2mm wire which i used to wire the whole model. The orange/white LEDs are generic 5mm round LEDs. If you plan to build this model with LED, i recommend making bigger print if you have a large printer, maybe 1/120 or 1/100.
Love to do it in future, but I'm looking at star citizen ships next, there are so many cool sci-fi ships i wish to make my favourite from each movie/story/game :) Btw i think rocket's ship in the first movie (warbird) with those extra large gun pods is pretty awesome too!
Really nice work, I'm already building one from Gambody but I like this design, looks a lot better to add lighting to it. So I purchased your to compare both models on my chanel when done. Thanks for sharing this video, Awesome work. USA SPFLD.
Concept What would it look like if Time Machine #1 (Recreation from Meet the Robinsons), Vanguard variants from star citizen, formula 1 2022 car, Pininfarina Sergio, laferrari, bugatti bolide, Apollo Intensa Emozione, can-am maverick, tesla cybertruck & HSP Magnavem or HSP Solar Skin fused with milano from guardians of the galaxy?
i´m finally getting to work with these files , im fucking amazed at how well supported these are however i wish there were a couple more parts split , for example the rear assembly that goes down the central engine , i mean the whole " box" that holds the viewing port and the 4 rear repulsors , that as single piece would be fitted easily in my small resin printer
Thanks for that feedback! Will be a bit more careful with combining parts in the future. Btw I've been a bit busy IRL haven't had much time to finish the instructions for the Milano. Might take a bit longer, please use the video as reference for now. I will make my next project free for you guys that brought the file as a compensation. (It's a detailed model of the JWST, not really sci-fi but I hope you guys will like it ^^)
@@SevenScales its quite self explanatory if you have a couple of reference pictures its really easy to figure out what goes where , dont worry for that
ive been trying to adapt the toy into a decent looking model but it has horrible proportiones in the nose section , i am so buying your model as soon as it is avaible
I was using the mono x without anti aliasing. Recently I upgraded to the 6k version with AA it gave much better results. I will add my print settings in my next video
Do you have any tips or do you know any good tutorial for panel lines? I´m modeling a N1 starfighter from Star Wars in Blender (for 3d printing) and I don´t know how to do the panel lines without making chaos in the topology. Btw I love your models and Im learning a lot from your videos
I'm not sure if my method is unique or not but i make the panel lines by creating plates. 1. make a copy of the original model so the original topology isn't changed 2. use knife tool to cut desired panelines (you can highlight the cuts by "mark sharp" so they are easier to see in viewport. You can also use bevel weight) 3. select those edges you want as panelines, use bevel (ctrl-b) to add gaps 4. after bevel, just delete the gaps while they are selected 5. add solidify modifier, adjust the offset so that it overlapse with the original model Since stl files doesn't really care about overlapping just make sure every object doesn't have holes (non-manifold), there's a included addon you can enable in blender called 3D-print toolbox which helps you identify gaps and holes (modifier needs to be applied first). hope this helps!
This is awesome! Please tell me how you were able to recreate it so accurately, I'm also woking on a model of the Milano but in LEGO and want to make it as close to the original as possible. But as you said in your video, the reference material is very limited. Did you get any 3D file sent by the designer or just copied everything from the movie. Thanks. Btw you're model is astonishing, keep it up.
Hey thanks for your comment!! I didn't get 3D file from the designer, I used screenshots as if they were orthographic views like this: imgur.com/a/drw25yN I spend about half a year on this model, i remember once in a while i would spot some details that i missed and it all added up over time. Building this in lego will be a pretty big challenge, i think the most important feature is the 3 pointed star shaped nose and the curve connecting from the nose to the stubby shoulder wing, if you somehow get those right the model should turn out great!
@@SevenScales Thanks for your advice. By now your video has helped me the most and since I'm not really interested in spending half a year rewatching GOTG I'm really grateful and impressed by the work you have done XD. I think you should consider making another ship like this sometime in the future, like the Benatar or Rocket's Warbird. You're pretty good at it.
the best of all is to think that if the universe is infinite or finite but in an infinite loop, then... the Milano and the guardians of the galaxy could be real at some point in the time.. in real life
On aliexpress search "1M 3v 1.5mm Led Strip" it should be the first one (they don't have resistors). The reason i'm using this brand is because its the only one that can fit inside the rear small pair of repulsors. If you are able to print a bigger scale say 1/100, there are alot more choices. I would have used LED filaments if i made a bigger scale. (ua-cam.com/video/Y44_IgT3K9w/v-deo.html)

I would sell my soul for a large benatar model. Great vid!
You should sell them as a kit or for a more substantial amount the finished and painted model I know I'd buy one
Might try to use transparent paint. That would allow the metal sheen show through and still get the color you are after.
I agree the transparent paints should work well, i will give that a try the next time i build something similar!
