Battle? What battle?
It was literally just the First Order waltzing up to the front door
Yeah. It was the first order doing a massacre. And a garbage air battle with the Millenium falcon 1v20 with only a underside gun.

Since Juggernaut turbotanks were repurposed after the Clone Wars Into prisoner transport, then why not mining vehicles as well?
Imagine it. A bunch of turbotanks on the flat plains of Crait, circling the AT-M6’s and putting up a fight, as they outmaneuver the walkers and use their dorsal guns against the fighters
GiantSlayer they’d be blasted instantly. If not then the ties would pick them off

Bottom line is, Battlefront 2’s “Battle Of Crait” is several times better and more exciting than the movie’s

It's literally a freighter with an aftermarket engine. If there's anything which pisses me off about the sequel trilogy it's its overuse of the Falcon. How can one freighter with a single underside turret not only withstand, but BEAT an entire squadron of military-grade fightercraft? It's bullshit.
I think the excuse is "Plot Armor"
The falcon is always piloted by people that are good at piloting except rey idk how she does that thing

In a new hope both Han and Luke sit in a turret placement to shoot down TIE Fighters as they escape the Death Star.

The Tie fighters didn't strafe parallel to the trenches. A couple of passes and no more troops.
Yep, and that´s exactly why real trenches are build in a zig-zag... (well, it´s not actually THE reason for it, but whatever)
@@aname6988 True, if your enemy had Tie fighters in WW1 or 2 then you've got bigger problems.
For the others, it's to stop the effects of a direct artillery hit going down the length (shrapnel, shockwaves) and *bullets* if enemy troops manage to reach a portion. Imagine the damage (and confusion of returning fire) along a dead straight trench if someone started firing down the length, every bullet would eventually be a hit.
Also the frequent corners allow bracing and strengthens and breaks up the structure, so it won't all just go in a collapse along the length if one part weakens.
This were the design rules before aircraft were even invented. It just so happened that they were also the right choice against strafing runs.
Once again proving that Star Wars doesn't even know basic tactics.

The biggest mistake on the resistances part was fighting in the first place. This entire trench-system in entirely useless as they have no weapons capable of actually harming the walkers attacking them (something they should have learned from the Battle of Hoth several decades before).
They should have just holed up in the base and engaged the First Order ground troops when they have to enter the base through the tiny bottleneck that is the hole in the doors

To be fair, the troops outside at Hoth were simply a delaying force. They were trying to give the base enough time to get people and equipment evacuated.
On Crait, what were they trying to delay? They knew no answer was coming, and they could have easily created many kill zones in the tunnels and with the small hole in the door.
Plus, the only thing they were attempting to defend was the resistance i.e. themselves so there was no point to getting themselves into such a situation@@catmani2

(And I hate to say that about Leia, who I love. Hence why I can't stand Disney and what they did with some of the greatest characters in cinema history!)
Absolutely spot on analysis! the base on Crait should have been turned into another Stalingrad or, failing that, one of the fortified villages commonly used during the Vietnam War. These hamlets turned into Viet Cong strongholds forced American and allied units to fight on ground more suitable to the Viet Cong's strengths.
I felt that ordering the walkers to shoot Luke was the smartest call Kylo could make. How often do we criticize villians for going 1v1 with a hero ehen they could just have an army execute them? I loved that he gave no shits about a glorious duel and just wanted to safely and efficiently eliminate his biggest threat.
Exactly, Luke is a Jedi. As far as Kylo knew, that was Luke (No one knew that was a projection.) and you know how much damage a Jedi can do...

The whole point of the battle wasnt to kill luke it was to end the resistance by killing or capturing them all. He could have had one AT M6 fire while the rest just kept moving and doing things and it would have had the same effect. And since luke was just like a ghost in that scene they could have just ignored him.
Leia: "I want troops in the trenches defending the giant protective wall."
Commander: "You want troops with only with blasters, against heavy armor that's twice the size of AT-AT's and a tie-fighter squadron?"
Leia: "Yeah. We need to slow them down."
Commander: " We really aren't slowing them down. Our blasters can't even reach them. Don't you have any force powers to slow them down? I mean surely you've learned something in the force the last thirty years."
Leia: "Dude... check out my rad coat."
To be fair the instance of her using the force to pull herself on the ship was pure instinct.(And the fact she's a Skywalker.)
Leia had little if any force training. Let alone Jedi training.

Agree that Rose Character arch isn't good.
But Ramming Fin at the end is made sense, everyone knew that their fragile Sky Speeder won't do anything against Battering Ram Laser so they pull off except Fin. Especially on direct fly into the front on nearly full-charged laser(which can just blast Fin to oblivion or melt his ship even before hit) is really bad idea and suicidal action. So Rose came to stop pointless ram which didn't gonna do anything before Fin died.

The real question if everyone peeled back but Finn how did rose catch up and t bone him...if they could move that quickly why not full throttle it the whole way?
also more intresting how did they manage to get back inside the base, whitout anyone shooting them.

EXACTLY! That was my thought when I saw the movie for the first time. And I KNOW I saw weapon emplacements on the towing machines, and they did not fire once. And why would stormtroopers have to stand on top of those machines when the Star Wars factions are more than happy to have vulnerable windows on everything?
And since the walkers were absolutely savaging the ski speeders on their approach until Poe ordered them to retreat, why did they suddenly stop firing after that. It should have just left all of them focusing on Finn.
You could probably make a top 100 list, this was such a disaster on nearly every level.
midgetydeath when the scene came up where rose hit Finn out of the way of the cannon everyone in the theater either whispered “what the hell was that” or loudly booed. Kinda shows what people thought of just that scene

Rose's speed when she rams Finn means she probably had enough speed to hit the siege cannon herself.
The First Order apparently had no sensors to detect an incoming ship … that's twice the Millennium Falcon has snuck in to save the day on a battle in progress.
BTW how the hell did Finn drag Rose back to the base in time?
They were next to the Walkers when they crashed and it's a _long_ walk.
And the other question is how didn't the walkers see them?

I believe "it happened" would be the quickest way to sum up the problems with the battle of Krayt.
It completely defeats the purpose of capital ships if Admiral Gender Studies can just go Kamikaze and destroy a whole fleet.
Also, why did she wait so long to attack and why didn't she use one of the smaller ships? She could have saved the Raddus and the transport fleet that way.

Actually, it was due to the High risk nature of hyperspace travel and the Raddus’ expiremental Shields that it was only done on that ship.

How to beat the resistance at this point:
-Communications Jammer
-Kill every soldier that's outside the heavily fortified base.
-Camp all sides of the base.
Now when they run out of food and water.. they have no choice but to surrender, and since the First Order is bigger, they can still take over the rest of the Galaxy.

The First Order could have used a single shuttle to make a hyper-speed jump into the resistance base... or taken a page out of Kylo's grand father's book and used one of their badly damaged ships to ram the resistance under a flag of surrender.

put the resistance on its back foot morally because of it.

@@supergkop5678 He wasn't talking about the hyperspace ram, but Anakin in the Clone Wars making a false surrender. He did it so the Federation would lower their guard and not shoot the scrapped, empty ship he sent on a collision course.
As you can tell, making a false surrender is very, very illegal. It ruins future diplomacy and peace talks, and you give the enemy the green light to shoot troops that actually surrendered because you've already proven that your side cannot be trusted.

In reality, it's a horrible attempt to justify a tactic that is now valid but is never used.
I mean, how the heck did Holdo even know that the ram would even work? The tracker is new technology, and no one from the resistance would know how it functions on a technical level. How did she bank on the ram even working if it requires an extremely specific scenario for it to work in the first place? It just doesn't add up.
First of all a hyperspace ram whouldn't even be a thing, that's not how hyperspace works lol, if it worked like that then the rebels could have just rammed into the death star lol

The First Order had no idea whether the Resistance had anti-air capabilities. Dropping the superlaser too close could have just gotten it shot down.
Speaking of the superlaser, the Falcon should have just made a direct surprise attack on it. If there is a kyber crystal in there, they could have blown up the entire First Order landing force in one blast.
In a time when weapons can destroy a whole planet they hide in a base with thick door LOL, Rian Johnson's logic....

Orbital Bombardment would be more logical since Crait doesn't seem to have any shields. The Dreadnought in particular would be highly useful which is another way Poe's assault on the Dreadnought saved everyone

Also, i need someone to explain me the sense of distance they have: it takes more time to ski speed to the superweapon than coming back by foot (poe, rose ànd the others literally teleport themselves back into the base)
Also, rose has time to break off the attack, and then overtake finn that didn't slowed down in the first place to crash into him
You forget to mention everything else in that film called The Last Jedi.
I still whander how rose managed to catch up with finn at all. Last we see rose turn arround and head to base and finn continues straight forward and full trouthle
If she was that much faster, she could have rammed the siege cannon herself.
What's really confusing is how Finn was able to drag her back to the base. Realistically if he had started sprinting for the base ASAP, leaving her behind, and had damn good cardio, he still shouldn't have made it.
A) He's an incredibly easy and visible target, leaving a trail of red with every step against a white background
B) How long did they "fly" for before he crashed? He's a _long_ way away. That's a hike.

What if Anakin failled to find Ventress during the Wrong Jedi arc?
Then Ahsoka would be sentenced and Barriss would go unnoticed. She would probably be executed during Order 66 if she doesn’t commit any more crimes against the Jedi/Republic before ROTS. Ahsoka could escape, or she would be visited by Anakin if he would be allowed to see her. Anakin might turn to the dark side sooner seeing as how this wasn’t her choice unlike her leaving, which was. There might still be a Siege of Mandalore, they just wouldn’t send Ahsoka, they’d sub in some other Jedi, or maybe they’d have just Anakin or just Obi-Wan rescue the Chancellor. There’s a lot that would be different if Ahsoka was imprisoned.

Why didn't the First Order just order their pilots to come to the side of the trenches and just strafe the entire trench line vertically instead of attacking from the front. Easy prey.
You did overlook that finn's face should have melted when flying at a super laser with no windscreen lol, and it was already shown to slightly melt the blast door so no idea what factor sun cream he was wearing but must have been some powerful stuff.
Kylo is a wussy, plus Adam is a good actor of a different sort than was needed for this, and the writing for his character is atrocious
I hope Palpatine steals his body using the force and thus changing his personality drastically.
Kylo is an emotional, conflicted, angry and generally male victim of the same manipulation as Anakin Skywalker, and Adam plays into that perfectly. The problem is people expect a specific Kind of bad guy cuz hey, it's Star Wars, and completely miss the point when a director tries something different

Luke could’ve taken out the whole army if he had been his EU version.
EU isn't non-canon, even then, he still can as new lore has him force grabbing dozens of Imperial class SDs all at once and throwing them down at Jakku, while frying dozens of other Imperial class SDs all at once with force Lightning.
Surrounding him with infantry will do jack.

That red dust is from the red sediment, right below the thin layer of white salt
You can note it is seen in a handful of foot prints you can see, as well as the trenches.
The reason the speeders were making that red dust was due to that bottom bit literally scraping the surface.
I loved The Millennium Falcon Flying and Kylo immediately going " BLOW THAT HUNK OF JUNK OUT OF THE SKY!!!!"

I think the fact that the First Order was undermanned and unprepared is perfect. Kylo was running off pure emotion, as siths do. His ego was so big that he thought that was all the troops and equipment they needed. They rushed into battle hastily, without a plan, and botched it from the very start. Kylo had just taken over as Supreme Leader and had no idea what he was doing.
Kylo Ren is hands down the best and most interesting character in the sequil trilogy. And I hatted him in ep7

Can you do the Gray Paladins? They're a Jedi faction that used blasters and other weapons one was so good that she was able to send one of her own bolts straight up an enemy's blaster barrel. They also believed in using the force as little as possible so they focused on other skills like martial arts and military tactics like guerrilla warfare, urban tactics, espionage, and infiltration.

My explanation for how Rose caught up to Finn is that enough of her speeder fell off that her top speed increased. Still don't have an explanation for how Finn wasn't roasted by the super laser, how Rose didn't kill herself and Finn when she t-boned him, or how the hell her "protecting what we love" statement applied to the situation.

Well, Ulic Quell Dromas brother lost his arm and stayed on the light side (I guess a lot Jedi lost limbs). This is far less than Vader lostof course, but maybe at least similar to Malak, who lost his jaw.

The V-4X-D ski speeder looks like the german Blohm & Voss P163 design project bomber. The crew acommondated in large wingtip nacelles and the engine in the central fuselage
I thought it looked like the doddering grandfather of the B-Wing. Which reminds me. The B-Wing would have been much better in the first space battle than the slowly-flying boxes of explosives they did use.
I actually think like you said about the surviving carriers, was the AAL-1971/9.1 Troop Transport. The AT-M6’s probably only had the platoons on with them just in case things went south. Because once those got closer then it would be secure enough for the Troop Dropships to land and invade the base itself.
Aside from this, you opened my eyes to all the flaws 👌
