  • I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

PSA~ DON’T FORGET YOUR SMOKE & CO DETECTORS & checking batteries!!! One of the most important preventive things anyone living in a structure can do. I love how you explain & share your knowledge or new things you have learned along the way. From the wood burner stove to beaver damns, culverts & more…❤. When your turned off the lights & showed the flames. I could sit there & just watch the fire dance. 🔥🥰. Thanks for the vlog.

Thanks for sharing all of this with us, Post. Someday we all may wanna feel like we wanna break from the grid and get back to basics. I just like knowing about stuff in general, and wood stoves kinda have a sentimental place in my heart, growing up in Maine. I remember being tasked with getting the ashes out and stacking cords and cords of wood for the winter.

To eliminate the smoke inside, ball up a piece of newspaper and jam it into the stovepipe from inside the stove. Light that piece of newspaper, and when it starts drawing, light your fire like you normally would. You’ll thank me later. It’s called “priming the chimney”

  • @mdocod

25 minutes of burning with the door open... you need to re-read your manual. That's not the way this is supposed to be run. You're going to over-fire the chimney and suck all the heat/air out of the house on startup. Door should be open long enough to get the chimney drafting strong then shut the door and run in bypass mode till things are hot enough to draft through the restriction of the cat. In my experience sufficient temps for a strong draft (rumbling fire up the stove pipe) can be reached in a few minutes.

Post, That is a Cool shirt.I really like it. I just couldn't wear it buttoned to the neck.😅 Now on with the rest of your great video!

The cold air comes down the chimney as a result of BP. If you open the window for about ten minutes before you light the fire you probably won't get any smoke or at least very little.

Watching this fire I am thinking about making somemores, and hot tea or hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallow 's , drizzle chocolate syrup over all of it.

  • @MarkkuS

Chimney sweep tip for cleaning the glass from soot: take a wet (water only) paper to the ash in the stove and rub the soot with it. No chemicals to burn in the glass from detrrgents!

I don't understand why catalytic wood stoves are 3 to 4 times as expensive as none catalytic. The catalytic cartridges are between $100 to $450 so why such a large mark up?

  • @prottentogo

for some reason I could watch you go through the woods talking about random stuff for hours. really no clue why that is.

    Some tips:

  • @ross42723

This wood stove company should support this channel lol

  • @Swimmingforlife.

Fantastic video, I live in Scotland and have solid fuel central heating, I burn anthracite, I know wood is more eco friendly but sadly wood is so expensive here.

  • @stevem.1853

Hard to believe it's been almost a year since all those trees came down. Can't wait for you to get back to the bread truck cabin, I really enjoyed those videos 👍👍👍

  • @baltvdb

Should've had "camera 2" on the chimney outside when you started the fire. Really interesting upload👍.

  • @ArcadeFires

Watched this on my tv and started to hear and feel the roar of the fire going! I had my subwoofer on high and had no idea what it was for a few minutes. 🤣 Awesome video!

  • @lorizeppelina2286
