Any tips on how you reduce your carbon footprint?
I am in a similar van to the one you guys have. I recycle my refuse as best I can. Everything that uses power is as efficient I can afford. I use a desiccant toilet (What everyone calls composting). Most of my energy comes from gasoline. Off the top of my head, I think it is less environmentally friendly than a modest life in an energy efficient home. Where my carbon footprint is different is that I cut my driving nearly in half by getting the van. Even if my car was twice as efficient. My fuel use was not very different.
Great video guys, it goes to show we need to think more about our actions. I think your methodology was pretty good with your calculations but you’ve probably overstated how much energy you consume making electricity in the van as you’re counting twice the energy generated by your alternator; you’ve already included it in your fuel consumption calcs. Also, if you weren’t living this lifestyle you’d probably be driving and flying on the weekends for your climbing, so in reality your carbon footprint as apartment dwellers would be higher. At the end of the day, you’re doing a good job right now because at least you’re conscious of where all that energy is being spent and your carbon footprint.
Great video and informative. I still think the electric cars are a scam (I am heavily invested in Tesla). The mining process is very detrimental to the environment. . The power generation stations are major polluters. And the windmills are birds worst enemy and they destroy the ground environment around them. Then the windmills are a major environmental problem when they can't be recycled. Your efforts are admirable. I enjoyed the video 👍
Very cool to see everything boiled down to understandable units, its pretty crazy how much energy/carbon is consumed to move a little room (car) or a tiny house with you everywhere you go.. basically live in a rv but only drive it once a week or two for a little would be ideal I guess.. this scenario would even allow for a electric rv ;)
When we did the numbers we looked at the pieces that changed. So food or in this example air travel were about the same. That's why it's not included. Of course the total consumption after food or car supplies like oil change or tires is even bigger. (On the topic of air travel, it comes to about 3 to 5 L/100 km of kerosene per person... I don't know the factor of how much CO2 that is)
Whahah, nooooo! I don't have these feelings at all. I don't caree🤡 and I don't have a clue what is good or bad! Because I have no idea what function I have on this earth in the first place 🤣 I think maybe we are made to end diversity. Then we might be doing great 🤧

Come back, the algorithm favors van life content more now. Videos are awesome btw

Great video! Thank you for sharing. Hope you are doing well and we get to watch more of you soon.
Well done video! 👍👍 Greatly enjoyed it!!
Great video it's always, also, coffee's purchased for each of you. As you seem to be doing, continue to enjoy life!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate your support!!!

Loved this. So neat and interesting. Kind of forgot about how bad driving is. 😩

If you don't drive a lot, you'll definitely use less then you'd use in a house.
His face when you was talking about eating less meat 🤣
Have you had any leaks in your custom shower? It is a brilliant idea!
This also is a enlightening vlog on consumption. I'm curious how solar power produces carb ?
You should add a few vacations into this calculation! I wonder how much CO2 is added by flying across the country/world a few times

Just started the video 2:47, but I like the subject..
So I’ve been parked in the mountains of BC all winter , I’m on tank of gas # 3 for my heater bill for winter ❄️
That's actually not too bad, you'd use more (natural) gas on a house to keep it warm during the winter months.
How much does a electric vehical produce from the production of recharge energy and engine used ? 🤔
My guess: Van
Short sweet 2point, no Pulitzer here, How Doo We Care 2Gether is the question, Go climb a mountain so WE may enjoy. Kudo's
I'd say yes purely because there's not a gaggle of kids accompanying you.
Water is a renewable resource.
Every drop returned to the earth or atmosphere comes back.
CO2 feeds plants.
Van life isn't eco sustainable if generators are used.
Don't be slagging the Science Centre!
