5:20 has to be one of the most amazing shots I have seen. This dream sequence where Paul sees himself as Emperor and having defeated every enemy just looking over his Fremen army celebrating, while standing atop the hovering ship and the wind sweeping over his robes.
With Dune and Blade Runner 2049, Villeneuve really gave meaning to the expression "every frame a painting". Seriously. Every single sequence is aesthetic perfection.

2:20 I wouldn't say this is the best shot because there are sooo many good ones from this film, but this one is one of the best. The way Paul is framed to the side, the beautiful scenery, the ships floating casually in the background. Beautiful.
Every scene in this film is a visual masterpiece. Denis Villeneuve outdid himself. This film absolutely deserves and needs extended /director's cut. I suggest that under each interview Denis Villeneuve leave Hashtag #DUNEextendedcut or #DUNEdirectorscut
I just wanna say the costume design was on fucking point too, like lady jessica's dress when arriving on Arrakis was fucking stunning in the wind and just the designs for everything
Got some strong Prometheus/Engineer vibes from the Harkonnen aesthetic - the lighting, the colours, the architecture, the pale complexions, the biomechanical back of the Baron. I would absolutely love to see Denis Villeneuve have a go at telling us the untold story of the Engineers. Scott produced and Villeneuve directed on BR 2049 to great effect, so why not? Ridley Scott seems to be so busy on so many different projects, I think the only way we get that story is if someone else directs. It's nearly 10 years now since Prometheus and we still know nothing more about the Engineers and their culture. That story has so much potential.
Dune has to win academy awards for best visual effects, cinematography and soundtrack or whatever the award is. This movie is a treat to everyone's eyes.
1:15 the atmosphere, lighting, and the costume design of the bene-gesserits are just immaculate. Not to mention hans zimmer’s brilliant score used in that scene.
When I saw this movie for the first time O was struck by the beauty and awe of Space ship. The incredible size and scope of it. So simple yet mysterious. 10 minutes into the movie I was hooked. Just wow. Highly recommend this movie to everyone.
This entire scene is an excellent example of depicting sheer bloody violence in formal bounds of PG-13. Duke Leto is helplessly lying here "naked and far from home", he is depicted as absolute victim, though there is no vulgar torture. It's a masterpiece, definitely.
This is the video that made me buy the movie. I'm so glad I saw this because I've been obsessed with the lore of Dune ever since. Truly a remarkable series and I CANNOT wait until the upcoming sequels!
what I find amazing is just how what I pictured in my head while reading the book long ago, is exactly what is portrayed in the film. Paul and Jessica seeing the capital burn, watching the worm engulf the miner while the ornithopter flies away. Maybe a tribute to Villeneuve, but just how great of a writer that Herbert is.
This is the first movie I've seen that has really captured the vibe of 60s/70s sci fi novels. The gargantuan scale of things, indescribable horrors, alien feeling technology, ect. The cinematography and the brilliant score brought me close to tears in some scenes. This movie is a work of art.
Has Denis Villeneuve even dropped the ball ONCE? I’ve watch ALL of his movies from Incendies up until his most recent movie, which is this Dune. He hasn’t made a shitty movie YET! He made this Dune movie so GOOD, I left the theatre and I started researching everything I could find on the entire Dune universe. The guy is a MASTER behind a camera. There is no question about it. The scene with the blue-eyed Paul Atreides, standing on the back of that ship with Zendaya… It gives me goosebumps every time! 6:43!
Whoever edited this video knows how to use music. They knew how to time the shots and moments to get that grand scale feeling out of every shot. Whoever does these videos needs to make movies and use this dynamic music to really pull the pathos out of whatever he or she is filming.
I think I've just had an eargasm. And a eyegasm. These amazing shots combined with Dune OST combined with Eclipse from Pink Floyd are a true wonder. Now I can die peacefully (but in a lot of decades please).
3:55 The camera is "upside-down" showing the ships "rising up" to Arrakis, giving the illusion that House Atreides is progressing upwards when the reality is that it is the beginning of their downfall. . . . That's how I see it anyways...
This video should be titled - "Why Dune deserves a big screen watch?" I mean just look at the framing, I can't help rewatching this video. Great editing btw.
This film was a perfect storm. Directing, acting, music and art direction are all spot on. This is how I imagined all sci-fi since I was a kid. Big and epic. It was like seeing something new but familiar at the same time. Can’t wait for part 2.
You know it has amongst the best Cinematography and Visuals in filming history when literally every single scene looks like Concept Arts and are Wallpaper worthy
Man this movie is hypnotically gorgeous in its visual and audio design. I can not only remember how great things looked and sounded, the feeling of scenes are still engrained in my brain. The confrontation with the sand worm for example, you feel every moment of that scene and it is awe inspiring. This is easily one of my favourite films I have ever watched.
You didn't include the scene, where Dr Liet-Kynes is shown with the two staves and the desert in the background? For me this is one of the best shots from the movie.
Far out..this is the BEST compilation of Dune I've seen!!!! The use of the music is perfect! Thankyou! PS. That scene of The Baron with his bald head 0:55, looks exactly like Marlon Brando from Apocalypse Now - "....the horror...."
My favorite shot was at the very beginning when Chani says “At nightfall, the spice harvesters land” got chills when I saw that shot. Just in awe of what was to come. 1:50 👈
Yes, that shot reminded me of Beksinski. One of my favorite artists. I thought if the whole movie is packed with that kind of imagery, it's a winner. I also love the shot with the myriad of fire bombs shot from the harvester and crashing down on the Fremen. That whole prologue set the visual mood for what was to come.
This movie was truly epic and see and watch. It’s very majestic and grand so I hope it wins an Oscar for best cinematography. Great job capturing its essence!

5:20 has to be one of the most amazing shots I have seen. This dream sequence where Paul sees himself as Emperor and having defeated every enemy just looking over his Fremen army celebrating, while standing atop the hovering ship and the wind sweeping over his robes.
Truly a masterpiece that will be studied for years to come, Denis Villeneuve doesn't miss !!!
this was an incredible imax experience
I hope its one of those movies that gets a re release every once and a while
@@drunkdonutboy don't know why they don't do re releases all the time.
I want to watch the lort trilogy and interstellar in the big screen.
Indeed, it was AMAZING.

I regret not watching it at Imax, and I hope I still alive to see the second part with Imax experience
With Dune and Blade Runner 2049, Villeneuve really gave meaning to the expression "every frame a painting".
Seriously. Every single sequence is aesthetic perfection.
I've been eagrly waiting for this because Dune is by far the most beautifully made movie I've seen in my life!!! 😍😍 Whoever has a chance to see it in IMAX please do so, you won't be dissapointed!
I definitely wasn't, most visually stunning movie I've seen this year!
So long as it fills the screen to full capacity in IMAX I am happy.
Yeah I saw it in IMAX, not Dual Laser sadly, closest one to me is 9 hours away, but this digital theater was gigantic the screen was 45 ft high and 80 ft wide! About as close as I can get to real IMAX!
we are about to lunch a petition, cause here in hungary they only stream it with the Hingarian dub (and its also in imax 3d lmao)
@@abelfeher6393 ja.. baszki, ezért néha nem szeretem mikor szinkronizálni akarnak minden kurva filmet.. like bruh.. bárcsak bírnánk választani hogy akarunk magyarul vagy angolul nézni a filmet..
Dune and Bladerunner 2049 are the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen. Villeneuve is a genius.
And ‘Arrival’. So majestic
The harvester rescue sequence, followed by Dr Kynes' praise / prayer, has such an incredible impact on me. I watched the film three times in the theater mainly for that scene, and I got goosebumps every single time. I am 35 yo and I've seen all the scifi films out there. That whole scene gave me a different kind of chills. The tension, the rush, the visions, the reveal, the prayer, the soundtrack, the acting... I hadn't felt anything like that for decades.

I don't understand why No Way Home fans complain that they got robbed when Dune Visual Effects is far superior by a mile
Every shot looks like it came from a concept art book.. everything's so beautiful
it's so minimalist but still vast, decorative and tasteful. It's almost like graphic design. In a lot of ways reminds me of traditional Japanese culture..
5:40 I only just noticed the sand worm breaking out from the sand behind Paul. That was so badass!!!
Villeneuve has such an incredible eye.
That's disrespectful to the cinematographer and his team. Why is all credit given to the director?!
@@fto3367 yep but actually it's a directer who asks those kind of shots
Bro that transition to Eclipse was just peak satisfaction omg
I don’t think there’s a single shot in this movie that isn’t beautiful
The credits, my dude.
Maybe the part, when the Baron takes a bath... i would'nt exactly use the word ''beautiful'' for this one 😅
5:41 That CGI of the mask opening and the facial expression behind it. Timotee Chamalet seems to have exactly one facial expression.
Guys I think we just witnessed a modern masterpiece of film making.. I've seen it twice in theaters. I want to see it again..

Well-deserved Oscar for Cinematography and Amazing Shots
Well-deserved Win for Hans Zimmer for this unique Music

I love your videos, but there's something you have to work on I make screenshots while watching your Videos. But if there's this Channel botton down in the right corner, it's hard to make one on your smartphone.
Some there was another channel I had been subsribed to. He made Videos just like you, but he hadn't had that button down there in the right corner. You may change that. Would be cool.

Yes I agree. The images are also more powerful on a big screen.
2:20 I wouldn't say this is the best shot because there are sooo many good ones from this film, but this one is one of the best. The way Paul is framed to the side, the beautiful scenery, the ships floating casually in the background. Beautiful.
3:50 Another worthy mention.
Every scene in this film is a visual masterpiece. Denis Villeneuve outdid himself. This film absolutely deserves and needs extended /director's cut. I suggest that under each interview Denis Villeneuve leave Hashtag #DUNEextendedcut or #DUNEdirectorscut
Denis has stated that what we saw in theaters is the directors' cut
no need
I just wanna say the costume design was on fucking point too, like lady jessica's dress when arriving on Arrakis was fucking stunning in the wind and just the designs for everything
So glad the sequel was confirmed for fall 2023. Ah I can’t wait to see the conclusion of this fantastic story.
Denis villnuve is a masterful director
I still cant wrap my head wround how AMAZING this movie was. Truly a masterpiece
This movie should take home the Oscars for cinematography, visual effects, and score.
@@dariussalepetru6770 it would be nice if it cleans house like Return of the King
Dune has to win academy awards for best visual effects, cinematography and soundtrack or whatever the award is. This movie is a treat to everyone's eyes.
This movie is one of the most visually beautiful movies I have seen in a long time. Probably the most beautiful one I have ever seen
1:15 the atmosphere, lighting, and the costume design of the bene-gesserits are just immaculate. Not to mention hans zimmer’s brilliant score used in that scene.
This was my fav segment of the movie
0:07 I think the shot when they've just arrived in Arrakis along with the score from Hans Zimmer is so epic!
BAGPIPES
And it did win Oscar's Best Cinematography award, it wouldn't have made sense if it hadn't tbh
This movie is incredible in every aspects. It set the highest standard for the future scifi movie.
When I saw this movie for the first time O was struck by the beauty and awe of Space ship. The incredible size and scope of it. So simple yet mysterious. 10 minutes into the movie I was hooked. Just wow.
Highly recommend this movie to everyone.
0:33 favourite shot of the movie. It just stood out in IMAX
3:21 That shot is just excellent.
This entire scene is an excellent example of depicting sheer bloody violence in formal bounds of PG-13. Duke Leto is helplessly lying here "naked and far from home", he is depicted as absolute victim, though there is no vulgar torture. It's a masterpiece, definitely.
This is truly a movie that is made for big screen experience or just anywhere. Absolutely magnificent
This is the video that made me buy the movie. I'm so glad I saw this because I've been obsessed with the lore of Dune ever since. Truly a remarkable series and I CANNOT wait until the upcoming sequels!
Dune is a cinematic masterpiece
Transition at 4:23 from Paul's Dream to Eclipse was just flawless 👌
what I find amazing is just how what I pictured in my head while reading the book long ago, is exactly what is portrayed in the film.
The entire movie was a compilation of amazing shots
I think I've just had an eargasm. And a eyegasm. These amazing shots combined with Dune OST combined with Eclipse from Pink Floyd are a true wonder. Now I can die peacefully (but in a lot of decades please).
ah ah ah! you didn't say pretty please :P

The camera is "upside-down" showing the ships "rising up" to Arrakis, giving the illusion that House Atreides is progressing upwards when the reality is that it is the beginning of their downfall.

Not really the downfall, house Atreides becomes god.
I see it as Arrakis being heavy, weighing down on outworlders.
3:23 I had chills for a solid 2 minutes when this cue hits as Paul touches spice for the first time.
The best visuals I have seen in a big screen. That’s for sure

My favorite shot was at the very beginning when Chani says “At nightfall, the spice harvesters land” got chills when I saw that shot. Just in awe of what was to come. 1:50 👈
Ooh then the dolly up shot revealing the Fremen is framed so beautifully
Yes, that shot reminded me of Beksinski. One of my favorite artists. I thought if the whole movie is packed with that kind of imagery, it's a winner. I also love the shot with the myriad of fire bombs shot from the harvester and crashing down on the Fremen. That whole prologue set the visual mood for what was to come.
