Hey! Thanks for rocking out and reacting to "Unpopular"! Appreciate your thoughts and thanks for listening to us for the first time! Get ready for more music coming with our new album "Revolution" on Nov. 1. 🎸
I first heard this song August 3rd when they played it live for us in concert. Skillet puts on a great live show, so if you ever get the chance to see them in concert I'd highly recommend it. Love Skillet, so many great hits...and wait til you hear the drummers voice. Recommendations: Awake and Alive, Hero, Feel Invincible, Monster, The Resistance, Legendary, Surviving the Game. Just to name a few.
You're in for a treat! Enjoy your dive into Skillet, and I hope to enjoy your journey via these reactions. They are an incredible band, certainly with kind of a signature sound, but a wide variety of styles. This is one of their more simplistic, straight-forward rock songs with a message (though after listening to it a few times, there is a good bit of subtle complexity, especially in the guitars). Jen is such an interesting drummer (this is probably the most simple drum part I've ever heard her play... and as someone else said, wait until you hear her sing on some of their other songs!). A bit ironically, they are incredibly popular, just not super mainstream. Top selling band, I think 11 albums, many platinums, most streamed rock song, etc. Recommendations? (not mentioning the ones I already see mentioned by Scott, which I'll 2nd): 'I Want to Live' is a song that really shows off their 'sound' from the last decade or so... strings, crunchy guitars, John/Jen vocal magic, super-catchy, epic feel, etc. I'm not sure why it isn't one of their top songs, but should be. 'Victorious' was written buy John as a tribute to Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. 'Stars' ('The Shack' acoustic version) if you want to check out a beautiful worship song. 'Whispers In the Dark' is an older song with incredibly catchy guitar riffs. 'Comatose' is a bit in the style of Awake and Alive, and is a super popular in-concert song. 'Not Gonna Die' is an incredible video & song. (They've also got some zombie/graphic novel type stuff too, like 'Back From the Dead' and 'Psycho in My Head') And, if you love Jen's voice, and want a real treat, check out this version of one of her solo project songs, 'My Arms' acoustic... just her at home on the couch with acoustic guitar backing, but it shows off her vocal abilities. Chills and goosebumps in all the best ways! ua-cam.com/video/KzobvltRzaQ/v-deo.html Enjoy!
U should also check out the songs from skillet like hero. Monster. Comatose. Back from the dead. Phsyco in my head. Survivor. Rebirthing. Awake and alive. They’re some of the awesome songs I love to listen to from them
Its a really good song calling out all the haters. I heard from their app that the guitars get really crunchy with lots of riffs, shreds and John even said the guitars get nasty in the new songs. Can’t wait for the new album November 1st. Check out their song Dominion. One of my favorites:) God Bless you bro great reaction 👍😎🙌

I can’t wait for the new album!!!
I need a new Skillet cd. I have one empty slot in my cd rack in the car. It's tough to take Rise out though.

I'll second the 'see them live' recommendation, they put on quite a show. They are just great people as well as incredibly talented.
I love skillet
