That definitely happens as a musician. when you first learn, you sound like your inspirations and those "accents " stay with you as you find your own sound. This song is so beautiful, and yeah you're right it feels straight out of Post Traumatic. Many do believe this song is in reference to Chester, well sang in the perspective of Chester. And I believe it because Mike was talking about how there were lyrics that he'd write with his perspective in mind after Chester would pour his emotions out, and that Chester would love when Mike refined his feelings into cool lyrics. It's in the Zach Sang podcast, and unless I'm misremembering, he said he did that here a few times, trying to channel that emotion. Great fucking album.
Shinoda in a podcast said that most of the songs in the album were written by him and sung by him, but when Emily came on board they split parts off that were for Emily only, some parts she sang as Mike wrote them. So, yes, this technically was a solo album for Mike at some point.
Man I was so so wrong about Emily. I wanted to hate her because no way I would want someone else replacing Chester but when I heard the album I couldn't help but appreciate how impactful Emily is in this band. But i think i can genuinely say that i like From Zero better like that any other album from Linkin Park. I've been listening to it non stop this week-end, and it's an absolute banger. I love all the nuances in Emily’s voice! Her soft tones are so smooth and beautiful. But then she crescendoes into this thunderous ROAR like a lion! And each song on this album showcases a different facet of her voice. It’s like looking into a diamond and watching it hit the light differently from different angles.

Seeing them on stage is so cool. Sometimes when she's going into a screamer he tells her to get her screaming pants on. The vibe of the whole band is fun and bringing the band back
For me from zero is among the 3 best Linkin Park albums, the position within that top will depend on the tastes of each person, what's more if you analyze the lyrics all the songs are related to human relationships except heavy is the crown which was made for league of legends, my favorite song is two faced followed by the emptiness machines and good things go, my best friend's favorite is stained, good things go and over each other more than anything because he is going through a breakup with his couple and felt identified with those songs, this shows that the band continues to have that touch to connect with our experiences, in the past it was with depression and problems of youth, this new era focuses us on facing the challenges of adults with fury and courage, members are older and see the world differently than 15 or 20 years ago
I was 28 when Linkin Park released Hybrid Theory. I bought the first 3 albums but ended up only listening to a handful of songs from each of those albums. Since then, have become a casual listener, only saving 1 or 2 favorites from albums to a playlist. Was never interested in going to a live show. I love every single song on this album. I plan to attend a live show next summer. So yea, this is my favorite LP album.
From Zero allows LP to honor and respect the legacy of the band while giving it space to be authentic to what it is post-Chester. I am beyond excited they have done this and already have tickets for a show in September 2025.
If today I'm 27 years old and have lived here, it's because one day, at the age of 13, I discovered Linkin Park, this band gave a little more meaning to my emptiness and I will be eternally grateful
On the topic of "best" and "worst", I think From Zero is the "best" to connect to adult me, whereas the previous Linkin Park chapter, the Chester era, was the best to connect to teen me, and that's kind of what's beautiful about the evolution of this band. They grew up with all the kids they saved back in the aughts. I don't think they actually have a "worst" album, honestly. @UnfilteredReactions while a song or two of the main singer singing ill never knock, but for me Linkin park is at their best when they're rap and rock combined
From a musician’s perspective, the part that got me in this song is Mike’s last verse. As he sends this album off, that choice of starting the verse on a IV chord just hits home, and that made me feel something special. Add Mike’s progressing rap to top the final verse. Cherry on top! ❤❤
Ive noticed that this is the only song on the album that is on most peoples favorite list! It breaks down genre walls and is just good! An instant Classic!
This track wrecked me 😢 it's a completely Mike and Emily song.. Fort Minor Feat. Emily Armstrong is a solid reaction. It's a perfectly bittersweet ending to the album, it's still LP to me but I understand where you're coming from.
To be honest, I love HT & Meteora when it came out. Now after more than 20 years...both albums has just become a nostalgia and noise . I prefer deeper emotional songs as I aged. OML, ATS and all their softer songs. Hence.. Good Things Go is my fav in a very long time.
Love your reaction to this album. I’m glad to see you liked a lot of it. So, here is my top five album list. Now that doesn’t mean it’s their top five best albums just my top five favorite album.. 1. Hybrid theory 2. The hunting party 3. Meteora 4. Minutes to midnight 5. From zero
There isnt a bad song on the album. I can listen to this album without feeling like i have to skip certain songs. I will say it makes me a little depressed though. Reminds me that im getting older and i miss the early 2000's. Completely different time. Ps2, LP, friends, etc.
It’s understandable to have expectations low when the face of the band goes and a new one comes in, though it also had the possibility to be great and surpass our expectations, which is exactly what this did, this was a damn good album, it’s sure to take a while to sink in, but on first listen I think was a positive step.
I like female lead singers. Having said that can you checkout Band Maid ‘Puzzle’ official live mv please? Band Maid is an all female Japanese rock band that dresses up as cafe maids and shreds!🍺😆These ladies are no joke and play harder than most of the guys. Can I also get a shoutout for introducing them to you? If you like rock and metal then you’ll most likely love the Maids.🍺😁🤘🏻🕊️
Since my first listen to From Zero this is still my favorite song on the album. Lyrics cut too deep and both Mike and Emily were keeping their best vocal performance on this album for the end. Album as a whole is for me 10/10, as basically every album I can listen over and over again without skipping any song. Top 5 songs: Good Things Go Stained IGYEIH Casualty Two Faced
I can see why Mike chose Emily. She fits in perfectly. I have tobdissagree on this one not feeling like lp it felt OML LP. This album felt like a tribute to every LP era.
Same feeling for me Dan, didn't feel like it was an LP song, but I got the same feeling in Overflow. As someone pointed out, these two songs were produced by someone else (don't recall the name), so it would make sense!
Good things go... that's my number 1 song from this Album. there's not even any discussion about it. It's deep, relateable, resonating.... me. Basically the lyrics show how so much emotions can hurt you when you're not in control. Very BPD-related. From Zero in general.... A little bit on the fence for the lack of consistency. Very good songs but too much jumping genres and waaaaay to short
I disagree with it not feeling like linkin park since the chorus gave me Numb vibes which ironically was the meteora closer too so 🤷 what didn’t feel like linkin park to me was Stained but I absolutely love Stained sounds like Emily’s biggest vocal challenge in the album, but Good Things Go to me is this album’s Numb for sure especially when the final chorus is extended
For me, this song feels like it could have come from a different version of One More Light, but one that had some of that rock edge that the original album really didn't have. That mixed with Mike's post-LP work. As for the last album to have Mike rapping this much... probably Living Things? Hunting Party and ATS had a few songs, OML didn't have many, and he only raps twice on MtM. So it's either LT, or... fuck, Meteora.
For me the list is as follows: 1. Meteora 2. The Hunting Party 3/4. From Zero AND A Thousand Suns (I just cannot man) 5. Minutes to Midnight 6. Hybrid Theory 7. Living Things And I am by no means saying that any album is bad, because it isn't. That's just the order of my personal preference.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little bummed out that most reaction channels I've seen react to From Zero don't include the From Zero intro, because the first time I listened to it, almost had a fucking heart attack less than a second into the track because I was like, "Are they REALLY about to open this album with a cover of Fat Bottom Girls by Queen?" Look it up.
This song's always touchin' something in my soul. Not sure why. Overall a great song tho. My personal favourite in this album, probably in my top 10 songs from LP, but I do agree with you when you say that this is not their best album.
There is no one best album. I hate that people wanted LP to be pigeon holed as HT or Meteora only. I happen to really love this song and every song off One More Light. I really hated his close-minded critics who refused to see Pop as music. And Mikes latest solo album was so underrated.

Shinoda would never create a train wreck of an album
This is my favorite off this album. The 4 songs that I love from this are Bad Things Go, Stained, Heavy is The Crown, and Emptiness Machine.
Good Things Go é praticamente Wainting For The End parte 2! ❤️
there are some good dead sara songs you might like and are interested in emilys vocals more 🤩
To be honest, I love HT & Meteora when it came out. Now after more than 20 years...both albums has just become a nostalgia and noise . I prefer deeper emotional songs as I aged. OML, ATS and all their softer songs. Hence.. Good Things Go is my fav in a very long time.
That song made me fucking cry. I'm my book is that good!
Probably was a track he wrote for post traumatic. That was a solid album.
Love your reaction to this album. I’m glad to see you liked a lot of it. So, here is my top five album list. Now that doesn’t mean it’s their top five best albums just my top five favorite album..
1. Hybrid theory
2. The hunting party
3. Meteora
4. Minutes to midnight
5. From zero
As a longtime LP fan i feel you 100% that this is a no Linkin ParkISH song but its awesome! Peace
There isnt a bad song on the album. I can listen to this album without feeling like i have to skip certain songs. I will say it makes me a little depressed though. Reminds me that im getting older and i miss the early 2000's. Completely different time. Ps2, LP, friends, etc.
Good things go is so underrated button>>>>
Mike gives me chills lol love it
It’s understandable to have expectations low when the face of the band goes and a new one comes in, though it also had the possibility to be great and surpass our expectations, which is exactly what this did, this was a damn good album, it’s sure to take a while to sink in, but on first listen I think was a positive step.
Love the chorus of this song
Perfecttttt❤️
Such awesome commentary dude
@@Bubba-w5t 🤘🤘 appreciate that bro
It’s fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like female lead singers. Having said that can you checkout Band Maid ‘Puzzle’ official live mv please? Band Maid is an all female Japanese rock band that dresses up as cafe maids and shreds!🍺😆These ladies are no joke and play harder than most of the guys. Can I also get a shoutout for introducing them to you? If you like rock and metal then you’ll most likely love the Maids.🍺😁🤘🏻🕊️
I 💙 her
This and Heavy is the Crown are my favs from this Album
Since my first listen to From Zero this is still my favorite song on the album. Lyrics cut too deep and both Mike and Emily were keeping their best vocal performance on this album for the end.
Album as a whole is for me 10/10, as basically every album I can listen over and over again without skipping any song.
Top 5 songs:
Good Things Go
Stained
IGYEIH
Casualty
Two Faced
Did anyone else get the feeling this was a song about Chester or Mike's feelings about Chester and his passing?
I love this song❤
I can see why Mike chose Emily. She fits in perfectly. I have tobdissagree on this one not feeling like lp it felt OML LP. This album felt like a tribute to every LP era.
Мне кажется это лучшаяпесня с альбома, с душой
This is my fav song in the album. 2nd fav would be The Emptiness Machine with Heavy Is The Crown just behind. 4th in Two Faced
This is beautiful music 😍
best song of the album
1: Meteora
2: Hybrid Theory
3: Hunting Party
4: Minutes to midnight
5: From Zero

I disagree with it not feeling like linkin park since the chorus gave me Numb vibes which ironically was the meteora closer too so 🤷 what didn’t feel like linkin park to me was Stained but I absolutely love Stained sounds like Emily’s biggest vocal challenge in the album, but Good Things Go to me is this album’s Numb for sure especially when the final chorus is extended
From zero is definitely the third best album linkin park has put out
1. Meteora
2. Minutes to Midnight
3. Hybrid Theory
4. From Zero
5. Living Things
Emily's former band was Dead Sara
This is a really good one in my opinion I haven't heard the entire album yet though.
For me the list is as follows:
1. Meteora
2. The Hunting Party
3/4. From Zero AND A Thousand Suns (I just cannot man)
5. Minutes to Midnight
6. Hybrid Theory
7. Living Things
And I am by no means saying that any album is bad, because it isn't. That's just the order of my personal preference.
Best song on the album
This is why the band named this album from zero, because it literraly rap rock band 1st of all, so we hear a lot of mike rapping in this album
I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little bummed out that most reaction channels I've seen react to From Zero don't include the From Zero intro, because the first time I listened to it, almost had a fucking heart attack less than a second into the track because I was like, "Are they REALLY about to open this album with a cover of Fat Bottom Girls by Queen?"
Look it up.
Best track
My favorite song from m the album
This song's always touchin' something in my soul. Not sure why. Overall a great song tho. My personal favourite in this album, probably in my top 10 songs from LP, but I do agree with you when you say that this is not their best album.
There is no one best album. I hate that people wanted LP to be pigeon holed as HT or Meteora only. I happen to really love this song and every song off One More Light. I really hated his close-minded critics who refused to see Pop as music. And Mikes latest solo album was so underrated.
A love letter to Chester... IMO
