    I've heard LL swerve these questions before, so well done to the journalist for pinning him down to some specifics on current affairs!

      @XosaSun 2 місяці тому +2

      I think the interviewer was disingenuous and had a political agenda. Based on what I watched he didn’t elaborate on LL’s responses but seemed to just go through his checklist. I’m surprised he didn’t ask him about the gender pay gap.

    When I was growing up in the late 80s and early 90s, the woke era of rap and culture was PE, BDP, Pac, Brand Nubian, etc. Music like Self Destruction, Brenda's Got a Baby. Movies like School Daze and Boyz in the Hood. They were awakening me and my peers of that time to show us a better way via their respective art form. Now, these corny FoxNews types have flipped a term that was positive for my generation to something nefarious. I really wish Chuck or KRS-One or some hero from that era would go on that platforms, teach them. And take "woke" back. ✊🏽

    • @phylliskumi4355
      @phylliskumi4355 2 місяці тому

      The term woke predates the 1980s and 90s. It has been corrupted, like other ideas and terms African Americans coin, by white nationalists and wannabes. I prefer to use the term that was used at the time. For me, conscious is the word I will use.
