Now he just started 2 restaurants. Unfortunately bad timing for now. Cooking in the outback is so fun. I use my retro Coleman Stove or over the campfire.

I have to admit that I have purposely searched out camp cooking shows on UA-cam over the years and the best that I have found, bar none, is Fire To Fork featuring Australian Harry Fisher and his dog Fred. His chicken parmi is worth dying over and his fish wraps are so good (and yes, he uses kewpie mayonnaise) that I cook them at home regularly, not just as camping tucker.
Thanks so much for this recipe! We don’t eat fast food, so we have never had the pleasure of trying a Krystal burger here in TN, but we did have White Castle many years ago when we lived in Ohio. We have the beef in the freezer and can’t wait to try this for dinner tonight. 😊

I'm going to make these out the back of our Jeep in our back yard lockdown campsite sometime this week. I'm going to make one substitution though, Avocado oil. Sam the Cooking Guy was pretty clear about using avocado oil and I feel that he'll be judging me if I go off-piste. Also, I'm Australian so my knife will be considerably larger. I really enjoyed this video, good job
We make the sliders on Hawaiian buns and use half a dill Stackum's from Valasic. I eat tham plain, you can buy dusseldorf mustard on-line. It taste pretty close. Thanks for sharing.
In south Florida, us old timers would call that a Royal Castle burger. Whatever name ya call it. They're awesome. Thanks for showing us how it's done in the woods. Btw, how much hamburger did you use in the gallon bag.✌
I remember eating tons of those out of the shop on the Strip in Knoxville back in the day (usually after a long night of adult beverages). I used to get my refill of them in Memphis when visiting family. Then found their store in Hartsfield IAP. Sadly, I don't fly through Hartsfield anymore, family moved out of Memphis and Krystal doesn't want to compete with Whataburger. I was planning to try this same thing as you down at the coast in about a week. Unfortunately, that trip is cancelled due to the Beerbug. And it's just not the same to do it at home. Be safe. Cheers!

Ok, now this may be a bit blasphemous, and I was personally against it my whole life, but my wife was always putting thousand island dressing on her burgers.... I was the mustard guy. We bought a foofie brand of thousand island and I'm hooked. We get the frozen 1/3 pound Angus burgers from Costco. I'm sixty, started the 4x FJ40 camping gigs surfing Mainland Mex and Baja well before I was twenty, and managed to score a wife that had the appreciation of what we do almost thirty years ago. Stoked y'all take Caroline everywhere. What a way to grow up. PS We see Sam the cooking guy at the store all the time where we shop, and we'll try the Japanese mayo!
They're actually called krystal steamers & very delicious as a midnight meal or watching college or pro football with a cold beverage plus they use minced onions that you rehydrate in water plus you can also use King Hawaiian Sara lee Square or yeast rolls
Any tips on cleaning both the grill and the camp stove? Worst part about cooking anything that has grease is the splatter all over the stove. Thanks, love the channel and content.
I grew up eating White Castle “Sliders!” With our Jon rings and a chocolate shake. And Sam has a good channel. We watch all the time. All his ‘Lockdown Munchies” right now. @@LifestyleOverland if you use more onion the water cooking out of the onion will steam the burgers, cheese ,and bun! I think the recipe videos are really cool, you might have to do a monthly cooking video or something like that
I too like Sam the Cooking Guy and I have a feeling he would have toasted the buns since he toasts everything but you didn't bring that $4,500 round grill that he has. Gees! The Mayo, I have looked for that many times and just feel weird ordering food from Amazon. I know, makes no sense. I will stick with yours.

The Crystal and White Castle are actually steamed as they cook on a bed of onions. They dont touch the grill if you watch them cook them.

Cool zip lock trick, stores easy and the meat cooks fast even if your not making krystal or a castle. Just cut'em a little bigger and make a double!
