Your timing is spot on. I'm planning a solo trip for 4 weeks living out of my Jeep. I'm not a cook but simple recipes like this really help. Thanks.

I love biscuits and gravy but haven't tried using chorizo...which I love as well with scrambled eggs and hash browns. This has been a great morning picking up three of your breakfast recipes, Sarah. At this time Amazon is out of stock on your oven ($38) but will be in stock by the end of this month. I have two single burner Coleman stoves but I will order one of the Camp Chef dual burners.

I use the cheap tube of chorizo and add flour to make a Roux before adding milk. My kids love it and it's so simple.

I like the new version of the intro music. I just tried this recipe. Even though it may not be the healthiest for most people, for those of us on the Keto diet this is perfect. I had to substitute the biscuit with a carb friendly tortilla. I'm not good at baking my own Keto type bread, so the burrito will have to do.Tried it with some Mexican style shredded four cheese. Double yum.

Heck yeah. Add flour to the rendered grease instead. Better flavor than corn starch. Lovin the cooking videos. Thanks for sharing.

Have you checked out the Camp Chef stove/oven ( I think they call it a coven ) ? It's bigger and heavier but it bakes great !!
I have one, fulltime in a van, and use a Gazelle Gazebo for my camp kitchen, works great for me and was cheaper than your combination. Well worth using if you have room and like to bake.

Try getting some welder blanket, cut to fit around the Colman stove, holds heat so much better.

the camp chef looks great but looks like its more flexible than the partner steel housing. is it thinner metal than your other stove? and welded also? just wandering. and oh price and what model that comes close to it in cook partner.

We have a local BBQ restaurant that serves on metal plates and the food always seems to cool down before you can finish it, is that what you have found to be the case with your metal plates?

    • @LifestyleOverland

Spanish style chorizo is a good option for camping. It's a dry style unlike Mexican chorizo so it doesn't require refrigeration. IMO it has a better flavor profile because the spices have had time to concentrate.

Add 1/4 to 1/3 cup all purpose flour to the meat when frying it then add a can of non sweetened condensed milk instead of cream. Even better plus you don't have to refridgerate the canned milk

Looks awesome, however, biscuits and gravy are traditionally made with all-purpose flour and whole milk.
    1 lb of sausage, browned
1/3 cup of all-purpose flour sprinkled in after sausage browns
2 cups of whole milk added after flour absorbs rendered fat
stir on medium heat until thickened

Galen Perkins and their vehicles have Tennessee plates on them. They know that once the meat is cooked they need to put some flour in there as the thickener before adding milk.

It came from europe to the americas, it is the same pig sausage the romans made the brits eat in the past. Cinnamon and spice and everything nice, just leave out the squeal. It is SOS (sh1t on shingle) just biscuit instead of toast. But I cannot believe a southerner doesn't add flour to the gravy first it is almost blasphemy to hear corn starch, that is something a New Yorker would do.
