Great content guys! I love the camp cooking videos. My kids always say, we eat better camping than we do at home. I can’t wait to make this for them. Keep’em coming, we’re followin’ . Be safe out there!
Great new series to add to your online presence! A very nice differentiator for your channel. Great job MrsLifestyleOverland (and props to your Editor as well!)
Yum, Looks awesome. Another option is to use a cast iron skillet or dutchoven with a heavy lid. Preheat the pan over a burner with the lid on, pop the pizza inside , turn the burner to low or medium. The heat from the heavy iron lid will radiate back on the pizza the pizza.
You can also put the pizza down in the base of the cook partner with the griddle on the top to created an enclosed oven. You just need a pair of pliers (or something) to move the grate and burners. The enclosed effect cooks evenly.
I love making this bread: In a quart zip-lock freezer bag put 7.5 oz (1.5 cups) flour, 1/4 tsp yeast, 3/4 tsp salt and 3/4 cup water. Close bag and knead to mix. Open one tiny hole in bag. Set upright in a safe place for 5-8 hours. It will bubble up but not overflow bag. When ready to cook, drizzle oil in frypan. Zip bag closed, push dough about 1 inch away from bottom and cut across bottom of bag so that you can squeeze the dough out into the frypan. Dab fingers into oil in and and press out dough to make it even in pan. Cover and let set for 30 minutes. Put on medium heat and let cook covered for 10 minutes (edges should be dry and top bubbly-- sort of like a huge pancake). Flip over and cook with no lid for an additional 5 minutes or until brown and crispy. Let cool as long as you can stand it, then enjoy the yeasty fresh bread goodness and know that all is right with the world. :)
Great video, good job! I didn’t know you guys had a Snomaster fridge/freezer until now. I have a 42L... it’s a godsend and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
Did mine in a dutch oven but that was hard to get out the bottom so I reversed the top and bottom which was slightly easier. However your way requires less equipment and time. Looked fantastic. Wonder if Publix pizza dough would work as well.
Just found your cooking channels from @lifestyleoverland IG advise!!! Still putting all your families wonderful news together from multiple social media resources you are on. Again, Many Thanks for sharing this with all of us. 👩🍳 🥪🥚🥚🍳🔪
Great video and awesome job..! We have done trail pizza too. If my wife doesn’t have time make the Pizza dough. We buy it from the local pizza shop. 👍🏻
We love camp pizza, we do just about the same as you, but we use tortilla's instead of crust. We always have tortilla's in our camp since we love doing tacos and they make great sandwich wraps and stay better then bread. You get a much thinner crust (I would prefer pizza crust I like a thick crust). The tortillas fit perfect in a pan with a lid to melt everything as well.
Tried glancing through the comments but didn't see the answer. What brand griddle is that? Most are thin aluminum with handles or thick cast iron with no handles but yours is actually thick and has handles
Pizza looks great! Question on your fridge cooler setup. Why do you have it inside the 4Runner instead of on the turtleback? We are setting up our rig and have the option to put the fridge cooler inside the vehicle or on the trailer. We were thinking about putting it on the trailer, but I'm curious of the benefits of having it in the vehicle. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks! We keep the fridge in 4Runner for two reasons. 1) If we basecamp then our food and drinks go with us for picnics, etc. 2) The 4Runner is a climate controlled environment so the fridge doesn't have to work as hard to keep things cool. The compressor puts off heat and will eventually be working against itself in the trailer storage area.
Awesome! Thank you so much for the quick reply. I think that is a great idea, so into the rig it goes. I just subscribed to your channel and catching up on all your videos. Big thumbs up!!!
Veggie tacos 🌮 black beans white beans chili beans purple onions white onions red peppers Green peppers cilantro avocado black olives A little salt and pepper and Tumerick And A lilttle Hot sauce please try this very good keep up the good work great videos
Hey guys, can you tell me what brand of plates you use - the big metal ones? I saw you eating breakfast on them (on youtube) when Chris Shontz came up to you..Are they snowpeak/msr or something else? I love big plates!
You did great, there's tons of camp cookbooks available.I keep cast iron on hand as well. But I have a challenge for you.Caroline seems to be a picky eater. With saying that come up with recipes and videos for your solution.Youd be helping tons of parents.Good luck.
What kind of griddle is that???where can one..thats a great start to a new venture in outdoor cooking...now for a name...the outback gourmet...sizzling with Sarah....lifestyle gourmet...who knows...hi caroline!!!!
Our camp pizza involves taking half a pita bread, inserting pizza sauce and toppings inside, wrapping it with foil and heating it over a camp fire. Easy, but not as delicious as yours.
This is awesome! Please post more camp cooking videos!
