Arceus was the first game since I have bought since USUM, convinced me to buy a switch and all, it’s the most fun I personally have had on a Pokémon game since I have been old enough to judge what is good and not good.
Has its bugs but deserves a lot of respect, helped a nearly 30 year old live out the Pokémon hunter dream from my childhood

In terms of story, that's a tough one for me. Arceus felt kind of like a story that was being told to us. From the moment it began, you could feel a sense of tension. It certainly wins in terms of atmosphere.
SV, on the other hand, releases the tension a bit and is definitely a story we're experiencing but it's also given us a lot to ruminate on, especially in regards to the DLC. It also made me feel more attached to the characters.

That's an easy question to answer. YES! Yes it is. Legends: Arceus is better than Scarlet and Violet in literally every aspect except the maybe the twist ending. It plays better, it looks better, the world is better, than Pokemon in the overworld are better. It amazing the think Scarlet and Violet came after Legends: Arceus because it's such a massive downgrade in every aspect.

For me Scarlet and violet, ignoring the bugs and performance issues, felt like such a great development to the pokemon games since XY. The writing was good, they didnt entirely just shoehorn it to be for kids, all the characters had so much depth and all the designs were well researched tbh. PLA is def the better game in terms of performance and new game antics, but as a pokemon fan returning to the games after years, the new mechanisms did throw me off for quite a while and the lack of human interaction made it feel empty stimes. And the plot devices like being stuck in the past, fighting the frenzied nobles and all felt rather forced. Nevertheless it was a very enjoyable experience and I hope Gamefreak goes in the direction they're going with rn except not rush anything anymore.

    For me it’s fairly simple:
I gave up on Legends Arceus while in the 4th area because I got bored of doing the same stuff over and over and just didn’t feel any connection. I never had a fully consistent team of Pokémon because it encouraged switching them out all the time to get new research.
In comparison I’ve already finished SV twice and I’m half-way through a 3rd, and I’ve used completely different teams each time. I love all of the characters and the story that goes along with it. Despite how poorly optimised it is, it’s better in every other regard for me

For me I personally I prefer Legends Arceus for only two reasons, free throwing PokeBalls (literally the one feature I wanted in the games for years) and faster battling animations (now this doesn’t mean battle system as I’m honestly neutral about both of them but just imagine the speed & smoothness of entering and leaving and actually battling in Legends Arceus, now think of that but the battle system is like how Scarlet & Violet is. If they did that in Scarlet & Violet then it could’ve made a good argument for me to prefer that over Legends Arceus but it didn’t).
The other stuff about those two games I’m personally neutral about, even though I can make logical decisions on noticing which game is better at certain things my overall enjoyment and honestly what I care about is just neutral

    • @ConnerTravis1998
      @ConnerTravis1998 Рік тому +1

@@kelvinvelez1053 fairly good honestly, I say on par to how good Pokemon Black & White and Black 2 & White 2 are on a comparable level (as on a technical standard the Gen 5 games were the best story written Pokemon games before Legends Arceus and Scarlet & Violet were a thing with I will say that now currently Scarlet & Violet are now the best story written Pokemon games).
I say the downside you will need to complete the post game of Legend’s Arceus to get the full story (especially one of the hardest battles in Pokemon to date) since well you can’t get Arceus until you complete the post game anyway so similar to how Sword & Shield treated its box Legendary Pokemon (though unlike Sword & Shield with way more depth). Why that is a downside is because depending on the player a potential player might not like completing post game stuff and only focus on the main game which that type of player might find distasteful if they don’t get the full story in the main story of the game. But that’s honestly the only downside to Legends Arceus story, the only other downside is if you already know you are not a fan of the general Pokemon storylines then I lead to why I used the Gen 5 games for a comparable storyline as it’s to show that it’s definitely one of the better ones but I don’t think it would be strong enough to convince someone that doesn’t like a Pokemon storyline to actually properly like the storyline (they might at the very least say it’s definitely better compared to most Pokemon games but compared to other games in general they will definitely heavily nitpick it)

My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Violet, I bought it around the time the first DLC released. It's never crashed on me, i've only had a couple goofy bugs (mostly involving Myraidon landing in a janky corner). I had a blast playing it I still do. The DLC was great, though it didn't leave much to grind after catching the Legendaries.
Legends Arceus is my 2nd mainline Pokemon game, and it really has blown me away so far. I love everything from the crafting system to the leveling system to the Dark Souls style boss battles. It makes me want another game in the same style, from the same time period (150-200 years ago) but in a different region.
Both games are really great in my opinion. The story in both games have surprisingly mature themes for Pokemon, but I appreciate their willingness to go there. Scarlet/Violet is an excellent introduction to the franchise, where Legends Acreus is a more challenging offering for gamers of any age.

One thing Arceus has over SV is side quests, but SV had more trainer battles. Arceus has more interesting catch mechanics as well, and more of an emphasis on catching and researching over battling. If SV had more research tasks like Arceus and more side quests, it would have been the better entry.

I loved both games for different reasons. SV’s open world was a completely ‘new’ experience and the nonlinearity made these games feel like it could be replayed multiple times and have a differing experience each time. The story was also refreshingly new.
On the other hand I loved the art style of PLA and the reimagining of a beloved region that sets the basis for future potential stories of other regions (Johto/Kanto & Sinjoh Ruins anyone?). Although repetitive, I enjoyed the story and climax of PLA. I also enjoyed the additional interactions with mons in the open world and the fact that battles are not required for capture. It’s as if they perfected the formula from Pokémon Go. This translates to a new experience that is more strategic than the traditional catching mechanic.

Wow I had a completely different experience with SV than you did, I felt like it was linear as hell, like there's no level scaling for the gyms or anything else so it's unless you wanna go back and just one shot everything in previous gyms then you're pretty much left with doing them in a specific order, I hated how you were given the box legendary and how it was basically your HM slave, not so much because the BOX LEGENDARY was relegated to a HM slave but because I felt like it overshadowed my entire team without even being on it, didn't make it a very pleasant experience, especially since its so prevalent in the story because of how big and empty the map is I'm either forced to use it to make traversale better or I'm forced to suffer through the slog fest of simply walking through the region, no matter what I do there's no avoiding an issue cause others just take its place
Plus the game just looks horrible to me, PLA is kinda bad in some ways but the art style is keeping it from becoming a negative, SV just looks like they've taken assets from multiple different games from multiple different console generations, plus there's just no fun PvE or single player content to do besides the typical story stuff, like no battle frontier, no quests like in PLA, it honestly feels so empty and devoid of any enjoyment while PLA I can enjoy for the most part

I like the story and characters more in SV…I like the friend group especially Arven, and for the first time I truly cared about the box legendary because he was with us the entire game and all it’s cutscenes showed off it’s adorable personality
The story was really good in Arceus, but i didn’t feel personally attached to any particular character. I liked them, just didn’t have that connection like with Arven or Koraidon. I do think the gameplay allows you to create a deeper bond with your Pokémon tho, because of the dangers of the outside your Pokémon are your only line of defense against everything that seemingly wants to kill you. The trainer battles are really tough too, so when I just barely managed to win a 3 on 1, it felt like I was in the anime where you can win by sheer determination..By the end I was really attached to my typhlosion since he had been there through my struggles since the beginning, and when I got kicked out of the village my very first thought was “at least I still have my Pokémon”.
I had a overall better time with arceus. I love sv, and it’s in my top 3 but the only thing holding it back is the poor performance/glitches, and the things not brought from arceus like the smooth catching system.

I love the open world idea of s/v, it makes for the best iteration of Pokémon ever created. But something about arceus makes it the best game game freak/Nintendo has ever produced for the Pokémon franchise. I loved the focus being on catching rather than battling, I LOVE the hisuian forms and I love the graphics. May not have been the most impressive but the art style is crazy good. Also that sinnoh was my favorite region next to kanto (and that’s only cuz I’m an og r/b/y player)

Having played neither yet but knowing a lot about them, I'd say it comes down to preference. Arceus is more of a spin off focussed on lore and history of pokemon with cool new features and approach, whereas SV is ur standard mainline game but with the open world, quest, and coop twist. I think Arceus definitely stands strong tho, whether its better or not, just because of less bugs, better performance, and trying something new.

I will say I prefer Scarlet & Violet more than Arceus since I speculated that if Arceus has some of the features that S&V has it would probably have the same issues like it's future predecessor has. Like how if the game were to be played up to 4 players it would have the same performance issues as well. Not to mentioned how the lack of battles (meaning other AI trainer battles) aren't as prevalent in the game like S&V. Honestly Arceus is more showcase for older fans who grew up playing the same Pokemon game throughout the years having to just roamed around and just catching Pokemon and somewhat taking in the story seriously whereas S&V tries to differentiate both of those things making it feel more like a true Pokemon game.
While I do love both of these games they aren't exactly my personal favorites, I do happened to like S&V a bit more than Arceus mainly for all the new Pokemon here. However that being said Gen 7 SM/USUM will always be my personal favorite best Pokemon game to me.

I think Arecus is leaps and bounds better. Scarlet and Violet feels like a Ps3 type era game. It tries to have this open world but just does nothing interesting with it other than just having Pokemon all over it. There's no real reason to explore beyond finding whatever Pokemon you need. Arecus suffers from this a little but at the very least it has quest givers, whisps to collect and Alpha pokemon which have WAY more appeal than the god awful terra system. Story was much better especially since it helped explore the lore of Pokemon a lot more. I think people like Scarlet and Violets story because of the last two hours when the game finally decided to be intersting and the Professor battles were cool. I think people ride that high and call it a day.
The story in it was extremely repetetive, each arc was just doing each scene over and over and over again. Gym path was a generic story as it ever is about how you are gonna be the best,
Team Star was just penny debreifs you, lol not clavell, oh you beat me now I am gonna complain about being bullied. Which is fine, but it just got old after hearing the 2nd person complain. And I felt no connection to penny because she barely talks to you beyond giving you the same orders at each base.
Arvins was the only one that felt like it was the actual stroy to the game as it at least was consistent and was the POLAR opposite of Team star. Where you learned more and more about him, his situation, what happened to his Mastiff and etc. Where team star basically just told you the same thing just from someone elses expirence. And it actually lead to being meaningful to the actual ending of the game. It's so crazy people say the story is so good but when you compare it to all the other games and B/W being the only other game with a decent story then anything that makes any small attempt seems amazing I guess...

My weird opinion is that I think arceus is objectively the better game- it's more polished, has a better gameplay experience, better UI and quality of life features, it's much smoother, and brought much more to the franchise in terms of experimentation. And yet...I've sunk significantly more time into SV. Maybe because it's the mainline game and has a bit more of a post game with the 7 star raids and competitive scene, but I've easily amassed over 90 hours and still going where I barely hit 65 in Arceus. Shiny hunting just wasn't enough to keep me engaged after finishing the post game. So overall I think I prefer SV, but Areceus is better.

The main issues I find with Scarlet and Violet is the fact that they're issues that were already resolved in past games or something you would think they would've dealt with by now.
The performance is STILL garbage, despite... what is this, the 4th Pokemon game they've made? Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee was fine. They rushed ILCA to produce BDSP and that game doesn't shit itself during a sandstorm.
You can't make the argument of "Well Let's Go and BDSP had simple graphics" because Scarlet and Violet ain't exactly top tier in that department either. The environments are butt ugly.
If Legends Arceus had proper multiplayer. Co-op and Battles, I honestly wouldn't care for Scarlet/Violet. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't go beyond post game and maybe DLC.

I think the answer really depends on your preferences and experiences.
As a 35 years old man that is here trully since the begining, that insane "realism" and freedom of PLA's exploring and catching mechanicis is all that I could have asked for since my childhood, and It makes me love the game more than anything and replay it indefinitely. Simple like that.
But, also, as a really obsessed fan of the main games, having the single best story of all gens (simple, a bit childish and silly sometimes, but so darn well written, with awesome characters, dialogues, and animations, for the first time since 3d era started), with that big open world, lots of amazing New mons to use.... How not to bem Thrilled?
I could never pick a favorite, they both made me immensely happy for different reasons. The ideal world would be a New game with all these strenghts combined. I can see why anyone would prefer PLA and also SV, and I would simply agree with wherever they said! The decision ia really that personal, what one prefers

    • @luizfelipevieira1158
      @luizfelipevieira1158 Рік тому

@Brandy Marie like I said, It depends on what you prefer. PLA is a single player and finite game, there's not a lot to do besides the main story, but it's the single best experience I ever had because of the capture method, the freedom of being able to just stealthly catch the mons without the annoying need of a battle, etc.... But SV, besides the unbelieable amount of glitches, is the best main game ever, plus the raids, online battling and etc. I collect ALL the versions, so I have them all. If you're in doubt, watch some gameplay videos! They can help you choose better.
Ask me anything else if you want, too!

I still stand by my opinion that Legends Arceus is the better game. Better catching mechanics, better combat mechanics, better character movement, better shiny indicators, shiny sprites showing up in your storage box, more mount variety, better gliding mount experience, alpha Pokemon, one version of the game (no two version crap), performance is much better and overall stabilized.
What does Scarlet and Violet do better? Better Pokedex, better open world exploration, more new Pokemon since it's a mainline game, better shiny odds experience overall and easier to hunt (unless you're colorblind), co-op, online battles, breeding and raiding.
The issues in Scarlet and Violet may seem small, but many of them pile up to form a mountain of problems. The most annoying is trying to run away from a battle just to end up caught in another battle immediately after running away and having that sometimes loop anywhere between 2-5 times, depending on the location. Legends Arceus has very few annoying issues. I can't remember any of them as of this writing, but I'm sure there were some problems. Not enough to lower my opinion of it though.

Arceus is definitely my favourite "mainline" game, it's the first one I ever bought too with Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX as fav spinoff (played red on an emolator years ago on like half the speed but still loved so had to get the remake n I love the art style of it)
I've somehow spent tons of hours exploring the Arceus world and yet somehow still found new areas in it pff. I had a blast playing the game and thought I finished it before the updates for it were released but I later found out that there's more stuff with Volo n stuff but after I borrowed it to my best friend so didn't finish that yet. I love the crafting feature and putting all my savings into the guy with inventory upgrades pfff. Wild pokemon feel like such a threat, sneaking around and throwing pokeballs but if they break out you run just far enough that they leave you alone and repeat pff. I loved sending my pokemon out to get resources n stuff, I'd go get as many lost items as possible on a map n had memorized each part of the first area so I knew exactly when to turned where to gather tumblestones (is that what they were called?) while in violet I'm legit like okay LETS GO KILL THEM ALL while I check my phone notifications as my pokemon get exp. Honestly wish that they would follow you and fight like that in Arceus cuz you can let them out but they just stay in that spot even tho they have walking animations and stuff....
Hecc now I want the game back, guess I better go finish shield n return it to my best friend to get Arceus bacc pff
