@@Magic_Ice yeah that one. It had a niche use in Gen 1. It had the highest speed stat in the game at the time. At least I think. I could be wrong on that, but it was pretty damn high. Therefore, we can agree that Normal and Psychic types were broken af in Gen 1. I wish a Gen 1 Elite Four had a normal type trainer to show the difficulties
Even just 2 of the big 3 normals would have been more difficult than any of the other trainers but gen 1 ai still was not very good Please replace bruno lol
@@Teasquared27 Bruno could work for Gen 2 or as a recurring character to fight in Gen 1. I was thinking Agatha would've been replaced due to Ghost types being Ghost and Poison
Just the two onyx made no sense. I know fighting types are awful Why not poliwrath at least? And instead of onyx why not a golem. Bruno was just a joke in the game in gen 1.
What about what if every Legendary, Mythical, Ultra Beast and Paradox Pokemon were used by an in-game Trainer each (one per Trainer)? Also maybe top 10 gimmicks Ash Pokemon should've used (Megas, Dyna/Gigamax, Z-moves) and in which fight those could've been used?:-) I, for example wanted Sirfetch'd to have Corkscrew Crash t beat Drasna's Mega Altaria. Ash Mega Evolving Gengar once or twice would've been nice. Giga Melmetal and Kingler would've been awesome. Infernape with Firium-Z would be really deadly (maybe to beat Cynthia Mega Garchomp). It sounds like a good what if list
Wow no mention of Nidoking thats unexpected. Same goes for Aerodactyl who i always find fun to use. Rock/Flying with solid attack, a good special and high topspeed. Gen 1 had its balance issues. The special stat itself was a big flaw since it counted for both offence and defence. That was the reason Alakazam was such a beast or indeed Mewtwo but hey Mewtwo is the strongest pokemon ever created. After the special split Alakazam became more a glass cannon, still a big threat but not impossible to handle. Then another downside of the first generations was the attack type determines what value it used, either Attack or Sp Att. Hitmonchan for example was terrible in gen 1, high attack but its elemental punches used its abysmal special stat. Gyarados had Hyperbeam to save its usefulness but also it has a high attack and low special making its water moves underpowered. Anyways these things have been fixed and alot of first gen pokemon have seen their usefullness increase since, Not to mention the abilities and other things that been added later to keep them relevant in current generations and not to be put on the shelf or to act as dex fillers.
Guys, help me out here. I'm taking part in a Pokemon tournament with a couple of friends. We are allowed to prepare 3 Pokemon up to lvl 25, nor foing beyond the 3rd arena. Please remember, only Pokemon allowed until I hit arena 3. Thanks guys! Your help is very much appreciated!!
You could theoretically drop chansey from a team and still be competitive but not having snorlax and tauros is a much more difficult ask Why eggy over starmie? Starmie is just too versatile and that’s why he edges out eggy for #4. Rhydon is zapdos only check and the best end game sweeper in competitive play if left unchecked. This list ranks them correctly, I would only move rhydon and jynx maybe ahead of cloyster but thats the only changes i can maybe have an argument for

Eh 😬 no not really... Ground type switch ins have something to say about that.. also, Slowbro is properly played in the late game, usually because with your plan, an Exeggutor or anything else with a sleep move just ruins your whole strategy. That kind of plan sounds like something that only works on the low ladder.

It can't even learn flamethrower in gen 1.. also if we're talking "best move pool" then look no further then Lickitung
You had me at gen 1 🤓
I like how you used the og art work
I'd like to see you do a video about eeveelutions and movesets
Nidoking for unpredictable moveset and slowbrow for amnesia setup.
I always had 2 snorlax in my party. 😄😄
Exeggutor getting that 4x leech life from ariados one shot every time
Ariados? 🤨
Other Honorable Mentions:
Tentacruel:
Reason: Same as Dragonite. Set up with wrap.
Nidoking:
Reason: Diverse move pool and decent stats
Electrode:
Reason: High speed stat + Explosion
Electrode? You mean that PU ball?
@@Magic_Ice yeah that one. It had a niche use in Gen 1. It had the highest speed stat in the game at the time. At least I think. I could be wrong on that, but it was pretty damn high. It’s use back then was since it almost always went first, it’s purpose was to explode on the target. It was niche in Gen 1. Outright useless nowadays
Call me a genwunner but damn do i love gen 1. Glitches, imbalances and all it WAS my childhood! Always will remember hunting for over level 100 Pokémon and being sure not to use them except in link cable battles
Therefore, we can agree that Normal and Psychic types were broken af in Gen 1. I wish a Gen 1 Elite Four had a normal type trainer to show the difficulties
Even just 2 of the big 3 normals would have been more difficult than any of the other trainers but gen 1 ai still was not very good
Please replace bruno lol
@@Teasquared27 Bruno could work for Gen 2 or as a recurring character to fight in Gen 1. I was thinking Agatha would've been replaced due to Ghost types being Ghost and Poison
Just the two onyx made no sense. I know fighting types are awful Why not poliwrath at least? And instead of onyx why not a golem. Bruno was just a joke in the game in gen 1.
Actually, ice types are also way up there (In Nintendo cup 1997 Blizzard had a 30% freeze chance)
Never knew Tauros was THAT good in gen 1. Lmao
Yep, Tauros was the king of gen 1
Only pokemon in the format that I personally think is broken and unhealthy
high speed works on normal as bodyslam can't paralyze them
I'm a huge wrestling fan so seeing Scott Steiner was absolutely amazing lol
Sadly Nidoking was in the NU class in the competitive scene while Aerodactyl was on the UU class
Absolute yappathon over here. Gyarados had 100 special in gen 1, same as Starmie and Dragonite. It’s water moves were fine.
Guys, help me out here.
I'm taking part in a Pokemon tournament with a couple of friends. We are allowed to prepare 3 Pokemon up to lvl 25, nor foing beyond the 3rd arena. Then we would fight against each other, have another 30min of game play and fight each other again. We are doing this 5 times.
What Pokemon should I use and which attacks should they know? Please remember, only Pokemon allowed until I hit arena 3.
Thanks guys! Your help is very much appreciated!!
*not going
Good list, but I would switch Rhydon and Zapdos, Exeggutor and Starmie, And Snorlax and Chansey
You could theoretically drop chansey from a team and still be competitive but not having snorlax and tauros is a much more difficult ask
Why eggy over starmie? Starmie is just too versatile and that’s why he edges out eggy for #4.
Rhydon is zapdos only check and the best end game sweeper in competitive play if left unchecked. This list ranks them correctly, I would only move rhydon and jynx maybe ahead of cloyster but thats the only changes i can maybe have an argument for
1.Keep sand attack on Eevee
2.evolve to jolteon
3. Teach thunder wave.
4. First in battle.
5 switch to mnesia slowbro after set up
6. Game done
Currently playing blue kaizo n the last challenge in victory road is 2 ace trainers with 6lvl 90 in a row.
Spent weeks thinkin if strategy. That was the only way
Eh 😬 no not really... Ground type switch ins have something to say about that.. also, Slowbro is properly played in the late game, usually because with your plan, an Exeggutor or anything else with a sleep move just ruins your whole strategy. That kind of plan sounds like something that only works on the low ladder.
@@terraSpark902 just before exit into elite 4 thers 2 ace trainers ina row with 6 level 90 mons.
This is specifically for that
@Joao Paulo Ferreira Campos Ig, but pretty much anything else would be fine too without taking several turns to set up
Content is good, but the sibilance is seriously detracting from the video. Hopefully fixed in later vids!
Yes for the Scott Steiner reference lol
Mystic! Why not continue this series with, top 10 strongest gen 1 Pokémon in gen 2 or gen 3 etc. so the best gen 1 Pokémon in the following games. then do the following gens
2:05 Sea Zubat is a perfect name for tentacool/cruel 😂😂😂
7:40 anyone using the Steiner Math meme gets a sub from me 😂❤
OMG! What a coincidence!
Jynx definitely deserves the top 10
Hey Mystic you should take inspiration from AlmightyMandals his top 10 are great
Most of us already know but I watch the video anyways
Nidoking is one of the best Pokemon in gen1
Moltres should have been an onorable mention at least
Hell yea
@@Historicutuber Its movepool is pretty barren and Fire isn't a great type in Gen 1. It still does a lot to Rhydon and Golem due to their low Special stats and a burn is punishing for them. Articuno arguably should've been since it's got the strongest Blizzards in the game. Unfortunately, its barren movepool holds it back a lot since it's hard-walled by Cloyster with the best it can muster against it being Hyper Beam as its Ice STAB is quad resisted.
No fire type should have made honorable mention. Moltres didnt even learn flamethrower, and since fire didn’t resist ice in gen 1 is weak to blizzard.
Can you please do this for Gen 2 as well? I’m about to re play crystal
Let's see, we got Snorlax, Snorlax, Snorlax, Snorlax, Snorlax.. and.. maybe Snorlax 🤔
