Darth Vader is the kind of person who would save a life by actually taking it.
He took the life's of the younglings so they wouldn't have to suffer palpatine's wraith
@WarMachine 9554 No he did that because Palatine told him to kill all jedi
WarMachine 9554 other wise he wouldn't join the sith in the first place
That is a form of mercy
@@Moon.Light..
You gotta kill kids to join the sith?
I think Vader also was angry at Obi-Wan for leaving him there on Mustafar to die slowly. I believe it was partially due to his disdain for what Obi-Wan did that made him possibly think to himself “I’m better than him, I finish the job.”
In that same comic, there is a panel of Vader’s thoughts:
*Back in the ROTS, Mustafar*
Obi-Wan: “I loved you Anakin, you were a brother to me!”
Anakin: “I hate you! If you truly loved me you would have killed me.”
Obi-Wan: “WOULD THIS HAVE BEEN BETTER ANAKIN?!” *throws him into the lava”
Vader, emerges from the lava: “YES”
Oh you think he was angry at Obi-Wan? You really think so? Hot take.
YOU THINK
It’s a very, very tiny show of decency!
Obi wan is immoral. Anakin saved his life at least a dozen times. The least he could do is not let his friend burn alive, even if he committed an atrocity.
Vader spared Aiolin from burning to death in lava... Morit, however, would not be shown such mercy, as Vader finished him off by Force Pushing him towards a planet/moon during a duel in space, causing him to BURN TO DEATH by atmospheric entry.
it is a mercy killing.
good-he deserved much worse
granted why would vader give him mercy

Last time I was this early, Darth Vader still had lungs.
Last time I was this early Darth Vader was a Jedi master......
And legs.
@@twinendymion947 so never?👀
@@keepinitkawaii nah, I was early before..... Wait was I? I don't really remember I've been early a lot of times on a lot of channels
@@twinendymion947 hehehe no, i was just teasing Anakin about being denied rank of master
He didn't lie to her.
He said that her pain would soon pass; and he made sure that it did.
He killed her quickly, and spared her the knowledge that she was going to die; right until the very end.
His master would have simply watched her slowly dying horribly; and laughed at her pain and fear.
Still, I admit that I was surprised by his act of compassion.
He even seemed to let her hug him for comfort.
It makes one wonder if being a father to his children from the beginning, would have saved him falling into
the Dark Side.
I'd say that it likely would have. or at least made him seriously consider turning back from the Dark if he'd already gone.
If luke and leia were born before order 66 anakin would have never turned losing padmé would have sucked but to be able to save his unborn children would have been enough to keep him from turning when Vader found out he had a son anakin was already starting to begin to fight back even harder
Considering almost losing his son made him turn back to the light, I would say yes.
Yeah... I think that was the entire point of the video lmfao.
he probably had shine blue eye's in that moment
At least Vader understood what it's like to be burned alive, in someway he knew his past self as Anakin Skywalker hasn't died.
That is why I helped
They're the same person. It's not split personality or a dissociative disorder.
Ouroboros _xlo vader resents his past i imagine he thinks them as 2 different people
@@ouroboros5793 Severe trauma can do a lot to a persons mind. Being cooked alive and left for dead by your best friend only to be locked in a torture suit for the rest of your life might tweak their head a little bit.
He is Anakin, he just tries to distance himself from his former life and pretend otherwise but he cannot forget his past, his mother, his wife and the choices he made that led him to where he was now. How else he would hate himself the most out of everyone and everything in galaxy?
I always love hearing about Vader showing compassion and mercy from time to time. It just goes to show that he never fully turned.
more like he pull her up to make her more suffer from the pain
@@midnightbat344 oh hod one of those toxic nerds
I would confidently say that in anakin's time he shows his dark side from time to time, and as vader he shows his light side from time to time
Yes he did Vader simply (in my opinion) never liked extreme suffering. He will kill and torture if he has to but I don't think he ever enjoyed this kind of pain unless they deserved it such as the sand people.
But when Luke begged him for help while being tortured he also snapped then too.

those who know pain , will do everything in their power to spare others from it
I mean, he certainly did cause a lot of pain as Darth Vader. Even the most dark and evil people have done good things in their lives.
Tell that to Maul.
@@BadWolfSilence Her body was charcoal. He was sparing her from a pain probably worse than what he went through on mustafar
@@AwesomeDr111 had that been Maul knowing him he would have walked away allowing her to die right then and there.
Not really...
I would've loved an alternate scenario where he saved her and eased her pain into a comatose sleep, just to take her to be converted into a half machine abomination, much like himself...
*The rise of a new grand inquisitor...*
That's actually really cool
I dont think anyone could or would want to stay alive after this. The burning was worse than vaders, and that says something
That would be much appreciated 😃😃
@Yuri.S
Eh, the original extended universe books kind of had their own and she had this badass whip saber.
Except the last thing Vader wants is to others go throught the same as he did.
Imagine if he tried pushing her in and he failed and he fell instead.
Karma.
What Kind? Instant of course!
His gesture of mercy wasn't hollow; she called him 'Lord Vader' at the end of her life.
She was respectful while facing the end.
Her training is now complete.
I feel like this kind of mirrors what happens in ROTJ when he saves Luke from getting electrocuted to death.
Aside from the obvious reasons he saved Luke, it's almost like he can't stand to see anyone go through what he endured, to become what he became. Because out of everything in the galaxy, the thing vader hates more than anything... is himself.
He’s still in there as dim as the light is
@@WoCKYy. anakin please. Remember your jedi past. You know the good, the light is pulling at you. Palpatine tricked you. You're so much better and smarter than him. You're a good guy anakin. Please Skywalker.
Vader has one more thing other than the force...PTSD
Recently watched Empire Strikes Back... It's clear as soon as it's mentioned that Luke is his son and is a Skywalker he starts showing his light side and mercy again. Vader at first tell Lando that Leai and Chewie can stay at cloud city and not taken prisoner which seems out of character like he is showing mercy for his son's friends or senses Leai is his daughter. Then when Chewie fights stormtroopers to save Han Vader restrains Fett from shooting them. He clearly held back against Luke as well until he was struck and angered. Then he showed his tender side by pleading with Luke. He no longer wanted to deliver him to Palpatine...he wanted him to come with Him instead. Earlier in the film Vader killed 2 admirals for failures. But when Luke escapes Vader doesnt bother killing anyone. He is caught up in his feelings for Luke and just walk away. Vader starts to turn back to the light side pretty quickly it seems like.
Oh also... He lets Chewie have C3PO's parts so he can reassemble him. Strange to give a rebel prisoner access to a droid and tools... Made me think Anakin recognized the droid and wanted him fixed. It may have also made him wonder about Leai as well. Thinking Leai might be more important to him might have also been why he suddenly decided to change his deal and tell lando he was taking her and chewie with him. Instead of the obvious thought that they were rebels who should be interrogated or executed. Maybe he sensed there was more to it.
Vader’s time with the 501st taught him to watch those wrist rockets.
Vader's an Evil Classhole, but he's an Evil Classhole with standards.
Usually when he kills, he doesn't make a performance of it. He is ruthless but efficient. A villain who doesn't take joy in other's pain is actually what makes him a compelling villain. He uses pain as a tool or to achieve an end, but never inflicts it just because.
Damn, dude.
That's a very compelling point you've made, especially considering his abuse from DomDaddy Sidi
That has to be thee most despicable act of betrayal
His own sister??now that's a psychopath
Yeah. At least try to mercy kill her.
The three most despicable forms of murder: Patricide, Fratricide, and Filicide
Why did he betray her again?
Why did he push her like that wtf?
I’m pretty sure if someone fell into lava they’d die in a few seconds.
Starwars logic
one word: force
You are applying real world logic to a Force User in star wars? smart idea /s
Yep
maybe even faster 🤔
Somehow, I like this. They make Vader some sort of a complex character: conflicting with his inner light and dark sides
Is this where I ask how the memory circuit was completely unscathed from the "high ground treatment"?
her flesh was the heatsink.
average temperature of lava is below the melting point of iron, and about 1000 degrees below the melting point of titanium.
so it's fair to say most sci-fi super materials would be just fine.
yeah I was thinking that too lol
When Darth Vader was Left in a Bathroom of his Star Destroyer While Attack on the Rebellion(Canon)
They were both burning in the lava, Vader & Aiolin, both so close to death but yet not close enough. Just barely alive. They were both pulled from the brink of death.
However, unlike Palpatine, Vader was merciful.
Unlike Palpatine, Vader did not force her to continue living.
He didn't save a life, but he had sufficient mercy on Aiolin to give her a quick death instead of horribly succumbing to her injuries. Plainly it was Vader's memories of being burnt at Mustafar that strirred some semblance of compassion in him, but then he could also get information from her. If she had refused to give him anything, I don't think it is entirely beyond Vader to just abandon her, or even put her back into the lava. He is not all dark, but he is not a nice guy, either.
I feel the conflict within you.
There is... no conflict.

Vader thought he was saveing a IKEA soilder
Darth Vader was actually saving the woman from a life of being a full on cyborg of the sith and becoming an inqusitor
I saw something else in a similar vein, that of him saving Galen Marek in Force Unleashed. Granted it may have just been to have an apprentice, but he protected him from stormtrooper blaster fire and even killed them by deflecting it.
Anakin: Can I save my mother?
Jedi Order: No
Anakin: Can I save my wife?
Darth Sidious: Yes but you have to kill all the Jedi
Anakin: Ok
Sidious: JK
Darth Vader: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Vader had the high ground

very good point. anakin/vader was a by product of circunstances. child slavery, early heavy resposabilities, no psichological support, no social skill development. he made choices, thus he is responsible for them, but not alone. he's my favourite character in general. thank you so much.
I like to think Vader had these moments a lot
All of our memories are fresh, just the right stimulus for them to resurface from the depths of our mind. You can believe that a duel near hot lava is more than necessary for Vader to remember the duel with Kenobi. No trauma goes away, we can just get over it.
Poor woman, even Darth Vader shows her pity after that fate. To be fair, it was mainly because it reminded him of his own pain, but still counts as pity and mercy.
3:54-4:00 "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions"
Usually that kind of heat would burn your nerves once your skin touched it. So really she didnt feel a thing after she fell in for a few seconds. Also with it being that hot it would ignite you if you were even close to it.
Dude, these stories are so cool.
I always thought that if a person fell into lava, he would die so quickly that he or she wouldn’t feel any pain at all, I guess I was wrong! 😔
Yeah no its so hot and dense that you basically float on the surface and don't actually fall into it so you'd just be on the top of the lava burning to death... Wouldn't be a quick death.
Sometimes we need to remember that even the "humans" in Star Wars aren't really earthly humans, but actually another alien species that by the wonders of convergent evolution happens to look just like us. Perhaps they have different tolerances to being burnt and can survive injuries that would kill us.
Cenindo I like the alien exodus story that basically says that humans did come from Earth in the future but where sent through a “cosmic whirlpool” (wormhole) that sent them back in time to a galaxy far far away and they settled on Correlia. It’s not canon and I think was scrapped as it may have been controversial, but I personally really like that idea
Well the truth is, you will. The lava doesn't cook you to death, the super hot air near the lava will burn your lungs with just a few breaths
Me looking for old comments with lots of likes
Then realizing it’s only 7 hours old
Even a dim light shines bright in the darkness, for all of Vaders faults he just could not completely crush Anakin. That was Vaders issue no matter how hard or how often he tried to show he was past Anakin, there was always a small sliver of the slave boy within him.
"The pain will soon pass."
oh no
Am I the only one noticing reuploads? This is the 5th time I've watched this video but all with different thumbnails.
U are not the only one...
Sometimes they get copyrighted for music etc. And they get re-uploaded with thise edits to avoid the Hassel. You see it sometimes
Thank you Vader for showing mercy
Hail Lord Vader
I feel like more people should be pointing out that the only reason that Vader rescued her from the lava was to get the memory chip, as evidenced by the fact that he immediately killed her afterwards instead of even pretending to get medical droids.
That lady was as good as dead. The burns she suffered are enough to give her a slow painful death and no medical attention can save . So I believe a quick death from a lightsaber is welcome considering that they attacked and betrayed him at first too. Her own partner betrayed her to a slow and painful death.
Awesome great content and editing keep it up bro
This is actually pretty touching. It also adds even more depth to Vader.
During his time as a Jedi, you saw that he'd act on his darker impulses every now and then. Not surprising to me that in his time as Darth Vader, you'd occasionally see small mercies.
3rd degree burns and beyond kill all nerve endings. Great video

When I read it I looked to think of it at even though he did have pity, he knew he could get something out of saving her like sidious did to him, his dark still overwhelming his good not just saving her to save her, but that bit of light was still present
This actually makes me emotional..
5:27 Anakin was not just a former slave, he was a slave his whole life. First as a kid, then to the jedi, and then to Palpatine.
Tbh if they had brought this into live action I would have been fine with her taking Vader's place and being his secret apprentice so she could get her revenge on her brother for betraying her and after the fall of Vader and sidious she is still using the empire's power to pursue her brother but at the same time she slowly starts to see the harm she is doing by betraying what she always believed in and starts to change back to the light unlike her brother who starts to more and more let the darkside consume him for not being able to have the glory of killing Vader
Dang that's truly heartbreaking 💔
I love these vader vids
The Dark Side Isn’t evil, some may say yes but it’s only because of how the sith use it. The Sith are the evil because they use that nature to they’re own benefits like power of control no matter the cost.
Yeah the Sith in their beliefs sound more like normal people to me. But then they always go around killing and betraying. I always felt that the proper conclusion to the star wars story was for the jedi and sith to become one again. Become the jedai again. In dawn of the jedi they learned to balance both dark and light. I feel like that's more like what qui gon talked about, being in the living force and balancing both sides. But jedi seem to think balance means to be entirely of the light side, it makes no sense. The real canon of the expanded universe had a chance to do this when the lost tribe of the sith was discovered. By that point the sith and jedi had become very similar. Both were large orders. Both married and had children. I was really hoping allying against abeloth and vestsra and ben Skywalker getting together would lead to the two orders uniting finally and putting their blood feud to rest. Alas it didnt happen. Maybe if they continued the story and allana became the jedi queen it could still happen.

I've always wondered. Would it have changed anything about anakin's path if qui- gon had trained him instead of obi-wan or was palpatine smart enough to deal with that.?what do you guys think?
Yes, it would have drastically changed anakins life and he likely never would have turned to the dark side
Honestly really hard to say... Qui-Gon would have surely been an overwhelmingly positive influence for Anakin growing up as a Jedi. But on the other hand palpatine accounted for literally everything during revenge of the sith so it’s probably safe to say he would have had a solution for Qui-Gon if he had survived the encounter with Maul in Phantom.
Yes, Anakin's future would have been drastically different if Qui-Gon taught him, and he wouldn't have turned to the dark side. That's why the fight between Qui-Gon and Maul was the "Duel of the Fates", the outcome of the battle determined what Anakin's fate would end being

the council would lock up force sensitive seers because their visions would lead to the incarceration of people not innocent of a crime yet, then gave themselves the moral high-ground without considering they'd locked up a person innocent of crime simply because he/she was a believer... control was everything to the jedi council, and seeing as anakin possessed power that couldn't be controlled by another he was rightfully cautious about trusting the jedi.
He may be the dark lord but he isn't pure evil
Awesome comic
"The road to hell is paved by good intentions"
I think this makes sense to me. I think Vader is ruthless and pretty merciless. I don't think he cares about a planet of people being vaporized as enemies of the Empire. I don't think he cares about threatening and killing people, including innocents and civilians if it serves his purpose. But... I just don't think it's in his personality to actually explicitly get off on the suffering of others and laugh maniacally while torturing for no purpose other than entertainment and fun - I actually think it runs contrary to his very stoic, all-business, quite 'conservative' approach to the Empire and the Dark Side. He might saber down a person or snap their neck, and he might torture people for information, or torture his old Jedi enemies, but I'm not sure he'd go out of his way to, say, very slowly burn, boil, skin or lightening someone alive, specifically for fun and perverse satisfaction like I could see Palpatine do.
This is good.
Yep anakin was definitely the chosen one
To end the galantic republic and the empires whole career.
Getting empathy from vader is like trying to squeeze water from a rock
I wonder how things would be different, if at all, if the jedi never told ani how special he was. If they took him in and trained him as just a late youngling. Would he have desired all that power he knew he could have? If the ideas behind anikan was strictly kept with the jedi council and somehow his presence hidden from palpatine like he hid his dark side presence. Do you think it’d play out differently for him?
He would have noticed a rapid increase in power, Palpatine would still have tried to sway him after the simulated duel, he still would have encountered the Father, Son and Daughter and revealed his true potential.
Aiolin: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
