  • Gender dysphoria continues to be the story for many young people in today’s society. The community of young people going through permanent, life-altering surgeries as they search for their true self is growing rapidly. It is important to stay rooted in God’s Word as we navigate loving people well and showing compassion. Join host Andrew Marcus as he spends time with Kyla Gillespie, unpacking her powerful story of faith, identity and transformation. Kyla shares her deeply personal journey of grappling with gender dysphoria from a young age, her eventual transition to living as a male, and her profound experience of faith that led her to de-transition and embrace her identity as a woman committed to following Jesus.

In a book I read, it talks about satisfaction and pleasure. Pleasure is temporary high. Satisfaction is going against the grain and working hard to change and work toward something.

How is that different from so many trans people's experiences? They work hard with therapy, physically working to save money for therapy & Doctors..
And then they make the changes that they need to make. Despite all of America demanding that they don't change. And telling them that they are fake pretending and insane. But yet they still persistent..
And finally they get the satisfaction of being themselves.

Wow! Just wow. This episode is such a powerful witness of Gods perfect capability to balance justice and mercy, that He knows each of us individually, that He knows our name!. It also reminds us all that Jesus Christ meets us where we're at. Hes already paved the way and is eager to show us how to walk it with Him. I also deey admire Kyla for her willingness to engage in the wrestle with God. Whoa! So often we hesitate because its highly uncomfortable and vulnerable. Kyla reminds its ALWAYS worth it. A relationship with God is worth EVERY sacrifice, especially that of our pride. I cried so much while listening to this! I needed the reminder to repent and let God be in charge more in my life. Much thanks for putting this out there. May God bless you all!

I have to ask gently, how can we love the word pf God so wholly and completely and love Jesus the same but not believe him when he said OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY
BEHOLD ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW
meaning ive heard a few times it was said tht he doesnt guarantee our old torments (gender dysphoria) our old sicknesses even leporesy was not only healed BUT CLEANESED AND PEOPLE WERE MADE WHOLE IN THE BIBLE as if theyd never had leprosy at all!
I guess maybe she hasnt come to tht point in her journey yet to grab onto those promises. And thts ok as long as we know these places are destinations tht are absolutely part of the children of Gods inheritance tht coincide with peace and joy and love grace and contentment in Jesus..

I wonder if it would change things for people if we didn't push these gender stereotypes. I legitimately don't know anything about it. But I'm curious, Could these socially constructed stereotypes be the cause of gender dysphoria?
If we normalized girls wearing more masculine clothes, playing with traditionally boys toys and sports, and vice versa, would it make a difference for kids that struggle?

Kyla is still very much in touch with sports! That part of her journey never seemed to be called into question, so it's an interesting thought! The people around your kid's will still hold an impact in speaking in their life, the best thing we can do as parents is keep an open line of communication on what their day looked like. :)
