    Some tough questions could be:
    - USB 2.0 was released in 2000, USB 3.0 was released in 2008. The Lightning connector was released in 2012. Why does the large majority of Lightning devices (except iPad Pro), only supports only USB 2.0 but not USB 3.0 speeds?
    - If Lightning is a superior connector, why were Lightning ports not extended to the Mac, to allow Lightning-based accessories to be used on Mac computers? Why did iPads switch from Lightning to USB-C?
    - The decision was made to open up Facetime access partially, by allowing non-Apple platform users to join calls. Why is this decision not extended to iMessage? Does Apple see Zoom/Skype/Teams/Hangouts as a bigger competitor than WhatsApp/Telegram/Viber/Signal?
    - If Apple values security for all users, why does it choose to stick to SMS, rather than support both SMS/RCS? SMS is 30-year-old spec that has been proven to be insecure, unencrypted, and prone to Sender ID spoofing by scammers.

So disappointing that Apple appear to be “scared” to acknowledge their shortcomings, I think that prevents them from getting better. The lack of competition is actually disadvantageous, because you can tangibly feel the lack of effort they’re putting in to the practicality of their products. Other phones might be boring, but they’re becoming more practical. Switching over would suck, but with this drag in improvement? Who’s to say.

Folks that don't like what Apple is doing, should buy another product or build the product themselves. They will see how hard it is to make products and services for over a billion people while trying to stay within the material, privacy, support and functionality realms. It's impossible to please everyone while staying true to your foundation.

These gentlemen are dodging the questions and just trying to make products look secrect in an unfunny manner ! Steve jobs would have shared deep insight into Apple next future openly with his wisdom and given a roadmap for other Manufacturers of Phone industry.

I prefer lighting over type c . Obviously that is an unpopular opinion but I’m not concerned with the 5 min it takes to transfer a 10 gig file with usb 2.0 @480mbps or with the fact that it doesn’t charge as fast as some type c connectors, but what I am concerned with is the durability of the type c ports used in devices bend that center pin connection and your devices is toast.. that happened to me once and I was lucky the phone had wireless charging.

I think if Apple wasn't as big as they are, and didn't have the world's eye on everything they do and say, they could probably make public announcements about their future plans. Most people probably wouldn't care. But they are the most profitable company out there. They have more assets than many smaller countries combined, so they have to maintain some discretion and decorum about what they want to do for the future. Even the slightest hint about future plans coming from Apple, especially if they're speculative, can turn very quickly into a media monster with tech, financial and corporate influencers making crazy predictions and outcomes about things that may not even pan out. There's an entire industry out there dedicated to predicting what Apple may or may not do. That's more than enough.
And the question about Apple creating new privacy features (or anything else) just so they can sell more iPhones is kind of a cheap shot in my opinion. Every company who manufactures products and services wants to sell them - the more the better. Apple is no different. The biggest difference here is that other manufacturers, in general, want to create products and put it out to the public as fast as possible. While there's nothing wrong with that, that isn't how Apple works. They will put something out when they feel it's ready and will give the consumer the best experience possible. Is that model perfect? Of course not, but don't think that Apple is only doing things to sell more products. This production model works for them and the results are obvious. $$$$

Oh what about the 20 pin connector? From that precedent Apple would probably just have replaced it with their own proprietary connector yet again (had it seemed to suit their agenda) and they had a say in the development of USB -C so it's not like a bit of their DNA isn't on that already. This connector directive is purely for charging and now that Qi charging is a thing it might incentivise Apple to improve that significantly to be able to offer exclusive features, like MagSafe.

His answer that Lightning charges well is not accurate. Lightning is slow. Even Data transfer speeds are at USB 2.0. The USB C port in the iPad pros transfers data at a much higher rate. Android phones are charging at 50 watts and up while apple is stuck at 20 watts.
