It's just that people don't know how to use the "other ones" right. Most people in the US are already used to Apple stuff so switching is a lot harder because they'd have to learn how to use other platforms.
@Killer Miser This is where you've turned them around. There are many things Android does which iOS can't do even though they keep copying features from Android. If you don't believe me let's list them. List the things you believe iOS can do which Android can't and I'll give you a list of the reverse + plus alternatives which you didn't know existed
AirPlay does not let you screen mirror onto another device. Airplay allows you to connect to a smart TVs or an Apple TV which enables the TV to become a smart TV.
The iMessage is just an American thing. Outside US people used WhatsApp, Messenger and Telegram etc. So even Apple allowed iMessage on Android it's mostly benefits US people not others.
so every streaming service is a walled garden too right? since i have to sub to different ones to watch different things instead of only subbing to one thing to get them all.
I was one of those people who had Verizon way before they offered iPhones, so I walked around with a Nokia or LG phone and an iPod. After putting thousands of songs in iTunes before streaming and cloud services, there was just no way I was starting over and switching to another type of phone. AT this point, it's Apple for life because I refuse to go through the process of trying to transfer music again and seeing how funky it showed up on a non-Apple device. I'm stuck, but I like it here.
It will never be "too high". It'll just a "slightly pricey", high enough to earn Apple sweet revenue, but low enough not to make people seek alternatives.

@@info-load7952 it’s funny how Apple haters constantly concern themselves with what iOS users are doing, when we really don’t care what happens the other way around. In reality a lot are jealous that no other brand has come close in bringing a seamless experience that parallels with Apple. Yea if your budget limits your choices, and you care more about chasing this years new specification rather than the overall user experience and privacy, then Apple isn’t for you. For the rest of us, we value our time more so anything that we feel makes things more seamless is a tick in our books. Again if you’re into using outdated wired earphones and can’t afford a tablet and a laptop which each provide their separate benefits rather than compromising on both sides, then yea look elsewhere, you’ve made it clear it’s not for you.
It's nice how they made up a better term called "Walled garden" just for Apple instead of "Vendor lock in" which describes how it happens everywhere, including Microsoft At least Mac runs Darwin Linux, so it's kind of open source. It also uses RiskV architecture so part of the hardware is open source. And new OS and Hardware for every Apple product means they don't just lock out other companies, they keep a high cost for their own device compatibility users pay for. Open source hardware is also available, but it can't compete with the latest designs in hardware and software and UX that Apple spends a lot to make.

Apple likes to present themselves as the big tech company that cares about privacy but the reality is most of their users give just as much data to Google as an Android user. Google pays Apple billions each year to stay the default search engine on Safari; the whole point of Android is so Google has an OS that makes it the default without being reliant on Apple to do it.

doesn't this really comes down to the fact that there are only two options and once people make a choice and settle in there's got to be a very compelling reason to pack up, move out and learn a whole system?

That's great. You don't have to stick to only Apple. It's only makes them a monopoly
i tried android, found it clunky and ugly. i tried windows, hated every moment of it. staying with apple since everything just works.
@navi imandiv it was a google pixel but nice try
A better walled garden than other ones though…
It's just that people don't know how to use the "other ones" right. Most people in the US are already used to Apple stuff so switching is a lot harder because they'd have to learn how to use other platforms.
@Killer Miser This is where you've turned them around. There are many things Android does which iOS can't do even though they keep copying features from Android. If you don't believe me let's list them. List the things you believe iOS can do which Android can't and I'll give you a list of the reverse + plus alternatives which you didn't know existed

Not concerned at all about living within Apple's so called walled garden.
Don't you want competition? 😂
@@Copernicus22 There is competition, and they’re creating their own walled gardens. We have the choice over what tech ecosystems we partake in.
@@michaelmfmills is called vendor lockin. And no, not everyone is doing it. Most Google services are available on IOS to right?
so every streaming service is a walled garden too right? since i have to sub to different ones to watch different things instead of only subbing to one thing to get them all.
I cant complain privacy, convenience, aesthetics everything about apple is just an inspiration to me and is just feels right. so yeah its worth it
"Privacy"
@@JuanWayTrips there is privacy. Apple doesn't need their user's data unlike facebook or companies alike.
When the price of Apple services increases too high, don't start complaining. Enjoy your walled garden.
It will never be "too high". It'll just a "slightly pricey", high enough to earn Apple sweet revenue, but low enough not to make people seek alternatives.
You can stop using Apple any time you like. Most the people who buy Apple do so because of the advantages of a walled garden.
@@robier Apple's aim is to milk the iSheep by not providing touchscreen on Mac, full desktop OS on iPad, small screen and no earphone jack (also no high quality audio) on iPhone, So that people have to buy all different devices. Then to make it keep he iSheep happy, they say we provide continuity across these different devices.
@@info-load7952 disadvantage for advantage
It's nice how they made up a better term called "Walled garden" just for Apple instead of "Vendor lock in" which describes how it happens everywhere, including Microsoft
At least Mac runs Darwin Linux, so it's kind of open source.

@@Dad_Life13 you think iPhones don't do the same? Unless you don't use Google or any Google service then Google doesn't have your data but by seeing this comment you are using UA-cam, a Google service which means Google has your data. Do you use any other Google services? Google Maps, Waze, Fitbit, Gmail and Google Drive? Apple likes to present themselves as the big tech company that cares about privacy but the reality is most of their users give just as much data to Google as an Android user. Google pays Apple billions each year to stay the default search engine on Safari; the whole point of Android is so Google has an OS that makes it the default without being reliant on Apple to do it.

Users don't understand how terrible the walled garden is
And when they do... Apple makes them accept it, or they push harder to break free. The problem is not even one or 100 people breaking free, is the fact that other that are still in the wall, will trying to *invite you* back in. It's a constant battle. My first move to Android everybody bagged for me to come back to the iPhone, but I couldn't stand the imessage and the notch... Also it didn't run any good games actually console or of games (emulators). Point being, When they realize they're stuck is usually too late
Our mobile phones and PCs are just one aspect of our lives. There is so much more to our reality: friends, family, dreams, ambitions etc. I switched to iPhone after I got a mac from work, and now I wanna stay only in apple products. But I still have my Samsung tablet, and... you know what? I still have my girlfriend who loves me, and my friends, and this whole "walled garden" is more of a hobby part in my life than my default/main/only recreational place in my personal life. Get some proportions! Apple makes great products. I have no idea what about them is better, but it's just is. And they care about privacy, which no other company (facebook, google) cares about. So I am happy to be in a walled garden in one hobby/recreational aspect of my life. It does not presupposes anything else in my life at all!
Thats why I use Samsung's ecosystem that can cumminicate with Windows and Google.

Those ‘walls’ are also called quality.
