In 50 years from now, it won’t be outdated, it will stay timeless. But with a street glide and most the others, the stereo will become outdated, and lots of other things. The road king doesn’t have anything to make it outdated in 50 years. It will stay timeless.
My second bike now after 2 years on my Sportster1200 . Just got a Green 2022 Road King Special with the 114 CI and im in absolute love with this motorcycle! I don't have any windshield and I don't plan to get one. Looks too good without one.
Thanks Shawn for your Faithfulness I’m 59 and just bought my first Harley The exact bike and color you show here; love it! Thanks for the tips and education. Keep it up
I own a 2010 Road King cop bike and there is no other motorcycle. I ride my FLHP virtually everywhere I go... even when I'm in a cage. I ride my Road King when I sleep. I ride my Road King while I eat. I ride my Road King when at church. I love my Road King, It can't be beat.
i have 3 2003 anniversary cvo’s!! the best bike ever! handles like a train on wheels and very agile making circles and turns. people won’t believe me how easy is to balance this machine! age is catching up with me and may sell them in a few years. :( keep enjoying your RK!!
@@mjgh2002 The 2003 anniversary bikes are beautiful. I agree, if you practice they are quite nimble, yet handle long stretches of interstate with ease. Awesome contraptions. Sorry you're thinking about selling your dream machines. Maybe attach a side car for extra stability and woman/pet storage?
Went from 06 Road King to 11 Ultra Limited, back to 11 Road King, which I still have. Enjoy seeing the road in front of me, plus the 100 lbs. reduction in weight, and of course, having THE Harley that looks most like a Harley!
I absolutely LOVE my Road King! It has an iconic look, is super comfortable, and has good power. I have an '18 Road King w/ 107 cu.in. engine and stage one upgrade (AN Big Sucker Air Cleaner, Neighbor Hater pipes, and Fuelpak flash). Only thing that I disliked about my road king was buffeting at 60+ mph. Fork fangs fixed that problem. Its a beautiful thing :D
Love my 09 Roadie, it stayed stock for a while, but then started chaging bits here and there.... but everything I did is easily put back to stock, with only the 21" front wheel taking a little more time. My favourite model, and I've had quite a few harleys inc softies, dynas, streetglides etc. Even looking at a 2nd one as back up.
Just got my first Harley and it's an 03 100th anniversary road king classic and its amazing been riding over 30 years and couldn't afford one now at the age of 63 I will ride it till I die
Personal "Throttle by Wire," experience; went out in my 98 GMC, on the highway going 75. All the sudden, I was idlin' into construction. Fun. Never had a steel cable break... ever. Oh, side note; the replacement was a $500.00 throttle pedal!
TBW was also on the 08 also the 96 ci engine, and larger rear tire. The TBW had 1 small problem in that if you were rough on the throttle it would cause the engine to idle faster, to reset the throttle turn the ignition on and off three ( 3 ) times allowing the fuel pump to run fully each time.
Just picked up my second Road King standard. Who's luckier than me".....nobody. Absolutely a great bike and areal classic looker and the ride is the best. In the wind every day! Keep up those words of wisdom
The Road King is the personification of a Harley Davidson icon. Those select riders who own one are indeed privileged. I own a 2003 Road King Classic, 100-Year Anniversary Edition, and it is among the most elegant, stylish and archetypical Harley-Davidson motorcycles ever produced and forever etched in HD's rich history of motorcycle designs. Road King stands supreme and has no equal.
I was a breath away from getting a 2017 Road King...but then I was lured away by the Indian Springfield, so that’s what I have now. Love the Road King, but I have no regrets.
Really dig the color, I'm more of a pearl white guy when it comes to bikes, shows more curves. I like watching your channel, helps ease the pain when i cant ride my bike. Hah, God bless you brother!
I have a 2010 flame blue pearl rkc and I get complements constantly about the color. I have never seen one is person. AWSOME bike. Timeless look great video
At 4:30.... Have heard the 96s make much more power than the 88s. Have heard the 103s make much more power than the 96s. Have heard the 107s make much more power than the 103s. We must be up to HUGE AMOUNTS of Power by now !!!
jeff h They have broken a 100 with the torque and if want a 100hp it is easily attainable but most of their customers ride the torque and they are just cruisers not sport bikes so it is for a different type of riding. If you want to race around on the street there are other bikes obviously, but most Harley riders just like to ride and enjoy the mostly legal speed journey.
Throttle by wire was installed so as to program a lag in throttle response. Instant response in the bigger motors was twisting the press together cranks.
Hu Uknow Nah, the lag was designed as a safety mechanism to help riders avoid whiskey throttle on bumps and such, however some ECU replacements allow you to “tune” that out. As far as not twisting cranks, that’s one of the reasons ( other reasons were for more babying of the rider) Harley started using compensator sprockets in the primary. Either way Harley’s motor’s don’t even come close to making enough torque to twist a crank if someone cracks a throttle open too fast. I have a 103 with the lag tuned out, and the compensator and Cush drive both deleted and replaced with solid sprockets. I beat the shit out of that motor and the crank is just fine.
Nice bike!! I've got an '08 Road King Classic in Crimson Red. Fitting the color since Jesus Christ is my Savior!! I will now start reading scripture also before I ride!! Thanks brother for the inspiration!! God bless y'all!!
I found the road king at a reasonable price, but with 64,000 kilometers there are no mechanical problems. Do you think it is a risk of buying a bike after this long km? Will he have an expensive maintenance? I accept, but is there a fear
I had a 68 Mustang painted much the same color Blue back in the day.... I'm looking for another Bike. Looking at a Fat Boy & Softail standard , Road King FB & ST have low miles and the RK is 05 model.. but looks very good condition... Leaning toward a FB. Your Thoughts?
I remember a movie in the 80s called Electra-Glide in Blue. To me this is the colour an Electra-Glide should be. To me a Road King should be black or maroon
I can’t make my mind up between the heritage softail and road king. The RK doesn’t feel any bigger to me...it just feels a little fatter. Leg room seems exactly the same. I can’t seem to find the advantage of the RK over the heritage?? Softail feels lower and you sit down in it more...RK feels taller and you sit on top of it. As far as actual room I can’t tell a difference ?
Search the forums. TBW definitely had teething pains too. Besides failing, the throttle response when it first came out was crap. Very jerky. They seem smooth now and I haven't seen any failure discussions in a while.
you have too beleave in a higher power too ride a bike and beleave the lord will look out for you on your journey i put my trust in god every time i ride a bike
5 out of 6 bikes in Detroit in our chapter that hand of fly-by-wire crapped out and they wouldn't go over 20 miles an hour. They were junk when they first came out.
Also have the same bike n color too. Many heads turn cause it is MOT black. I love the blue a lot . Never saw the same blue in my area since I own it. 😎 so long. All of you a safe ride.
Throttle by wire does have problems. More expensive parts for no good reason that wear out. I've replaced sensors in the auto version and they are not cheap. I'd rather have a cable that usually last's the life of the vehicle and proven reliable...and that's exactly why it was eliminated.
Love the Road King and love the bible verse! :) 1st Corinthians 15:57 used to be my theme verse for my Victory. 1 Corinthians 15:57 (KJV) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I love your videos. Love ? Well, I really like them. Anyway ones small annoyance. DIRTY windshields !!! However I am a Christian also, so I will forgive you brother. Awfully nice of me don't you think ? Stay safe and keep reading the Bible. We love you for it. Yes, love ! PS, that road king is really quick and the color is fabulous.
Harley came out with fly by wire in 08. They had some sorting to do but it works good I’ve had several instead never a problem. Just on 08. They go into limp mode. Just saying
Bought a used Ford Ranger, once, in PA. Private sale. Had to appear together with a Notary Public. She witnessed the money change hands, and the title change hands.
I think you talked about everything; except 'Why So Many People Absolutely Love The Road King'. Maybe do a video that actually explains what people like about the Road King??????

Exactly! I got compliments today from fairing owners who thought my 2007 Road King Custom was new, lol! Rk is all you need, nothing you don't.
When I'm not riding my Road King... I watch videos of Shawn riding a Road King. Love this bike!!!
Same
Timeless look. Dont have to worry about having the latest and greatest nav or radio as you would with a street glide.
Thanks Shawn for your Faithfulness
I’m 59 and just bought my first Harley
The exact bike and color you show here; love it!
Thanks for the tips and education. Keep it up
The people love the road king because are beautiful bikes. I want it!!!!
In my opinion, best looking new harley...

Love the Bible verse and the bike.
I just bought a 2014 Road King a week ago from Harley Davidson Hughesville, Maryland.
I'm lovin' it.
I bought a 2016 Road King glacier white and frosted teal blue. I love this bike and it gets a lot of compliments on the color. Great video

Just picked up a 2000 Road King. Absolutely love it! Nice companion to my '94 BMW R1100RS. Love the Truth reading (scripture) too!
I have a 2008 105th Anniversary Road King Classic and it is a dream to ride. The 96 is smooth, efficient and arguably their best engine.
Rode it from Chicago to Los Angeles and felt like I was sitting on my couch. Great Bike indeed!!!
Loving your videos especially opening with the word brother! Keep em’ coming! New sub here from the philippines! 👍🏼
Man, been wanting to see a ride video for this King since it showed up on the site. The blue is siiiiiiiccckkkk
Looks like flame blue pearl. This also the first year of the new frame. Great improvement.
I have a 2016 Roadking one of the last 103ci and I just love it!

Yes. Road King very handy bike, in town, on road, anywere. I ride Eclectra Glide now, but maybe will get RK later.
I love how you read a verse before riding.
I always do it
Cant wait for the numbers verse with Moses
I activate my 4 way flashers when stopping with traffic behind me to get attention along with my flashing brake light.
Awesome bike. I have a 2009 1200 Sportster Low on that color. Flame Blue Pearl. I get a lot of positive comments on the color.
I was a breath away from getting a 2017 Road King...but then I was lured away by the Indian Springfield, so that’s what I have now. Love the Road King, but I have no regrets.

The road king is amazing! My father in law has one and it's like riding on a couch lol.
I just got an 08 RKC, exact bike as this, absolutely love it. The color is stunning.

Not a Harley guy, but the Road King just looks "right" to me. If I were to ever consider a Harley it would be a Road King
Nice bike!! I've got an '08 Road King Classic in Crimson Red. Fitting the color since Jesus Christ is my Savior!! I will now start reading scripture also before I ride!! Thanks brother for the inspiration!! God bless y'all!!
I ride. 2013 Road King went from a wide glide. Lot going from a Ford to a

Else
Love your reviews and nod to the Lord! Been watching all of these, might settle on a 2009 great price and would be my first RK!
My first Road King, it is a 2015 and I can't say enough good things about it.
I found the road king at a reasonable price, but with 64,000 kilometers there are no mechanical problems. Do you think it is a risk of buying a bike after this long km? Will he have an expensive maintenance? I accept, but is there a fear
It's cool that you read the verse at the start of the video. And hilarious video, Jess King, Lol.
Did you sell it?? I’m retired living in Mexico and looking for a good deal on a Road King. If you’re selling it how much??
Hey Beautiful Soul, I love my Road King. Very smooth, still training.

That's a nice ride there! I'd buy it.
How much are you selling that for ?
That is one nice looking bike in one really awesome color.
Personally, I love the color. Maybe a bit bright, but I'd still take it.
Harley came out with fly by wire in 08. They had some sorting to do but it works good I’ve had several instead never a problem. Just on 08. They go into limp mode. Just saying
Michael Costeline they don’t go into limp mode for no reason.
Its a work of art
Very nice bike.
My state requires both seller and buyer appear at DMV together for title transfer. Don't know how you handle that.
Bought a used Ford Ranger, once, in PA. Private sale. Had to appear together with a Notary Public. She witnessed the money change hands, and the title change hands.
That's a horrible law.
Look at that awesome lean at 8:12
Beautiful!
You still have this Road king?
do you ship to canada alberta?
I like the blue. Favorite color
Are you still selling bikes?
all if my experience on Harley's has been great
Thanks for sharing the gospel man. Be safe
Paint color is cool but I like white. 👍🏼😎
I think you talked about everything; except 'Why So Many People Absolutely Love The Road King'. Maybe do a video that actually explains what people like about the Road King??????
The color is Flame Blue Pearl
