- Trackmaster as a brand has always been one of my favorites; and while previously I focused on the worst sets I thought had ever been released; today I wanted to switch it up for the positive! :)

The HiT Toy Company playsets are difficult to beat, I wasn't a fan of the all blue Thomas Daring Drop. Said to be the tallest playset but it actually wasn't at that time.
Sounds like a major bias
LEO LETS GOOO
I am a big fan
bro defined my childhood
LET'S GO OOOOO OOOOO
You have to admit tho, getting that absolute GIANT Cranky was amazing, maybe not the most "exciting or complex" set, but having a giant cranky was awesome.
BEST CRANKY MERCH EVER NO COMPETITION
i had it and i was scared of cranky so embarrassed now but the set was so good and the movie was good
GIANT CRANKY IS LEGENDARY
Actually I had a giant cranky and my cousin got hurt with it but other then that the giant cranky was awesome
I have one! It’s so cool
Im glad young me bought the misty island set and the blue mountain quarry set, i still do have all the track and other pieces but they're all scattered around my room
I had both sets (my Misty Island one wasn't the deluxe one tho, it was the shake shake bridge one), although I lost almost every track besides the special parts.
@@dogemaster-hm2ce same here except for the second set but I had shake shake bridge separately
@@dogemaster-hm2ce I have the Shake-Shake Bridge set as well as that Zipline one.
One of my friends had the misty island set while I had the blue mountain quarry set
I actually had #3 as my very first Trackmaster Thomas set. It was very innovative for me and I wish I still kept it to this day.
I find it nostalgic that the top 3 are sets I had as a kid and man I loved these sets when I was little
Nani?!

@@brayansanchez9588 sick!
2:41 I had that as a kid but sadly I got rid of all my track master stuff
Seeing this video made me so happy. When I saw the Misty Island and Great Discovery sets I had a rush of nostalgia from when I was little and asking my parents for the sets. Felt good remembering those days.
Action Canyon is an absolute banger of a Trackmaster set!
More like a Chad Banger
Brings back so many memories. I remember watching the commercial on my Great Discovery DVD when I was 4 and getting absolutely lost in the moment.
Action Canyon is definitely an S tier but the Knapford Station Celebration Set, Sodor Friends Road and Rail Set and Super Sodor Adventure Set definitely deserve honorable mentions.
I knew action Canyon was going to be number one I actually had that set when I was a lot younger it’s a shame I don’t have it anymore I still remember all the good times I had fun with it
I always wanted the afton canyon as a kid, i remember asking my mom for it all the time when I was 7 or 8, I’ve since gotten out of track-master in favor of other stuff but I might get it one day just to full fill a childhood dream
I think I actually had all of these except for Action Canyon. The memories of sitting down with my Trackmasters for hours on end as a kid will probably stay with me forever…
I owned all of them except for Misty Island deluxe and the timber sheds one unfortunately I lost the action canyon bridge
I had the action canyon set, the RC Thomas at Tidmouth sheds set and the shake shake bridge set. The first two sets adored by how revolutionary they were as a whole.
I’m very happy to have the troublesome traps set just minus the James, but I’m confused why Percy wasn’t in the set as he was the “scardie engine”. Also why didnt Rheneas come in the thomas’ daring drop as he was the one who went on the breaking bridge in blue mountain, for your next video you should do a top five trackmaster packs also great video as always!
Would you make a layout build video. That would be EPIC.
One day but digging out the old Trackmaster stuff is something I haven’t done in years 😬
@@ItsTrainBoy brooooo you gotta, nostalgia
@@ItsTrainBoy wat is ur second favorite Thomas and friends toy series
@@Captain_Timezone Man… if we keep it JUST toys Plarail? Maybe Take N’ Play?
But model wise Bachmann or Hornby 🤣
Dude, your video quality have both improved so much. Keep it up.
Thank you so much brotha man, will do! :)
Mate, I've ALWAYS wanted Action Canyon since I was a kid, that commercial that I saw online, had always caught my attention! I still intend to get it some day in, because this set was awesome! As for the rest of the set in this list, I still want to get those sets, especially Tidmoth Shed, the Misty island set, and Thomas's daring drop, are still on my wish list, but Action Canyon has and still is one of my most wanted set, and I don't mine if I find the original, the snow theme or even both, this set was just so awesome
4:28 I got this set years ago. I don’t have it anymore, but watching this is making a lot of fun memories come back to me.
Great video mate! Also as a idea, What if you did a top 5 best and worst tomy/ playrail sets?
I’d really like to see a top 5 for Plarail, or perhaps top 5 TM engines
This got me so nostalgic, I still have the misty island set new in box to this day. Next we have to see take n play/take along
Awesome! Hopefully a Best and Worst Videos on the older Tomy Blue Track Thomas stuff in the woks next.
What about making a list of worst/best Trackmaster Thomas *destinations* or *accessories* next? Like, I’m sure you could find quite a decent amount of them which either were essential for a proper layout, or even some that just didn’t make any sense
Excellent video as always. I actually own every one of these sets... sorta. I only actually got the Shake Shake Bridge set on its own, but to me, that kinda counts. And I agree about the Troublesome Traps set, as back then even, I found it far more enjoyable and less gimmicky than later sets. Plus, my version of Thomas' Daring Drop came with a truck, boulders, a zip line, and stone cutting station, so there was an even better version of that set than what was shown here. Just goes to show how awesome Thomas merch was.
this was really interesting, i had very few track master sets only 2 iirc, one i forget the title of, the other was from thomas and bertie’s race back in season 1. i admit trackmaster is interesting however my preference has always been the wooden train sets.
The Thomas falling waterset was one of my favorite sets unfortunately I don't have it anymore but I do one day hope I can get another one and this was a really great video
I had the action canyon set when I was a kid don't have it anymore sadly, but the nostalgia from seeing it again. I collect HO / N scale model trains now and almost all the current thomas models from bachmann, but action canyon will always have a special place in my heart
We bought a HUGE bundle of track of off ebay (the track from back when it was blue) and it had a huge bridge, a really long double track section that went round all of it and a small little engine shed bit
I actually have a Action Canyon set. Funny story with this set when I was younger. I covered it with 1 or 2 big containers of Nesquick power to make “snow”. My mom was angry but I didn’t get in to much trouble because she was to busy laughing her butt off. To this day some years later you can tell which trains I played with that day because I’ve never been able to fully clean them.
Always remembered loving seeing the Action Canyon commercial when watching The Great Discovery. From one of THE best specials, I expected nothing less.
When I was 5 I got Action-Canyon as a Christmas Present, and boy was it absolutely pique trackmaster. Something about it was just God Tier,it really sucks that nothing has ever come even close to it's greatness
Man oh man, when I saw that you put Action canyon at Number 1, I was so happy, I remember getting it for Christmas as a kid and I was so happy. That was the very first Trackmaster set I had ever gotten as a kid and I still have it today, every engine I have works with it (except Tomy Oliver). Thanks so much for the nostalgia man. :)
How much did you pay for the tomy Oliver
@@jamestheshinyredengine4350 Uhh... I think around 110 US Dollars. He came in a lot with 2 red branchline coaches and a Tomy Duck.
Damn that expensive, but the price is kinda expected
@@jamestheshinyredengine4350 Yeah, I was expecting it to be like that, but it was worth it since I got Duck and some new coaches. :)
I just was clicking on random videos I found this video man I remember having a few trackmaster sets where a set that had a rail that was only one rail or something but it gave me memories of the set I do still have it but it is in a black box in my closet.
I'm not sure what is was called but there was this huge set i had that came with Thomas, Annie and Clarabel
Percy with some trucks
And one of the pack members. Also a level crossing with lots of road. If you can find it please mention it in your vid 👍
Thomas with Annie and Clarabel, Percy with some trucks, a level crossing, lots of road, and I don’t think any of the Pack members are in the set due to them not being made around that time. It does feature Elizabeth, who is not a member of the pack, neither are Trevor and Caroline. Terence is not a member of the pack, either.
@@stevennorthrup5790 what's the set called?
@@RufusBoi2008 Its the ultimate set, from tomy
@@cbe6909 huh weird didn't know that set didn't existed. I'm sure it was trackmaster. Imma guess they just did a ctrl-c ctrl-v on that one
I had all of the Top 4 Classic Trackmaster sets as a kid, and still do to this day. My two favorites were Action Canyon and the Tidmouth Sheds set. The former was just really fun with how many different ways you could send the engines and the fun spiral, and the latter was just really nice to have an integral location from the show. I similarly got excited when I finally got Knapford Station
There is a second version of the Thomas' Daring Drop set - the Risky Rails Bridge Drop set. It's basically the same thing except when Thomas goes to the top he can stop, drop a boulder into a chute which then goes to Merrick and from there it's sent in a crate on a string back down. I think that deserves to be the second best set. ua-cam.com/video/UNN-cG4V0pk/v-deo.html
ah, thats the variant i actually own lmao
Just heard your Voice in tank engine JonJons Gauge 1 thomas video! Nice to hear you working with other smaller creators and giving them a hand t get noticed!
When I was a lot younger, I had a variant of the MIR stuff that had the bridge, and I vividly remember using the regular Misty Island track to make ‘worn out’ sidings and track, especially if I tried remaking sets from Hero of the Rails
I don’t have the action canyon set anymore but I still remember getting it for Christmas in 2010 with the Thomas and the jet engine DVD, my 6 year old self was so happy!! I miss my childhood man!
I did have the RC Thomas set growing up, and it's also the reason why I got into the series for a couple of years.
I was honestly a Take Along kid but I still had like 3 of these sets and man they were so fun. I remember even if I didn’t have the entire action canyon set up I would use the mountain part as Gordon’s hill lmao
I’m planning to get the Action Canyon Set sometime in the future because it looks so cool! 😎
I'm also huge trackmaster fan, I remember having so much fun playing with the action canyon set, even when I rebuilt it years after it was put away in storage. I wish I could bring it out for a bit more but most of the pieces are at one of my family member's place who lives really far from me.
I sadly no longer have it- But I was one of the lucky ones who had an Action Canyon, received it for christmas like 12-11ish years ago. It was the only set I ever revived in box, brand new from what I remember. I went absolutely bonkers christmas morning when I got it, even getting the stanley pack as a side gift. Again, I no longer have it, but I was able to keep the Stanley and Thomas I received all those years ago. Good memories.
I have the Timouth sheds set and pieces of the Misty Island. I remember watching The Great Discovery DVD and seeing the add for The Action Canyon and going”wow, that looks amazing. Where can I get that?”
To this day I still have action canyon in my possession, it may miss a few pieces, but most of it is still together. I pull it out every few years or so and just, relive the sweet childhood memories
I have the shake shake bridge set and the blue mountain mystery set. Loved those sets
I remember watching the “Great Discovery” DVD when I was little and they would always show the action canyon commercial and I wanted it so badly back then.
These trackmaster sets are awesome (especially action canyon) too bad we don’t get sets like these anymore
Its too bad that the trains got redesigned into the new version that cartoon network made 🙁
@@ARCTICN0VA same
When I tell you, action canyon was the shit (excuse me for the language but like, my favorite set of all time ;_;), I mean it. The Action canyon set made me so extremely happy as a kid-
The Thomas Action Canyon was my first Trackmaster set in my life. And I'm proud of it being at the 1st set.
Ooh, I wish I can get that too when I was 12.
i am by no means a member of the thomas fandom. i grew out of it long ago, in favor of video games like super mario and pokemon. i can remember getting the misty island deluxe set for christmas when i was... roughly seven? seeing it complete again makes me feel nostalgic. i remember getting the set for christmas and having a blast with it. seeing that grand canyon ad brought tears to my eyes as well. i remember going onto my dead-beat windows xp and watching trailers for the toys as a kid. that one mustve been in one of the dvds i had.
currently, i am in college and do not have most of the trains i used to own. hell, i barely have much thought of anything thomas, but thank you for reminding me of a simplier time in my life. i rarely like videos these days, but you deserve one.
The set to have when I was growing up was the Tomy Thomas Big Set. It was my first set and the one I built every layout off of
Amazing top list. Looking back on the Classic Trackmaster sets makes me really miss the golden ages of Thomas Merchandise.
the action canyon set was probably the only trackmaster set i had growing up, but my lord did it entertain me for hours, days, even months. i was a huge thomas fanatic as a child and thomas is what introduced me to real-world steam locomotives. loved this play set as a kiddo and im in the process of trying to dig it up again
the bias is valid B) at least to me
I actually have an alternate version of the Thomas’s Daring Drop set. It’s called the Risky Rails Bridge Drop. It’s the same layout as Thomas’s Daring Drop except it lacks the yellow gate and has a red boulder car, two boulders, a drop off and loading station, and a track and zip line for the boulders that attached to Merick.
the 00's and early 10s where a good time to be a trackmaster fan/collector
I absolutely loved that Action Canyon set growing up! I remember being I getting this when it first came out and my dad always had to help me put it back together 😂. Good times.
I remember having the winter version of the action canyon and it was amazing
God, the nostalgia emanating from this video makes me so happy, yet so sad. Trackmaster was my childhood and most of these were my favorite sets.
I had the shake shake bridge and Great discovery sets, but I had to give them to my cousin and throw away part of the Great Discovery set along with a Tomy set I had sadly, which was only because my parents had bought me he Blue Mountain Mystery set which I cried for and said that I had to get rid of my old tracks. I still have another set that came with Arthur and Thomas from my neighbor grandson. I still have both that and Blue Mountain in a tote in my closet, I still regret giving away and throwing out my other sets, including the stem works I had got from that same neighbor. That same cousin also let his parent throw out his old Thomas sets including the pieces I gave him while I was there with them and couldn’t doing anything about it cause I was 15 or 16 at the time, but I’m 17 now with a small love for Thomas still.🙂
Action Canyon was my personal favorite set, I ran that set for HOURS, and loved connecting it to this small one-engine shed set, I loved it to pieces
Very nice
That action canyon ad just reactivated my childhood memories and now i’m overwhelmed
lord have mercy
The moment you said "Plarail" I got a flashback of these massive Japanese sets when a guy would put a camera on one of the trains and full send it
I remember the day I got the Great Discovery DVD, I was met by the fisher price commercial and then just the best commercial for a Thomas merchandise product ever made. I always asked for it but never got it, and now I feel like I need it
Do you think you’ll do another video like this were you talk about your personal favorite trackmaster sets?
i remember having the action canyon set. i think i still have all the pieces, but i’m pretty sure the thomas stopped working because of all the slam-into-another-train accidents i would always do with it. i’m pretty sure i had the 2011 version, because it was a hit era looking thomas. i don’t remember too much about it, (probably because i was only 3-5 when i got it) but nonetheless, it was a really fun set that i played with for hours when i was a toddler. very deserving of the number 1 spot on this list.
i still have the action canyon set that I got for Christmas nice video
I used to have Action Canyon and it was a really awesome set. I loved it.
Also the blue mountain set I had was different, it had a zip line that carried a boulders to a little station that a stopper at the end so you could put the boulders back in Thomas’s cart
Man I remembered having the misty island set that was awesome and the blue mountain mystery .
I had every one of these and they are so nostalgic
Man I remember I had both the misty island sets, tidmouth sheds hit version, the blue mountain quarry and action canyon.
omg that action canyon set ad made me SOOOO nostalgic
You should do tomy next! Lemme tell you the plarail search and rescue set is AMAZING! it has aback and go Thomas which goes forwards and backwards. It has a nice figure 8 track, a nice little building, and Harold.
I used to have that set, I broke the Thomas though, I'm very sad about that
I got that blue mountain set and the james set when I was younger its lost in a bin somewhere in my room
@TrainBoy My top 1 set would be the Hero of the Rails steam works set because of that rotating thing it had. I loved it so much because I had never seen anything like it before! Sadly I never got it but I did have lots of trackmasters. *Sadly my mom sold them all.. But I am rebuilding my collection with Plarail and some trackmasters!*
YOU’RE ONE OF MY FAV UA-camRS
I remember playing with the Troublesome Traps set.
It was my cousin's.
I was jealous that they had a Trackmaster James.
Bro I had all of these except 5 and 2 they were a blast to link together
I had Action Canyon as a kid! I absolutely loved it and played with it for hours. I really miss it
This video brings me back memories. The eagerness and begging to get action canyon. Sadly I never got it but I did 2 mist island sets and some other good track sets. Today I still wish I had action canyon
Ah I remember getting the Misty Island deluxe pack for my birthday and I had hours of fun, everynow and then I crack it out and set it up.
I had 12 different sets that being the blue TOMY tracks, classic tracks, and trackmaster tracks. I put them all together and it was the experience of the biggest set! The way I put the sets together was that there is a custom piece that let you connect blue tracks, original tracks, and trackmaster tracks! I love the sets that release over the years.
I unfortunately never had action Canyon… I've always wanted it growing up
Wait I had the action canyon set and more than half the the misty island sets it’s great to relive those memories thank you
My first ever track master set was #1 and I’m glad it was, my second was shake shake bridge and last was #2. Sadly I only have #2 left in my closet still, but I still have the engines that went with them mostly being Thomas lol, but I also have this other set that came with Arthur from my neighbors grandson.
Is it by any chance Arthur at Copper’s Mine?
I have the Misty Island Deluxe set, and I would clean out my whole living room (even tho it didn't take up that much room) just to set it up. It was and still is my favorite Trackmasters set!
Great video! Curious what your favorite Tomy sets are
Awesome video 🚂❤️😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I remember playing with set #1 a lot as a little kid. The great memories…
The 2010 Busy Day On Sodor set should've been on here. I loved it so much as a kid, and it was where most of my Trackmaster pieces came from. I adored it so much, I even made my mom cut of the back of the box and hang it in my room as a "poster" lol
I has a mist island set when i was a kid. Awesome
I remember getting #2. It was a very awesome christmas gift that I still own (I own some pieces)
The thumbnail is exquisite
I got the reskined version of number 5, which included Percy and a Mail Coach, resembling that one scene from TOTB.
3:37 I remember I wanted this set so badly, sadly I didn't get it. I did get a Tidmouth Sheds set tho, but it wasn't what I hope it would be, the Tidmouth Sheds set I got was the version I think was released in 2009 that came with a regular Thomas, and a turntable that you couldn't even turn manually.
The only Trackmaster set on this list I actually owned, and that was the Misty Island set. Glad to see it recognized
i remember seeing action canyon in the ad before the movie started on the dvd and really wanting it when i was little
I remember my brother and I did a grandmaster race on a sodor spiral and action canyon layout. A lot of chaos, and a lot of accidents and crashes. But the worst part is, I forgot who won!
