There was a glow in the dark Edward? Wow, i'm surprised he actually has a variant cos usually it's just Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas and Thomas, with the occasional Percy & James and very rarely Diesel.
A lot of these really...REALLY make it clear just how badly the franchise has been treated, with them forgetting that they're talking trains and not explorers, adventurers, and so on., Rails over lava? Dragons? God, I feel glad that Awdry's been dead for nearly 30 years, if he wasn't I feel like some of these sets would have led to him taking his own life.
I love how they mislabelled Tidmouth Hault as Lower Tidmouth. In fact, that seems to be a running issue will these stations (Except for Ffarquhar, Maithwaite, and Knapford)
You know they could have re-released Oliver in the Tidmout Hault set so North America could have got him considering it's the Little Western. But nope Mattel thinks Thomas must come with every set so collectors have like 200 of him.
Dude that James and the Boulder set was one of my favorites as a kid. I’ve still got it somewhere in a bin as well as the huge “Great Discovery” set. I can build the entire thing from memory. 😂
I agree with the Dragon Escape set being number 1 on this list. I remember when I bought it in 2019 thinking it was great. Then I started using it when I got it. I didn't like it, the whole thing was cheaply designed, it felt boring, the dragon was only printed and detailed on one side, overall it sucked. Same thing happened to me on Christmas 2021. I got that shitty Trains and Cranes Super Tower. Its not sitting in the back of my layout, collecting dust. Tbh, I just use it as a Search and Rescue center. May be dumb, considering the fact that I still don't use it

shame that children are growing up with weird, brightly colored and gimmicky sets that want to become the next paw patrol. older sets were simplistic and had a lot of charm in them.
One of the worst I have seen people complain about is the Snowy Mountain Rescue set. I saw the video from Leokimvideo, and he didn’t finish the review. The mountain has that huge latch that makes the set unable to work with trucks.
Runaway boulder upgrade: If you replace sir handel with rusty and add a face to the rock (or replace it with boulder from take along center island quarry) this set can be pretty much amazing... Rattle and shake coal hopper shouldve included sir handel Btw, speaking of boulder's mountain and sir handel, i used to think sir handel was in the episode talking to boulder on a shed (on the tracks), in which boulder eventually rolls to sir handel as he (sir handel) runs away instead of rusty

I havent seen those since 2012. In retrospect though, that was what probably got me interested in foreign media considering that I remember seeing a lot of Japanese Thomas videos as a 4 year old
to be honest all of the trackmaster 1/tomy stuff was to build your OWN island of sodor which I really liked meanwhile trackmaster 2 is all about the gimmicks
I had Thomas’ busy day set as a kid. I loved it and I have a lot of nostalgia for it. I got so much use out of that station whether it was for Trackmaster, take along or wooden railway.
Awesome video! I grew up with the old Tomy blue track Thomas and Friends merch and they were my favorite ones to play with it as a kid. I still have it to this day stored in a box upstairs. Would love to see a video covering the best from that line of merch.

I actually did have the Marion and Thomas set as a kid, I liked that I could move the station around whenever I made a new railway, and I didn't have batteries and had to manually move the trains, which I thought was fun and the second note I have is that I actually think the scrap yard escape set looks pretty cool, would have loved to have that as a kid

Its the first older trackmaster thing ive got and its really fun and simple for me. I dont want anything too big or overstimulating and what im trying to avoid is having to baby sit my engines running on the track. For this set, its simple, durable, and easy.

I used to play with these all the time. I had the classic sets and I had over time filled an entire tub of these sets so I could fill my entire house with these. I still have them today and I will pass them down to my kids when I have some
Number 5 isn't that bad. It's an okay starter set, it could have had Annie and Clarabel with Thomas. Number 4 had potential. It should have came with Percy instead of Thomas. Heck they could have made a big Percy's Chocolate Crunch Themed Set. There could have been a big oval track and a switch that leads into a 3d chocolate factory where Percy can crash through. Number 3 should've been James at Boulder Mountain except they switch James out with Rusty. Number 2 wasn't terrible , but when you mentioned the Steelworks it made more sense. why dont they call it thomas at lower tidmouth?
"Just a Thomas at a station." ~Tons of Trackmasters

I’ll always prefer the trackmaster range made by Hit Entertainment for nostalgia, over Mattel’s toy ranges.
Ehh, although idc for AEG, I will say that the Push Along toys are good. The Trackmaster toys are decent.
I wish they made rolling stock packs again.
But the Mattel ones have More acurrate numbers

I was gonna put OG Tomy on the list and really quickly remembered;
There are like NO bad Tomy sets. (Or worse than what’s here imo)
I haven't caught up to Thomas PlaRail since forever. Are the other companies aside from Tomy allowed to do the PlaRail design of the trains and connecting pieces?
As a kid who had Plarail and mostly Trackmaster sets
It was amazing, the holy grail of childhood
