    Biggest takeaway:
    1) We attract people with same stress level and wounding as we are
    2) how to manifest from action board
    3) I need to meet the standard of what I want in a partner
    4) I could have hidden parts of me because my parents didn’t love it (meditation)

Dr. Tara Swart articulates her thoughts with exceptional eloquence, and I admire her bravery in addressing topics that might typically be met with skepticism within the scientific community. Her willingness to broach these topics is the true spirit of scientific inquiry, which is fundamentally about posing daring questions and venturing into the realms of the unknown. My frame of reference is very skewed; I am empathetic to a fault. People manipulate me all the time no matter how self aware I am of my own vulnerabilities. I cannot seem to set healthy boundaries in any of my relationships. Work, kids, romantic, I just suck at it. Being aware of it and working on it doesn’t help; I default to my frame of reference that most people are good. So I cannot rely on my own intuition or intelligence to make good choices. It is embarrassing but at least now I accept who I am.

@@CopingwithGrattitude I'm the same, I attract stoners and I don't know why? And dating a stoner is like being alone, they smoke pot to check out of reality. After my last relationship I decided I was done trying to find love. Years later no dating, low and behold some guy asked me if I wanted to be friends?
So I thought sure why not he seems like a nice guy. After our 3rd interaction tells me he is a stoner, of course! why should I expect the script to change?!! I'm really not sure what this is about, why stoners, I'm not a stoner! I don't get it, this is all my life has shown me over and over.

Visualizing and hoping for something or someone and then not having the desired outcome, due to the fact you really don't believe you can, due to life experience and the resulting lack of self- confidence.
A quote from Maya Angelou"Stand up straight and realize who you are, that you tower over your circumstances." These words are very encouraging for anyone.
As far as who you attract is concerned, I believe hurt people are sometimes attracted to other hurt people without fully realizing the why of the attraction.

You also leave people because of your own psychological wounds, not just if you evolve out of them. One of the clues as to which is how you leave them, and if you give them real opportunities to fix, or discuss your point of view. Or whether you lie to and betray them.

    • @passerby6168
      @passerby6168 3 місяці тому

@@Astral.Artistry It is difficult to know what to say. One does not wish to go hard on another undeservingly. Even so, some hardness might be just what they need to strengthen their resolve. So:
Learn not to be a doormat without losing who you are, without losing your soul. Remember the words of Jesus - "Love one another as you love yourself". Not more than. Not less than. That is the key. If you enable someone who wishes a person to be a doormat for them, what does that make you? At minimum an accomplice.
Think of and set up boundaries founded on this principle (loving not more than or less than yourself). And take it from there. You will of course need resilience and courage, because it's easier to be a doormat if your tendency is to be a martyr.
I bring up Jesus again (since you mentioned martyr) - he was not a willing martyr but willing to do the will of his Father. He asked if this cup (events that were going to take place) could pass (not happen) but that he would do what his Father wanted. This proved he was no masochist or crazy fanatic. If he had been a willing doormat his sacrifice would have meant nothing. It would have been his will not his Father's will and thus have undone his example of obeying God's will.
In other words, do what you know is right. Not what she wants. Not what you want from her. And things will arrange themselves in the best manner possible. It may be an end of something or a renewal of something, but it will be the right thing.

Just got to let them all go and accept I don’t need to make up for any of them.

We give our wounds far too much credit and power in my opinion. While they do contribute to whatever frequency we emit out into the Universe, they are not the totality of what we manifest and attract into our lives. There is LIGHT inside of us as well - a lot of it. And given the opportunity to dominate our awareness over empowering our wounds to run the show, what we attract into our lives will be much more empowering to our existence in this current 3-D experience.

I also believe we have reached a level of consciousness that help us all link science with something higher than we know. The more we know, the more questions we discover, the more of the wrong teachings we also uncover, so yes, science will inevitably bring us closer to the source, since science is all about the search of the truth.

    Biggest takeaway:
The fact that grief is such a predominant emotion in us.

This was an interesting episode, by no means that any less than the others. One personal experience I wish I could share with Tara to have her response: In 2021 when I was walking home a giant hawk was sitting on a very low branch of a tree and a squirrel on another tree was continuously screaming. Squirrels are all over the place where I live but a hawk was near impossible to see. Everybody was recording but scared because the hawk was too close to the ground and we had to walk through there- I was honestly worried about small dogs, squirrels, etc. Later realized the hawk was directly starring at me. This is late evening but not dark yet. Seeing those sharp eyes locked on me scared me like nothing can describe. I did not take my eyes off of the hawk until I get to my building.
Next day very early morning I woke up feeling like there was no air to breathe at home. Also I wasn’t feeling ok. Something was off. No brushing teeth or nothing, just grabbed my beanie, winter coat, boots and headed to my favorite dog run to watch them play to feel better.. even texted a friend and told what’s going on. 6 months later accidentally found out that night/early morning my dear grandpa passed away. Nobody even told me- that’s another toxic family story. But how the hawk appeared in the crowded apartment complex and found me to look me in the eyes and next morning the way I woke up and literally got out of the house like there was no oxygen inside…. I still cannot explain. I wonder what would Dr. Tara say 🥺

It is a good question about too much of gratitude. I recently realized that when I am too grateful expressing too much gratitude, I feel like I was not deserving what I am grateful for. Like I am too lucky to have everything. And then questions like “why me?” “why I have it and others don’t?” come along, and I start feeling doubts about myself

After watching the whole podcast I just want to say your podcast made me get closer to my religion i.e. Islam. Everything you said has been mentioned in it or is a practice of it.
What TARA said about being able to talk to your loved lost ones. I want to share my experience on that. So I lost my father at the age of 15 and to still have that connection here's what I experienced. You can have that experience through dreams. Every time he has come in my dreams and talked to me I have felt the cold and calming energy in my dreams. When I would wake up from having a conversation with him in my dream it would be fajar time i.e muslim morning prayer which is around 4-5 AM. Another time which he would come in my dream is in afternoon. When I would wake up it would be 3 PM. Those dream meetups felt so real and peaceful and I actually had conversation with him.
I talked about this to my mother she experienced the exact same thing. She would also see him at those exact same times. I was talking about it to my bestie who lost her mother and she experienced the same things. It's crazy to even think that you can still have a bind after their physical death.

Another thing I would like to add that just popped up in my brain. I remember when he was alive we all were just sitting talking and we started talking about grandma. Now I had never seen her as she passed away before I was born. But something strange happened. We were talking about her and suddenly a sharp smell of flowers or just a very pleasant smell I don't even know what was it but it just filled the room and when we pointed it out it disappeared and I looked at the time it was 3 PM. Ngl we were all like that's strange maybe it was grandma. It's a crazy thing.

Have you ever heard of repetition compulsion? It isn't a conscious pattern. We can be careful of red flags and take things slowly, but when we are dating while wounded, we find that eventually, the other person "makes us" feel the same emotional pattern that a caregiver made us feel (usually whichever caregiver has had their attachment with us broken in some way, whichever parent you're more likely to hide things from, lol).
We respond to our partner in the same way we responded to our parents as very young children. Which is why the threat of abandonment is taken so seriously when a person doesn't have secure attachment. They're being thrown back into their childhood, their partner in the here and now is seen as betraying them; the body knows this betrayal and taps into the old energy, piling it on, basically: "here, all of THIS is relevant, might as well move it along since this is the feeling that's tapped on."
Healing includes approaching the familiar dynamic in an entirely different way. If we attempt to avoid that dynamic entirely and haven't figured out what we are doing "wrong" in the way we respond, haven't identified the way we want to proactively handle the concern, I have found that the very same pattern will simply show up in a different way, different type of relationship or context.
To remove ourselves from the puzzle, we do have to solve it, and be able to take those actions in the world (not simply internally understanding but being able to apply and embody the lesson regularly in our interpersonal behaviors). That has been my experience with it, the last few decades. I was aware of it and what it indicated but I didn't know the information in depth enough to know how to get out of the cycle.

You're manifesting it BECAUSE you're thinking about it. You're creating your signs. So, be careful what signs you look for and respond to. Lewis asks if there can be too much gratitude or can it have an adverse effect. Based in research, yes it can, and dependent on culture. For example, in certain cultures, gratitude can prompt feelings of guilt or that “I should have” behaved in certain ways to express I am thankful. When you practice gratitude be mindful it is not accompanied by thoughts or feelings of guilt. Otherwise, it is a signal to deal with the guilt to clear it. ❤

Then one is shifting in & out of gratitude to those other "wobbles" of guilt etc. Guilt is different vibe that gratitude.

I love this! The entire conversation. Tara is an amazing person and so are you! I’ve become highly interested in learning about neuroscience/neuroplasticity. One thing I’ve noticed though, after watching many you tube videos and listening to many podcasts is that the age differences between the genders when it comes to loving relationships between a man and a woman has never really been discussed, talked about, explained, or addressed. We all know that it is ok or acceptable in society for a man to date or marry a younger woman but when flipped and the woman is 5, 10, 15, or 20 years older than a man, it is not ok, acceptable, and in fact, looked down upon. What say Dr Tara Swart and you about this subject?
