Dr. Tara Swart articulates her thoughts with exceptional eloquence, and I admire her bravery in addressing topics that might typically be met with skepticism within the scientific community. Her willingness to broach these topics is the true spirit of scientific inquiry, which is fundamentally about posing daring questions and venturing into the realms of the unknown. Thanks to both of you for such a treat.
I am a yoga teacher and honestly I can not pin down just one of my biggest take aways from this. This has made me understand the reason why I love what I do and how it’s all connected. Ancient wisdom is not called ancient wisdom for no reason. And the fact we have someone like Tara also representing and backing it all up with modern science, the gratitude is seeping through me ❤ Thank you so so much for this podcast! I can kind of see that. But the other part is that we eventually leave those people behind when we heal our wounds and they don’t. I can definitely see that.
So if a girl is showing interest in me there's a reason we have same frequency? Happened to me in the gym .... But my confidence is so low I never said "hi"
Hey, manifesting love is such a beautiful concept! It's all about putting out positive energy and intentions into the universe to attract love into your life. Whether it's through visualization, affirmations, or simply being open to love, the key is to believe in the power of love and stay open to the possibilities.
My frame of reference is very skewed; I am empathetic to a fault. People manipulate me all the time no matter how self aware I am of my own vulnerabilities. I cannot seem to set healthy boundaries in any of my relationships. Work, kids, romantic, I just suck at it. Being aware of it and working on it doesn’t help; I default to my frame of reference that most people are good. So I cannot rely on my own intuition or intelligence to make good choices. It is embarrassing but at least now I accept who I am.
@@CopingwithGrattitude I'm the same, I attract stoners and I don't know why? And dating a stoner is like being alone, they smoke pot to check out of reality. After my last relationship I decided I was done trying to find love. Years later no dating, low and behold some guy asked me if I wanted to be friends? So I thought sure why not he seems like a nice guy. After our 3rd interaction tells me he is a stoner, of course! why should I expect the script to change?!! I'm really not sure what this is about, why stoners, I'm not a stoner! I don't get it, this is all my life has shown me over and over.
Visualizing and hoping for something or someone and then not having the desired outcome, due to the fact you really don't believe you can, due to life experience and the resulting lack of self- confidence. A quote from Maya Angelou"Stand up straight and realize who you are, that you tower over your circumstances." These words are very encouraging for anyone. As far as who you attract is concerned, I believe hurt people are sometimes attracted to other hurt people without fully realizing the why of the attraction.
I absolutely love the smell of my husband. He also says my smell is intoxicating lol We've been together almost 18 years. Omg I'm LOVING this episode ❤❤
I love it when they talk about smell. It kind of takes me back to Marcel Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past “But when from a long-distant past nothing subsists, after the people are dead, after the things are broken and scattered…the smell and taste of things remain poised a long time, like souls, ready to remind us, waiting and hoping for their moment.” 🌸

This is profound. When i was in a different mental state i attracted the like over the years i have worked on myself and have attracted like minded people. Manifestation is real people.
I'm a Reflexologist therapist, I help facilitate the reflexes of the body, spirit, and mind to go into a self-corrective mode from past trauma. Watching this video, I can relate to a lot of what they are saying spiritually, emotionally and mentally.
One of many parts that stood out to me was when Tara brought up the realization that even greater things could manifest for her/us than she/we could ever even imagine. I love that so much. I've been being guided lately to "expect the unexpected" so this piece very much resonates with me. Absolutely love listening to you both! Thank you ❤
You also leave people because of your own psychological wounds, not just if you evolve out of them. One of the clues as to which is how you leave them, and if you give them real opportunities to fix, or discuss your point of view. Or whether you lie to and betray them.
Well said. I can guess from this statement that you suffered from some abuse. For that reason, not a lot of people will be able to understand or resonate with what you're saying.
@@Astral.Artistry It is difficult to know what to say. One does not wish to go hard on another undeservingly. Even so, some hardness might be just what they need to strengthen their resolve. So: Learn not to be a doormat without losing who you are, without losing your soul. Remember the words of Jesus - "Love one another as you love yourself". Not more than. Not less than. That is the key. If you enable someone who wishes a person to be a doormat for them, what does that make you? At minimum an accomplice. Think of and set up boundaries founded on this principle (loving not more than or less than yourself). And take it from there. You will of course need resilience and courage, because it's easier to be a doormat if your tendency is to be a martyr. I bring up Jesus again (since you mentioned martyr) - he was not a willing martyr but willing to do the will of his Father. He asked if this cup (events that were going to take place) could pass (not happen) but that he would do what his Father wanted. This proved he was no masochist or crazy fanatic. If he had been a willing doormat his sacrifice would have meant nothing. It would have been his will not his Father's will and thus have undone his example of obeying God's will. In other words, do what you know is right. Not what she wants. Not what you want from her. And things will arrange themselves in the best manner possible. It may be an end of something or a renewal of something, but it will be the right thing.
love your self more choose you- people need to heal their trauma on their own not bc their forced to lose the person the secretly betrayed over 9 years.. you can love and let go
I guess Tara is not the only one connecting spirituality and science. Joe Dispenza is another great example that brings both elements together. I also believe we have reached a level of consciousness that help us all link science with something higher than we know. The more we know, the more questions we discover, the more of the wrong teachings we also uncover, so yes, science will inevitably bring us closer to the source, since science is all about the search of the truth.
We give our wounds far too much credit and power in my opinion. While they do contribute to whatever frequency we emit out into the Universe, they are not the totality of what we manifest and attract into our lives. There is LIGHT inside of us as well - a lot of it. And given the opportunity to dominate our awareness over empowering our wounds to run the show, what we attract into our lives will be much more empowering to our existence in this current 3-D experience.
That's what I had been thinking all this good 30 yrs! But the trauma that happened 30yrs back when I was a kid.. ever since then I had only been surviving.. I thank God He allowed me see it
Dear Lewis, You are are so good at drawing out Tara’s brilliance and so sincerely interested in what she is pursuing! I found this podcast fascinating! Your kind acceptance and appreciation of her neuroscience investigations supports her efforts.
This should be the video everyone should watch in their manifestation journey. Believing is everything it takes to attract what we want, but believing is attached many times to our own perception of worthiness. ❤

I just learned about manifestation in 2022. I told myself i will try it out so i started making vision boards. I had achieved a 4.0 gpa in my class and had also achieved a scholarship. Delightful voice and very intelligent woman. All the senses are very important. One of the joys of being a carnal being, we get to experience all while living on this earth. Thank you
Biggest takeaway: The fact that grief is such a predominant emotion in us. Honestly, it gave me hope. It resonated within my heart that one day I may be able to reach that level of connection with my loved one.
They say time is a great healer. That true longer for some of us. Meditation. Frends. Yoga . Light weights . Tia chie all helps with healing 💕 hope everyone gets there soon
I had a friend who spend a while in hospital and he told me once that he had a conversation with a nurse that told him about a case where there had been a heart transplantation and the cured person had dreams about an accident after that regularly. It turned out that the heart came from a person from this accident. Maybe thats why Dr. Swart sees heart shapes all the time, because it is a sign for her to study also the other "brain" in our body. The heart.
It is a good question about too much of gratitude. I recently realized that when I am too grateful expressing too much gratitude, I feel like I was not deserving what I am grateful for. Like I am too lucky to have everything. And then questions like “why me?” “why I have it and others don’t?” come along, and I start feeling doubts about myself
The description hits home. My last heartbreak was almost a direct result of me trying to avoid the trauma of my last one. Both were girls from my university courses. And the former heartbreak was me trying not to repeat the mistake of the very first trauma from school. Just got to let them all go and accept I don’t need to make up for any of them. It’s hard though. I really think the last girl could have been great but I overthought and was in the grip of ego given my previous experiences. But then I did get an absolutely horrible response when I tried to reach out and get closure. Time to go all in on me and stop ruminating.
Let all that go and open the door for new and greater possibilities. What the universe "GOD" has prepared for you is someone much more unique special and unique. Those experiences were just the stepping stones preparing you for the next Lady who you can't afford to lose. When you see her your intuition" will let you know. Have faith and believe that the Higher power has your back. Just do the right thing and all the stars will align for you. ✨
@@camuchanomellini903 thank you. Just wish my brain would let it go. Focusing on me now. But tbh I never want to bend myself out of shape for anybody ever again.
@@tedbless8237 I behaved somewhat erratically looking back. But the real issue was after mixed signals I thought I’d be making up for the first heartbreak by making a big play the second time. I thought I knew this woman and if it didn’t come off I’d be let down easy. Just little closure around her blocking/unblocking blocking when she ended it then. I know in the surface that’s mad behaviour anyway but I can’t help but blame myself for getting to that point. Forgiving myself and concentrating on self love. Just wish I didn’t wake up thinking about it everyday
Wow. I love Dr. Tara. She gets both streams of consciousness and is open to the historical, mythological, shamed side as well as the hard science. Beautiful.
One of the most encouraging and validating interviews I’ve seen. Absolutely incredible and beautiful stuff. I will have this interview in replay for years. Can’t wait to read her book and follow her on instagram. By far one of the most fascinating woman of our time. Wow!
After watching the whole podcast I just want to say your podcast made me get closer to my religion i.e. Islam. Everything you said has been mentioned in it or is a practice of it. What TARA said about being able to talk to your loved lost ones. I want to share my experience on that. So I lost my father at the age of 15 and to still have that connection here's what I experienced. You can have that experience through dreams. Every time he has come in my dreams and talked to me I have felt the cold and calming energy in my dreams. When I would wake up from having a conversation with him in my dream it would be fajar time i.e muslim morning prayer which is around 4-5 AM. Another time which he would come in my dream is in afternoon. When I would wake up it would be 3 PM. Those dream meetups felt so real and peaceful and I actually had conversation with him. I talked about this to my mother she experienced the exact same thing. She would also see him at those exact same times. I was talking about it to my bestie who lost her mother and she experienced the same things. It's crazy to even think that you can still have a bind after their physical death.
Another thing I would like to add that just popped up in my brain. I remember when he was alive we all were just sitting talking and we started talking about grandma. Now I had never seen her as she passed away before I was born. But something strange happened. We were talking about her and suddenly a sharp smell of flowers or just a very pleasant smell I don't even know what was it but it just filled the room and when we pointed it out it disappeared and I looked at the time it was 3 PM. Ngl we were all like that's strange maybe it was grandma. It's a crazy thing.
there is no doubt in my mind about the existence of the spirit world / quantum field... it is all about energy, frequency and vibration.... the brain is important but only in 3D... it acts as a receiver... it's good to see you are opening towards and talking about the quantum realm...
I really really appreciate the initial definition of manifestation because this one is real. Manifestation is choosing a goal and taking steps to achieve it. Plenty of other people talk about manifestation as if it's some magic thing that brings you your desires if you just narcicistically believe in yourself and that the universe bends to your will.
This is great. Nearly everything Tara talks about here sounds like Jung. He was sooo ahead of his time. Good to see his theories coming into the mainstream. Great talk! Thank you!
I prefer the form: I appreciate, better than expressing gratitude because gratitude has a connotation of being not good enough to have or receive so you feel thankful for it. Feeling less than and not powerful.
The neurologist's insights is remarkable! However, the interview could have been more enriching if it covered topics like manifestation, the impact of beliefs on health, and the role of a higher power, instead of primarily focusing on relationships.
I’m a 70 yr old woman who has experienced what Tara speaks of and I agree with her studies and explanations. I appreciate the spiral explanation and also believe our astrals project into the future and when we catch up with that moment in “real” time, we call it Deja vu. Our minds are connected to the universal consciousness and trusting that is key. ❤
This was an interesting episode, by no means that any less than the others. One personal experience I wish I could share with Tara to have her response: In 2021 when I was walking home a giant hawk was sitting on a very low branch of a tree and a squirrel on another tree was continuously screaming. Squirrels are all over the place where I live but a hawk was near impossible to see. Everybody was recording but scared because the hawk was too close to the ground and we had to walk through there- I was honestly worried about small dogs, squirrels, etc. Later realized the hawk was directly starring at me. This is late evening but not dark yet. Seeing those sharp eyes locked on me scared me like nothing can describe. I did not take my eyes off of the hawk until I get to my building. Next day very early morning I woke up feeling like there was no air to breathe at home. Also I wasn’t feeling ok. Something was off. No brushing teeth or nothing, just grabbed my beanie, winter coat, boots and headed to my favorite dog run to watch them play to feel better.. even texted a friend and told what’s going on. 6 months later accidentally found out that night/early morning my dear grandpa passed away. Nobody even told me- that’s another toxic family story. But how the hawk appeared in the crowded apartment complex and found me to look me in the eyes and next morning the way I woke up and literally got out of the house like there was no oxygen inside…. I still cannot explain. I wonder what would Dr. Tara say 🥺
Native here... hawks are very very spiritual to in our culture. I can almost guarantee the hawk was your grandpa coming to see you one last time before he made his journey 🤍🥹 I hope you can find peace in this.
When you think of someone and they call you it's telepathy. If you believe in the quantum field and energy transmitting between everything all the time then this is real. You both aligned at the same moment. Very fascinating conversation. I've been meditating for 13 years, did 10 years cognitive behavioral therapy, did acupuncture for a year and started micro dosing psilocybin 3 years ago. So I think the difference between psychedelic mushrooms and meditating is that psychedelics quickly unlock wounds that we have deeply hidden in our subconscious. On psilocybin I've uncovered traumas that never came out in therapy never came through meditation and that I never knew was there until the Plant took me back to that moment in time. It's just a quick jolt into healing and surrender than anything else experienced.
Having gratitude within the context that all we could possibly ask for need or want is already in our hands... This is where we create and receive from x
13:30 “I’m not grateful for the pain I’m going through. I’m grateful for my dog…” I see it differently. If the pain we’re going through is emotional pain, then being grateful for that pain whilst looking for the limiting belief and/or the lesson in the experience that led to the pain is what gratitude is all about. We don’t have to like the pain, but we can still be grateful. It’s a knowing that something bigger is at work and everything and everyone in our life serves a purpose toward our growth and expansion.
it might be true if you are unaware but once you realize about your own psycholgical wounds you simply reject those and open to other people, its not that hard.
Have you ever heard of repetition compulsion? It isn't a conscious pattern. We can be careful of red flags and take things slowly, but when we are dating while wounded, we find that eventually, the other person "makes us" feel the same emotional pattern that a caregiver made us feel (usually whichever caregiver has had their attachment with us broken in some way, whichever parent you're more likely to hide things from, lol). We respond to our partner in the same way we responded to our parents as very young children. Which is why the threat of abandonment is taken so seriously when a person doesn't have secure attachment. They're being thrown back into their childhood, their partner in the here and now is seen as betraying them; the body knows this betrayal and taps into the old energy, piling it on, basically: "here, all of THIS is relevant, might as well move it along since this is the feeling that's tapped on." Healing includes approaching the familiar dynamic in an entirely different way. If we attempt to avoid that dynamic entirely and haven't figured out what we are doing "wrong" in the way we respond, haven't identified the way we want to proactively handle the concern, I have found that the very same pattern will simply show up in a different way, different type of relationship or context. To remove ourselves from the puzzle, we do have to solve it, and be able to take those actions in the world (not simply internally understanding but being able to apply and embody the lesson regularly in our interpersonal behaviors). That has been my experience with it, the last few decades. I was aware of it and what it indicated but I didn't know the information in depth enough to know how to get out of the cycle.
So true....Healing is rough. We have to sometimes stop playing victim, stop projecting problems. We have to learn to be honest and courageous to heal. We have to confront our shadows, integrate them, heal our wounds..... Only just learnt this. Never too late... Watching from Jhb South Africa

Dr. Tara is a real blessing to this world. Thank you, Universe, for bringing her here because she opens my eyes so widely. Thank you, Dr. Tara; you’re simply awesome 🙏
Me: I suffered a lot because of my alcoholic father. After I graduated from the university my only hope was to marry a man with a beautiful and peaceful family background without wounds from childhood like me. Because all I needed was a partner with happy memories. That's much I was tired with my childhood. Because of that I had to refuse some good guys who asked my love. Just because they had painful childhood too.
It’s so empowering to be in a position of hardship, turmoil and/or loss and to be ABLE to be grateful for the situation, the pain and the lesson and revelations offered. 🙏
Yes. Loved it. LEWIS I feel you are always carrying out self therapy whilst interviewing. Very skilled way to self sooth your inner child as well as get great interviews with your guest. Love Tara's work too, she explains it all in laymen terms. Thank you ❤
Listening to Lewis and Dr. Tara its seems to me that it is high time that neuroscience finally collaborate intensively with spirituality. The scientists will find a lot of their questions answered in really diving deep into all forms of meditation, rituals and communication with all that there is.
I think it’s dangerous to say the Shaman’s who’ve been doing Auyahsca ceremonies “don’t need to purge”. If they said “the plants 🌱 “ told them what to do to have this experience, there’s got to be a good reason for the purge.
Plants don't talk or send messages to any one. In the Andes of Peru the Shamans there do not use Ayahuasca to purge people. its wrong its use differently in a more spiritual way. check out "Cuzco Machu Picchu in the country of Peru.
@@Atarabatsarah I believe it is chacruna which containes DMT, Ayahuasca is the conductor wich supports the intake of the molecule through the digestive system.
One great thing I got out of this episode is that I should wait to have sex until I have a solid connection with a future partner instead of immediately.
Since I have been working on my inner child, I continue to experience signs and synchronicities from the universe that support and guide me. I genuinely believe that my ability to manifest is directly tied to my authenticity. And the closer I get to my authentic self, the more powerful I am.
Lewis asks if there can be too much gratitude or can it have an adverse effect. Based in research, yes it can, and dependent on culture. For example, in certain cultures, gratitude can prompt feelings of guilt or that “I should have” behaved in certain ways to express I am thankful. When you practice gratitude be mindful it is not accompanied by thoughts or feelings of guilt. Otherwise, it is a signal to deal with the guilt to clear it. ❤

Her willingness to broach these topics is the true spirit of scientific inquiry, which is fundamentally about posing daring questions and venturing into the realms of the unknown. Thanks to both of you for such a treat.
Fully agree with this
I love how she is explaining what us woo woo people experience . Grateful

Ancient wisdom is not called ancient wisdom for no reason. And the fact we have someone like Tara also representing and backing it all up with modern science, the gratitude is seeping through me ❤

Brain heart coherence, mind body connection, combining spirituality with reality, I love it all! Thank you 🙏🏼❤️🤗
Very interesting
We attract people based on psychological wounds, in other words we attract people of the same frequency
I can kind of see that. But the other part is that we eventually leave those people behind when we heal our wounds and they don’t. I can definitely see that.

Be the Energy you want to attract 🎉
Hey, manifesting love is such a beautiful concept! It's all about putting out positive energy and intentions into the universe to attract love into your life. Whether it's through visualization, affirmations, or simply being open to love, the key is to believe in the power of love and stay open to the possibilities.
I believed for a long time, all I attract are narcissists. I gave up!
@@CopingwithGrattitude But why
Same here...@@CopingwithGrattitude

@@Astral.Artistry We've "all" been there. I'm no young 'un. I would have appreciated such clarity earlier in life. All the best to you.
@@Astral.Artistry It is difficult to know what to say. One does not wish to go hard on another undeservingly. Even so, some hardness might be just what they need to strengthen their resolve. So:
Learn not to be a doormat without losing who you are, without losing your soul.
Beautiful

Biggest takeaway:
The fact that grief is such a predominant emotion in us.
Honestly, it gave me hope. It resonated within my heart that one day I may be able to reach that level of connection with my loved one.
Do you mean its because grief is such a dominant emotion in humans?
Predominant=before it was dominant? Confusing
The heart.
The most astounding thing about this episode is that she said she started studying this 30 years ago.
As a 72 year old who has been involved with meditation and all kinds of things since I was 22 her 30 year journey makes sense to me.
You have to stay in a love vibration to attract love. You can’t limit your gift to give love. This is prob what happened in your second relationship.

Great talk! Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.
Tara say 🥺
Thank you for sharing it touched me deeply.
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.

I absolutely loved the energy between the both of you. Makes everything you both spoke about even more interesting. Thank you 👍😊
13:30 “I’m not grateful for the pain I’m going through.
Depends on how deep your wounds are.
Yes I respectfully disagree on the difficulty point. It can be incredibly hard to break old habits. Simple but not easy, perhaps.
They're being thrown back into their childhood, their partner in the here and now is seen as betraying them; the body knows this betrayal and taps into the old energy, piling it on, basically: "here, all of THIS is relevant, might as well move it along since this is the feeling that's tapped on."
Healing includes approaching the familiar dynamic in an entirely different way.
This is exactly how I found my husband. It is possible.
Thanks for reminding me that we humans have Psychological Disorders ❤❤❤ It’s great to hear from a Neuroscientist ❤❤❤
So true....Healing is rough. We have to sometimes stop playing victim, stop projecting problems. We have to learn to be honest and courageous to heal. We have to confront our shadows, integrate them, heal our wounds..... Only just learnt this. Never too late... Watching from Jhb South Africa

One great thing I got out of this episode is that I should wait to have sex until I have a solid connection with a future partner instead of immediately.
....*IF* that's what you want!
Since I have been working on my inner child, I continue to experience signs and synchronicities from the universe that support and guide me. I genuinely believe that my ability to manifest is directly tied to my authenticity. And the closer I get to my authentic self, the more powerful I am.
Oh yes! I'm slowly aligning with my authentic self and it already feels so liberating.
The analogy of cats being able to smell death is true.
What do you mean by this ?
Absolutely true! Africans know this fully well. In the case of cats, sometimes they disappear a couple of day before the death occurs.
Please have Tara back on, she's great! Really fascinating, intelligent and wonderful human!
Then one is shifting in & out of gratitude to those other "wobbles" of guilt etc. Guilt is different vibe that gratitude.
Everything resonated, when this lady comes back to England I want to sit and talk to her! Amazing
