@@Tangeffect worked for me exactly as described in video as well. I made a dummy account and gave my friend my Q2. He just logs in under mine, then switches account to dummy account and he has access to all my apps.

At the moment the only reason I was looking into creating user accounts on my headset was so we could app share Beatsabre and have our own scores. I believe you said Beatsabre doesn't allow that? The demo which I played first allows you to put a name in after completing a level do you have an option to do that in any purchased game or any others for that matter?
To be clear, as I understand, this is only if the primarily user on the first device wants to play against a secondary user on a second device. It does not create a fully functional family share in which each device offers secondary users the full catalog of games owned by the primary user. Family of five sharing two headsets and, it seems like many others, we are feeling the disappointment that we can’t easily share games as we have for many, many years with IOS.

Here come the harder question how do you used the $30 from your second account since you need to used the prime account to buy all the games?
We got a Quest 2 for Christmas, and we liked it so much, we just got a second one. The first is set up with my account as the primary, and I have 3 sub accounts on it for my family. I turned on app sharing on this first headset, and it worked beautifully! Everyone can play all of the games on their own accounts! Now, I want to see if there is a way to set up the second Quest with my account as primary and then have the same 3 sub accounts with app sharing. This would make it so that anyone in our family can play any of the games I purchased on either headset. That's not asking for too much, right?!?
Well, it seems I might be asking for too much. I double checked that app sharing is only enabled on the first headset, but when I added my daughter to the second head set, none of the apps are loading on the second headset. So now my brain is melting trying to figure out how to divide things up. Alllllllll of the games have been purchased on my account so far. So if I'm not the primary account, then that second headset will need to purchase everything again.
I'm able to set up both headsets with my primary account, and the 3 sub accounts, but none of the apps from the first headset are sharing to the second headset. So basically, can I have two Quest 2's with multiple sub accounts on each and share the games across both head sets and all sub accounts? Or do I need to have the first one be only mine with app sharing turned on, and then put everyone else as a sub account on the second one? I think that would get the games on both, but wouldn't be ideal with 3 people having to share one headset.
Anyone have any other ideas?

I have 2 quests. I bought a 64 gb last year and set it up. This year I bought a 256 gb (before cloud storage) because I was tired of uninstalling games. I’m signed into both headsets with the same username etc. I’m assuming my 64 gb is the primary. I get all the games on both headsets except 2 sidequest games. I also lost all my progress in my games on the 256 gb. Is there a way to get the sidequest games onto my 256 gb? Is there a way to get my game progress to transfer to the 256 gb. I tried to turn on app sharing in the 256 gb but it said the 64 gb already had app sharing. Thank you! Great video.
Ok question. The primary account needs to download their games onto the second headset for the secondary account to 'app share' them correct? I fac reset the second headset before I found your video. It's currently downloading all the games from my primary account to it again. I did manage to make a second fb account and followed the steps in your video. At the time I was watching the video, there were no games showing. So I'm hoping this was all I needed to do? And tyvm for your video, I just wish I found it sooner lol.
When I turn on app sharing it won’t show any apps on my other account, I’ve tried to restart it but it won’t work

My brother is offering to be the primary account and I was gonna use my current account as secondary. The thing is that my secondary already has games on the account. My question is how will the games be displayed on my secondary menu screen? will primary and secondary games just be mixed together? Hope that makes sense 😅😅 BTW awsome video and great explanation!👍
Hey! Yes they will be mixed together! The only difference is that your brother won’t be able to play the games you bought. But you will!

Hello, I’ve been trying to game share with my friend but every time we try playing a game I game shared with him it says that the game cannot be played because multiple users are playing the game and that the game needs to be purchased. I tried playing rec room with my friend but it said the same thing so if there is a fix to this it would be greatly appreciate.😁 (btw we followed all the steps on 5th chapter)

I set up another account with the person who wants to use my headset like you explained, and I turned on app sharing, but I still can't access the games on my account via the secondary account; I've turned the toggles off and on, and restarted the headset, but it still isn't working. I believe Beats Saber works with app sharing, I have it on two headsets in my household. We are able to play multiplayer together.

Thank you!! This was helpful. I have a question about referrals. I have a Quest 2. If my sister gets a Quest 2 and uses my referral, she will get a store credit. If my sister’s husband links his Facebook on her Quest device as a secondary account, will he able to use a referral link to get a store credit as well? I understood everything else in the video about sharing apps.
Hmm if I understand it correctly, only your sister will get the referral credit from you, but your sister can then refer her husband. But he should keep in mind that the games he buys on his secondary account can’t be shared with the primary account, aka your sister’s. Since they have a shared household, I would just recommend your sister to use the referral link, get the credit, and buy all the games in her primary account and share them with her husband ( that’s how I do it anyway)
On the important note 3 is the part I need help with because I can’t enable app sharing because it’s enabled on another headset but I just don’t have access to whatever headset that is so could you please help me find a solution for that
hello, I'm using using high end laptop (Acer predator tritron 300 se , i7 processor , 16ram , RTX 3060 , vr ready) to play vr games through vr (oculus quest 2) link cable to play steam games. But still when starting a game screen start stuttering and loading. Any suggestion. Thanks in advance.

What if my device has my friend as the primary user (so I can access their games) and they have me as the primary user on their device (so they can access my games) This mean every time one of us buys a new game we can both play it. Or am I missing something?

You should do a update on this subject with the newest software. I tried to make this work but the apps will not show up in the secondary account library even though if you go to the store and look at the same app in the right side column it will say "This app is already in your library" but its not there.

I just had this problem and found a fix on the internet. Toggle off the share toggle. Delete all sub accounts. Power down the headset. Toggle on the share toggle. The reinstall the sub accounts

When I remove the headset from my head and put it back on, it shows the annoying "Switch user" or "Continue" prompt EVERY TIME. Very annoying. Any way to circumvent this? I wish it would only show it when you turn the headset on initially, or not at all.

About important note 3. I had app sharing on an oculus, but it broke so I can’t turn app sharing off.
After you share you games on the 2nd account on the 2nd unit, can you erase the primary account in that 2nd headset or does it have to stay there.
One issue that we’ve had is that any game add on content won’t transfer. When I buy extra courses on Walkabout my son can’t play them on his account.
This is why I am here. Did you find a fix for this?

Hi guys. What is, if i have 2 Quest goggles. Both has its own account (Q1 A1 / Q2 A2). If i sign in on the Q1 with a secondary account from the Q2 (Q1 A1+A2) and the Q2 has a secondary account from the Q1 (Q2 A2+A1), shouldn´t this works for all games on both goggles? Like a big CROSSplay ;-)? Because the games you bought on the Q1 will be shown up on the Q2 A1 and the same on the Q1. I hope you know what i mean... BUT... if yes, what happens if you wanna do the same with 3 goggles, with 3 different primary accounts?
I have 2 headsets with my primary and the 2nd with my husband as app sharing. But when we play walkabout golf and sport scramble and we both log onto play I get an error message on mine that says can’t play on 2 devices - what can’t we both play? I have the games installed on both on my primary and my husband logs into his name on my 2nd headset. Annoying that it won’t work. It used to work on walkabout but now it does not and I just bought sport scramble and it won’t let us play together.
I talked to quest support and they said that there is an error in the system for game sharing and that they’re trying to fix it. It’s been 3+ weeks since this has been happening

Have you found limitations to chatting from the secondary accounts? My wife and I have two Quests, and while we can connect in a call and invite each-other into games, only the primary account can hear audio from the secondary account - not the other way around. It also never shows the secondary account as online. Is this a known limitation of secondary accounts?
