63 YO grandma here;) Just got a Quest2 and I'm already loving it so much. I've been only looking for exercise and non-gaming Apps and ways to also get VR experiences with things I already do. This was all SO helpful! Thank you. I've used Google Tilt when I was teaching elementary and middle school. A also purchased a museum experience (created by the Tate Museum in London) and it was amazing for my classroom. Walking and interacting with Mondrian's studio was wonderful! My (Apple) school bought me a PC (whole other learning curve I had to muddle through alone) just so I could use VR with my kiddos (Vive at that time). The kids were so engaged when they had their turn using it. I retired at the start of Covid and now so happy I can keep learning and play around again with VR and without the expense of buying a gaming PC. Being untethered is game changer! After watching your video it looks like there is enough here to keep me busy learning and exploring, for awhile. I only wish I had other retired gal pals IRL that I could share my excitement with...so spilling over here. Apologies.
The travel looks so neat... but I didn't know you had to hook to PC for google vr.. that's a disappointment for me, as I only have a lap top, and not a gaming one at that....
Love this comment as well. Some perspective; my grandma owned 40 acres of bottomland (pecan groves) but lived in 2 room house, water was by hand pump and the shitter was out back aways. That was about 60 years ago.
Don't underestimate the social interaction value provided by the multiplayer games. Getting the Walkabout Mini Golf, Golf +, Eleven table tennis, and First Person Tennis games have allowed me to interact regularly with friends ad family around the country that I would otherwise interact with once in a blue moon. It's turned out to be by far the best thing about VR for me.
Thank you so much for the information. I am 73 years old and this is my first Quest 3 VR. OMG! When I went to the store (browsing around) I put these on and immediately started talking out loud that this is amazing. I love the exercising, meditation (new to me) and boxing. Yep. I got the Brink Traveler but having difficulty navigating it hopefully it will start to make sense. I wish I could get more people my age to try this but in the between I am having so much fun. Pssst. I still work and sneaked out today to take a Zumba class. This was such a great experience. Anyway just wanted to say thank you so much. If there are new tips and tricks for the Quest 3 I hope you let us know. In the meantime this is a 73 year old lady enjoying VR.
We use VR to design operating rooms for surgeons. The actual doctors will perform mock surgeries in VR and we use CAD to move things around how they want it so it’s optimized before actual construction begins.
I highly recommend Mondly VR for language learning. Beyond learning some basic words and phrases, you can also practice languages in actual mock conversation situations.
I use Google Earth and UA-cam 360 (there is another one but I forgot the name), and I do 360 city tours or some nature experience. The other day I did a tour with David Attenborough. It was incredible. This is more the direction I like to go in.
Google earth is dope. The 360 videos on the other hand just didn't do it for me. The 360 videos look like 240p quality even though its in like 8k or even higher. Once 360 videos become higher quality vr will without a doubt become even more awesome
The language apps like Mondely are an amazing way to learn or practice another language. You are in an environment interacting with other figures set up in real world situations. Way better than text based apps.
Absolutely agree with your list! In addition, I would add: 1.) *LOST RECIPES* - the best description I can offer is that it is a "relaxing cooking experience." I was shocked at how enjoyable this was, puttering around in ancient kitchens learning ancient cooking techniques. It's really great, I promise! 2.) *PUZZLING PLACES* and/or *CUBISM* - relaxing tactical puzzles games with 3D pieces that float in the air around you. Cubism has the option for passthrough view. 3.) *DANCE CENTRAL* - even just the free sample is fun to dance on a real dance floor and learn some moves. 4.) a *UA-cam VR EXPERIENCE* - like floating over Las Vegas is a crowd pleaser for newbies. I would also suggest *MALOKA* as a great meditation and relaxation app. It gives you your own peaceful "mediation island" that you build out and design the more you mediate. For anyone new to VR, you will be surprised by how much meeting in VR can feel like a more "real" or "natural" way to hang out than having a video call does. I have far-away family and hanging out with them for a round of golf in *WALKABOUT GOLF* or some bowling in *FOREVER BOWL* or watching something in *BIG SCREEN* actually feels like hanging out. It is 1000% better than sitting still in front of a zoom screen. It may not be intuitive if you haven't yet tried VR, but spatially it feels a lot more like we are "together" having a fun shared experience and joking around, than staring at each other awkwardly on screen does. TIP: When we have people over who want to experience VR, we project what's happening in VR to our big screen TV. (Popular when using *GOLF 5 eClub* - to watch everyone's attempts at the driving range) Do a web search for easy instructions. In my case I need to connect to my laptop via the meta web link logon, initiate connection while wearing the headset. I then use the "project" function on my laptop to easily project to our smart TV. (But everyone's tech and connectivity will be different.)

Great ideas! I love the Nature Treks! I bought TRIPP, but I am not very impressed with it. It takes forever for each area to load, and most often I feel like I am having a bad trip, pun intended, I just don’t care for all the things moving and the feeling of floating more or less. I do enjoy Big Screen, and Brink is amazing. I can hang out on a ledge in the Grand Canyon, or lay back and look at the beautiful night sky in Alabama. Polarized eyewear is a minor distraction for most audiences, although it does reduce brightness. Stereo imaging in a theater projection setting is very difficult to "get right" due to the varying geometry required for different seating positions. Sit to far away, and you get "stretch". Too far left or right from center? Not good. Also, the range of interocular distances in the audience must be accommodated to prevent smaller interoculars from becoming excessively "wall-eyed". Even the screen size itself makes a variable to be considered. It ain't easy, and it's amazing it works as well as it does. VR eyewear has distinctive advantages that overcomes all of the above (except the need for special eyewear).
Good point but in VR you would sit in the perfect spot. Everyone can. You wouldn't have to sit in the nose bleed balcony top left seat to watch a film. So unless the purpose of the app is to explore a theater rather than to watch a film, it shouldn't be much of an issue.

I just got mine. Wow! I went to Meta Quest TV and viewed the aerial view of Angel Falls. I could not watch without sitting down. If you don't like heights it will get you. It is so nice.
This is exactly the video i would have shown my parents to get allowance for a vr headset. Then play games all day. possibilities are endless though. Looking forward to immersive sports in the future.
Thanks for making the video. There's still not enough content or applications for this product. Yes it's cool to tour the International Space Station and various cities around the world, but that gets old quickly. For specific purposes, such as a workout routine, and UA-cam 3D immersive content, definitely I enjoy the product, until my neck starts to hurt from the weight of the device. It's a great product for children and young adults; impossible to find a virtual group conversation on adult topics without children flying around the room. Very difficult to use the web browser as you've got to use the pointer to type on the virtual keyboard; very frustrating experience. Thanks again for spending the time to make the video.
Thanks. I'm a lot older than most who may want this thing, so all that you said made it seem worth buying. That said. Has anyone ever told you you look like Adam Ant? That's not a bad thing. Thanks again.
I'm utterly clueless about VR but I'm intrigued by the idea of a virtual cinema. How does it work? Can you invite your friends to a private viewing of a film or is it more like real life, where you share a theatre with the general public? Can you talk to people in the theatre, or hear other people? How large does the screen look, and is there a "large space" effect to the sound, such as you would experience in a real cinema? And of course: how do you pay for a viewing?
So I literally downloaded it last night on my quest 2 for free. You start in your own private home Theater where u have a menu u can choose different films or tv shows. There’s also public viewing party’s that takes u to a public cinema where u can watch movies with other viewers and talk etc. as far as sound and stuff goes it’s usually pretty good but I’d definitely recommend headphones if your gonna sit down and actually watch a long movie. The paywall comes in with the 3D movies u are able to rent, it’s 5$ for each movie and there a list of like 15 movies (some decent movies honestly) and u can watch the 3D trailer to experience the effect and see if u like it. But from my experience it’s pretty legit. Oh and I almost forgot they prompt u to make a account when u start in order to invite friends to your theater etc…. Hope this helps.
@@ubieboobie5906 Thanks. Yes, that gives me a pretty good idea of what it's about. Not sure that this application alone is enough to make me want a VR system though - I'm old(ish) and don't play games or anything like that.
@@scollyer.tuition let me give you a different description from Ubies. (I've used these and other apps quite a bit, and I'm not much of a gamer either.) So: on big screen, you can join someone's movie room or you can create your own. If you create your own you can set it public (and set a max number of people) or private, and invite specific friends if you wish or watch by yourself. There are a few environments (classic movie theater room, modern theater room, camp site, home room, and a few others). There are movies for rental, but you can really play any movie you have on your computer for free even if you have a 3D movie on your pc (that will require a pc, even if the pc is not connected to your headset). Worth noting: this is a spcial app. You have apps that are just for watching videos in a virtual screen without ability to invite people to join you. Those usually have slightly better controls, and can be an excellent choice to play videos directly from your headset's storage, and they can make it easy to watch videos laying down on your bed. (Excellent experience IMHO) Although you are not a gamer I'd say: try a couple games. The novelty factor makes it worth the trouble. And finally: vrchat. It's a social vr app, where users can build places and avatars (requires somewhat advanced knowledge of game design tools). In this platform there are movie theaters (with a vast collection of movies, even 3D ones), and there's also music, dance, karaoke, parties, community events (you'll need to be on discord servers to find out the time and place), and there's also simple games (even clones of beatsaber). There is also p0rn (videos, social, games). I worried I would be throwing money away when I bought the quest, but it's been awesome. If I were you I would wait for the quest 3 and buy it. It's totally worth it even if you don't game.
@@scollyer.tuition There are types of games that you might like. I'm 66.. I enjoy Beat Saber,.. fishing.. there's a very good Golf app and there are immersive experiences... you can tour Rome or other places.. there are mystery games, etc... you can interact with other players in some of them if you want or you can just do it alone. It's actually pretty cool.
Maybe a dumb question but what vr set are the best? I just watched the video and would like to buy a pair of VR glasses 🙂 Which VR glasses are he using in the video?
You spoke about the great fitness apps you can use instead of playing games but many of the games are pretty good at keeping you fit as well. Beat Sabre is one of the most popular games but it is also great for keeping you trim and supple even if it is not building muscles. Alternatively just try the game that the kids all love, Gorilla Tag. Because you move around fast using just your arms it gives you a great workout. One warning though, make sure you have plenty of space around you and ideally find a small rug to stand on so you do not move too far as that game is responsible for more broken TVs, hands and Quest controllers than any other game!

p-ORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my favourite thing is watching movies like Cloverfield in VR, first person camera view is great
Thrill of the fight is my work out…wow what a workout
An excellent video. A different kind of list then just the top 10 games. Really liked it.
These are great! I love watching 360 documentaries on mine it makes them so much more intriguing.
Just watched the 3D version of World War Z. Amazing experience
Dude, thank you so much for this video.
Thank you for this.ive never been a gamer but I see so much on TV about vr headsets I just bought the quest 3 for myself.cant wait to try all these things ❤️
Poker VR is really fun for sure ;)
Thanks for the list Sam
Noticed your t-shirt logo, fellow Hueligan!
You did forget (while you were mentioning the browser) about the WebApps it offers as well, I remember using some of them to see Chinese museums and stuff like that, very nice stuff.
Like what can you give me some examples of web apps and how to get them
@@morganbellew157 when you open the web browser it should have apps on its home screen that you can play with. Some of them are web games or just museum walkthroughs and such.
I am still trying to maneuver in Wander, so I am not giving an opinion on this app. Great video!
Thanks for this wonderful video. You’re awesome.
Thank you! I appreciate the suggestions. I'm new at this, and need all the help I can get lol.. Take care ❤
Awesome, your in for a lot of fun.
@@RushReality I'm excited, thanks again!
I can tell just from your comment that you are a good person/empath. I hope you have a good life.
@@monkeymonkerson your comment couldn't of been said at a better time. Thank you. My husband just got done berating me, unjustly I might add, so I was just feeling sad. TMI sorry. Just thought you'd like to know the impact of your kind words. Take care ❤
@@monkeymonkerson p.s. pretty dog, I have 2 pit bulls myself. 🥰
That Graffiti app looks insane
To Turbguy: Could not a regular computer monitor work the similar way if one pulled up his chair and neck while having his nose touching the screen?
Good point but in VR you would sit in the perfect spot. Everyone can. You wouldn't have to sit in the nose bleed balcony top left seat to watch a film. So unless the purpose of the app is to explore a theater rather than to watch a film, it shouldn't be much of an issue.
Great vid! Thnx for all these suggestions. I love vr pottery. Its really satisfying and relaxing somehow🤣

@@interdimensionalsteve8172 that's what I'm saying
3D movies, overrated
Virtual painting, yawn
Travel around the world, too limited
Attending events, booooooooring
Get in shape, annoying and uncomfortable with VR (sweating on hardware) better do it without VR
Graffiti, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING
Hold meetings, Annoying with vr
Watch TV, uncomfortable, just do it without VR
Socialize, meh....
Meditate, uncomfortable
Learn , what a gimmick, just learn without VR headset on ya face
Study sculpture, Meh...... go to a real arts class to do that
Poker, more fun face to face
Compete in a sport, again same as mentioned before as "get in shape" it's uncomfortable

Don't be shy!😊
Im gonna get most of these for my new headset im picking up in may. Im excited already.
Oh common! How could you miss music making?? Virtuoso, Tribe XR... hahaha great info but just adding my VERY important 2 cents.
Great shout, I’m going to put together a part 2, I’ll give that a feature
Great, this video convinced me to buy a VR headset
GOOD VID BUD!
Fishing is a great one !
I just recently got a quest 2 and airlink/steam together is AWESOME! Been playing HLA and OMG its just pure AMAZING! :D
Great vid. You answered a lot of questions I had about buying one. Thank you.
Very excellent information; thank you. It would be great if you provided links or some guidance as to where people can find the apps or websites you're referring to. Thanks again.
This is so beautiful to watch. Just that I don't have a quest 2 😔
I have one for 500 tbh it was worth so save up
I just got mine. Wow! I went to Meta Quest TV and viewed the aerial view of Angel Falls. I could not watch without sitting down. If you don't like heights it will get you. It is so nice.
Great video!
Bigscreen is the best! I often host rooms and meet lots of new people.
This is exactly the video i would have shown my parents to get allowance for a vr headset. Then play games all day.
possibilities are endless though. Looking forward to immersive sports in the future.
That was a great informative video, i thank you for all the information in this video. 5/5
Just bought the meta quest 2 your video helped me out alot especially on which apps I should get
Yes! It's an amazing device.🙋🏼♀️
VR, can do it all!
Mission ISS is so much fun! But man it made me sick as a dog! Haha
Me too, others as well apparently…
Awesome! I found you! Subbed! Thank you for your content!
luv the info thankyou
Quest 2 should give you a big check. This video is awesome. I am buying bc of this video alone! Thank you
Amazing, entire aim of this channel is to bring more people into VR and grow something I think is fantastic. Thanks for watching.
I’ve got one (falls under education I suppose): practicing public speaking. Virtual Speech has been popular with my students.
Awesome, great point thanks!
Awesome video thanks for the info.
Nice Vid.
Subscribed! Great video!
Awesome! Thanks Pal
Good list. Thanks
A very big THANKS, you help me to know incredible good art application and more. It's a perfect video. Kisses !
I would love to see one for Woodworking.
Underrated video
One thing that has yet to emerge is 180 3D VR immersive movies. Such as Star Tours, Avatar Flight of Passage, or a TRex chasing you.
Great video! Thx!
Thank you so much 😊
Playing in a band would be awesome
That was such great video! Just need “sidequest”
Nice!!
Thanks. I'm a lot older than most who may want this thing, so all that you said made it seem worth buying. That said. Has anyone ever told you you look like Adam Ant? That's not a bad thing. Thanks again.
Haha amazing, I’ve never been told that before
I'm utterly clueless about VR but I'm intrigued by the idea of a virtual cinema.
(I've used these and other apps quite a bit, and I'm not much of a gamer either.)
So: on big screen, you can join someone's movie room or you can create your own.
(Excellent experience IMHO)
Although you are not a gamer I'd say: try a couple games.
You can also get a 360 camera and enjoy reliving experiences life size, as if you’re actually there.
Wot?
Awesome info... thank you
Thanks for watching!
Im sold
Maybe a dumb question but what vr set are the best? I just watched the video and would like to buy a pair of VR glasses 🙂
Which VR glasses are he using in the video?
I’d like to see an app that emulates snow skiing. 🥰🥰
ua-cam.com/video/Gr22HF0gPaA/v-deo.html
Here’s a video I did on exactly that.
Sounds awesome but i wonder how that would work as use mainly use your legs to control skiis
I really enjoyed this video
You spoke about the great fitness apps you can use instead of playing games but many of the games are pretty good at keeping you fit as well. Beat Sabre is one of the most popular games but it is also great for keeping you trim and supple even if it is not building muscles. Alternatively just try the game that the kids all love, Gorilla Tag. Because you move around fast using just your arms it gives you a great workout. One warning though, make sure you have plenty of space around you and ideally find a small rug to stand on so you do not move too far as that game is responsible for more broken TVs, hands and Quest controllers than any other game!
Add to this language learning. Lessons come alive in your living room with Mondly VR.
My wife just bought me a quest 2 so now I’m wanting to really utilize it thanks
So now she will be free to play with her neighbour while you're busy with the Quest, clever...😂
@@fabianresburgo5944 I didn’t need a quest 2 for that 🤣 but win win!
