i love the use of ways you personally relate itachi’s story to add to your summary, i think with a small effort towards a script and use of the shows scenes you could have an extremely effective and personal commentary video on the story of whatever narrative you decide to cover.
Itachi should have stayed as a villain, then the story would of made more sense. With Sasuke winning only becuase Itachi was sick. Then Sasuke could of avenged his clan.
There was NO right decision. That's the whole point. It was a terrible situation that was going to have a terrible outcome regardless. Itachi chose the option that had least amount of casualties. He was just another flawed human being, doing his best to do what he believed was right

I don’t know why this video came across my feed but Itachi is a terrible brother and a terribly stupid character. Most of it is bad writing but Itachi being good is a retcon. His actions in part 1 make no sense in conjunction with what he wants for Sasuke. Giving your brother long lasting trauma then being surprised when he becomes a criminal makes him look incredibly short sighted. Which is what his character arc became. If it wasn’t for Tsunade and Jiraya Kakashi and Sasuke probably would’ve been vegetables and Naruto probably would’ve ended up dismembered and possibly dead. He does nothing to stop the Akatsuki even though he’s supposedly a double agent.

I would argue though, what could he have done about it in his position? And also he did tell Sasuke that he failed him after beating Kabuto, so at least he acknowledges his mistakes.
i agree naruto has some weak writing but i also believe you’re ignoring the context behind itachis actions, his clan was on the brink of starting a civil war within the leaf village it was either allow the uchiha clan to bring about its own destruction which also would have left sasuke scarred or prevent the loss of innocent life by massacring the clan.

Itachi literally brought tobito, a konoha nin gone rogue, into konoha territory to help off the uchiha clan instead of warning both konoha and uchiha leaders about him. This allowed him to get access to the sharingan and itavhi never offed him incase he tried to destroy konoha later as he had no reason to keep his end of the bargain. Also, in chapter 590 of the manga, 3rd told everyone in that room not to be rash but Danzo and Itachi went behind 3rd's back to off the uchiha. This should be insubordination. Heck, Danzo ripped out Shishui's eye and he committed suicide but Itachi was silent on this and never told 3rd of Danzo's actions. Also, even of there was a civial war, the uchiha would lose. Konoha has beaten Oro's combined sand and sound, Tobito's 9 tails and Pain's attack. Heck, 2 people wiped out the entire uchiha clan. Also, offing the Uchiha made konoha weaker.

His older brother, a beloved member of the village, killed by his own hands. Did Sasuke want to live alone? His parents gone, his aunt and uncle gone, any Uchiha friends he had gone, and now his brother that gave everything for him now has to be killed by him. How is that good for Sasuke. Congratulations Sasuke you are now a loner hero with praise from the village of strangers you don't know because you dedicated your life on revenge instead of love. Is that good for Sasuke? Itachi was the only person with power, a child stuck between waring adults, and he made a hard but respectable decision. Yet that genius of his all seems like a lapse in judgement when we look back in hindsight at the monster Sasuke became. At 5 Sasuke came home to his family and friends murdered. His brother stood in there blood and pretended to find joy in it. Then used his eyes to show Sasuke exactly how brutally his parents were murdered. At 5 years old giving Sasuke endless nightmares. Instilling in Sasuke that he should hate with all his heart so he can be stronger than Itachi. That is DISGUSTING. Even years later letting his brother be in his shadow. He then breaks Sasuke's arm, chokes him against a wall, and again uses his eyes to show Sasuke how his parents and clan were killed by him. How is Sasuke supposed to be the hero that killed the insane Itachi if Sasuke is also an insane criminal? Itachi is alive, can stop him, tell him the truth, or just let Sasuke kill him already. The Uchiha brothers fight, Itachi removes Orochimaru's influence, holds back a lot, stops taking his medicine so that his sickness weakens him, and still Sasuke can't kill him. The illness kills Itachi after he blocks Kiran so Sasuke didn't complete his goal and isn't tough enough to defend himself like Itachi was. And the fucked up shit is Itachi actually knows how bad this made Sasuke. 1 he predicted that hearing the truth about the Uchiha massacre would drive Sasuke crazy. And 2 Sasuke might decide to destroy the leaf himself. THUS MAKING THE WHOLE REASON HE KILLED HIS FAMILY AND TRAUMATIZED HIS BROTHER POINTLESS!! Itachi killed his clan because he loves his clan and wants to protect it from destroying itself. But he was trying to make Sasuke stronger than him. Soo if Sasuke ever found out the truth about what his brother became a criminal and killed his parents a threat stronger than Itachi would be in leaf headquarters to kill every leader involved. What was Itachi thinking??? Like the crow with Shisui's eye is coded to activate if Sasuke wants to destroy the leaf. He was an awesome brother, but the best brother in fiction and real life? Why not take Sasuke with you and personality train him. He understands his powers a great so he hunts for a wife who's power and family is also great. He makes great money and is great at his job. His family should be proud of him. But most of the kids endeavor have were only born for his goal, and they know that. The greatest fire and the greatest ice will surpass him to become the number one hero. Never asking what the children wanted just forcing them into intense training to toughen them up. Give them his same drive for power and glory. They're rich kids and have well off lives regardless but everything Endeavor does with his kids is for his selfish goal. His kids are well off, they can defend themselves, their in the best schools, and yet they all have deeply ingrained mental health issues. To the point where their own mother gets PTSD from not being able to help her suffering kids and seeing her husband's face in them. I will never say Endeavor is the greatest father of all time. Itachi is worse than Endeavor! Sasuke was an orphan, alone, didn't have a proper teacher to train him until he graduated, definitely wasn't rich, and was repeatedly traumatized. I mean hell Endeavor was always around even if he was violent. Itachi left and let Sasuke think love was unnecessary! No. No way in hell Itachi is a better older brother than me. No way in hell is Itachi the best brother of all time, or even the best brother in anime. Ace from one piece, the alrick siblings from full metal alchemist, Yuna and asta from black clover. Itachi may have done a lot for sasuke, but naruto gave sasuke a true friend, someone willing to search for him, and a memorable kiss.
