Awesome guide, man. The devs made some really weird decisions with regards to this games' graphics settings. You'd think with how light the game is on the GPU side they would have added these options in the game itself, especially things that really make a difference, like ambient occlusion, and things that can turn people off, like chromatic aberration. Dang. Sh** runs so smooth I might have overcompensated a bit for my specs. Going to have to play around with my settings. Funny enough it looks like a slighty better version of Tekken 7. It's only with in game menus were the fps ever drops. Particularly character select. It might be something with preloading. As long as it doesn't effect my matches I'm fine. I was about to drop the game because I didn't really want to upgrade.
This is an insanely informative guide, I wish games made it more clear what their graphics settings changed and the performance cost of the different options.

Awesome guide, I already limited the game in rivatuner and set my monitor refresh rate to 60hz but the game kept using too much gpu. Limiting the game from nv control panel worked, now the game runs well while gpu frequency sits at 780mhz and low temperature.
I agree because imo Tekken 8 is not a very good fighting game but the competition (SF6 and MK1) is so super garbage that it get the best FG of the year.
Hey, thanks for the instructions. The bloom effect in the character select screen really bothered me. So I just played with the "BloomQuality" line. 5 seems to be the default. If you set it to 0, the bloom effect is completely gone and the characters in the select screen look very good. In the matches, however, the lighting effects no longer look so good at 0. I took screenshots and compared all the settings. BloomQuality 2 is the sweet spot for me. Btw. I tested the new "TUP - Ultra Plus Mod" on the Nexus website. When I use your settings the game looks better than with this mod (+ the TUP mod takes more performance). Good job! I'm surprised that there aren't any tips for the Nvidia Control Panel yet to perhaps get a little more out of the game. So far there is nothing about it to be found on the internet.
Thanks. Glad you liked my settings better. The thing is, I have been doing these things since years on UE4 games, so I know what looks better to the eyes. The TUP mod added SSGI which is super heavy on the system. SSGI alone takes about 3 times the GPU power of the 5 Shadow lines in my settings. On top of that there are some other overblown stuff in there as well. The reason I created my guide was to support every kind of system and that is why I chose settings that looks good but are not very demanding.

Game already runs pretty well, though the problem I've seen from playing Tekken 8 Demo to the release is there's a memory leak for the release and it's ruining fun for me. It's always like that after playing around 15 to 30 mins, restarting the game temporarily fixes the problem. Funny because I have a friend that uses a 4070 ti and he gets 30 fps after playing some time, I have a 6700 XT. Hopefully they fix this quickly.
No offense but this seems like a rig or pc management problem as for me with just a 3060 Ti can play for unlimited times without any drops. I just played like 5 hours straight yesterday.
@@DanteKOGTekken Not a rig problem, and nowhere near that. Not everyone will have the same experience as the others. We just happened one of the many users to actually experience it (and we also benchmark games a lot we know if it's a memory leak or not). It was fixed on patch v1.01.04 shortly after a couple of days experiencing it. It seems to play well now. However I've had many reports of some users still having the issue. Great video though!

No. DLAA is only applied on Tekken 8 but the registry edit that the tool automatically does for you when you click YES on that message is global, so before playing other games, use the disable signature override file I mentioned to reset your Nvidia registry edit.
Thanks. You need an RTX series graphics card for that option to show. If you have one, then you also need to have your graphic drivers and windows updated.
Great guide but i would like to say that at 13:06 you shouldn't use TAAU but TSR with scaling at 100 since TSR is much better than TAAU and is the more modern version of TAAU.
@@DanteKOGTekken TSR Is sharper than DLSS because you can choose the rendering scale which for DLSS Quality is fixed at 67% while for TSR is whatever you choose. With both at same rendering scale DLSS looks better.
Thanks. I will try. You can use the unreal engine part of the guide for other UE4/UE5 games as well. All you have to do is locate where that game stores the engine.ini file in your PC.
In storry mode there is some horrible stuttering on movies when game is loading files and FPS goes to 30. Once loading is done, and you can actually skip movie FPS goes back to 60.
@@DanteKOGTekken I'm using nvme SSD and high end PC. I watched some story playthrougs on UA-cam with FPS counter, and it was exactly the same. It's not in every cutscene, but it's annoying. For example chapter 5 when Paul is entering the arena, at the beginning of the cutscene stutters, but Kuma entrance is ok.
@@DanteKOGTekken Should be possible to fix stuttering during that loading. On PS4 so many games load files to a very slow 5400rpm HDD during cutscenes without any issues.
It's weird, no matter the settings, all these steps, absolute lowest or absolute highest settings I still get random fps drops from 59fps to somtimes 57 or more. I wouldn't think it to be a hardware issue as it gets random drops no matter the settings but im stumped what the issue is. Just the port Itself maybe? RX 6600 XT I7-6700k (OC'd to 4.5Ghz) (I tried not OC'd as well, still random drops. 32 gigs 3200mz DDR 5 Ram Windows 10 Installed on an SSD.
Yes you are right. It is the port issue related to AMD GPUs. I have received tons of reports of random frame drops no matter what their settings are and all of them have AMD GPUs. I am really sorry I cannot help you here🙁

film grain and vignette not anymore in full release. motion blur and HDR has a toggle in game now in full release and disabling bloom glitches a lot of particles in game. That is why these 5 lines were removed.
Tips for settings if the only thing that causes lag spikes is the destruction from wall breaks? The wood chipping to pieces on the stage Secluded Training Ground makes my frames drop😵

@@Pun1sherTV All of these lines you used are for either disabling an effect or lowering its setting, so you should be gaining some fps rather than having problems.🤨
Always play at a tiny bit lower setting than at how much your GPU can play at full power. For example my card 3060 Ti can give me good results in 4K DLSS balanced, but I always play at 4K DLSS performance, which gives me that extra headroom for all the instances where my game could drop frames.

Question: I tried following your guide and it seems like now the blue spark effect on just frame attacks are gone completely from my game.. do you know which setting could have caused that? Also, my game seems to load considerably a lot more slowly at the start, black screens for quite a while until the splash screens show, then it's smooth once I reach the main menu.. any ideas? Lastly, is running the game on borderless that much different from running it full screen performance and smoothness wise? Thanks again!
for the sparks gone, that is because you must have added the 4 particles lines, which I already stated that reduces a lot of effects in game. The slow start is an odd one. That is just the game boot process. It should not have anything to do with anything in the guide. Make sure you are not using any background apps or a lot of apps connected/injected to the game like Reshade. Crashes only happens to me whenever I use the camera mod to do the 3D Model videos. The game seems to be a little sensitive to outside stuff. Also make sure your are not running that Tekken Overlay app along with the game. For the last option, I would recommend full screen. Full screen option in all games seems to be the go to option for gamers and in some rare games, full screen also gives better performance.

I think you might be using a laptop. There is a setting in control panel to force the game to use your GPU but I forgot that as I used laptops ages ago. Try search in Google. Sorry for no help.
@@aquavina4142 For RTX DLSS. For GTX and AMD use TSR or TAAU depending on which gives you better results. The results you have to find for yourselves, as that depends on hardware.
thanks for the vid, very helpful! I'm running a GTX1080 + i7-6700K. I settled on 1920x1080 @ 60 scale with TAAU (everything low besides textures). I've noticed I drop more frames if I go too low on the resolution scale. do you think I should try raising it above 60% at these specs? my main goal is optimizing for performance, I want that buttery smooth framerate 😁
Your CPU and GPU are more than capable of playing this game. If you have at least 16GB RAM then you dont need to sacrifice any setting. You can easily play the game on ULTRA or at least HIGH setting with 100% rendering scale. You can search "GTX 1080 Tekken 8" on UA-cam. There are a lot of videos and all of them play at constant 60fps on ULTRA with GPU utilization ranging from 75% to 85%, so you still have GPU headroom after that. All that on 1080p of course.

Yeah agreed. On top of that one setting in game, most of time is a package of settings like post process and background....but then it is like this in every UE game, so I dont blame the devs here
Use DLSS if you're Nvidia user. Uh... I know it's an oversight, but nvidia users might not be able to use dlss at all, because let's say... They have GTX!
Well first of all I already stated that in case of not being able to activate DLSS, you can use TAA or TSR. On the other hand, I always reply to comments of people that need help in any situation till they are satisfied...and that includes you as well 👍🙂
Dante thanks for the guide the game looks way better i have a 3090 founder edition nvidia Amd ryzen 5900x 32gb ram but i dont have constant 60 fps and the game feels slower any tip i did everything as u did but i did not put the 5 lines for shadows on the engine file

For now I dont know. Maybe changing the FOV will do it. I have to experiment on that. Anyway the camera distance is the same as Tekken 7, so I personally think it is OK.

Thanks for the guide! The particle effects to low really helped my performance! However, whenever there's RA in the Ortiz Farm Stage (underground level) my frames just drop to 30. This must be a game issue in this stage? I have a 3060 running at 1440p..
I don't think this is a Vsync issue as I always have it ON on a 3060 Ti....and I really like practicing in that stage. Never had any issue like this with Rage Arts.
Playing with a 4080 Ti Super! Works fine! For everyone playing in Native 4k and has minimal frame rate problems during the matches: Lower Antialiasing in settings from Ultra to High. Since that I've stable 60Fps and don't see a difference compared to Ultra Antialiasing.
ive followed this guide ever since the release and now im dropping down to like 40fps even on the lowest settings... i have a rtx 4060 i7 i feel like i shouldnt be having this issue have to usually reset game or pc to get it back to normal but now i took off my dual monitor and it’s on dlss balanced with everything on high and during cutscenes it’ll go down to like 55 but then it gradually will get worse.
If it is a gradual degradation of performance, that can be caused by a few factors. Mostly it is VRAM or RAM leak issue. Kindly check that your GPU if it is functioning properly and update drivers as well. After that check your system RAM for faults as well, using any app that your prefer. In the end I would also recommend you to use Windows 10 and not Windows 11 as countless people have complained about performance issues on Win11.
I have a Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop with an RTX 3070, AMD Ryzen 7 5800h, 16GB RAM and 3 1tb samsung NVME SSDs. Should I be running the game fine with these specs? I play with every single setting on tekken 8 on the lowest and use DLSS ultra performance and somehow still have slow motion gameplay with crazy low frame drops (i'm talking drops from 60 to 35 on the regular on every map). I have been trying to fix the issue for weeks, it puts me off even playing the game because I have never experienced a non slow motion game even though I spent 1.5k for this laptop only 3 years ago, I ended up prioritising my GPU, overclocking my GPU, closing all other applications while playing, lowering all settings, updating all drivers and still have the same issue, now it has gotten even worse as other games I used to play at 200-300 fps all run at around 30. help pls lol.
If you are experiencing issues with other games as well that means the problem is with your laptop. I would recommend undoing every change you have done in the past like overclocking etc and then try. Would be best if you just start fresh with a new windows and drivers installed.
Use the chromatic aberration removal method I showed in unreal engine section of the video. After that just use Nvidia control panel or Reshade to sharpen the image.
Additionally: I only have a 1080p screen but in the Nvidia Settings you can add custom resolutions. So I've tried 2k and 4k resolution. The resolutions are now also available to choose within the game. So I guess this is Downscaling, which should improve the quality even more.

Hi man, i really appreciate that u did this video for us, but I have a little problem here and i need ur help Specs: nvidia geforce rtx4060 gpu 12gen intel core i7 12650H 16gb ram My laptop run this game on 59FPS , but with very weird drops and lags, especially in the character menu screen. It can drop there to 30 or even to 15FPS, and after i go online with 59 again but with probability of dropping to 55-56. I noticed that sometimes it runs better then other times Even though i did everything u suggest in this video i don't see too much of a difference. If I tweak all the graphics to low it will drop the same as if i stick with ultra. is there a way to get out of this and have a smooth experience? Thank u.
The character select is just built in a way that howering over a character makes the game load the entire model, so fps drops over there is expected. The only suggestion for that I can give is to run the game from an SSD to reduce the loading times. As for online, that is also a Namco optimization problem. Also once again it depends on your internet and storage speeds as well. Many people are experiencing this issue. You are not alone, but there is nothing you can do about it for now.
Your card is the issue. It is a quadro series card for which I am sure Bamco did no optimization for as it is a production card and not a mainstream gaming card. On top of that its raw power is equal to only a GTX 1050 Ti which cannot even play this game at steady 60 fps at lowest settings possible. Even with upscaling enabled the GTX 1050 Ti struggles to play the game. Your only option is to upgrade your GPU buddy.
@@frazszs If you use everything on low then you should only add the chromatic aberration, DOF removal lines or particle reducing lines in UE5 engine file (if you want those removed). Adding anything else will override the low settings you have set in graphics settings and will give you less framerate than before. Try only adding these 3 things I mentioned in engine file and update me again.
i think you should ony apply unreal engine settings and optimization setting dont apply any lut and coulour grading to the same because its mess with game art style for the worst

1440p on a 2070 for this game is a hit or miss. Ultra is good but you might need to use DLSS Quality if you are getting like 55 fps or dropping lower than 60 in some stages or animations.
Watch Digital Foundry's Tekken 8 video and use the recommended settings for Steam Deck and tweak them from there. You should be able to at least increase the resolution as the 1650 is considerably more powerful than the Steam Deck.
Sorry to say that your CPU and CPU are very old. Also recommended RAM is 16GB and you have only 8GB of RAM. You have to stick with lowest settings possible.🙁

Game already runs pretty well, though the problem I've seen from playing Tekken 8 Demo to the release is there's a memory leak for the release and it's ruining fun for me. It's always like that after playing around 15 to 30 mins, restarting the game temporarily fixes the problem. Funny because I have a friend that uses a 4070 ti and he gets 30 fps after playing some time, I have a 6700 XT. Hopefully they fix this quickly.
No offense but this seems like a rig or pc management problem as for me with just a 3060 Ti can play for unlimited times without any drops. I just played like 5 hours straight yesterday.
@@DanteKOGTekken Not a rig problem, and nowhere near that. Not everyone will have the same experience as the others. We just happened one of the many users to actually experience it (and we also benchmark games a lot we know if it's a memory leak or not).
It was fixed on patch v1.01.04 shortly after a couple of days experiencing it. It seems to play well now. However I've had many reports of some users still having the issue.

No. DLAA is only applied on Tekken 8 but the registry edit that the tool automatically does for you when you click YES on that message is global, so before playing other games, use the disable signature override file I mentioned to reset your Nvidia registry edit.

Yeah your are probably right. Though with sharpness given by Reshade, I never had any trouble with TAAU as well.

Thanks. I will try. You can use the unreal engine part of the guide for other UE4/UE5 games as well. All you have to do is locate where that game stores the engine.ini file in your PC.
In storry mode there is some horrible stuttering on movies when game is loading files and FPS goes to 30. Once loading is done, and you can actually skip movie FPS goes back to 60.

@@DanteKOGTekken I'm using nvme SSD and high end PC. I watched some story playthrougs on UA-cam with FPS counter, and it was exactly the same. It's not in every cutscene, but it's annoying.
For example chapter 5 when Paul is entering the arena, at the beginning of the cutscene stutters, but Kuma entrance is ok.

@@DanteKOGTekken Should be possible to fix stuttering during that loading. On PS4 so many games load files to a very slow 5400rpm HDD during cutscenes without any issues.

It's weird, no matter the settings, all these steps, absolute lowest or absolute highest settings I still get random fps drops from 59fps to somtimes 57 or more. I wouldn't think it to be a hardware issue as it gets random drops no matter the settings but im stumped what the issue is. Just the port Itself maybe?

Yes you are right. It is the port issue related to AMD GPUs. I have received tons of reports of random frame drops no matter what their settings are and all of them have AMD GPUs. I am really sorry I cannot help you here🙁

Hidden folders in windows by default. Open MY PC > VIEW tab > check HIDDEN ITEMS. This was for windows 10 btw , so if you have Win11, just google it.

film grain and vignette not anymore in full release. motion blur and HDR has a toggle in game now in full release and disabling bloom glitches a lot of particles in game. That is why these 5 lines were removed.

Tips for settings if the only thing that causes lag spikes is the destruction from wall breaks? The wood chipping to pieces on the stage Secluded Training Ground makes my frames drop😵

What is the best way to improve the smoothness of Tekken 8? Is this due to my graphics settings being too high? I have an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU
Always play at a tiny bit lower setting than at how much your GPU can play at full power. For example my card 3060 Ti can give me good results in 4K DLSS balanced, but I always play at 4K DLSS performance, which gives me that extra headroom for all the instances where my game could drop frames.

Question: I tried following your guide and it seems like now the blue spark effect on just frame attacks are gone completely from my game.. do you know which setting could have caused that?
Also, my game seems to load considerably a lot more slowly at the start, black screens for quite a while until the splash screens show, then it's smooth once I reach the main menu.. any ideas?
Lastly, is running the game on borderless that much different from running it full screen performance and smoothness wise?

for the sparks gone, that is because you must have added the 4 particles lines, which I already stated that reduces a lot of effects in game.
The slow start is an odd one. That is just the game boot process. It should not have anything to do with anything in the guide. Make sure you are not using any background apps or a lot of apps connected/injected to the game like Reshade. Crashes only happens to me whenever I use the camera mod to do the 3D Model videos. The game seems to be a little sensitive to outside stuff. Also make sure your are not running that Tekken Overlay app along with the game.
For the last option, I would recommend full screen. Full screen option in all games seems to be the go to option for gamers and in some rare games, full screen also gives better performance.

I think you might be using a laptop. There is a setting in control panel to force the game to use your GPU but I forgot that as I used laptops ages ago. Try search in Google. Sorry for no help.

I've noticed I drop more frames if I go too low on the resolution scale. do you think I should try raising it above 60% at these specs? my main goal is optimizing for performance, I want that buttery smooth framerate 😁
Your CPU and GPU are more than capable of playing this game. If you have at least 16GB RAM then you dont need to sacrifice any setting. You can easily play the game on ULTRA or at least HIGH setting with 100% rendering scale. You can search "GTX 1080 Tekken 8" on UA-cam. There are a lot of videos and all of them play at constant 60fps on ULTRA with GPU utilization ranging from 75% to 85%, so you still have GPU headroom after that. All that on 1080p of course.

Its OK. Happened to me once xD. What I did was just kept the preset file, deleted all other reshade files and reinstalled Reshade.😆

Well first of all I already stated that in case of not being able to activate DLSS, you can use TAA or TSR. On the other hand, I always reply to comments of people that need help in any situation till they are satisfied...and that includes you as well 👍🙂
No matter what settings I choose, my game runs at 58 frames and dips down to 54 frames after sometime. 😢😢
Try using Riva Tuner to limit to 60 like I showed in video and try again

Dont use Nvidia latest drivers. They are causing issues for people and they getting half GPU utilization because of that.

For now I dont know. Maybe changing the FOV will do it. I have to experiment on that. Anyway the camera distance is the same as Tekken 7, so I personally think it is OK.

Do you have vsync on? I always turn vsync off as it introduces input lag and it's redundant if you're using a frame rate limiter.
I don't think this is a Vsync issue as I always have it ON on a 3060 Ti....and I really like practicing in that stage. Never had any issue like this with Rage Arts.

Playing with a 4080 Ti Super! Works fine! For everyone playing in Native 4k and has minimal frame rate problems during the matches: Lower Antialiasing in settings from Ultra to High. Since that I've stable 60Fps and don't see a difference compared to Ultra Antialiasing.
agreed there is no difference between ULTRA and HIGH anti aliasing and Shadows, specially on high resolutions....just like I said in the video.🙂

ive followed this guide ever since the release and now im dropping down to like 40fps even on the lowest settings... i have a rtx 4060 i7 i feel like i shouldnt be having this issue
have to usually reset game or pc to get it back to normal but now i took off my dual monitor and it’s on dlss balanced with everything on high and during cutscenes it’ll go down to like 55 but then it gradually will get worse.
If it is a gradual degradation of performance, that can be caused by a few factors. Mostly it is VRAM or RAM leak issue. Kindly check that your GPU if it is functioning properly and update drivers as well. After that check your system RAM for faults as well, using any app that your prefer. In the end I would also recommend you to use Windows 10 and not Windows 11 as countless people have complained about performance issues on Win11.

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop with an RTX 3070, AMD Ryzen 7 5800h, 16GB RAM and 3 1tb samsung NVME SSDs. Should I be running the game fine with these specs? I play with every single setting on tekken 8 on the lowest and use DLSS ultra performance and somehow still have slow motion gameplay with crazy low frame drops (i'm talking drops from 60 to 35 on the regular on every map). I have been trying to fix the issue for weeks, it puts me off even playing the game because I have never experienced a non slow motion game even though I spent 1.5k for this laptop only 3 years ago, I ended up prioritising my GPU, overclocking my GPU, closing all other applications while playing, lowering all settings, updating all drivers and still have the same issue, now it has gotten even worse as other games I used to play at 200-300 fps all run at around 30. help pls lol.
If you are experiencing issues with other games as well that means the problem is with your laptop. I would recommend undoing every change you have done in the past like overclocking etc and then try. Would be best if you just start fresh with a new windows and drivers installed.

Additionally: I only have a 1080p screen but in the Nvidia Settings you can add custom resolutions. So I've tried 2k and 4k resolution. The resolutions are now also available to choose within the game. So I guess this is Downscaling, which should improve the quality even more.

If your pc can run this game at it's max settings and still up the resolution by that much it might be time to think about a monitor upgrade.

My laptop run this game on 59FPS , but with very weird drops and lags, especially in the character menu screen. It can drop there to 30 or even to 15FPS, and after i go online with 59 again but with probability of dropping to 55-56. I noticed that sometimes it runs better then other times
Even though i did everything u suggest in this video i don't see too much of a difference. If I tweak all the graphics to low it will drop the same as if i stick with ultra. is there a way to get out of this and have a smooth experience? Thank u.
The character select is just built in a way that howering over a character makes the game load the entire model, so fps drops over there is expected. The only suggestion for that I can give is to run the game from an SSD to reduce the loading times. As for online, that is also a Namco optimization problem. Also once again it depends on your internet and storage speeds as well. Many people are experiencing this issue. You are not alone, but there is nothing you can do about it for now.

The DLSS config mod advises against using it for online games as the game may pick it up as a cheat tool. Have you had any issues with this?
Anti cheat mods only checks tampering with in game files that are in your steam library. They never check registry files or config files.
I have followed these steps but it is still very laggy,

Your card is the issue. It is a quadro series card for which I am sure Bamco did no optimization for as it is a production card and not a mainstream gaming card. On top of that its raw power is equal to only a GTX 1050 Ti which cannot even play this game at steady 60 fps at lowest settings possible. Even with upscaling enabled the GTX 1050 Ti struggles to play the game. Your only option is to upgrade your GPU buddy.
this just make it worse for me, cuz when i use this i get 40-48fps but when i delete the UE5 settings from the vid i get 50-60fps

@@frazszs If you use everything on low then you should only add the chromatic aberration, DOF removal lines or particle reducing lines in UE5 engine file (if you want those removed). Adding anything else will override the low settings you have set in graphics settings and will give you less framerate than before. Try only adding these 3 things I mentioned in engine file and update me again.

i think you should ony apply unreal engine settings and optimization setting dont apply any lut and coulour grading to the same because its mess with game art style for the worst
but my game looks stunning with those applied. All my 4K videos shows how it looks for me.

1440p on a 2070 for this game is a hit or miss. Ultra is good but you might need to use DLSS Quality if you are getting like 55 fps or dropping lower than 60 in some stages or animations.

Very old GPU buddy. Sorry but you have to resort to lowest settings possible with lowering resolution scale as well.
Watch Digital Foundry's Tekken 8 video and use the recommended settings for Steam Deck and tweak them from there. You should be able to at least increase the resolution as the 1650 is considerably more powerful than the Steam Deck.

Sorry to say that your CPU and CPU are very old. Also recommended RAM is 16GB and you have only 8GB of RAM. You have to stick with lowest settings possible.🙁
