There are timestamps for these sections down near the bottom of this description. This took 2 long days with no sleep to put together, but it was worth it! Hope you guys find it useful! ENJOY!
edit: forgot to put the electric kick combo in!!!! f n d df3, ws3, df11, f23f1+2, hold df, 14
sorry again!!!
edit: the b1+3 parry reversal stomp i was on about at the end is when she is in heat and goes into heaven wrath, in that stance she parries any high or mid automatically with the classic heihachi style reversal with 2 stomps, super cool. sorry i missed that one guys!

The amount of positive comments and support on this video is kinda surreal to me. Thank you guys so much for all the positive comments, helpful tips and feedback on the guide! I'm also gonna make a shorter part 2 to this guide going over all the things i missed out that are in the comments down below and i'll make sure to reference all the people who gave the tips out in the video
Thanks so much!
I learned a lot from watching this video an the next one you posted. I was having a lot of trouble with her but it helped me improve a lot! I'll definitely send people this way if they need some Reina tips. Keep it up!!!
Glad the videos help dude, and i appreciate it man!
This video is really good! I just wish there was a google doc or something for this information, because I keep having to pause and unpause to write all of this down lol.
The stomp reversal for heaven's wrath happens only in heat. If someone hits you during the animation of the heavens wrath stance she does it automatically.
thanks so much for the info! Yesterday i discovered this just after publishing the video LMAO
@@idleeagle also I found out about 30 minutes ago that unsoku up does her forward counter effect for punches which is a safer option because she side steps abit. You still have to time it though. great video.
oh shit thats a good option, i'll lab it, thanks
Really wonderful guide. Thank you!
can u explain this please for someone who is dmb as f like myself ^^'?@@01Zenaku01
It didn't get mentioned so here's some extra notes I discovered just yesterday
Her CD 4,2 (hellsweep into punch) can transition into Heaven's Wrath by HOLDING DOWN which is kind of the compensation for her shit low game but enough to be a threat.
Her WS 4,4 can also transition to Heaven's Wrath with the same input to threaten another HW mixup.
Also saw another person (Aki Easybot is the channel name but their @ is convoluted) comment that WR 4 can also transition into HW for a +8 and mixup
Go ham future Reina mains
What does Cd mean? Sorry im nes to tekken
It means crouch dash@@zenitsu9870
@@zenitsu9870it means crouch dash aka wave dash. it refers to the forward>neutral(no input) >down>down forward input that puts you in a crouch dash stance from which you get access to exclusive moves like the electric wind god fist and the hell sweep
I feel like Reina is the most rewarding character to lab
I agree. She’s a journey to learn and it ain’t easy.
Best newcomer by far. I mean Victor is more overtuned, but Reina's gameplay design is inspired.
Very informative guide! Thank you very much. I will come back to this from time to time cause Reina is just so much fun.
Good work getting this out as soon as you did. Pretty comprehensive man!
Thank you for this guide . This character has sparked an sudden interest in me after the reveal trailer and this is my first time playing someone with from a Mishima bloodline so I’m gonna need it 😅
Reina hurts my brain but I love her, great video!
Great video man, if you keep making content like this you'll be a pillar for the knowledge side in no-time. Very well put together and informative, similar to Repal back in 2011. Thanks for the guide!!
Loved the pace of this and timeline breakdown! Very informative and helped me level up my Reina
Got tekken 8 yesterday and one of the first character that caught my eye was reina and this video is really straight forward and helpful. You make her seem not as confusing as she actually is
Great Guide. Thanks for taking the time to go into detail and in depth of the whole character. Lot of content creators do the bare minimum. I feel like I have a full understanding of her Do's and Don't. Great Job! looking forward for future content.
Thanks a lot, I've been waiting for something like this
I truly do appreciate and love you for making this man
exactly the kind of video i was looking
thanks man
Thanks for the guide! I've been searching for combos to convert on a lot of the CH I was getting yesterday. Now I can actually convert off of DF2 lol
The forward tap neutral parry I believe does not guarantee anything, but a mixup. You can probably threaten a hellsweep mixup. Kind of a crappy parry for something that requires you to use forward as a parry.
If you get a CH WS 2, you can get a guaranteed 2~1 into electric god kick or stomp.
Good insights on her core moves, helped me a lot actually :)
HW's stomp happens only when heat is activated
Been a heihachi main since tekken 1. I dare say i like this character more than heihachi. Got her to ranger rank today and i barely play ranked. (TBH ranked means nothing this early on). What helped me out is her df+1 in boxing matches. Also her b+2. Its a great safe mid that creates space so you can play mind games with your stances. Great guide good sir.
I've watched many guides. From many pros. This is the best.
thank you, just what I needed !
the first guide that pops up on youtube
now its time to learn her
Best tutorial out on this character so far thank you
Thanks the layout for her move set. Reina is my favorite and number 1 character to play in Tekken 8.
first tekken game and it’s been cool going back to this video slowly understanding more and being able to use more of it. the move list is a bit overwhelming but this laid out really well while still being succinct
Great guide! Thanks a bunch
She’s got an extremely steppable demon paw but it’s 14f done perfectly, and guarantees sentai 3 into heat, lots of good stuff, and insane pressure, kinda seems to have Lee’s problem if they’re patient, it can be tough without lows, but don’t duck Heihachi carried over lol
sick video ! you deserve more views
Very helpful video. Will use this to improve my Reina game ❤
Appreciate this fr man your amazing God bless !!
Thank you for great guide! Waiting same for azusena and zafina!
From my observation i figured out this:
1. You can do regular parry using unsoku stance and its more consistent. Just set dummy for 1, n, df1 and try use unsoku in between hits - she will parry
2. Regualr parry doesnt reward you with any guaranteed damage - only crouchdash mixup
3. As T7 jin u can cancel stances with crouch dash. For example, press b3 for "usoku get", then df (for crouch dash) and after press b. She will cancel her stance, making it save
As a character, i cant say that she is broken.
Her weak sides
1. Its not easy to open up good opponent with her:
a) no low launchers
b) her lows doesnt give you + frames
c) almost all her lows are launch punishbable
basically she uses lows to make opponent duck and be able to apply her strong mids
d) she doesnt have like crazy ch game
2. Akward punishment for lows
Its not very natural to do crouch block and then df4 input, its easy to mess up. If you mess up punishment you are -16)
3.Regural heat smash felt very weak for me
a) regular heat smash is 21 frames. For example, Bryans is 18. You always get beaten up from using it by some random shit.
More constistent combo from CH (when char touches his stomach)
df1, f2,3, jab, f2,3, f (setnai), 1+2 (for screw), you enter HW stance, after you use one of 3 extensions
a) if there are no walls = df1, 4 (crouch dash into omen)
b) if you are at the wall
- in HW stance = 4, 2, 2, 1+2 for wadamage
- in HW stance = 1, 4 for OKi
Yooo 41k veiws is massive, Well Deserved!
this video was amazing thank you very much if you can may you make a video on her mix jails and or neutral i will be sharing this video in the tekken discord!
Such a good guide. 11/10
really helpful, thanks a lot :)
Just subbed, looking forward to Reina
The problem is that Reina might follow Heihachi's footsteps in terms of a low pick rate in tournaments once people figure her out and abuse her risky lows. The only improvement compared to Heihachi is that she has guaranteed throws and less execution requirements for EWGF to balance out her bad lows.
Yeah, exactly. That's the feeling I get from this character.
I'm in low ranks and people already figured out her weaknesses.
They know Regina's transitions into stances and I get punished for switching stances which kills all the fun of the character.
You should not be losing with reina in low ranks she's literally ez mode up until I'd say Fujin @@nyrva2876
Great stuff!
However you missed some things
You can do hellsweep into heavens wrath by doing wavu 4 2 ~down
There’s also a power crush on heavens wrath, which is 1+2.
She’s also got a punch parry in Down 3 which leaves her +10 but goes into wavu automatically.
Her tsunami kick ws 44 can also transition into heavens wrath by holding down
You can also pick up with ws3 after any crumple effect like CH electric kick or with df1 if you’re standing
She’s awesome!
You can actually do whule standing 1 into sentai 2. Very reminiscent of Heihachi
I believe reversal parry is the same input but only happens in heat. Cheers though good video
thanks man, also thanks for the info!
You can also do while standing 1 into sentai 3 for two more damage and heat engager
Sick video I'll be using it for reference
This video is actually amazing in terms of what gets covered and explained. I was a Kazuya main and palyed heihachi also quite often and now I think I will be switching to Reina, since she is very fun to play and if you land things it really rewarding. Also her high combo potential is amazing and with enough practice not that hard to execute.
For any new players that are looking at this guide and are unsure what the terms mean here is a quick breakdown...
U = up
F = forward
D = down
B= back
1 = left punch (square on PS5 & X on Xbox)
2 = right punch (triangle on PS5 & Y on Xbox)
3 = left kick (X on PS5 & A on Xbox)
4 = right kick (circle on PS5 & B on Xbox)
C = crouch
CD = crouch dash
N = neutral
WS = while standing
WD = wave dash
Also for Reina specific terms you usually use
Sen = sentai
HW = heaven's wrath
What's the difference between CD and WD?
Good guide bro
If you are having trouble doing df1 after the ff2SEN3 you can replace it with df2 into df1, the only change necesary is bounding with SEN2 instead of 1+2. You can mash it no timing needed.
22:38
It's a 13 frame electric! Meaning she has Kaz's CH PEWGF launch guaranteed from the high giving her +13
Reina does actually have an i13 electric just like Kazuya. Thanks to the mist step. She can also have a PEWGF set-up with CH HAE 1 in the neutral against long legged characters, and launch on all characters at the wall. If you're quick that is. The time is strict.
didn't put 2 and 2 together on that, thanks for the info dude!
@@idleeagle No problem!
What's HAE 1 ?
CH what??
@@user-gu2jv6hu6m Heaven and Earth 1
You can transition into stance off cd42 into +6
Awesome video, exactly what I need to start practicing! Any advice for wall combos?
Amazing video,thank you,Reina seems a balanced character that requires huge skills to really master her
Super helpful video! I would recommend having on screen notation or frame data as you explain. Nonetheless, I'll be studying this to level up my Reina. Thanks a lot
He does the move and you can see the frame data at the bottom and he tells you throughout the whole video the frame data and the buttons to do the move
@@velvet33 I understand that. There’s this cool thing called video editing that they invented to make the video more effective, though. You should check it out
Good job
33:01 the mist step parry automatically sends you into the wind god step stance. that’s why the follow ups are most likely guaranteed.
i'm sorry to say... there's nothing guaranteed after her punch parry
@@lokikuroba531 ah damn that clears that up then. thanks for the correction!
After spending several hours on Reina in the training mode, I though she had no good counter launchers. And then you showed me B4. Damn, this thing is a beast. Great video!
Electric cd3 is a ch launcher too also -9 on block
@@poontycoon7354 I don't think that qualifies as a "good" Ch launcher though. Having to do the just frame input to keep it from being punishable is pretty tedious and even if you're really good at electric inputs you will fail at it randomly and any player on their shit will fuck you up and it will be infuriating 😂
@@tonyl9636electrics always been punishable if you don’t hit the just frame, cd3 is an evasive mid CH launcher that isn’t punishable, how is that not good?
@@derekhefner7979 because your definition includes "it's not punishable" but it is. I'm not trying to shit on your main, calm yourself, I was just tentatively suggesting that maybe the utility of that particular part of this particular characters arsenal may or may not be sub optimal based on ease of use.
@@tonyl9636 if you're playing a Mishima without doing any electrics (be them god kicks or wgfs) you're significantly hampering your power ceiling, you can play them up to a certain point, but you'll be a lot weaker options wise vs better players
Just a small tid bit. Be careful using her wind step ( her forward * input) because your opponent can catch you with a untechable grab when you enter wind step since it’s considered a parry.
You are the man
To know if it es guaranteed or not, set the dummy to block all for action on hit. That way, if it’s not guaranteed, the dummy will block
CD 4,2 (D) leads to heaven wrath wich is +6 mixup
The parry guarantees the WGF as it registers the forward-neutral (inputs for the parry) as part of the motion. Planning for it though so you were not in the process of pressing other buttons is another matter >_
shes probably the sickest newcomer ever in tekken been using her the last two days and shes honestly my new main (prior kaz main)
played reina, the hellsweep if can confirm hit while rising 1 2 + 2 since she already crouches after the string. shes my first mishima character and i thoroughly enjoy her kit
feel free to correct me, only started playing tekken last summer 😂
I fought this annoying char yesterday, good to see an in-depth guide about her!
my Favorite character in this game
amazing video, and very well explained. thank you from a lazy high level tekken player lol
Might worth noting that unsoku gen can also parry
good point, forgot to mention that one. thanks for the info!
33:00 if you record holding back after the move, you will see if she blocks it.
1:00 “It’s all hit confirmable” not a single hit is hit confirmable lol. It’s a natural combo yes. You can’t do a single hit out of it and then confirm the next hits. People always mix those 2 up.
thx you. I test that and after 1 min of video, there already a big mistake. I don't know whether I should continue ! haha
@@Akiruu nah that’s exactly when I turned it off 😂 even people in the comments are giving him tips when it’s his own guide. You can tell he just wanted the content out as fast as possible before others made it
@@Akiruu Even the mixup categories is like low level tech. A rolling mixup is not what you should try to do as mixups with Reina. It’s just a gimmick she has. Mixups come from conditioning with certain moves. Not that
Nice vid! Quick question. how can i avoid her doing sentai after the df1 in your first combo?
Ws 44(Tsunami kicks) hold down to transition to Heaven's Wrath Stance
wow i did not know thats crazy, thanks man
Great video! I watch it completely yesterday and came back to check something but I couldn’t find it. The counter from wind step. If successful, it gives you +10 frames of advantage and in a while standing stance, but I cannot find any guaranteed punish from it. The fastest I found is 11 frames with 2. Am I missing something or the parry only gives you a mixup opportunity? Appreciate the help! 👋
Thanks! The parry gives a wavu mixup by holding df so hellsweep, cd14 or ff2 etc
you have to be in heat the d12 and IT Automatically Parry Mid And High
Down 3 also parries at the start
Dope. Ass. Video! Thank you! BTW, she has frame perfect parries from all stances except the ducking stance and the b3 stance. The timing is a bit too tight to be viable, though. Feels like you can only get them on luck.
You didn't mention that fff4 can be transitioned into stance by holding down, which gives you +8 and mix up.
Great video, but I think you should show the combos in real time. We can just slow the video down on UA-cam if we want to see it slower.
I noticed heavens wrath 1 as counter Hit ist +13 and at the wall the enemy is Close enough tonget a free df1,2 for wall splat
Love this video. The combo that starts with a fly kick has “micro dash” before the DF11. any forward input turns the df1 into the wind step move. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Please someone help with this micro dash 🙏🙏🙏
Hey it might have been pointed out (or not as I don't see ANYBODY talking about this) but your df2 combo here is not optimal.
It goes: DF+2, FF2 SEN 3, DF+2, DF+1, F2,3 SEN, DF+1 SEN 1+2 WRA, CD, 1,4 and it does 69 damage. It's also far more consistent than the one shown here as the df+1 likes to whiff if you don't do the ff2 sen 3 right. I have a detailed breakdown on the Tekken Zaibatsu under reina :)
I feel like this is even more inconsistent because of how you alternate F, DF, F in the F2,3 SEN, DF+1 SEN part, so it's really easy to misinput and either accidentally do F2,3 SEN 1 or DF+1 and miss the second SEN (at least on pad, it becomes even more inconsistent for me)
@@hanslim7 With respect you're obviously a new player and your execution is not good yet. This is not hard to do in the scheme of Reina's options. Practice a bunch and you'll get it consistently.
How do you connect df1 (or df11) after ff2f3? It whiffs like 90% of the time for me
I hate that she doesn’t have any good lows but I feel like if she did my goodness she would be insanely overpowered
Exactly
Tested the parries and none of them give anything guaranteed. B1+3 for example goes to heaven's wrath, but the situation is neutral. It also doesn't interrupt strings so I see pretty much no use for it. The Heihachi parry is in heat mode. Heat mode heaven's wrath parries mids and highs and it is in the notations in the heat section.
Yes, I don't understand why they gave her parries that lead to nothing. Only in heat it's useful for HW and even then, people already figured that out.
Guys, do you know how to use the neutral 1+4 (at the same time) ? It makes reina to bend down but idk how I can use it to do a combo.
i find it uselfull to dodge a high/mid because it’s a really fast animation, but I don’t know what hit I can pair it with (i am new on fighting games btw)
Cant seem to do even the first combo, I can never do df1 in time to catch them after ff2f3. What am I doing wrong? Am I doing it too slow? (But any faster and I cant do ff2 since the game just treats it as f2)
im really struggling to learn her but im sure it'll pay off
If you could please put pictures instead of text next time for a combo video that would be amazing, works better for beginners
Is anyone having problems to df1 after ff2-3 on starters like b4 or uf4 or fc3 4, it works sometimes but sometimes df1 wiffs, im not sure whats the issue, i tried delay ff2-3 and sometimes it works, but i wonder what do to exactly to work 100%
forward neutral 3 is very similar to bryan’s 3+4. I believe you forgot to mention it launches on counter hit
i did forget thats my bad, it's such a good move and that's one of the reasons. i just didn't realise at the time
@@idleeagle no biggie, still a great video. helps alot
It's not a good move, it lingers and is easy to punish. It doesn't track either. Most of the times you'll push people back. If you're lucky and get a CH it's fine but in a realistic scenario you won't see it happen often.
how about:
low parry combos
optimal wall combo
wall carry combo
guys where i can find a cheat sheet code for reina?
10:12 after 2 you can press down to go in heavens wrath.
Imma tell you guys a really good combo if you find this comment it works wonders in games if you manage to catch someone with her long roll kick or crouch and do down forward 1 you can do forward 2 3 into sentai 2 then do back 1 1 3 3 does 69 damage with the roll version not sure about the normal one
For the combos section when you say "works for" does that mean it works for all of those specific starters?
yes
@idleeagle thank you!
Her WS+2 CH has a pretty strict combo behind it but it works, can be done with or without the just frames but the JF's do more damage:
CH WS+2, 2~1(JF), extremely quick, short Micro Dash(where you can't even tell she moved), D+4,1(JF) (61 Damage)
Hey! When you say a character has "electrics" what does that mean and what effect do they have?
You have to input the electric move perfectly. In her case it's f, neutral, df + 2 at the same time (perfect frame). You'll see an electric effect on her uppercut, she does more damage, it comes out quicker, and is safer on block than the regular version.
I my opinion it's not worth the trouble. You miss the input, you get demolished for it.
How is it a guide if you just show the moves while saying how they are done? Thats litteraly in the game as movelist
u can get some good damage off counter hit uf1 i labbed it earlier but i think u get 3 for heat engage or 2 and you get a combo i’ll comment it when i lab it again
it's plus 13 so you get 1 4 from heavens wrath
u can cancel into sentai stance after 1
@@idleeagle
ohhh i think i know what you mean. do you mean uf1, 1,forward for sentai, 3?
@@idleeagle yessss!!!!
labbed this earlier, crazy you can actually get this, thanks
