To be rather blunt about it, Tom Scholz puts the entire band of Tool to shame with what he can do (and he doesn't take years to get it done, and he does it all himself).
He was likely plagued with anxiety standing there under the stage lights. Surely you realize he has MAJOR performance anxiety, and that's why he's always in the background of the stage in the dark while the rest of Tool is covered in spotlights?
How long do we have to wait until another group of musicians can tear it up on stage like this? It's been too long since this amount of guts has been poured out to mass audiences. Come on, music. Come back.

There is more good music every day, than there has ever been in the past because of the availability of instruments, knowledge, and technology. Why do youtube comments act like there aren't amazing indie bands that play every genre imaginable rn. There is more good music every day, than there has ever been in the past because of the availability of instruments, knowledge, and technology. Bands like Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, MGMT, Fuzz, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and The Oh Sees, just to name a few out of hundreds. Just because other music is more popular, doesn't mean amazing music isn't made anymore.
