To the woman who commented above under the name "Let's Cook Italiano" You Are More Than Welcome Regarding My Main Comment Above! One day, I hope to be able to visit Italy to experience the culture and eat some Authentic Italian food! Be well! From a Sista from Brooklyn, New York.
I been watching Italians go on about food and cooking for a minute and the thing I realised is that Italian culture CARES about food but not in like arrogant way but in a true nutritious way the reasons Italians get upset about food so hard is because most of their cuisine hold true and tried wisdoms This is the true reason that Italians grandmother's seem to be immortal because they truly care and cherish the ingredients and nutrients they put in their body.In a nutshell Italian cuisine is like the definition of quality of quantity Edit: I am not Italian this is coming from an outside perspective also I ain't the most articulate writer
Huh, I loved this episode! The moms were really fair and honest while eating each other's food. But I noticed a scoring discrepancy in the video. During the video at 2:39 Edimara receives an overall score of 15/20 and at 4:32 it shows Selene receiving an overall score of 12/20, however, in the end (6:18), their scores were switched showing Edimara receiving a 12/20 and Selene receiving a 15/20. This may be an editing error but please correct for accuracy @BuzzFeedUK.

@@areswalker5647 omg, thank you!! wish youtube had notified me of your comment, sorry it took so long to reply here's my overall trial and errors: I'm not super good at cooking, so I buy pre made pasta and just boil it on water and salt I think my main problem is the sauce for seasoning I mainly go for salt, pepper, basil, onions and garlic I have tried to use bacon besides the minced meat once, I believe Italians often use some sort of pork too... but I think mine turned out worst than when I didn't use any, so I haven't used it since I fry onions and garlic on olive oil then, I've tried to put tomatoes first, let it reduce then add the meat, and I have also tried to cook the meat until it's golden before adding any tomatoes (I've tried tomato sauce, puree, and fresh tomatoes), but neither turned out super great lol one doubt I always have is if I should mix the pasta and sauce and cook it together, or cook separately then mix them at the end also heard that I should add some of the past water on the sauce, but it didn't make much difference for me, maybe I didn't add enough also, I think one mistake I make is not cooking the sauce for long enough cuz I usually go for one hour, one hour and a half maximum
@@nathalykim1263 hi :) Don't worry about being late, sometimes UA-cam makes a mess of notifications, it happened to me too. Anyway I'm gonna write the Bolognese recipe that i think would work better for you according to your time limit (being the same as mine, it means i also usually cook Bolognese like this for me and my family, so it's family proofed). I dunno if you do it for a single person or for multiple people so I'm only gonna write the procedure and general ingredients. First step: soffritto. Put the pot on the fire and when it starts to be warm put oil enough to cover the base of it. When the oil's hot (not enough to fry just enough to start making some little bubbles) put the previously chopped carrots, onions and celery. While you make them cook gold you season the soffritto with a bit of salt and black pepper. Second step: the meat. Taste vary according to the type of meat and the animal obviously; for a richer taste I'd use two different minced meat (pork and veal). [Other options: it's good even if you use only one of the two, or you can use turkey mince if you want a lighter meat. Depends on what you want and need, or what you can find in the stores but refrain from getting too far from the first advice because the end result of the pasta depends on it. Plus keep in mind that the bigger the pieces of minced meat are the best because it keeps the juices in.] When the soffritto is quite done put the meat in the pot and stir it. Add a bit of salt and mix it all. Third step: the sauce. When the meat is medium raw (half red, lightly golden meat) you add the tomato sauce. It needs to be at the very least enough to cover all the ingredients by three fingers (going to explain why later). Add oil, salt and red pepper to your taste. Add some parmigiano cheese and basil too. Now you leave it to boil, the longer it boils the more tasty it's gonna be but the longer you mean for it to boil, the more sauce you need because by boiling it's gonna reduce a lot. Let it cook until it's a beautiful deep red color, the sauce is creamy with meat juice and each ingredients are cooked. Fourth step: the pasta. This is gonna be tricky because while people abroad know this recipe as "spaghetti Bolognese", in Italy we don't use spaghetti when doing Bolognese, you need something bigger and "rougher" in order to trap the meaty sauce; so we use Fettuccine, Rigatoni, Pappardelle, Tagliatelle, even Penne Rigate Is better than Spaghetti for this recipe. About the preparation: put some water in a pot on the fire and wait, after it starts boiling add salt and the pasta. Now be aware because this makes all the difference: the pack of pasta indicates you the minutes it needs to cook, when you're four/five -ish minutes from it to be ready according to the pack, take it off from the water and put it in the sauce on the fire. Stir and mix, adding bits of the pasta water while doing it (we do it because the pasta water contains the amid of the pasta so it helps the pasta and sauce to better unify the tastes, making it all creamy and unified). Keep doing it until your pasta is ready al dente (don't make it overcooked, you're gonna ruin all the hard work by doing that). Last step: plate it. You just take the pasta off the fire and put it in a plate, add some other Bolognese sauce and put some parmigiano cheese on top. A basil leaf on top of it all and you're ready to dig in and eat imaging to be back in Italy until you can come again 😊

They have done Indian mums try daal and Indian mums try Aloo Gobi

So nice to finally see a group of mums on here who just love and care about the food, instead of their own egos.
I love how respectful and courteous these mom's are! Totally a change from what Buzzfeed normally puts out. I love these ladies. More like this!
They're all so sweet and respectful
Thanks!
This made me miss my mom and I'm not Italian. All of the women were so positive and kind. Loved that energy, also we need to see more of Edimara she radiates positivity. Her smile can melt even the coldest hearts!

"I can't eat this"
"Terrible food"
"Where the salt?"
Where is the flavour ? I don't taste anything
Because they can actually cook
“Too much nutmeg”

The Italian mums are so nice to each other. So refreshing.
Thank you 😊
These moms are so polite and wholesome, even with criticism. More please 🥺❤️

Moms on other episodes of "Moms try other Moms......" need to look at and learn from this video! These 3 Italian moms were objective, kind, honest and fair in their judging of each other's food. They didn't insult each other's food and no one spit out anyone else's food! Bravissima! From a Sista from Brooklyn, New York.

@@leahnole9771 thank you! And I hope one day to be back in Brooklyn!! Been there twice and had such a great time!!
I'm Caribbean and the difference between this group and any group with Caribbean mothers is making me scream. They're so nice!
I been watching Italians go on about food and cooking for a minute and the thing I realised is that Italian culture CARES about food but not in like arrogant way but in a true nutritious way the reasons Italians get upset about food so hard is because most of their cuisine hold true and tried wisdoms This is the true reason that Italians grandmother's seem to be immortal because they truly care and cherish the ingredients and nutrients they put in their body.In a nutshell Italian cuisine is like the definition of quality of quantity
Edit: I am not Italian this is coming from an outside perspective also I ain't the most articulate writer
Food is such an important part in our culture, it’s the highlight of our day ♥️

Huh, I loved this episode! The moms were really fair and honest while eating each other's food. But I noticed a scoring discrepancy in the video. During the video at 2:39 Edimara receives an overall score of 15/20 and at 4:32 it shows Selene receiving an overall score of 12/20, however, in the end (6:18), their scores were switched showing Edimara receiving a 12/20 and Selene receiving a 15/20. This may be an editing error but please correct for accuracy @BuzzFeedUK.
Glad I wasn’t the only one that noticed!!
Yeah same, I thought I was the only who noticed.
Yeahhh I noticed it too
I hope they didn't tell them the wrong scores

I think you mixed up Edimara's and Selene's final score but no matter, Martina got the highest score anyway😅 imo Edimara's looked the tastiest:) It really made me crave bolognese. Might be cooking myself some later today!
I saw that too and rewatched to confirm.

Very respectful
This is beautiful, I love that they were all so nice to each others bolognese, and weren't insulting the other dishes.
This is what I want to see. They're being respectful and they're giving constructive criticism. Unlike the other videos that the mums are cocky.
Now I want their recipe to try!! I love how nice and honest they were!! Awwww

Aww thank you!
I went to Italy for two weeks in 2014 and ate pasta every day. ever since I have been trying to reproduce the delicious bolognese I ate there and I haven't ever gotten even close. I don't know what I do wrong, but these look amazing 😭 I miss Italy so much, never ate better in my life
I'm Italian and I'm good at cooking, if you tell me how you make the Bolognese i can point out what you could change to help you revive the authentic Bolognese taste you ate while here in Italy :)
@@areswalker5647 omg, thank you!! wish youtube had notified me of your comment, sorry it took so long to reply
here's my overall trial and errors:
I'm not super good at cooking, so I buy pre made pasta and just boil it on water and salt
I think my main problem is the sauce
for seasoning I mainly go for salt, pepper, basil, onions and garlic
I have tried to use bacon besides the minced meat once, I believe Italians often use some sort of pork too... but I think mine turned out worst than when I didn't use any, so I haven't used it since
I fry onions and garlic on olive oil
then, I've tried to put tomatoes first, let it reduce then add the meat, and I have also tried to cook the meat until it's golden before adding any tomatoes (I've tried tomato sauce, puree, and fresh tomatoes), but neither turned out super great lol
one doubt I always have is if I should mix the pasta and sauce and cook it together, or cook separately then mix them at the end
also heard that I should add some of the past water on the sauce, but it didn't make much difference for me, maybe I didn't add enough
also, I think one mistake I make is not cooking the sauce for long enough cuz I usually go for one hour, one hour and a half maximum
Plus keep in mind that the bigger the pieces of minced meat are the best because it keeps the juices in.]
When the soffritto is quite done put the meat in the pot and stir it.
