WOW HER COMMENTS ABOUT GRAIN OF SAND WILL LIVE WITH ME FOREVER. THE MOST FACTUAL AND BEAUTIFUL AND TRUEST THING TO SAY AS ITS TRUE OF ALL OF US AND MUST BE PASSED ON TO EVERY ONE.
Some of these comments are disgusting. But this movie definetly should have won an Oscar. Amazing film and it was nice to see my man Studi representing as always! #TulsaPride #OklahomaPride #WesForLife
countingcoup Certainly we have enough films about First Nations featuring white men ...But I think this is a movie about white people, not Native American history. It beats the sentimentality of films like Dances With Wolves all to hell. It is intimate, slow, and full of silence. Those qualities alone set it apart .
Yeaaah, I noticed that 2. The story it's self was powerfull, but let's be honest, this family didnt seem like a family. Barely talked to eachother, we never really got to know any of them, mabye except the grandpa. I might be speaking out wrongly, but you can't make a film talking about reconciliation and only give one side 3 dimensional personalities, the Europeans. But none the less I liked how this film might start conversation, plus the actors were amazing.
Dean Nez Thanks. I was curious bc it's my understanding that approx half the indigenous peoples of America prefer not to be called Native Americans. I think it's more respectful in the US to refer to ppl native to this land either by their tribe or as our indigenous ppl. But not everyone knows that, I guess.
There was no modern stupidity in it that was the way it was. It was not just John Wayne heroics and all that other stuff. There was also a lot of double crossing on both sides.
@@nagriswold1326 No, @Wolf Chromebook is right. HEr top lip was always larger, I'll give you that, but now it's overfilled in the area. Look at this interview with Q'orianka during filming, ua-cam.com/video/vTx3yvfKvf0/v-deo.html her top lip wasn't as swollen and overfilled.
I thought it was a good movie but I didn't buy the change in attitude of the Christian Bale character. People don't change that easily; I felt that it was a "movie" moment and not realistic.
Movies can be just entertainment to distract us from reality, or they can be made to make us think. The director expressly said wanted to create a movie based in the latter. which I personally find refreshing. The interviewer only briefly related the introspection when facing a conundrum of heading toward a path of hatred and acting violently toward others largely out of fear, which was totally in-line with what the actors were already discussing. No one said discussing cultural relations was easy, so what better way to present such complicated matters than in a neutral creative medium like cinema? If it makes you uncomfortable, it's because you have a conscience. It SHOULD make us uncomfortable to ponder on such things. It's up to you whether you'd consider this movie as an opportunity to have food for thought presented to you in the context of a movie, it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea. As for me? I love movies that make me think. Peace and prosperity to you.
Um, no “guy made this racist.” We live in a nation created by slavery and genocide. This is a movie about individuals learning to see the humanity of each other’s demons. This movie does what the United States has steadfastly REFUSED to do.
She's always had rather thick, full, plump lips. But yeah it looks swollen. She definitally did something to them. most likely just fat injection or something minor that eventually wears off. However a trick actresses use is to take cinnamon and put it on their lips. It brings blood to it giving it a thicker look.
Wes Studi is the man.

Oscar is highly influenced by policians and Illuminates
iam stunned by the beauty of Q'Orianka Kilcher..but yeah, good interview :)
One of the best movies in years.
Good try, Magua, we'll never forget you!
He's also a pawnee in dances with wolves
I felt so bad when he scalped
Wes you were sharp being Geronimo
I haven't watched the movie yet, but I did like Q'orianka's interview, I like what she said.
Amazing that the director comes out with the indigenous actors, when their parts in the movie were minimized...

I agree. That's one problem I had when I went to see this movie.
I'm wondering from what tribe of Indian is Wes Studi from? He is a very good actor! Loved him in a lot of movies!
Bloody good film,, Even better coz Wes Studi was in it,
I thought the movie was a little over-dramatic but I love Q'orianka.
Me too
Scott Cooper played "Gilpin" in Broken Trail
Hey Wes, give Timmons back his marshmellows!
I'm glad to hear Native American not indigenous tribe
Why?
Ki11erWhale18905 indigenous tribe are from south America native Americans are from north America

native Americans are indigenious tribes
scott edwards I'm full blooded Navajo so I call myself native American
Excellent movie. Don't care much for the preaching in this interview. Everyone is an 'activist' nowadays.
I am so sick of people who make a period piece like this & put their modern political stupidity into it!
No doubt but that's the reality we have to endure.
There was no modern stupidity in it that was the way it was.

Even the critics are either A of D on this one. Nothing in between. Few performances are OK, but the film as a whole is a huge bloody mess...
Dark times because the election doesn't go his way? A person from the Cherokee Nation is sitting right next to him.
Whyy has Q'orianka ruined her lips like that? :(
Have you seen New World? - same lips
Those are real
I don't know why she did that. They looked fine before.

Why does the guy have to make things racist it’s just entertainment

It wouldn't be historically accurate if the movie didn't include the racism of the times
I have waited to see this film with a lot of anticipation, and THEN I realize he director is a fucking SJW. Sigh. Its a Hollywood Disease.

GARY suprise suprise. White man gets offended through mentioning of HISTORY. Get over it troglodyte
what's up with the puffed up lips?
she clearly had them done since shooting the film. Cant lie, looks sexy af!
Knight Ryder No offense, but this is how she's always looked. It's her natural look. Have you seen her earlier films?
Yeah man..why would any man question that? haha
Super attractive woman. whew.
