Have you ever read a movie review and felt like it completely missed the point (and the magic!) of a film you love? Brie Larson apparently has, and is offering a tangible, achievable solution to these misguided reviews: a more diverse pool of film critics. At the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, Brie spoke about the importance of greater representation in criticism, which would hopefully lead to increased representation in the films themselves.
@Mildly Amusing Channel Oh I know that, wise man. My comment never says anything about old men NOT being able to use computers. What my comment is saying that this old man isn't who he says he is. Could I be wrong? Hell's yes, but I like to think this guy isn't 70.
@@alexanderspear9464 Yeah, there are no other great movies and actors deserving of an oscar.🙄Since the actor and film you wanted to win didn't, there must be an agenda. Great films and performances get ignored every year. You can't nominate every great film and performance.
Ammar Z it must be hard to describe a movie that you can’t really “tell all”. And yet, Bale breaks down his character and the other with such detail that without giving anything away, it makes you want to learn more and of course watch the movie.
I admire Bale when he talks about the characters he played. You can feel how passionate he is and the understanding of every detail about his character
One thing that I love with Bale is how he takes his characters VERY seriously. It's almost like he's written it. So many actors are clueless about these things, just saying their lines...
WES IS THE JOHN WAYNE OF NATIVE AMERICAN ACTORS. HE IS SO CAPTIVATING ON SCREEN. EVEN ON THIS PROMO INTERVIEW WITH ALL 3 ACTORS. THE WHOLE TIME I JUST WANTED TO HEAR HIM TALK THE MOST. I ONLY WISH HE WAS IN MORE MOVIES!
Wes is a living legend, a genuine Indian, an American who really has SOMETHING to say about American ethics and American art. Christian is perhaps the most talented actor of our times. Rosamund is a GORGEOUS woman. All three gave POWERFUL performances in the film, especially Christian. Being not nominated for a dozen of Oscars, it was a hugely negative impression about this film.
even Fat he would be STILL a better Batman then DenialAffleck, Also he has such a discipline that if he would take a role of a dying cancer patient he would drop that weight , Not many can do that!!!!
I watched "Hostiles" a few days ago. Is an amazing film. One of the best of 2017 and probably the most underrated. Bale, Pike, and Studi give wonderful perfomances. By the way, the interviewer is very good. Intelligent questions.
One of my favorite scenes from this movie was when Rory Cochrane character (First Sergeant Thomas Metz) went to Chief Yellow Hawks tent and asked for mercy from the treatment they had showed towards the Natives very touching
He did it again! Bale transforms and strongly delivers! Is there anything he can’t do?! Love all the others too! Wes and Rosamund and the message behind the movie!! Epic!!
Thanks Scott cooper for such a fantastic movie. Thanks the whole group for this masterpiece. As Christian says we need to help these movies thrive in theatres.
Incredibly talented ensemble. Anything that can bring to the forefront, the immense injustice that has befallen, and still befalls Native Americans, and U.S. soldiers, is quite essential to me.
I remember in the opening scene the screams that came from Rosamund Pike was unforgettable ... I can only imagine what life was like back then, such a great movie....
Mindblowingly wonderful and heartfelt and heartbreaking and redemptive movie with incredible actors! I see Christian is bulking up for his next wonderful movie "Vice"!
Great interview, great Actors. Being a Brit myself I have always loved Christian Bale since his childhood, Wes Studi is a good spokesperson for the native North Americans we all know him and we do listen to him. Rosamund Pike I must confess is new to me so I can't comment only to say I will enjoy watching her on screen when I do see Hostiles.
I saw this movie last week and it was worth waiting for. It is brutal. Not a movie to take any children to. I'm glad they finally faced up to what the American government did to these people in a film. This is not at all your typical Cowboy & Indians story at all! You could not ask for (3) better actors to play the parts in this movie! There are a few brutal things that happened in this movie that were not needed and still bug me as I type this. If you are a student of History this is part of our History and needs to be told and I feel they did a good job in doing so. It is worth seeing without your CHILDREN!
Yeah, agree. Like, not someone who learned his craft and became a genius, but someone who has something ineffable and innate and it's scary and also inspiring. Great actor.
Regardless of weight (next role FYI), Christian provides a truly fascinating insight on the character that clearly shows a deeper side of him we rarely hear about. His perspective on the character really does sink in once you've seen this absolutely MUST SEE movie. I for one am glad he's adopted America as his home, and what makes this the GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!!
Frighten love that movie. I've never seen such amazing actors that made you feel they were real and you were right there with them. It was very impacting... 👍
This movie really teaches you that we have it good we don’t have like they did we’re free we have choices we’re not in danger this movie really changes how you look at life
One of the best westerns I've ever seen. Had it's preachy moments, surprisingly from both sides, but they were small when compared to the overall drama portrayed. Great movie.
Best movie I've seen lately imo. I love me a good historic movie like this. Shows how violent and just rough life was back then. I realized that there so much mental illness too, basically serial killers walking around everywhere
Of course, 'imo'. lmao! Duh. The mental illness comment is silly, as well. Mental Illness has no time period. Please, define the mental illness you found in this film. Extraordinary, extreme situations may be difficult to put behind and may even change a person's outlook, but that doesn't mean they are mentally ill. I have no doubt in my mind that life is far more complicated now that it was back then, and we have a higher per capita percentage of mental illness in 2019. I do agree that the American western frontier was a playground for bona fide serial killers, though.
10:35 "We don't grow to like your character" I did. He is the ideal 19th Century Military officer, honorable, loyal, skilled and cold and ruthless to the enemy because that's whats expected of him. He is given orders he does not want to follow and mounts up on a horse and puts himself in great danger to get it done. Soldiers are tools of the people, they are expected to do the job given to them without care to their feelings about it.
I’ve seen this movie twice now and i believe i can be safe to say it’s one of the best movies i’ve seen. Amazing acting, amazing soundtrack and really pulls on your emotions. Fantastic movie.
Christian B. is my favorite acter ..I remeber his first movie with John Malkovich..Somehow my life goes by with his films..Wow ..! Amazing acters Wes Studi and this lady Rosa..Omg.🤙🍁🌿🤠💕👏
This reminds me ofthe movie Master and Commander, in a very good way. A piece of historical fiction that shows some real truth about a particular time. Bravo. The best kind of film making.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again -- Hostiles may be the third or fourth best Western film ever made. It's right up there with Leone, Peoples, and Portis. Incredible work.
Kelly Brincks the reason he got no more questions is because of the way he answered the original one he questioned America's actions in the world today not just America's but Britain's France maybe even Russia and this of course is not acceptable in the media whether it be in the United States or Britain because of course the very people who are committing these atrocities around the world use the media as their own propaganda tool a lesson they learnt very well from reich minister Goebbels

I do agree the same..
It’s an impeccable screenplay and heart touching 👌

Wes Studi is a remarkably gifted actor. I’ve yet to see him give a poor performance. So glad he was recognized with an Oscar, finally!
went to the movie today. I am a 70 years old. after the final scene I lost it and cried like a child. still with me .
Gayle Lund LOL you aint 70 years old. Cmon now.
That final scene was magical. I loved it.

This film was beautiful, touching, well acted, amazing script, spectacular filming, music. Violent, complex, truly a wonderful film.
Rosamund is a beautiful woman
Understatement.
But very intense
I want to have babies with her
Nah

Christian seems his happiest when he's a jolly fat -man- Bane.
He will always be the real Bruce Wane.... Even at this weight he will make an extraordinary Batman!!!
Peppa Pig - His extra weight is for his role of portraying Dick Cheney, former Vice President of USA.
He is so happy and smiley now that he's eating. He seemed like he was on his period during his 6 pack days.
Ending train scene! With Christian Bale not saying a word!!!! Wow had me bawling, talking to screen & cheering
Well he did "reveal" something about himself that "it came sooner than he expected"
Phenomenal performance always from Christian Bale!!!
