    This is the perfect owner operator and/or liveaboard. Not too big, not too small. Well laid out. Big screens in the helm are super nice. Overhead clearance in the master is phenomenal. "with a boat like this, were going too far to be seen". Love it. Can't wait for the next video.

    I was really impressed with the northern marine 57, although it would be nice to see a third cabin on this size of explorer yacht just so as to accommodate 2 single children or guests who are not a couple Steve.

      On their website, it does show a 3rd berth with a single and a Pullman. Looks like from the virtual tour it’s an option that replaces the master bedroom with 2 cabins. The master is then swapped with the VIP at the front.

      That was the first thing I noticed. A 57 foot full displacement boat with no room for the kids. They need to hire an interior designer to get away from the home improvement store look.

    I was just in Anacortes, WA. two weeks ago and had lunch in the restaurant marina (seen in the video) and noticed this MV for sale. After lunch took my friends down to the dock, this vessel was certainly the nicest one that day, impressed all of my friends. What a surprise when this video arrived.

    Nice boat and all (except for those stone countertops everywhere which are a bit too much IMO), but placing those rectangular windows so close to the waterline on a boat that wants to be an "explorer" is asking for trouble and will be a pain in the ass in the long run.

    • @seanfinlayson3943
      @seanfinlayson3943 7 місяців тому

      Why? Commercial vessels only have one engine! 🙄 and you can fit a PTO from the generator if needed. One engine is fine. It's a myth amongst nervous twitchy boat owners (most of whom never go more than 30 miles from the coast) that you "need" two engines. Well, maybe you 'need' 3? What if the first two fail? Ridiculous...

      @@EYE50MM I Believe its top speed is only 8 knots in calm waters 0_o in Alaskan waters that is not going to be enough i don't hate the boat so many are getting there panties all twisted up about my comments on it' speed, maybe when they start showing real world video's on deep open waters in mild to rough weather i could have a better opinion, until then ....

    • @EYE50MM
      @EYE50MM 2 роки тому +2

      @@arcticthundergamer113 Oh, nice, thank for your insight. Yeah, 8 knots does seem pretty slow. I went back to watch the sea trial video and it tops out at 10.3 knots at 2150 rpm. It is still slow, however it only has a single 325HP John Deer engine. 14 knots and a steel hull would be great! Am I right? I know pretty much nothing about boats. They fascinate me though. As is, this comes with a Resin Infused Hull (learned from watching sea trial video). Personally, I absolutely love the design and features of the boat. Slow or not, I’d love to live on and own one, although I could never afford it.

      @@EYE50MM i grew up in Alaskan waters and the sea can change in minutes and would hate to see the awesome yacht go down and your right a more powerful motor would be better most fishing boats i know of that chance the big seas have at least 15 knots of speed and are built for big open waters, still love this boat though

    price on application, I can afford it and just want to know, not fill out a bunch of forms and wait for a call back. I hate these manufacturers who think they are special, Kadey Krogen, Nordhavn etc tell you their prices, no problem and probably better boats as well if they have nothing to hide.

      It uses the generator with a power takeoff as the backup. On the Northern Marine website and in BoatTEST's previous video about this boat, they talk about the pros and cons of Northern Marine's design versus a wing engine, like Nordhavn typically uses.

    • @madpete6438
      @madpete6438 2 роки тому

      @@linsen8890 still does not give full redundancy what about log vs prop ?

    • @linsen8890
      @linsen8890 2 роки тому +1

      @@madpete6438 True, and that is one of the pros/cons that is discussed in the Northern Marine and BoatTEST vids. I think Northern Marine maintains that the design of their hull, keel, etc. protects the rudder and prop from logs and other hazards so that losing the rudder and/or prop would be very rare. Every design has advantages and disadvantages. Choose the one that you believe is best.
