Not the end of the world if you don’t, but I can tell your down to follow instructions for the absolute best results. Love your videos! Keep them coming #GinaQueen 🔥🔥🔥
I hit the Subscribe button as soon as you told us the exact price you paid, since so many people don't like to share. You told it like it is, and I appreciate that. Mad respect for that. And your personality is very infectious.
Hi! I never comment on videos but I feel compelled to tell you this: You have a very beautiful and pleasant voice and a vibrant, charming demeanor! I think you should seriously consider going into acting or TV hosting. You have raw talent for it!
Pls know I like $400 in the mid to late 90's going to Ms. Jessie's back in the day for a haircut and shingling! So, this is comparative to what NYC was charging for natural hair back then and in some cases its higher now.
It is a luxury, The results are great and it's worth it. I had the same thing done in France by a Martiniquaise and It cost me 100 euros. I went back to France to have it done again 2 years later and it was great, when I heard of Gina curl I was happy that someone in the states was doing it but, I won't be able to afford it here.
Oh that is good to know. Maybe they will make it more affordable here. Have you looked at doing a texlax or jherri curl perm? I hear they may be similar.
You and your banter are SUPER CUTE 🥰! I love all your videos, keep it up! Can you do a styling video? I am curious about the products that Gina sells, are you using any of them to style your hair?
Thanks Sallie!!! 🥰. I will do a wash n go/styling video soon. Seems like that’s a popular request. I use the shampoo and conditioner and leave-in. No complaints there! But then again I have nothing to compare it to. I actually don’t use the curl cream anymore. Not enough hold for my liking.
Ok, her hair looked cute when she left the salon. After having spent eight hours for just the "drying" period AFTER rodding, and, having to plunk down $600 to over $800 for a curly perm; and that is what this is, ladies, it darn well better look good, right? And in the follow up the curls don't look "bigger", they just appear to have "fallen". Also, the Gina Curl creator does not deny that the chemical makeup of the Gina perm is pretty much the same as that of the Carefree Curl and Wave Nouveau processes. She just insists that the quality of the chemicals in "her" curly perm are "better" and/or of "higher" quality. I'm not seeing that better "quality" reflected in the before and months-after pictures, so I, for one, am not buying for what appears to be nothing more than an over-priced knockoff.
Hey there! check out my GinaCurl Wash and Style video for more on why my curls looked "fallen" in this video. They are completely different in the wash & style video. Just needed a different curl cream :) And to clarify, drying took 3 hours. The whole process took 8 hours. Thanks for watching!
Hi.. New follower here and very new to the gina curl (only day 4 of my 1st gina curl to be exact). I was watching your video and smiling the entire time, because of your personality. Such a personable lady you are; and at the end when you stated you’re of Jamaica Ancestry; I was like, BOOM! There it is! That’s what it is! No wonder she’s so personable and genuine. Hi my Jamaican sister! 💕 So, quick question on the gina curl; 1st gina curl, day 4; yesterday was 1st wash day. Even though I uses the leave in conditioner and curl cream that I bought from Gina over the weekend, and I wet in the AM when I wake up, my hair is dry and frizzy. Any suggestions on how you avoid that? Curls are nice when wet, but 30 mins later they are not very desirable (PS, I do have low porosity hair, so even though it absorbs moisture well, it drinks it up like a bottomless well that hasn’t been filled in years).
Thank you so much for this. I want this treatment so badly but I'm very afraid of having to chop my hair off if I don't like it T.T My hair is also bra strap length so it will not be cheap. If I pay a grand to fuck up my hair I'd be pissed
Honestly, I think you’ll like it. If you are struggling at all with your natural hair, you will love the lifestyle change. I am just worried that I can never go back to life as it was. Lol.
Thanks so much, Amanda! I just subscribed bc I want to see your progress and I love your uncontrived yet hilarious delivery! My big question is about the touch-ups. I'm concerned about overlapping the chemical on previously treated hair. Do they put on two different chemicals :one to straighten and one to curl? Gina says their is no overlap, but I've seen some GC UA-camrs have to get it on their whole length again. On one hand that does not make sense but on the other, it does bc how would they get the older hair to curl along w/the new growth if they don't put chemical on the whole length. So confused, yet so tempted!
Thanks so much for subscribing! And for your kind words :). As far as I know they do not put the straightening chemical on the already processed hair. In those videos, you might see white cream on both the processed hair and new growth but that’s because they put a protecting cream on the already processed hair and a chemical on the new growth. As far as two chemicals, I think they use a straightening chemical (white cream) and then a liquid, neutralizer chemical when your hair is in the rollers. Watch my previous video. It’s when I’m wearing that rain coat looking thing and they’re squirting something on my rolled up hair :)
Honestly easy peezy. I just come my hair in the shower with a wide tooth comb (while the conditioner is in). Other than that, I do not do any more detangling of neither the GinaCurl nor the new growth. Not needed! :)
The price goes up as your hair grows omg. My car note is cheaper than that lol. If I got this I would probably keep it short just so I'm not paying an arm and leg. It would be nice to get caught in the rain without looking like I got struck by lightning twice
I do a lot of up do’s but mostly because of my job. I wear N95s all day and the straps have to go around my head. So a lot of buns and high ponytails for me. Unfortunately that does stretch the curls faster because of the tension. Other than that the two textures REALLY hasn’t caused any styling issues yet so I don’t do anything special. I’ll probably do a product review at some point but right now I like Cantu Coconut Curl Cream
Great question. It was definitely easier when the GinaCurl was fresh. In this video, because of the way I styled it, there’s a large straight portion at the roots. It’s actually usually not that straight, funnily enough. But I’ve always had issues getting it to curl right up till the roots, even when it was brand new.
i love your personality!!! i was the one who asked about how to sleep with it, ty for answering my question :) lovely btw!! im on my second gina curl, and waited almost a year to get my second one
@@amandaday i really like it! im a college student and hair is no longer stressing me out between finals and work, also i love swimming sm so my hair looking great after swimming is perfect
I would love a Gina curl,,, but if the Cots goes up as your hair gets longer ,Why dose it go up in price as the hair grows when that what we want it for hair growth and easier up keep?
Agreed. I have a issue with being told that once you get a curl, it can't be changed. Well if that's the case it means you're only getting a touch up, which is always the case or should be if done right which any chemical. So $700 plus for 3in or less of growth every 6 months is insane. Where if I only had 2in it would be $300 maybe. I know most people think that saves them but I can't make that sensible because I don't spend that much on products or anything hair related combined. As always, if it's what you want, gotta do what you gotta do.
@@loisa2458 I hear you. That’s a good point but just a point of clarification... when you’re getting your retouch every 6 months, they only put the straightening chemical on the new growth but they do coat the rest of your hair with a cream to protect it (time and product) from getting reprocessed and they still have to roll up the entire length of your hair into perm rods (time). Thanks for watching!
Why are all the Gina curl videos I’m seeing done by white stylist? From what I’m seeing their selling y’all crap. Their marketing this Gina curl to black customers as something new. I’m a licensed stylist, been a stylist for twenty years. It’s a perm like what Caucasian people get. The stylist scammed the one’s that are paying for this chemical service .$850 dollars

It’s really not a lot if you think about it. For ppl that would go to a salon 6 months every two weeks $60 in six months that’s $720 so for all the GC benefits it’s worth it.
Have you had any issue with the hair thinning or appearing thinner at all? It would be good to keep this updated as its something mentioned a lot, but remains unclear from other gina curl clients. Thanks!
Do you plan to get your hair trimmed by a stylist? I got my gina curl a month ago and plan to go to a salon for a trim in a few months, but im afraid of my hair being ripped off due to the two different textures.
Hi Louise. I’m actually gonna try to give myself a little trim today. I really don’t go to hair stylists. There are only two I trust lol. Gina and my girl Karen from back in the day. Plus I joke around a lot about it but I’m really tender headed and I honestly hate the sensation/experience of other people in my hair. Also I can’t sign off on the products that a hair stylist would use in my hair and I don’t want to do anything to mess up my GinaCurl because I love her that much haha
Yes it is, same process with a new name and price. This women is charging this high price for the same thing you could get from a reg black stylist, but because Gina says it different they are will to pay her 600 to 900 dollars.
I really want to do this, but I don’t think I can afford it right now. I’d be coming from west Africa and then the process itself will be a lot. But I NEED it. I’ve been natural for do long and my hair just keeps breaking and is forever dry. I can’t even style it properly. It might be easier if it was longer but again it’s dry and breaking quicker than it’s growing. 😭😭
My hair was starting to get like that too! That’s why I had to do something. Hopefully Gina will start training some international stylists and it will be more affordable for you!
I don’t use a Denman brush actually. I did buy one because back when I had a curly weave, it worked wonders for defining those curls. But for some reason, it just doesn’t work with my GinaCurl hair. I just use my hands to take product through my hair.
I could tell you are of Jamaican ancestry based on the way you speak. Notice, I didn't say your accent. You said something a specific or a particular way that was a give away to me. It's not obvious but I noticed. Your hair is looking lovely.
@@amandaday Oh yeah. My husband is amazed that I'm able to pick out Jamaicans from a "lineup"... lol. It's easy. Jamaicans are generally cheerful and intelligent. I'll leave it at that. My pleasure. Your parents did a great job... 😁.
Hi! It’s not always THAT straight at the roots. It has to do with the way I styled it. There is a section near the roots that certainly is straighter than the rest (I assume because of the weight of my hair) but it’s not always that extensive as it is in the video.
Hey there. You know, I don’t. Like if someone asked me if I was natural, I’d say no. But sometimes in my mind, I forget that I’m not. Because my hair acts so similarly to the way it did before. It likes the same treatment/product types/styling techniques as it did before. So I’ve definitely referred to it as natural in my mind. Weird answer but there you go! Haha
I just got a gina curl and its day 2 and there is. no shape to it. Do you have any suggestions about curling and keeping a shape and style. I'm really sad to spend all this money and not be happy with how I look.
Hey! Sorry to hear. When you say no shape to it, do you mean it’s flat? Or your overall hair style has no shape? Did you let them cut it in the salon? Maybe it just needs to be cut into a shape that frames your face?
@@amandaday yeah its flat, she did trim my ends a lot- i know it was needed :-) - but yeah my hair is shorter like pass my ears. Maybe it needs to cut into a style- but then it would be super short.

GINA. CURL IS $ 85.00
NO MATTER YOUR HAIR LENGTH IF IT ABOVE BSL
AFTER THAT ITS $ 120.00
SO I JUST WANTED TO DO MY OWN HAIR TO SAVE MONE BACK THEN AND NOW
IM JUST 3C
ITS NOT HARD ,,, TO DO JUST
TAKING TIME,,, TIMING,,, AND STEP BY STEP
WELL NUMBER .... ITS EASY
Thanks!
Yeh honestly I’m not sure where that comes from. My hair has not thinned at all. Like at all lol
Lastly, can you post a video of a wash and style day?
Uhhh, no
Do you plan to get your hair trimmed by a stylist?
Isn't a Gina curl the same as Jheri curl... Using the same chemical?
Yes it is, same process with a new name and price. This women is charging this high price for the same thing you could get from a reg black stylist, but because Gina says it different they are will to pay her 600 to 900 dollars.

I love your personality ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you. Well done - very informative. Looks very nice!
also can you please tell us what you deep condition with?
It's still a jeri curl girl
We need a wash day !!
Check out my channel! There's a wash day video waiting for you :)
Just buy a “Just For Me Kids “ Texturizer and than boom Gina Curl add perm rods for a extra razzle dazzle lol 😂
Lol it is different but I do appreciate the usage of razzle dazzle. You don’t hear that every day 😂
😂😂😂
Can you get braids in your hair? That’s my one concern because I love doing box braids to give my hair a break
Do you use a denman brush to keep the curls tight?
I don’t use a Denman brush actually. I did buy one because back when I had a curly weave, it worked wonders for defining those curls. But for some reason, it just doesn’t work with my GinaCurl hair. I just use my hands to take product through my hair.
Are you doing protein treatments yourself?
I do not do protein treatments. Too much protein can actually damage the GinaCurl.
When you go in for your touch up, can you choose another size rod than the previous?
Yes m’am! I think that’s pretty cool. You can try a bunch of different looks!
I could tell you are of Jamaican ancestry based on the way you speak. Notice, I didn't say your accent. You said something a specific or a particular way that was a give away to me. It's not obvious but I noticed. Your hair is looking lovely.
Haha really? No ones ever said that to me! Lol. I’m honored that it shows up somehow. And thanks!! :)
@@amandaday Oh yeah. My husband is amazed that I'm able to pick out Jamaicans from a "lineup"... lol. It's easy. Jamaicans are generally cheerful and intelligent. I'll leave it at that. My pleasure. Your parents did a great job... 😁.
@theadorninggoddess haha well what a nice compliment. You guys are awesome. Thanks!!
@theadorninggoddess Awesome! So, it's not just in my head then... lol.
Pretty, kinda resembles a bantu knot out or twist out
Why is it straight at the roots? Is this a defect in the process. I see jeri curls and they are completely curly from the roots.
Hi! It’s not always THAT straight at the roots. It has to do with the way I styled it. There is a section near the roots that certainly is straighter than the rest (I assume because of the weight of my hair) but it’s not always that extensive as it is in the video.
think i will stay natural i'm 4a i will embrace my curls
Good for you! Happy you're enjoying your natural hair. Do whatever makes you happiest!
Can you still oil your scalp?
Do you use or are you allowed to use gel?
Yes! You just shouldn’t sleep with it in because it makes your hair brittle.
So wait how did you sleep those first three days??
With my hair loose :)
Can you style it with braids and other hairstyles?
Yes m’am!
Aww man why do I keep seeing woman do this Gina curl thing? It can’t be good for tour hair...right?
Gorgeous head of hair
Thank you!!
hair definitely looks great! I was wondering, do you still consider yourself natural?
Haha
gIRL YOU ARE GOOD
God bless, Jesus Christ is coming soon!
Omg so much money, where is Yr first video?
Hair looks dry
No it doesn't stop hating 😂
My same thoughts. Very dry..
Your funny 😄
I just got a gina curl and its day 2 and there is. no shape to it. Do you have any suggestions about curling and keeping a shape and style. I'm really sad to spend all this money and not be happy with how I look.
Hey! Sorry to hear. When you say no shape to it, do you mean it’s flat? Or your overall hair style has no shape? Did you let them cut it in the salon? Maybe it just needs to be cut into a shape that frames your face?
Also it might also be just day 2 hair. My hair DEF got fuller and more “natural hair”-ish as time went on! :)
@@amandaday yeah its flat, she did trim my ends a lot- i know it was needed :-) - but yeah my hair is shorter like pass my ears. Maybe it needs to cut into a style- but then it would be super short.
@@amandaday yeah just got off the phone w my stylist- she said ill be able to play w more after day 3 and I wash it! Thanks for replying!
@@amandaday it totally went back to normal! I love my gina curls now! For me it took a week for it to settle, but it looks natural and I love it! Thx for replying :-)
It’s pretty but not $850 pretty. You had to have done it for promotion. You are insane for paying that if you did. You need to stop scamming this people
