Hi! Thanks for the question. I did not explained the TRIM config in this video. I just showed mine, I am sorry for that! I couldn't find the TRIM config in the Alesis DM10 drum module manual online (7132afa424c2f1a2ab6d-54d68a14e2e7c1f76563a2d8c3e9fd82.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/917/documents/dm10_module___operator__s_manual___revc.pdf). I could only find how to change the calibration with the automatic function OPEN and CLOSE. However, I do prefer to use the TRIM function for one reason : I can change the OPEN and CLOSE threshold of the Hi-Hat by myself, with my needs. My advice would be : 1- Look how the TRIM behaves (the OPEN brings the CLOSE down and the CLOSE brings the OPEN up. So, the CLOSE option cannot be higher than the OPEN one); 2- Play with the space between the two plates of your Hi-Hat, this will also help the OPEN and CLOSE setting choice; 3- Hit the hi-hat while putting the OPEN and CLOSE at opposites to see how it behaves; 4- Do it again but by putting the OPEN and CLOSE both at 00 and then, both at 99, and observe the difference; 5- Find your own preferred balance between OPEN and CLOSE settings. I hope it helps!
Hi! Thanks for the video! I recently bought a used e-drum set containing this hi-hat, but I've noticed that whenever I'm pressing the hi hat pedal, the upper cymbal gets pushed up by it. Do you have any ideas on how I can fix that?
Hi! If you want your hihat to stay there, you need to tight up the metal knob of your hihat stand. This way, it should stay at the same height. Hope it helps!
Have you tried to change the "trim" settings? If not, push "ext trig" button, than "cal" (F4) and finally, "trim" (F3). You can change the curv of reaction and the open/close setting. Hope it will help you!
Hi, I'm Walter from Rome. Congratulations on the very useful video. I wanted to ask you I have an ALESIS DM10 STUDIO KIT with your same ECU from 2013. Since I read that to use this HitHat you need an update of the ECU but now these updates are no longer available, they are no longer online. I saw in your video that you don't do any kind of update, but then if I attack this HitHat it should work normally? Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the good words! I effectively didn't update the drum computer before using and the hi-hat was working just fine. I don't know if you write those lines cause it doesn't on your side. Let me know, I'll try my best to help!
@@FireDrummer937 Thank you for your kind response and for your willingness to help me. As soon as I can find it I'll let you know; it is also difficult to find this article, indeed if you know how to point me to some site where it is still located I would be grateful. Hi !!! Walter

@@FireDrummer937 Hi Lèo, thanks you have been very kind. I downloaded the upgrade, as soon as I can find the HitHat I will apply it to the control unit of my DM10. I can't help but notice that the Pro X hi-hat is super noisy, both opened and closed. Do you have any recommendations on how to make it less rubber noisy? It's distracting when I'm not using headphones. Cheers!
I don't really use my drums without good soundproofed headphones. I think that the only way to cope with that issue is to bring the volume a little up!
@@JackMihoff6969 Sorry! I misspoke, it was actually just a DMPad 12" Symbol. Think it was a crash originally? Anyway the bottom is identical to the Pro X, that's how you'll know its the right one. Let me know how it goes for you!
I like that one side stick hit. Nice how you May have redid the snare pad as well. Nice b
If I want to add I it to a drum does it matter where I get the the hihat stand from and the Alesia hihat
You're question isn't clear enough for me to answer properly. Do you mean : does it matter where I buy the Hi-hat stand and the Alesis Pro x Hi-hat?
I´m finding very difficult to deal whith the trim configuration...! Any help...? Thank´s, Bob.

This hi hat doesn’t trigger well, I know from experience it’s worse than the Alesis strike hi hat
But is it worse than the standard hi hat that comes with the DM10?
Looks cool but has the same sound
Stranger Gamer
Obviously, because you’re using the same module
is this Hi-Hat compatible with the Alesis Surge Mesh drumkit? Been wanting a real feeling hi-hat ever since I switched over from an actual drumkit
I don't know, I googled it : www.reddit.com/r/edrums/comments/apnodo/can_i_add_the_alesis_pro_x_hihat_to_an_alesis/
Where can you buy it?
You can purchase one in any online music store!

I used a DM10 Hi-Hat Symbol as a replacement for the top symbol, same size + virtually identical design. It is a LOT quieter I can confirm.
@@workfromwherever That's a great solution!
@@workfromwherever I tried this but the DM10 Hihat's hole is too small for my hihat crank to fit in.

so i have to buy the cymbal Pro X Hi-Hat and vex pro hi hat stand? or it's not neccesary?
Alesis does not provide any hi-hat stand at all, so you have to purchase one separately. Hope it respond to your question.
@@FireDrummer937 yes, so I can use any standar stand
@@jpmcTens0r Exactly! For instance, I bought one from Gibraltar and it fits perfectly!
@@FireDrummer937 thank you!
