I'm in the corner of awful Seiko ownership, at the end I didn't even know what I was paying for. Thank goodness for microbrands and Chinese watches. I want to own a Seiko in the future but it will be secondhand probably. Zelos is definitely on my radar. Great video

I purchased my first Zelos last December, it arrived with an inoperable crown. It cost me $15 in CC service charges, $5 in gas to drive to a shipping point and another $4 in additional shipping charges not covered by Zelos to return the watch and get a refund. I didn't get so much as an apology and I didn't get my refund until AFTER I reminded Zelos I was still waiting. I've only heard great things about Zelos but this wasn't my experience.
Sorry to hear that. I've only had good experiences with them. This is the first time I can recall hearing anyone complain about their aftersales service.
Additional credit card charges and fuel are not something any company would be covering for you. Not sure why you’re blaming Zelos for that.
@@ChrisM752 No matter how inevitable the extra charges are, if Zelos had not failed with quality control, the watch would not have needed returning so they are directly to blame for not checking this particular watch either at the factory or pre postage stage. These are not spectacularly cheap watches so you inevitably expect better from them.
@@manuelhung7571 I’ve had QC issues with far more expensive watches so I disagree with that. You can’t expect every watch to be perfect at the price the majority of Zelos are priced at. Zelos have by far the best customer service I’ve experienced when things do go wrong.
Usually I'm not a big fan of full luminescent dials or bezel. But the one with that white dial.. I have to admit,. I want one!😅😍

Interesting brand, i did like the look of the white dial in this video. Out of the watches you have handled how do they compare in terms of quality say to that of San Martin?
In my experience Zelos are better but San Martin comes close and they're improving all the time. The last 2 San Martins I've had have been especially impressive. Thanks for watching 👍👍

It amazes me that so many microbrands are better than seiko while costing far less, using AR coated sapphire, having vastly superior bracelets AND (final kicker) actually using seiko movements !

My view is that the finishing on Seiko's ⅓ of the price of Zelos are nowhere near the same standard. Still using folded metal bracelets, stamped clasps and reasonable but nothing special case finishing, Seiko produce what you pay for - £100 watches of that range.
You get what you pay for has never been so true as it is in the Watch World.
Seiko produce some beautiful timepieces in the upper price ranges with the Grand Seiko being incredible but you are already into ££thousands££ for these and in the midst of the Rolex/Omega price range.
The Seiko5 range are very serviceable watches as a daily beater as are some of Seiko's cheaper divers and they hold their place very well in the watch market for both respect and functionality.
It all depends on personal taste and the value that we individually place on craftsmanship and the esteem we give to a watch brand and lastly, our own perceptions of value for money but lastly, our own experiences of a given watchmaker.
Seiko have been a highly respected brand for many decades and your opinion on watches is every bit as valid as mine or anyone elses, that is for me part of what makes watch collecting and enthusiasm so fascinating.

Too much colour blocking for my tastes, it distracts from the star of the show, the finishing of the case and bracelet. Beautiful engineering and I will likely buy a different model from this one by Zelos. So many amazing watches to choose from at this price point, it is a truly great time to be a watch collector.

Copy is easy rolex, ap, pp, now every just copy it and put diferent logo just buy seiko move then put another logo for under 100$ same like invicta

You're right, it's very unlikely that Zelos will ever match Seiko in terms of volume of sales. I think the original commenter who made this statement was instead referring to Zelos offering much better value for money and greater innovation than Seiko, in the affordable end of the market. No, not even close to being the new Seiko (other watch reviews have been saying this for years, yet Seiko have been selling more watches than ever.) Seiko have a lot of issues and are often FAR from perfect (pricing, specs, inconsistent QC) But they've been around 140 years and, more importantly , I can walk almost into any watch shop, at any time, and actually buy one. Can't say the same for Zelos. Zelos are a decent microbrand, but the hyperbole from the watch reviewer community is almost comical.
Thanks for sharing your opinion on this. I'm a big Seiko fan but I've become a bit disillusioned by them in recent years. As you have pointed out, Seiko has known issues with QC, specs and pricing. So, in spite of their 140 year heritage and easy availability, it doesn't make much sense to me to keep buying them. I'd only buy another one if I found a really good deal on it. I thought there was a lot of hype about Zelos on UA-cam. Then when I bought one, I realised it was justified. So I bought another one without hesitation.
By your criteria Invicta is also much better than Zelos 😂
They are not the King of Micro Brands for nothing. Although I don’t know what the answer is to the scarcity dilemma. Will making more watches cheapen the Brand? I just don’t know. Thanks!

I don't see any commonalities with Seiko. These are priced nowhere near the same level as the old Seiko 5s.

Waste of time, everything sold out that’s a reasonable price.
I've joined their mailing list, to get notified when a new release is due. Then it's a case of buying quickly, at the 'early bird' price.
Seiko is the Joe Biden of watch makers; fanbois insist everything is fine and Seiko is still the greatest, but anyone with an objective eye sees Seiko as a brand that fails to live up to historic expectations, with indifferent QC at best, particularly for the ever-increasing price points Seiko tries to justify.
Zelos though isn’t the new candidate, it’s too marginal, to specific, to ‘replace’ Seiko.

Perfect example why these "micro brands" suck. You can't even buy the model they promote on their homepage. I buy real existing products from real existing companies. Seiko is one of them. Zelos is nothing.
