Whisky .com reviews the Dalmore King Alexander III. This bottling honoring the eponymous King Alexander III. In a hunt in 1263 a member of the Mackenzie family saved his life.
The nose:
Sweet, fruits, passion fruit, red berries, spies, sherry, wine notes, vanilla, caramel, port note
The taste:
Sweet, watery, oily, nutmeg, oak, espresso, dark chocolate, bitterness
The finish:
Medium with nutmeg and cinnamon

Dalmore 1263 King Alexander III Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
750 mL bottle $374.95....a little on the pricey side, the Dalmore 15 is only $146.90 and that's still very expensive in Canada, lol! I just bought the Dalmore 12 year old for $89.95.
How was the 12 year? I am considering buying it.

Im torn between the Dalmore King Alexander III and Glenmorangie Signet. Any advice?
Every year, my 2 older brothers and I buy an expensive and special whisky for our father on his birthday. The first special bottle we got him was Dalmore King Alexander III. It blew our minds. The smell was oaky and full of berries and forest dark fruit and the taste was incredible and the texture of it was rich. Then, a year later we went for the Signet. I was the only one among my father and two brothers who preferred it, but they all were in awe. Everybody agreed that the Signet stood on its own and that you couldn't mix it up with no other whiskey because its presence was so unique. I'd say go with the Signet, but you really can't go wrong with either. They are both MUST HAVES if you're an avid whisky drinker.

It’s an NAS whisky. Don’t worry about age just buy on taste and enjoy.
Hows this compared to Glenmorangie Signet?
I like this better than Signet but I like the fruity and sweet flavors more than coffee taste of signet....My question is how does this compare to Hibiki 21

I love this guys voice no homo but I don’t understand what’s so special about whisky 🥃 of corse I have not had like a 200 dollar bottle it all taste the same to me and only at 80 proof seems like it’s not all that great for the price but just my opinion. I sill prefer knob creek over anything els at the moment

Good rewiew. But in my humble opinion it's a quitw boring whisky...heavely overpriced NAS, low abv, fake colour and chillfiltered. It's such a pitty that Dalmore choose to bottle their whisky like that. I have tasted Dalmore from independed botellers with higher abv, natural colours and non chillfiltered...it' a much better experience. At half the price, this whisky would be ok.

Don't watch. The way to fully enjoy drinks like these is by swishing it around in your mouth so you absorb all the flavors and influences within the drink. This is done with wines also. If you aren't swishing it around in your mouth, you're not enjoying it fully
