@@MadMatt4WD Hi Matt, I just got a set of 35/12.5R17 of these Razr M/T and I found its night/day compared to my GY K02 A/T (33") in mud&rocks, I did find they where 100x nosier as soon as they where fitted though (didn't need to wear them down to get noise) but I love them so far.
I'm running these on a Tacoma and have been very happy. Surprisingly quiet, and turns the truck into a tank through thick mud. Great on the rocks as well, even with open diffs.
I run the same tires in the same 33" size on my 92 Cherokee and love them. I agree, mine have developed a little noise after a few thousand but I don't care. They perform so damn well off road that I can handle some road noise. These tires just take me wherever I want. I've also had them in sand several times @ 8-10psi and haven't been stuck once and that was before I released to 4.56's and locked front and rear
I was brain washed for the BFG for so long. The fog has cleared and now I have the razed 285/70 17 AT. I love them . Section mold instead of a clam shell mold. Better balance!!
Thanks for the videos I already ordered mine before coming here but now I feel reassured, it's kinda stressful shopping for tires lol. I can't wait to get them installed
I’ve run these on my Ranger for around 10k now. Most of my driving is on road but I have done a few thousand kays in sand, mud and gravel. I’ve traveled from Perth and done the Holland track, various trails out near Paynes find, beaches, the powerline track out of Mundaring numerous times. I cannot fault them.
Well i will give credit for my maxxis razr AT 285 75 16 on my 105 just clicked over 60K km and have 7mm left compared to 12mm when new. They have performed flawlessly certainly good value tyres
Hi matt. I have a new set of the 33's and took them out for their first 4x4 day a couple of days ago (1/11/21). Before these I was running the KM2's and I thought they were a fantastic tyre. Long story short, I drove 3 tracks I'd never been able to do before. I don't know if you know Tallarook but I drove Jenkins (no.1) from the bottom to the very top (where it meets rocky track) and it's in terrible condition. The top half of that track is pretty hard to do. For those wondering I drive a n80 hilux, 2" lift and twin locked.
I’ve always been a DFG fan. I Run Maxxis tyres on my mtb and they are amazing. After my tyres wear out I’ll give them a go. Thanks Matt 👍keep up the good work
Great review. Tires are such a personal choice. I have seen guys buy a certain tire just because it looks cool. For me, I want performance and for where I live, I also want a snow rated tire. Maxxis certainly makes a great tire. I'd love to run a full mud rated tire like that but right now I'm running the BFGoodrich KO2 and have been happy with them. Another guy in our group has Coopers but said he is going to switch to KO2s.
Hi Matt. Thanks for the video. You always provide good information and thoughtful perspective. I am thinking of the new AT 811 for my next set of tyres. Thanks again. MP
Am looking at the 33*10.5 version right now (might scale down to the 31 though, 33 is crazy for a Jimny) as they are one of the few offering this size. For now it's either these, BFG KM3 or some Cooper in 31 Thanks for the review
Interesting that you managed to pop the bead on these with such a light car. I have these in a 315/75/16 on my heavy 105 series and have no issues running 10-15psi on rocks etc.
This was a great review, I really wanted these tires but when I had a question I emailed the company here in the states and got nothing. So I went with BFG instead. I call and emailed BFG and they answered right away. Bummer cause I was looking to get a set of Trepadors too. No customer service, no sale.
Great video very interesting what you where saying about the side wall grip. You don't seem to think about that but it's very important. What kinda kms have you got so far out of the set
MadMatt, talk to me, the m/t vs the a/t which of the two will give up best all terrain traction? I’m not too worried about road performance just want what’s best all round for traction, PS i try to avoid mud like the plague. Cheers Steve.
@@targetoz5470 How big is the mud bog? How deep? what type of mud is it? All these variables come into play. If you want a tyre for mud then it'll do well there and ok elsewhere. Everything is a compromise. the AT will clog up in mud but works well on rock and tar roads.
@@MadMatt4WD tough one that, I usually avoid mud like the plague but the other month I came across a lot of mud at baal bones being Lithgow i could’ve turned around but she’ll be right kicked in, wife wasn’t too happy luckily my worn out muddies got us through the next 4 hours of mud! So if I did get the muddies would they still be ok on rock and clay climbs? Does Maxis make a hybrid at/mt tyre??
@@targetoz5470 Muds are still a good tyre. I don't really know how to answer your questions. The Ats are a good tyre for the job they have to do. Watch my video on them on the 105.
I was thinking exactly the same because I’m running the bfg km3. They’re great off-road, on mud, sand dirt rocks. But driving on the pavement is noisy and the steering is all over the place with 35” tires.
I have a set of 18s on my 2014 Hilux, they have just over 50k on them and still have 8 mm of tread left, admittedly they haven't done any serious off road work, just gravel road and mostly bitumen, if I do my maths they should do nearly 200, 000 but I can't see that happening 😊
Good review Matt. With the pressures you are talking about running, and that side bite image, these must be quite a stiff sidewall tyre. Sad to hear your rear locker isn’t working. How are you finding the e-lockers in general?
Great video! Im currently on my second set of KM2s on my 80 here in the states. Good mileage but they pick up cuts on the sidewall and chunks In the thread. How do these tires do in that department? Overall impressions next to the KM2?
Hi rockstate45 I could answer this one for ya as I drive an 80 over here in Oz. I changed to maxxis razr mt this year after running km2 for ten years. These haven’t seemed to chip as much as my km’s did, they are also a lot better on the blacktop. So far I’ve done 10,000km on mine with about 7,000km of touring in the outback and a bit of weekend warrior stuff and rate these tyres👍
@@Theoffroader80 thanks for the reply! I’m coming up on my “6 years” and have prolly 35-40k miles on these with a lot of tread but they look like they’ve lived on a buggy for years. Glad to hear your experience with them. Definitely gonna give the Maxxis a look next year...

What a ripper 4wd the Bundera is. I would have thought the tyre gets quieter as it ages. Smaller tread blocks and hardened rubber.
Maybe it’ll get quieter with time then. We will see. Thanks it’s a fun little machine to wheel.
Good stuff 👍

Can you please tell me if you know what's the difference between Razr MT and Bighorn MT764?
I can’t tell you specifically but I thought the bighorn was finished.

It’s always disappointing when companies loose sales due to laziness or poor systems.
How would you rate the side wall protection and longevity of wear?
Thanks for the vid.
Excellent 👍
I’ve not had any issues with the side walls. So I rate them
Loooooong tire term review! Cool. I have never seen them here in Colorado. Who makes them? I'm using Wildpeak but always looking

I can’t comment re km2 but these have no chips or damage that I can see
What was the overall kilometres you have done on the tyres verse tread percentage left?
I can’t give that answer as the cars not on the road now but being light they wore really well
Matt, could it be heat cycling changing the hardness? Noise in hot climate vs. cool climate? The battery level in your hearing aid? ;)
Lol I’m going with battery in hearing aid because that makes more sense. 🤪
The road noise comes from the tires getting harder over time. Hence old tires start cracking.
And the harder the tire the more noisy they become.
It had better be a good review... Just brought some of these..... Watching...
You’ll be happy. 🤓
What kind of morrors are those? They look aftermarket?
Just cheap 70 series jobs. I break them too often to run good ones.
