I have been running Maxxis Razrs on my 80 series for a little over 1 year and agree they do have a memory to some degree, I have experienced a flat spot/ out of balance maybe 4 or 5 times at highway speeds, for maybe 5 to 7 KMs then it disappears. Fairly quiet for an agressive tread pattern. I definitely recommend these tyres.

I'm currently using the RAZR's, love them. Not an issue to date. I've had other A brands in the past, and although they too, are good in most circumstances, I have found the RAZR's to be on top of the heap. But that's just my opinion on my vehicle.

Patagonia milestar mt tires. I am a pipeline in the US and they work well in all types of situations. On my second set now. I got over 50,000 miles on the first set. I drive a Ford F-150. I also had a set on a Dodge Ram 2500. Got about the same mileage on that set.

I also run these tyres and love them, one thing you forgot to mention which you may not have known about Ronny, but if you buy 4 or more Maxxis tyres from a Maxxis dealer you will get Maxxis roadside assist and they will also replace any damaged tyre with a brand new one free. Hands down can't beat that!

They aren't loud on the road considering the aggressive tread. They dont feel like the tire rolls when cornering. And so far so good off road.

I'd love to see you test the Cooper S/T Maxx. Have a set on my Taco TRD OffRoad & just did a 3 day overland ride. mostly fast speed gravel But some seriously deep sloppy, rutted tracks which took out my rear locker. Pushed on & hoped for the best. Rock climbing & descending. Continued on & was blown away at the traction in all conditions, the quiet highway ride is just a great bonus. But climbing & descending a mud caked hill in a thunder storm with a torrential downpour convinced me that I'll probably never by a mud tire again. Loving my Cooper S/T Maxx in 255-85-16. Previous tires have been BFG's in mud & AT pattern, General Grabber in mud & AT pattern, Goodyear Wrangler in AT & Interco Super Swamper SSR's in a 37-12.50- 16. Possibly my second most favourite, 3 season tire but they suck on snow covered highways which is a yearly thing up here in the Great White North.
Love your channel, Keep up the great work you're doing.

Maxxis Bighorn was one of the best tires I have ever ran. Numerous trip to Death Valley and zero failures. Despite a nasty rip in the sidewall, it still got me back home. I can't find any more of those Bighorns in town so I'm considering the Razr.

@@V8AmericanMuscleCar The Razr has more aggressive side tread. They both perform exceptionally well. I haven't really noticed much difference in performance.

The cold flat spot is pretty normal for MTs. The heavy cord in the sidewalls on muddies tend to hold shape when they get cold and stiff. They are fine as soon as there is a bit of warmth in them.
The only solution is to use highway tires and no-one wants to do that.

Pretty cool, one thing about these new boots, you are getting less than 50k km out of them is that correct? 2nd question is that par for the course on your 4by? Doesnt take long to rack up 40k km in WA & at $400 a corner minimum for 35s can start to get exxy your thoughts?

What kind of cord materials are used in this tyre? If they use nylon cord thats the reason for the flat spotting in cold weather.

Hey Ronny, you should do the Falken MT01. They're a cheaper tyre, would love to see your opinion of them.

Well i love my old Cooper ST/Maxx (think theyre better than STT Pro in cold europe especially) and i fal in love in Federals Couragia MT... cheap, and they are soft & laud. But in offroad, almost unbeatable in MT tires range. Only some Extreme tires perfom better.

Very good review. Have you looked at getting beadlocks? Then you could keep the balance.

Toyo MTs hands down wins my vote.

Personally I've always been scared to try Toyo's. My grandad took his 4x4 into the WA outback on many gold prospecting trips and tried quite a few brands. He tried the Toyos once, took them out on a familiar 3 week trip and cut them all to shreds (lost two). Came back, threw them out and said never again. It was in the 2000's.
They might be better now but that story stuck with me.

Be great if you could review Yokohama, I’ve heard some great things about them so be nice to get your opinion. It was based on your Nitto review that made me get my trail grapplers.

Andrew St. Pierre White did a rundown of off road tires. didn't think much of Yokohamas. See his comment at around 13:30 mark. ua-cam.com/video/mtX6KzPooqE/v-deo.html

@@ppalla yeah... I took up the special... Got 5 AT3W FOR $1200 FITTED with a wheel alignment at Ian Diffens in Ozzy Park...
They have a 80,000km warranty as long as you do the schedule rotations that they give you in a booklet..
I've done about 5000km on them so far and they look brand new... I'll keep you posted as time goes by.🤘

    • @oldmate3551

@@Valrat7 ... Mate... Do it.. Grab some for sure.. You wont regret it one bit.. They are awesome All Terrain Tyres.. The Muddy's are awesome too.. My mate has them and loves them... Anyway, the AT3W's, I personally can't fault them... They are TOUGH as Hell, and I mean Super tough, they look awesome, They are a very smooth ride and they are super grippy.. They are ultra quit too for a big 10 ply tyre. They tow superbly and are rated for 80 psi if it was ever needed..The side walls are super heavy duty and super aggressive too for low psi offroad... I run them a fair bit @ 7- 9psi and have never felt like i would pop a bead.. I've done just over 28,500+ kms since I put them on my rig back in 2019... October I think it was, and I reckon at the very worst Mate, i've maybe scrubbed 1/8 of the tread away..(maybe.. its probably less).. And i'm a pretty aggressive driver too.. I reckon they will easily be good for 100,000kms..
I mean Falken offers a 80,000km warranty as long as you do the scheduled rotations.... Im trying to find a negative for you but it is hard but, So, The only thing I could winge about is I had to get out and pick the odd little rock or honky nut out of the tread because it is so deep and aggressive.. Its only happened maybe 5 or 6 times though.. Other than that That's all I got,, I got nothing negative at all to say about them.... I can't recommend them enough to you Mate.or to anyone wanting an awesome allround tyre that performs excellent......If you can get they buy 3 get one free deal like i did its an absolute bargain.. I got 5 x tyres for $1200, fitted and balanced with a wheel alignment....... Put it this way Mate, Falken Wild Peaks will be the only tyres going on my Pride and Joy EVER... It would take a lot to beat them... They are Hands down the best tyres i've ever run.. Hope this helps you out.... Keep us posted on how you go with your decision..

Just an update .. after 29000km I have measured the tread depth of my spare which has never run and the tyres on the 4x4 and they are within 1mm of each other... pretty damn good IMO... 150,000km tyres easy
