1080p 60 fps docked, 720p 60fps handheld, multiplayer, 30 tracks all for only 20 dollars ! got it day one
Naga itzu Might double dip once I get the Switch eventually.
Naga itzu Same here! It's the only game I currently have on my Switch since I didn't have enough for Zelda and I don't regret my decision at all! Heck, even bare bones online mp is pretty great.
Sounds like a steal to me!
RogueHunter117x You bought a Switch and you didn't get Zelda? You're doing it wrong. :P
Abraham M. Right? Haha. Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up in the near future. :P
i love how they dont mention that this beautiful 30 tracks racing game only costs 20$
I love how it has more tracks than 1-2 Switch has mini-games and at a CHEAPER price too
PS4 PRO They mentioned how Bomberman R for the Switch was $50.....
Not the same reviewer.
Pokemon TrainerRed #DN what can you expect, its ign
@tjmack010 they only mention price when they feel like it you see.
Great review, but you totally forgot to mention the price. 20$ killer deal.
Check out the Red Value Gaming Website, those guys always talk about the price and gave this game a fantastic review.
Wow I really like the red value website... might have to bookmark it.
Agree on the point with the obstacles on the tracks but still would have given a better score.
It's way more fun then this review implies especially together with friends and it looks great!
i love this game. but i think 7.4 is a fair score. its a good score. just because its not 8+ means it is not a good game
It's a fair score. After all, they are doing updates, so there will be a chance to revisit the game once the new updates are made.
It isn't a bad score but looking at ign reviews you often see them giving way better scores to way worse games.... It's sad
Obstacles...lol, what's the matter, not used to a video game that's _not_ holding your hand all the time? Go back to Fi, young one. She elaborates on everything for you.
Medachod - He is implying that the level design, while overall good, there are some obstructions that weren't well placed. F-Zero GX never had those problems and that game is really hard.
Got this game on launch day for switch for only $20. Come on only $20 for 30 tracks, 15 vehicles, split screen multiplayer, hero mode and online multiplayer. This game was a steal! Graphics are fantastic, it's fast, fun and addictive and plays beautifully...Not to mention it's the only available racing game on switch right now! This game is just as fun as f -zero or wipeout
I hope Nintendo gets these guys to make a new F-Zero game they seem to know what they are doing
Absolutely not. No need for an F-Zero game that has the rear of the machine swing out every corner. It feels terrible and nothing like F-Zero at all.
Just because it doesn't feel like F-Zero doesn't mean it feels terrible. F-Zero basically had no "feel" to it, it was just extremely responsive with snappy controls. Fast RMX has more weight to its control. Not saying either is better than the other, I just find it odd whenever I see a comment like yours.
If you like the weighty controls you have to try Redout!
What's wrong with the F-Zero development team? The N64 and GameCube games were incredible! Also, the F-Zero announcer from those games announces the races in Fast RMX.
Well, F Zero GX was developed by Sega in partnership with Nintendo which means it would be a similar situation if Shin'en developed that game in partnership with Nintendo.
What that means is that a non-Nintendo studio can do a good job with the franchise. Heck, it was proven twice already for Nintendo: once when they gave Sega's Amusement Vision the task of creating a new F Zero, and again when they gave a then unknown Retro Studios to handle Metroid Prime.
Track memorization comes with the territory with such games. It's funny how he talks about f-zero and such, but those games required of you to learn the track too, in order to beat the game. It just seems that the reviewer bitched too much about the obstacles and the video showing us that "bad track design" clearly showed mistakes on his part like using a boost where you shouldn't use it.
ErmacReptile Yeah, the piramid track especially is very punishing if you abuse the boost button, but I (almost) got to learn how and when to use it. You just need to play until you get better at those tracks.
For game such as motoGP I need to remember the course so I know the top speed which allow me to take turn or know when to cross someone, which it totally OK and acceptable. But for game such as this sudden obstacle just isn't fun or even funny.
Exactly, he must have forgotten the copious amounts of obstacles in courses like Port Town Long Pipe in F-Zero GX. Terrible score, he clearly didn't invest the patience into actually getting good at the game, as evidenced by his driving in the video.
that tubular track tho is legit one of the hardest courses ive ever played haha
its hard not to die hahah
@DaNes200581 I think that's a really great point that a lot of people are missing. One tell tale sign of a great racer is when you can still compete on a track without draconian memorization. F-Zero GX still has some of the best track design of any anti-grav racing game I've ever played. But it's also the fact that the cars can be so agile on those tracks, at high speed that allows players a number of ways to approach them. WipeOut comes in a very close second in terms of track design but WipeOut is overall a better series. WipeOut as a series has tighter controls and the cars handle better at high speeds, especially in WipeOut XL, Pulse, HD and 2048. When it comes to the overall package, there still isn't a anti grav racing game that's better than the best WipeOut. If I bought a Switch I would buy Fast RMX because I can appreciate it. RedOut isn't bad either and that's coming to Switch although I highly doubt it's going to be comparable to the PC version which looks phenomenal. If it runs smoothly though I think RedOut on Switch will better than Fast RMX IMO. But if I had a PS4, I wouldn't buy Fast RMX at all because the WipeOut Omega collection is going to be so much better it's laughable.
As far as playing it on the go...hey, remote play to Vita still works.
Too much blue and orange 7.4/10
Too fest. sanic/10
Hollywood is leaking.
Eleazar Estrella battlefield 3
This game looks awesome I'm totally getting it
It's worth it, perfectly displays the Switch's capabilities.
IAmThe GameBoy it drives faster than I first thought it would, has some cool unique features, lots of levels and is just $20! I don't see any problem with each user owning their own or if played on a TV has good multiplayer on a single copy. Shows many of the capacities of the SWITCH specially with games built from the ground up and optimized for it.

tobias arevalo I've never heard of knack
it was bundle with the ps4
1080p 60fps goodness!
Martin Racing games aren't demanding so it's not that impressive, nevermind the fact that the textures look like they came from an Xbox 360 game
ooooo yeah because xbox 360 games are sooooooo dated
Dislexic Potato You do realize the textures arent stored as images? They used an algorithm to create them.
Remnants of a Titan
It's still being optimized isn't it?I don't think we can close on statements until release.
Martin PS4 graphics!
got the switch my first download purchase is this
candr_dk "my first download purchase"
zelda is `13gb why would you download that if you can instantly play it with no download if you buy the cartdrige, also this game is only 900MB
Brian Hearty I downloaded this because neo on Wii U was so well made. The gripes in this review are only coz the reviewer needs to learn the tracks...
i have Zelda it's brilliant
Brian Hearty Same!
1:53 Rest in peace, fellow headphone users.
I'd give it an 8.9, honestly one if the best racing games I'd ever played. Plus the cheap price and the amount of tracks the game has, it's a pretty solid game
🦍✊
This is a 9.
It’s the slickest racer I’ve ever played. When you get it and you learn the course, you feel like a bat outta hell
7.4 too much fast
I feel like it's an 8, seems good for the price, like Snipperclips.
Yeah, its got good gameplay amazing graphics at 1080p 60fps, and has a lot of gameplay options (single player, hero mode, time trials, split screen, local multiplayer, online, 30 courses...
Snipperclips isnt worth 20$ imo
*so the "cons" are that you don't know how to play it, that doesn't sound like an argument...*
*real score*
*9*
So an F-Zero wannabe with 30 tracks is an almost perfect game? Yeah okay.
Richmard Loins it is really good not a 9 but definitely 8 or an 8.5
Personally, I'd give it an 8.5
Knowledge 10-5 Yep that seems reasonable.
YOU SHOULD TURN OF THE CHROMATIC ABERRATION IN THE GRAPHICS SETTING TO GET RID OF THE MURKY GRAPHICS.
IAM EVERYDAYGAMER Sure, bring on the jaggies.
No need for caps.
7.4 too many obstacles
IGN (you did it again)
Simtopia 23 from the people who gave other m 8.5
This game is fantastic. Go buy it now and enjoy.
Tyler Quill No doubt, but since I already own it on Wii U there's little incentive for me to double dip.
Tyler Quill i would...but i just got snipperclips...ima get it next time
AIRSH but you can play it on the go
Tyler Quill Is the single player good? Or is it only good for multiplayer?
its more good for multiplayer. its fun to play with friends. single player is just progressing and trying to place in the top 3 to unlock tracks and vehicles. theres not much more depth
still good fun though for 20 dollars
This is literally one of those miracle games on switch. You wouldn't think the switch could run something like this but these developers are magicians.
Ignore this review and just read the comment section. This is one of those must buy games for the switch. Exceptionally polished
Looks like a beginner version of F-Zero GX
F-Zero didn't need motion blur to make it look awesome.
Kinda sad that they made this instead of a continuation of F-Zero GX with updated graphics.
Nintendo didnt make this lol
Nintendo: F-Zero? Haven't heard that name in years.
i might just get this to help me in my craving for a new f-zero
Nintendo should have hired them to make F-Zero
Dionys84 We are talking about Nintendo, there are a lot of things the company should but won't do.
Dionys84 Pretty sure the developers said they wanted to make this game F-Zero but Nintendo wouldn't allow them
why ? this is already out and its an exclusive
Source?
force B I don't remember honestly. I watched an interview with the developers a while back and I think it was mentioned in the video.
played this split screen 2 player during lunch @ work today, what a blast! great game.
Even though there aren't that many games, I'm very happy with the Switch launch lineup. I think Nintendo was going for quality over quantity, and they definitely achieved that, with the exceptions of 1-2 Switch and Super Bomberman R, both of which are still fun in their own right.
Super Bomberman R is decent just overpriced
+Retro Hero 276 bomberman is a huge disappointment for me. 8 arenas, cramped screen in tablet mode for mp, and not enough modes. 20 dollar game at best. Now, I'd totally drop 50 bucks on fast rmx.
Funny how times changed and nintendo is now the mainstream console with the most exclusives
and yes, that is the announcer from fzero gx
Very fast, straight forward racing game 1080p 60fps, 4player splitscreen, 20$
The Perfect 'no-brainer' game to just chill with your friends.
Wonder if the reviewer ever played F0, wipeout
I just wish fast RMX had that rock/metal music like F-Zero.
Please have Captain Falcon as a guest character! that would be dope!
2:00 turbines you can see from a Distance *wink wink*
>Ancient Civilizations
>Fucking techno-pyramids everywhere
IGN you guys never cease to amaze me
Could Nintendo just slap "FZero" on the title? That would be cool.
I can see where the cons come from, but I would disagree with all of them. This is easily a 9/10 for me, and it is tied for my favorite Death Sled Racer. Absolutely loved the originals and love this version even more.
i feel bombermans score was lowered because of the price point. is this one raised because of the cheaper price? do you take this in consideration
hocotate spacing out you got a shit game for 50 dollars, it should say enough
Freshest woomy this one is 20 right?
yes
I doubt the reviewer took that into consideration for Fast RMX because 7.4/10 is just a poor score for this game IMO. Considering the amount of content and the sheer polish of everything in the package, for such a low price, it definitely deserves a higher score.
+Merry Blind 8.5 in my book. The future update will probably push it up to a 9.
Extreme-G / N 64 times, seems like something I'd like to play
7.4 is just not something I could've said with a straight face but this man said it like a July 4th without any fireworks in the night sky burning with colorful passion.
What stole this man's excitement and childlike wonder? Who hurt you?
**Annoys people with yet another NX joke** Also, 7.4/10.
There are a lot of things I don't know about how well the gameplay works. But to me if I picked it up it would seem like I was playing a lesser version of an F-Zero game. And I would wonder why I'm not just playing one of those games and why I don't get have a new F-Zero to play for the Switch.
I unlocked everything on f zero gx after 3 months. i love games like that
There's another game similar to this coming to the Switch called Redout. The demo is free on Steam if anyone wants to try it out.
1:38 LIES!!! that's not big blue that's the course Fire field cylinder knot 🤔 tsk tsk come on ign
He was referring to Big Blue in F-Zero X, not GX.
we won't get a F-zero game anytime soon, fine just add F-zero stuff to this like a course or 2 maybe a couple of vehicle and some soundtracks, that's enough to make me happy.
If tweaked properly this could be a great F-zero game just add badass heavy rock music, darker maps and better layouts.
Oh, I crashed. That means I need to give the game a 7.4
7.4 for a georgeous-looking $20 game? And 8.5 for a shitty game like Other M? Wtf IGN.
Cedars Ign are a complete joke enough said!
After all this time nothing has topped Wipeout XL. Original Wipeout was damn good too.
Why do the vehicles feel like they're wobbling and drifting from side to side too much? F-Zero never had this much of an issue.
Quadraxon Because it's not F-zero.
LightOff The wobbling in this game gives me a headache. It's a shame they didn't tone it down like F-Zero did.
Quadraxon It's just the style of the game, I like it.
This looks fun!
so "disappointingly barebone" seems to be the keyword for the switch at the moment
If this game had some stuff outside of the races (character, cutscenes, customization, etc), it'd be perfect. Beautiful to look at, fun to play, and technically sound. I love it!
Bought this day one, it's a hell of a lot of fun to play at home / with friends or on the go
1080p 60 FPS racing game with 4 player splitscreen that looks and run good? Why can't others do this.
So can someone explain to me why they can easily just shit out these futuristic racing games, but it's like the BIGGEST move in the world for Nintendo to come out with a new F-Zero...
7.4 is a really fair review for what it is. This is a fun game, but it lacks a bit in depth at the moment. The only things you can actually learn are the tracks and how to master the curves, leaving the game lacking after that is achieved. I still prefer this game over Mario Kart 8 though, purely to the lack of RNG on items. If they add the friend multiplayer feature, and overall polish multiplayer a bit (there's a lot of lag, pairing up joining with races that haven't started) this game would go up to a 8.5. It's definitely worth buying at its 20$ pricetag.
I played the first game a lot on the Wii U. It really is great fun, and super intense. Especially in online races when your fighting for the first place right at the finishing line. And a really good looking title for an indie game. . Plus there really aren't too many futuristic racers around these days, which is a shame, since it's such an awesome subgerne. To me the first was easily an 8.3, and with this game supposedly being better and more expansive in every way, I would probably feel it was an 8.5 game, but to each his own.
But I can definitely recommend it to anybody who wants something besides Zelda within the systems launch window.
NOW THIS IS POD-RACING!!!!!
Yea, Screw that score man. $20 for a racing game with Solid Gameplay, Diverse Tracks, Hours upon hours of gameplay and SPLITSCREEN Something that a majority of games don't even offer anymore. Buy it. 100% worth it. I actually enjoy the fact that it doesn't have online multiplayer right now, it's about time that some justice comes around for people that don't have access to highspeed internet. (I have satellite internet so I can download but no online play)
Seriously this game is so much fun and split screen should never die!
So Fast Rmx is basically Fast Racing Neo ported??? Just like MK8 and MK8 Deluxe???
damn it Nintendo just give us F zero
Would possibly consider buying if it were available physically.
I may have missed it, but if not, it was a major oversight to not mention whether the game supports 2 players via split joycon.
Surely that's a crucial part of any local multiplayer Switch review. Obviously if it's COD you don't need to explain, it obviously won't be present cos you need dual analogue. But for this game, it's ambiguous.
Geometry War
Resogun
Fast RMX
It's always the one you least expect.
Work at Walmart 8 unit every two week good luck If you havent got one yet
It's unbelievable that this costs only 20€ and Bomberman costs 50€!
Reviewers should take into account the cost of a game. This 20$ game is more fun than some of the 60$ games I've played this gen
When games get ratings between 6 to 8 out of 10, that's when it seems like it's a matter of taste as far as I'm concerned. Still though, I'm not in a rush to pick this one up because I'm still content with F-Zero GX...and learning how to master it without seeing a 'retired' screen every few minutes...or seconds.
they could have just made this an f-zero game
I hope that the reason this game is $20 and is not F-Zero is because Nintendo is using this as another tech demo on how the next F-ZERO game can look.
Not a fan, however, of the center titling and camera shifts. That would get annoying after a long time, especially with the Though the game "looks nice" visually.
Ultimately, Nintendo needs to bring F-ZERO back and feed the fans desire for another wholesome entry into the series as a whole. NOT TO MENTION giving Captain Falcon his own stand-alone video game. I want punch and kick my way through an rpg style 3D beat'em adventure game where I play as the famous F-ZERO racer and bounty hunter, dealing with a situation that goes beyond anyone's expectation.
This game utilises the Switch's features beautifully.
Stick it on portable mode, hand out 4 joycons for insane multiplayer anywhere!
The online mode is bloody good too. All for £20!!
Nintendo should have bought the game and slapped an F-Zero coat of paint on it.
wish this was more like Oban Star-racers...anyone else thought that show was WAY underrated? and would make a great sci fi racing game!
If i hadn't had epilepsy i would definitely buy this game
Only a 7.4?
Easily anywhere between an 8 and 9. Filled with content, superb performance both docked and in handheld mode, addicting gameplay, and the fact it's cheaper than most games released nowadays? Yeah I'd say it deserves better. Think you guys once more, had too much cod on the brain when you went into this review.
In addition to the F Zero and Wipe out comparisons I've also heard Episode I Pod Racer thrown out.
Actually really been enjoying this game
Ohh Shin'en made the Iridon games on GBA plus that fun shooter (forget the name) on the DS. They have some good titles up their sleeve
Needing two copies of the game for local multiplayer is outrageous and pisspoor. They better only charge 20 bucks for that if they cant even offer a co-op mode. Pathetic.
Big Blue wasn't a tubular track, Firestorm was.
In F-Zero X it was
I want to play but hurts my eyes. I think the boost strips are to close so your basically going to go so fast you are guaranteed to crash. Also you cant always see the path in front of you -_-
This game has better graphics, better music and faster than even FZero GX. Incredible. This game requires more skill than any other in the genre imo. Its the Dark Souls of Futuristic Racing games. The game hurts you but damn is it fun! Hero mode is super hard but requires strategy
It's incredible that this game can keep stable 60fps with 4 players split screen in tabletop mode
Just curious, can you get a different camera view, slighly higher?
I just wanted to know what to get..
Shovel Knight : Treasure Trove or Fast RMX.
TheAmazingTurtle both
On sale for $13! Super fun game for any f-zero or racing fan
I hope Hero Mode can be played in local & online multiplayer. The lack thereof was a real disappointment in the original. :/
Good thing this game is to be released before Mario Kart. There is no way this game will sell well if it is to be released around Mario Kart.
The orange and blue looks like Tron.
they seem to be sticking to their Nintendo roots I see because there was a game on the Gamecube I loved called Tube Slider and this seems like an up to date version of that game with a little flare, better graphics and a nice facelift to the gameplay. Always happy to see games from my early childhood get a revisit. Great concept.
When I first tried this in the Nintendo NYC storewhen the Switch came out, my eyes are like "what the hell is this? Its so HD clear and awesome yet stomach churning when going at 1000 mph"
Looks like tons of fun while on train or bus, or in class.
If f-zero and IKARUGA had a baby!
If I was interested in the Switch, I'd get this game. I really want a new hover-racing game like Wipeout on PS4.
Am I the only one who gets flashbacks of Extreme G while playing this game? ( I know extreme G were motorcycle type cars ) I'm loving this game. The sense of speed it's amazing. And all of these stuff for $19? It should have get at least 8.0 score but to each their own I guess...
not a fan of the close ranged camera. can you change that in the game?
I'm sorry if he said this in the video I didn't catch it, but can you play this game with only one joycon so you can have two player multiplayer with each person using one of the joycons? Thanks :)
