tomorrow will be 51 years my wife and i have been married. this was the first song i played her on my 8 track back in 1971. Happy Anniversary darling love you. Thanks for playing this brings tears to my eyes.
I am right there with you. My husband and I have been together 45 years and we listened to 8 tracks in his Javelin. Blessings to you both and many more years. We may be the dying breed but we stand strong with our partners.
I think you should hear "If" too. Its one of my favorites. "If a picture paints a thousand words Then why can't I paint you? The words will never show the you I've come to know If a face could launch a thousand ships Then where am I to go?" It's worth a listen.
I found an old photo of a girl wearing roller skates at a pinball machine .... wearing Dittos! Oh how I miss Dittos. I have it onmy Facebook but unfortunatley can't share photos here, darn it.
I graduated high school in the early 70's and I *still* think that I'm one of the luckiest people in the world today. We had friends and schoolmates and music like this to help us through all those changes.
@JustMe-vk4fn I was born in 67 but always wished I was older, born in 58 with 2 of my friends. Although I grew up in the 70's and 80's, I would much rather grew up in the 60's and 70's.
Dear Sir you are making me feel guilty for taking all this great music for granted having grown up with it and danced to it. Having heard these songs a million times. And yet we still love it.
My daughter was born in 1970 and I would sing this song to her every day! She will be 54 years old this year. We did make it together, with more years to come.
I'm 67. As a teen girl with dreams of a man who would love me this song touched me. I didn't know who he would be. I did meet and marry him. We were married 32 years when he passed 12 years ago. This song brings sweet memories of my teen years and all the years spent with my soul mate. I have to stop crying before my grandson gets home. They are happy tears for the time we had and sad tears for those we haven't. They were that popular.
"Diary" and "If" are musts. Bread filled the airwaves when the choices ran from "Crosby Stills, Nash and Young" to "Led Zeppelin." The late '60's and the '70's provided the best menu of music ever. I was 15 years old in 1969 so this is my soundtrack. The best ever. Please keep my personal suggestion to you: Jeff Beck Group album ('72) "Sugar Cane and "Ice Cream Cakes" I believe you'll be amazed and pleasantly surprised. Love your reactions Black Pegasus.
Me too! Only I stole it from my sister. It has a skip on this song and I expect to hear the skip whenever I listen to this song. (And my sister knows that I still have the album 😅)
I was in the army in Korea when this came out. I immediately bought their album and put it on my stereo. Our barracks held 40 yuys, the country guys at one end, the brothers in the middle and the rockers at the other end. I put this on and turned it up kinda loud. Before the first verse was was over all music was turned off I had most guys standing by my bunk listening. One of the few times that ever happened. Beautiful music and a good memory from the toughest time in my life
Married 54 years, my wife and I started going to the movie theater but wound up in the record store. We'd go home and listen to the music all night. I think the music brought us closer together. Thanx for enjoying the music that means so much to so many people. God bless you and your family I pray Jesus will give you peace, Joy and the knowledge that you are special.
My wife and I used to ride around in my 1970 Chevelle, playing Bread on 8- track tape before we married in 1977--its been 45 yrs, come September, I think we made it
We were teens in the early 70's. My husband and i married in 1975. This was one of "OUR SONGS!" We lived this music. He served overseas for years, while I stayed in California. This held us together, no matter what or where. He served in 3 war zones, From Vietnam to Desert Storm 1. This is that smooth, sweet HUG, that we all NEEDED and Still NEED. We've been married 49 years, raised 4 children and have 13 grandchildren! We are STILL MAKING IT TOGETHER! Thank you for sharing this with us, and reminding us.😊🎉🙏💖🦓Liz
You literally just described what happened. .my husband and I met at a friend's house and over the next three hours talked and talked (while listening the Bread's Greatest Hits Album) and fell in love, married 6 months later, raised three kids. We had 41 years together and this was "our song". Music Matters and yes, we need more of this kind of music! Another favorite song by Bread is "If'. I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to "Make It With You" and I look forward to seeing more reactions to Bread!
This is the stuff I literally grew up on. Bread, CCR, James Taylor, Carole King, Carly Simon, Simon and Garfunkle.... all of these were MY "Top 40 radio" groups. Yeah... I may be old, but I got to listen to all the COOL bands!! 🤣
When you do these 70's reactions it always reminds me of my older step sisters who played this music when I was anywhere from 7-13. Great childhood memories for me. They have all passed now, but hearing these songs takes me right back to being a little kid, wanting to be just like my new big sisters. Thanks for the feels...
You’re describing me and my husband. I was 16 and a junior in high school when this song came out. First time we heard it on the car radio was magical. We were married for 46 years before he passed away fall of 2021. Your reaction brought back sweet memories…
Great music in the 70's, this song reminds me of sister Becky (and of course the group Bread). Loved the male groups in the 70s, CCR, Dr. Hook, Ambrosia, The Eagles. I would give "If" by Bread a listen. I would also recommend Player - Baby, Come Back or Ambrosia The Biggest Part of Me.
Yay… more Bread!! ❤ LOVE THEM!!! I watched this whole reaction w/ the BIGGEST smile on my face! They’re one of my favorite bands of all time! 🤩 The song “IF” is another of my favorites! So glad you love them just as much & I’m glad I sent you the 1st song on IG!
I'm sitting here crying joyously, watching your face as you listen to this song. I know you are thinking about your beautiful family with heartfelt love. I enjoy a lot of genres of music, but Bread is, sincerely, my very favorite group. I have "The Best of Bread Compilation" on my iPod. Yes, iPod! LOL With your family in mind, I recommend the song "Baby i'ma want you" ❤❤Much Love ❤❤
Saw them live in Lexington Kentucky, March 1977. I was 16 years old. I still have my ticket stub. My sweet dad worked at a bank two doors down from the venue, and he went and stood in line for tickets so my best friend and I could sit 2nd row, center. Geez now I am going to cry because I miss my dad so much.
Such a beautiful voice and song!!! His voice brings you to another world! I absolutely love bread!!! My favorite is "baby im a want you, baby im a need you" you need to listen to that next. That is my song to my love!!!❤❤
We all got the same heartfelt worries for our families in America's political climate. 🙏 This comes from the days of Love, Peace and the Jesus Movement...🥰 A wonderful era for most youth and young adults. We were protesting the Vietnam War, coming together as races and religions! It was sooooo sweet!
The Album "Best of Bread" was the one in the 70's we put on at the end of a house party, when people were "pairing up" and things were winding down. It was a guaranteed hook up hit. ;)
As a teenager in the 70's - everyday felt like this song. A decade of songs with beautiful lyrics, soothing beats. And I laid in the grass every summer smiling with friends playing guitars and my first love. Life was so good. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.
Love this one, too! Bread just has that vibe of wanting to kick back in a hammock and relax! There's so much music from this era that u would absolutely love! Someone else I think u would love is Dan Fogelberg! Check out Leader of the band, or Longer!
When Bread first came out I had just entered college and I had a wonderful love. I had a heady sense of freedom and being on my own. We found that we could get to the roof of our dorm to sunbathe. Some songs put me right back there and this is one! A similar band around the same time frame was Air Supply. My favorite of their's is: Making Love Out Of Nothing At All One last thing. You asked why people keep coming back for your reactions. I love the way you aren't afraid to show your emotions. Also your common sense in the face of today's world. Thank you! ❤
I was born in 1968, in the month between the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy. This song, two years later was what this country needed. It is so peaceful. Hopefully, we can find that peace in this country again. 🙏
I was born in 67, and grew up listening to Great songs like these when you actually could understand Every word they say. The melody on this song is Beautiful! I so miss this music you don't get anymore. A time when the bands actually sang the whole song, no special electronic help in the studios, going to concerts was an Awesome experience!!! This IS what Good music is All about!!! I still listen to all the Greats!!!!
They're songs remind me of certain times in my life that were sad and Bread's music was very uplifting. Haven't heard them in years and they sound so good! Thanks for reacting to them.
Awesome Reaction The best music is old music. Continue on your journey with music from the past .Congratulations on your addition to your family members
Dang it BP, thank you. Your reaction, your real life self, gave this song and Bread back to me. 45 years ago, the Best of Bread album was "ours". Problem was, I didn't know it, but he wasn't mine. Talk about crushed. Almost couldn't listen even today. But I so love seeing and hearing your reactions to the truth of life. You hang in there with your wife and kids. We really are in dire straights as a culture, and men like you, brave enough to talk about love and family and being real, are what is going to change things for the better. And yes, "Diary"should be next, followed by " if". Peace and love and blessings of God be with you, my friend that I never met. And yes, keep up with your original content. You have a story to tell that is still developing. I feel it.
Thank you for playing some of the best music ever. Many of us here have a lot of memories to these song and many more that you play. You help keep the music from our generation alive when you introduce it to your generation and beyond. Keep playing and spreading every type of music before during and what's yet to come. Music is the universal language. Thank you.
I was 13 when this came out. I wore out my Bread album that had some of their best songs on it. ( If, Wanna Make It With You, Guitar Man, Baby I'm A Want You, Everything I Own, Diary)
I started dating my wife in nineteen seventy. That was one of our favorite songs. We have now been married fifty one years. We have been through a lot but our love is still there!❤️❤️❤️
Black Pegasus, I just LOVE hearing you discover the music I grew up listening to, and I love watching you discover the beauty and meaning in these old songs. I appreciate your reverence for the music and for these old groups as well. We are from different generations, and I think there can be such wide divides between younger folks and the older generations. Music is such an amazing universal language and bridge between our worlds. Thanks for showing this old lady how much heart younger folks can have, and how we’re not all that different when it comes down to what is important in our lives! ❤
tomorrow will be 51 years my wife and i have been married. this was the first song i played her on my 8 track back in 1971. Happy Anniversary darling love you. Thanks for playing this brings tears to my eyes.
You and your wife are the backbone of a strong America. Congratulations and may your love be everlasting.
❤❤❤❤
Happy Anniversary to both of you
Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end!
I am right there with you. My husband and I have been together 45 years and we listened to 8 tracks in his Javelin. Blessings to you both and many more years. We may be the dying breed but we stand strong with our partners.
I think you should hear "If" too. Its one of my favorites.
"If a picture paints a thousand words
Then why can't I paint you?
The words will never show the you I've come to know
If a face could launch a thousand ships
Then where am I to go?"
It's worth a listen.
Oh absolutely
There's lots of others saying it ,
but YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO "If".
With this one blowing your mind, just you wait for "If".
Yes please! totally forgot about that one!
Yes! Definitely a song you can hear a million times.
For sure
I close my eyes and see my dad pull my mom in and start dancing in the kitchen as he sang this to her. They made a lifetime together.
The 70's ..bell bottoms , peace, keep truckin patches and music like this. A great decade!

The 70's were the greatest, we had Bread and Pink, Led, Queen.....all of it😊
The 70s were the good times that made the weak men that made these times.
We did X
Dear Sir you are making me feel guilty for taking all this great music for granted having grown up with it and danced to it. Having heard these songs a million times. And yet we still love it.
Pink? She was maybe born in the late 70’s? Maybe? I must be forgetting another pink…do you mean Pink Floyd?
@@M00N.L1GHT yep Pink Floyd
These songs touch me just as deeply now as they did 50+ years ago when I was a teenager. BREAD is timeless and classic.

Absolutely love Bread. What a beautiful voice David Gates has.
Just beautiful, isn't it? Sigh. I miss the 70s.
From England Hi me 2 x
Me also. More than ever. 💕
Me too, young, innocent, great music, great times..❤😊
"If" is another great one. This music takes me back to happy times.
My daughter was born in 1970 and I would sing this song to her every day! She will be 54 years old this year. We did make it together, with more years to come.

David Gates voice is like a warm hug, it just envelopes you. A perfect romantic song!
Bread gives us what we "knead"-our daily Bread-next song should be IF-it will melt your heart.
In my opinion, their best one
BREAD is a elite band.
As a father, I think Rod Stewarts "Forever Young" would def make your forever playlist.
" How do they make joints like this?" It's called talent and musical ability.
