Journey has a massive list of great songs. Some of the "best" would be as follows: DON'T STOP BELIEVIN', WHO'S CRYING NOW, WHEEL IN THE SKY, FAITHFULLY, LIGHTS, LOVIN' TOUCHIN. SQUEEZIN', SEND HER MY LOVE, ANYWAY YOU WANT IT, SEPARATE WAYS, OPEN ARMS, STONE IN LOVE, FEELING THAT WAY, JUST THE SAME WAY. Well I better stop here before I list their entire discography.
“Faithfully” was written by the keyboardist Jonathan Caine who wrote it about his first wife Tene’ Caine, a musician herself (and gorgeous 🙂). Sadly, they did divorce later. Jonathan was originally the keyboardist for The Babys with John Waite. Jonathan joined Journey after the demise of The Babys. He was a HUGE asset to them as both a keyboardist and songwriter.

Steve Perry's voice is so distinct and separate from all the rest.. that's why it's so recognizable! This song when it came on the radio waves in the 80's was an instant hit and classic and displays his prowess as a vocalist. Now as an aspiring singer myself I can take and learn from the best and Steve Perry being one of them he even follows me on social media..such a nice kind hearted person.

Steve Perry’s daughter lived in NC about 6 years ago. Steve would visit her and her family and go to church with them. Thank God, They were left alone and people really respected their family time ❤

You need to do Open Arms and Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'! In all honesty, Journey never made "bad" music. Wish I had a quarter for every mile I put on my rollerskates to Journey and all of the other amazing artists during the 80's!
Steve Perry WAS The Voice. But he also had some great musicians behind him. Journey was a force of nature, and you will enjoy anything you hear from them.

I’ve seen Journey 4 times in Phoenix Az back in the 80’s . This video has so many memories. Plus having your name Journey on your bus. Being on your Journey!! Steve Perry is still with us. He’s currently not touring with Journey.

Steve was only with the band for the first 10 yrs. This song was really about the piano players wife. That's why Steve was so great, every single song they wrote, the way he sang it, you felt it. He needed to get out of the circus. The bands still playing, have a great lead singer that sounds like him. Steve has a few solo albums, you'd like those too. Steve is known as “The Voice”, for great reason. He literally has the best voice in Rock history (and I know Freddie was Incredible as well but Steve was in his own because of the absolute clarity of every note). One of the greatest songs ever. It’s so funny, that my wife does not allow anyone to sing Journey songs when they come on, because it is sacrilegious to interrupt Steve’s voice. lol

Steve left Journey due to disagreement in band....went solo.....but he is alive and well. Journey is still around with a fill in but is no where as good as Steve Perry❤❤

ALL the Journey! Journey was my very first CD when music was going from cassettes to CDs. I only had one CD (because I was young and poor) and I played it endlessly!
When did MTV come out....1981? That means all these beautiful songs you're discovering today that came out in the '70's as I traveled from high school to graduation *had no videos.* That meant us kids could either listen to AM/FM and never hear an entire album played or turn on our parents stereos, get out our headphones if we could afford them, and then just put a steel needle into a vinyl groove and let our *own* thoughts float away with us as the music played. *That* was a very personal experience for me and a *lot* of people. :D I guess we were our *own* Reactors.

Keyboardist Jonathan Cain wrote the song on a Napkin on tour, says Cain: “I started thinking about me and my relationship, and I was missing my new wife at the time, and we were having trouble,” shares Cain. “There were early signs that we would probably split apart. I knew I needed to do something that said, ‘I love you, and whether or not you want to leave me, here it is,’ so I got on the bus, and there was this grey sky, and the moon was doing some kind of crazy stuff in the clouds, and it looked like the midnight sun. Then I wrote Highway run / Into the midnight sun / Wheels go round and round / You’re on my mind.” They didn't make it. In the video, Jonathan is sitting in front of the mirror looking at her photo. Quite the talent.

Journey released 3-4 albums before Steve Perry (lead singer) joined them , thsts when they started charting with City of the Angels, Lights, Lovin Touchin Squeezin , Wheels in the Sky, then the Frontiers album. So many great tunes charted and uncharted!!!

Journey has some great material. I'm not a die hard fan but there are a few songs I can relate to and jam. This is one of my favorites.
This song was considered the first "tour ballad", a song that told us all about the hardships and difficulties of being on the road. Many other bands and musicians would follow suit with their own stories, painting us a picture of the price of fame. ❤ Bless their hearts, they were so strong so that we could be so happy.
Open Arms is another great ballad from them. Who's Crying Now is another great song.
