    I'd love to see a comparison between the Repeat Stop for the Rail Square Mk 2 you've just presented and the new angle stop with extension FS-WA and FS-WA-VL. If you don't press on the variable angles the FS-WA can give you a comparison should be fair.

    I am sorry but I cannot click the like button because google has removed it. I checked on line and was told that if I like too many videos the algorithm decides that I am acting like a bot and removes the like button for a period. I find this as being stupid because I only watch you UA-cam videos that I like so the possibility that I will like the video is more than not liking it.

    • @gbwildlifeuk8269
      @gbwildlifeuk8269 Рік тому +1

      The algorithm doesnt know its more likely you will like it, than not like it. It works on the assumption a bot is liking it, to get higher on the youtube ladder. (A bit like getting friends to write reviews on you!)
      On the home page click your name in the top right hand corner. Go to settings. History and privacy. Remove watch history. Remove search history.
      By doing this you confuse the algorithm as it cant find where you have been. Problem solved.
      If you subscribe to the channel it wont be effected by the deletes.

    great video - after a first (an very late) view it´s hard for me to decide (does it matter that I own a Festool FS-WA already?). Right now, I need to produce repeatable cuts, say shorten 40 x 40 cm pieces to 38 * 40 cm and apply a 45° cuts on both sides (building small boxes for the kids´ toys) - but every project comes with new use cases...

    thanks for this video, it helped me chose the benchdog, while i was contemplating the TSO i just found hard to justify the price of TSO when after buying the parallel guides you still need to plunge another 120 for the rail attachments and extensions and systainer and... you end up paying like over $500 which i think is quite ludicrous

    Hi, just subscribed. if repeat cut can do 42 inch wide. and if my requirement is to cut parallel and square up to 42 inch, i dont need parallel guide?, is that right, please advise. i assume parallel guide can do narrow cut ... but repat guide cant do narrow cut.. apart from this is there a difference. please

    Right, I've been playing with the parallel guides in PG mode. Every cut I made, the rail shifted slightly, possibly because the vacuum hose snagged on the guide as it was sticking out.
    I think I'm going to have to put a hook on the shed ceiling to suspend the hose from.
    In the meantime, I might try using the track with guides fitted on the patio sans vacuum, and tidy up afterwards. I'll have to wait til my neighbour takes their washing in off the line, just in case.

    After following many of your videos, probably all by now, I've gone with the railsquare with repeat stop with your lttle discount. Its just been delivered today but I need to wait for 5/8ths (better half) to pop out to avoid the "how much was that?". I've only recently started out in woodworking since school 40 years ago, your videos have been a fantastic help to me. Cheers.

    I have the parallel guides and I'm not a huge fan. The stops will slide with a little force regardless of how tight you have the two knobs. So you'll have it all set to the right length and then slide them to your piece of wood and the stops with slide a couple of mm.

      Quick question, how do you get small cuts on lumber? Let’s say I want 1cm~2cm wide pieces to go in a peel, chopping board. Or is that repeat stop with the square won’t work in this situation. Trying to figure out how to get narrow cuts parallel with a track saw and what I need to do that, specifically for a Bosch track.

Would the 10mm tolerance mean that I might be able to use the BD repeat stop with it? It’s something I think I’d find super-useful.

      Thanks Peter! I currently am working on making a 24"x48" MFT table, and was planning to buy the Stanton V2 Dog Locks after watching your video called Square Cuts: MFT or Rail Square. It seems like tall dogs with these are the way to go over rail dogs.
      The question I have is I ordered parallel guides and now I am almost regretting it, and wondering if this is not a necessary piece of kit if I have a 24"x48" mft table ... would love your thoughts!

    • @richardballinger517
      @richardballinger517 Рік тому

      I've had a look at them and from what I can see you have to put the stops on the outer edge of the board you're cutting because the fixing to the rail are underneath which means the rail would not sit flat if they were within the board width. Also you'd have to keep repositioning them if the boards were different widths to the one you set it on. Hence I didn't buy them. Bought the square, that's fine. I'll have a look at that link. Hopefully I'm wrong?

      I’ve been using plungesaws since 2005 (2009 DeWalt introduced their version as a tracksaw in 2009) so I hardly think it’s a ‘craze’ more of a well-established alternative to the DIY sawboards that we all,used to make previously.
