Feist is such an interesting talent. She has a certain almost inexplicable subtlety to her that is irresistible. Her dancing and choreography is incredible, yet again, it's simple and subtle. Her vocals, as well as her face and physicality have a very unusual mellow, girl next door, yet sultry sensual quality. And her music videos are so simple yet very creative, unique and impressive. Love her
I honestly think this is one of the best music videos ever made. I mean, I really can't think of a better music video that has so much intricacy executed so well.
@@ixules yeah but that's what they're known for., their complex music videos. Feist is known for her music. She didn't have to come out swinging on the execution in this music video, but she did.
How to make a good music video: 1 airport for 20 minutes. about 10 extras. A dance choreographer. Some lighting props and a strobe. Excellent. Inspired low budget production. Props to the director.
I remember playing this song on my blackberry, showing my sister my new favorite song. She’s no longer in my life like how she used to be. The memories a song can carry.
...I can relate to that completely. I left my toxic family (mom) in 2008. My brother and sister, too. I was supposed to be the black sheep, the rotten child. I never thought me and my sister would talk again. And here we are today, 15 years later, she realized how are mother was poisoning us and reached out to me. There's always hope ❤
That ending part with Feist trotting across, opening and shutting the door then literally walking to The Park will always be pure genius to me. A perfect transition between tracks.
I was thinking of this video a few weeks ago laid over in a nearly empty airport and thinking about what a pleasure it is to see a simple concept perfectly executed. I saw her live back then too and the show was predictably stellar.
Moving sidewalks have always been fun, but never this musically talented. This is such a raw, human expression of the song, and the moves I see are the type of thing I'd do in my bedroom when I'm alone. Feist has an unparalleled natural talent that no other artist can offer. Long story short, Feist is a natural, human, authentic expression of music. Good job.
Driving for a few hours alone and hear this threw the radio. It was in canyon so lots of static and only heard it around turns. Thank god for Shazam. The struggle before was real
To think that one day, this song would bring back memories of my youth, gaining independence for the first time, and listening to this on my mp3 player on countless London Underground trains, feeling so cool and like there were endless possibilities in front of me..
The actual lyrics: My moon, my man, so changeable and Such a lovable lamb to me My care, my coat leave on a high note There's nowhere to go but on Heart on my sleeve, not where it should be The song's out of key again My moon's white face What day and what phase It's the calendar page again Take it slow Take it easy on me Shed some light Shed some light on me, please Take it slow Take it easy on me Shed some light Shed some light on me, please My moon and me Not as good as we've been It's the dirtiest clean I know My care, my coat leave on a high note There's nowhere to go There's nowhere to…
Still in love with this song, and videoclip, in 2018... And I actually think about it every single time I'm taking a flight at Charles de Gaulle airport.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this song back in freshman year of college. That time was an amazing time of new, exciting experiences. Nostalgia trip hard
This is the smartest choreography I've seen in years. Using a real, transitory environment and understated moves, she gets the point across and evokes so much more. It makes the standard over-produced dance numbers from Beyonce, Madonna, and any other pop phenom, just look dumb. The song is pretty good too.
Beautiful song about Feist’s back door adventures….Love the imaginary “her moon, her man”, “dirtiest clean she knows”, “take in slow, take it easy on her”…

I remember loving a remix of this song by some electronic band, can't remember the name now. But I really liked it, it gave a very weird relaxing feeling of sadness and longing for something long gone. 15 years later UA-cam recommends me the original song and I'm drowning in the oceans of nostalgia.
I remember they used to play this on the Topshop playlist way back when, it was one of the first indie songs I was exposed to and I thought it was brilliant. They’d play the full video on the TV in the shop, I was struck by it even then at 16 in 2007. Now I’m older I can appreciate the pure genius of the lyrics and music video put together, it reminds me of the phases women go through, especially in love, and it makes it all the more poignant because I’m bipolar. I’ve always thought the moon’s phases and bipolar disorder are inextricably linked. I listen to this now having lived through heartbreak and it just adds another layer of depth for me.
Haha! This video pretty accurately visualizes how it feels to have this song randomly pop up in your playlist. Also reminded me of a far more coherent version of that "Okay Go" video from a while ago.
