I had this movie on DVD and my children loved it and constantly asked to watch it. I always believed that its beautiful music inspired my son to become a pianist who now plays these pieces for me. I'm moved every time.
I saw this film at the cinema with my girlfriend (now wife), and I fell in love with Paris all over again. Years later, I was sent on assignment through work to Paris. When I arrived for the start of the week from London, I used to walk from Gare du Nord down to Boulevard de la Madeleine with my headphones in - and this wonderful soundtrack played every time. I had everything: a city I loved, a language I could speak enough, this music, and the spirit of Amelie in my heart. These are such treasured memories.
Was in Paris over Xmas and walked through the 17th arrondisement, Gare de Nord, by Madelaine and across the Seine. Yes it was gray, drizzling, and cold... but Paris is Paris. Amelie captures the magic of not only Paris but of life itself.
In Italy, tonight they dedicated this soundtrack at a torchlight procession in memory of a young girl killed by her ex-boyfriend. It was her favorite music.🙏🏻🎶🕯️💐🇮🇹💔
I love euro movies. They portray real life, not fantasy. No hero’s no control, just life! I’m 60 years old, and this is one of the best cinematic experiences I’ve had the pleasure to view.
Played it when I earned my degree....when i met my husband...in my wedding..when i landed my first job.. when I first held my new born son 🥰...when my best friend passed away...when my son said mama for first time... Many such more menorable moments
The movie was not about unrequited love, it was about helping someone and not letting them know that you helped them. When a person that you helped, smiles, then you will feel the bliss. Amelié tries everything for happiness but when she helped someone and didn't let him know as she is too shy for it then she felt whole pheneremone gushing in her mind, she realizes that it's an eternal bliss. So, she makes it her mission to help people in her surrounding, she teaches us that even a small help can makes a lots of difference in someone's life. Later, in the movie she fell in love with this person and then realizes that it was love overall, it was love, helping someone was love and having that boy is love. She tries to hard to let that guy know that it was her, who was helping him in his pursuits but couldn't able to because of shy nature. In end, she thought that everything is lost and cries badly, here your heart will break as you have seen her helping everyone but in the end she is helpless. At that moment of darkness, that guy reaches her home and at last finds her, she was his pursuit and they hug, finding love and happiness in each other's arms. Such a beautiful movie!! I feel tears in my eyes, writing about Amelié.
Not everyone can understand this movie.. but to me.. it's like the story of a soul, dancing through the world.. seeing deeply others. Never asking why.. living.. Thanks Amelie..
When i visited Geneva, somone played this on a public piano. Attracted quite a crowd too. And we all listened in silence. One of the moat surreal things ever :) Such a special movie....

I came across this film quite by chance one evening when I was channel hopping, trying to find something half-decent to watch. I wasn't expecting much at first, but after a few minutes I realised I'd discovered something very special.
i went to Paris last month coz of the movie.. i went to the same coffee where Amelie was working.. after my coffee it started to rain soo hard and I had to hide in a corner with a girl I met in that coffee.. we hide in front of the svegetable store was showing in the movie... will remember that day forever
If I was asked to keep only one movie out my whole collection, Amelie would be it. Perfection of real emotions not sentimentality. Every time I hear this music I fill up with love and joy, but also tears, happy tears. The impact of this movie is nothing short of seismic. ❤

For sure. I'm 32. Not old by most standards but old enough to not feel that fiery love that burns in your teens and through your 20s with a passion. What is sad is that, after ages of postponing watching this film, I came to watch it in 2022 not many months after my ex dumped my ass. After 9 years of relationship. Then I watched and many mannerism, interactions, behaviours of Amelie I could recognize in my ex, especially when we were younger and courting. She even had some resemblance to her. Wonder if she was inspired by Amelie somehow...

I saw this movie played it in my university the very same year was out. I was so young didn’t quite understand the level of such quality artistry film making, the scenes, colors, physical spaces, the settings, the cafe, metro station,,,the way they use the camera angled,,,,so beautiful and greatly done. Never seen this movie but this scene alone, oh man... it reminds me of when a guy is trying to think of the words to say to a woman hes never spoke to but has an affinity for. The woman has an affinity for him and is preparing a response for what the guy will say during their first interaction. What typically happens is neither of them make the first move then over time their mutual affinity dissipates like it never existed.
Once upon a time, there was a young man named Caio who worked in a bustling office building. Every day, he saw a beautiful girl named Gabriela walk by, but he was too shy to talk to her. Despite his nervousness, Caio would steal glances at Gabriela whenever he could, admiring her grace and beauty from afar.
As the days went by, Caio and Gabriela continued to exchange looks, and before he knew it, they began to acknowledge each other with small smiles and nods. They even found themselves accidentally bumping into each other from time to time, causing them both to blush and laugh in embarrassment.
One day, Caio worked up the courage to invite Gabriela on a motorcycle ride. Although she was hesitant at first, she eventually agreed, and they spent the whole day cruising around town, enjoying each other's company.

This randomly came on my mix but it reminds me of middle school. There was a guy in my class who would play this piece on the piano often during music class. We were never friends and I was too socially awkward to ask what piece it was but I always found it so beautiful.
