Thanks so much for the help. My filming and editing has improved a lot, and you are a big part of the reason why. It is not easy starting a new channel as an old geezer, but your insights have been invaluable.
Wow !!!! Sean you are right !!!! I am a video editor and these tips have definitely helped me edit more videos faster for my clients and get them more video views! If you have the time to edit your own videos then you have to watch this video till the end!
I've been trying to learn more about videography recently and I have to say your content is my favourite! It removes all the fluff from shooting to editing and makes the whole process seem more manageable even for beginners. I really appreciate your super practical take on things, as well as the effort you put in explaining then demonstrating things. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
That ALT trick to edit the music track separately from the video track... mind blown. Loving your videos, just wrapped up watching a couple on b-roll as I look to start doing some in-field videos. Thanks for all the effort on these!
Thank you so much for your tips! I’ve been editing a lot of UA-cam videos and sometimes it’s hard to keep up when you want to post regularly. Your tips helped me to edit a lot faster.
Learnt paste attribute last sunday and saved hours! Colouring clips looks like a real time saver too, so I can scan my clips super fast. Many thanks for the great tips. Hey can you do a video on shooting indoors in daylight and which lens works best for interior shots like real estate. RESPECT SEAN. PS. I use alt drag to duplicate a clip and see which version of an edit works best.
I learned a few of these with time on my own like "Control+Z" and "V" and even though they were only like 4-5 shortcuts that I knew, they made editing SO much easier and funner! But I definitely needed to learn all these other shortcuts. Thank you! 🙏
Thanks for the video and tips mate! I'm always looking for shortcuts to save time when editing because it takes sooooo long already. Keep up the great content man!
There are so many hacks, I do use all the ones you talk about in this and they do help a lot and are total time savers. One hack that I use on longer edits is creating select sequences. Instead of using q and w I move all the parts I am going to use up to V2, color code them in sections and then dragging all the clips from V2 into another sequence that way if I need to go back because one of the selections I have doesn't work, I can go back and find it within seconds in a linear timeline rather than spend a ton of time going back through the footage clip by clip.
Is it just me or did context menus haven't record properly? Sean explained it well enough to find it, but for example in 9:25 - shouldn't there be a dropdown context menu showing labels? Anyway - thanks a lot, Sean! I've already learned a lot form your videos! Big love! Cheers!
i really enjoy and got some knowledge that i dont know before. but for me, i learn fast by watching. can you give your example how to edit 1 of your video. pleaseeeee. thank you
My #1 tip: Create 2 timelines stacked. Then just drag the clip you want to the empty timeline on top to start piecing together your video. It also doesnt delete any of the clips when you do this unless you hold down ctrl. Bonus tip: Use adjustment layers for color grading.
Yeah definitely a nice work flow and something I often do! Adjustment layers are great for grading but not so much for color correcting individual clips :)
Hi Sean, good video 👍🏻 i work with Edius 😂 but editing tips are editing tips 😉 now my short river cruise film (and teaser) with 100% Osmo Pocket is ready and online ⛴ best cinematic greetings from germany my friend 🇩🇪
